We’re having problems with obtaining the permission to use fursuits in public in Gent.
Due to the events in Paris on 13/11 and the raised terror-level here in Belgium, the police are on edge and thus not entirely happy with us walking around in fursuit. Also the city administration “forgot” about us, so our request got delayed.
As long as we don’t have the permission, we can’t post further details about the meet.
We are working on it to obtain the permission ASAP, but we are aware of the fact that maybe it will not reach us in time or that the police won’t let us at all.
We hope that we can still receive it in time for the Music for life meet in Ghent.
Same story for the meet that was planned in Boom on 19/12, we're working on a solution here too.

Music For Life

It’s almost time again for Flanders to put together their best effort to raise money for a good cause. Yep, Studio Brussel is organizing ‘Music for Life’ again and this year, BEfurs is planning to do an event to help raise some money.
First of all, we need to know which organisation we want to raise money for. To simplify things, we already have chosen a few, and you can vote here http://strawpoll.me/5803718 which one will be picked at the end.
The first time we will go collect money in Ghent, on 12/12. The second day we will go to De Schorre in Boom, on 19/12 where Studio Brussel is having their own event. You are all welcome on both days to do what we all love, fursuiting! And isn’t it a nice thing to help out a good cause in the meantime?
To summarize: Studio Brussel is organizing their ‘Music for Life’ event and we are attending by collecting money. Once in Ghent (12/12) and once in Boom (19/12). stansoftpaws and 
artistichooves are organising a furmeet in Ghent.
This is on saturday 17 October 2015, at 4pm. Meeting place at Gent-St-Pieters train station.
"We will meet at the station Gent-St-Pieters at 4pm and take the tram to the center of the city.
We will then take a tourist boat to explore the city (around 40 minutes for the tour). There are 20 spots for the boat for a total price of 125 euros (so 6,25 euros per person).
Afterwards we will go to a café on the Vrijdagsmarkt. No slot limitation for that part of course.
Don't forget your photocamera's & furbadges till then :)

Furmeet Japanse tuin Hasselt 06/09/2015 (a.k.a. PCD meet)

Suffering from PCD after EF? Or just want to meet up with fellow furries?
This weekend there is a cosplay event in the Japanse tuin in Hasselt. It’s the ideal opportunity to meet up in a unique environment, especially for the fursuiters.
We meet up this sunday, 6th of September, in the garden, starting from 14:00h. Everyone is free to drop by whenever they want, and the fursuiters can enjoy some fursuiting.
There is parking space nearby at the PXL campus or at the Koning Boudewijnlaan.
It’s also a short walk from the Kolonel Dusartplein for the people coming by public transport.
At 18:00h we will then go to Hasselt, which is a short walk, where we can eat pancakes or have a drink. This is with an open end, everyone is free to leave whenever they want.
If you like to join us for pancakes, please subscribe ASAP by leaving a comment below, so we can reserve places for the right amount of people. Due to this, we do expect you to come if you subscribe!

Just a quick reminder that after this weekend no one can subscribe for the zoo meet anymore. We also expect everyone on the attendee list to be there! This is because we want to avoid trouble with the zoo and the restaurant concerning reservations.
People on the waiting list are, of course, also welcome to join us!
We kindly ask for everyone to bring the right amount of cash for the zoo, the guided tour and the restaurant so things can go smoothly.

Zoo meet 1/05/2015 --UPDATE--

Maybe you already noticed, but we already exceeded our 20 persons limit for the guided tour at the zoo. Due to this, we have to use a waiting list, wich can be found in the original journal, beneath the attendee list. https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6651584/
From now on, everyone who wants to join will end up on this list.
When people cancel, the first one on the waiting list will take their place, and so on.
If you’re on the waiting list, that doesn’t mean you can’t come to the zoo, you’re more than welcome! The guided tour only lasts for 90 minutes, and after that there is plenty of time to join us and walk around the zoo as one group. For dinner there are still some places left. So don’t let the waiting list discourage you!
Also, on friday 24 april the subscriptions will close! After this date we can no longer take more people. We also expect everyone on the attendee list at that time to be at the zoo!

Do you want to experience the zoo behind the scene?
What a coincidence, we are organising a furmeet in the Antwerp Zoo!
When: Friday 1st of may, at 12.30h
Where: We gather in front of the main enterance, right next to train station “Antwerpen Centraal.” This is at Koningin Astridplein 20-26, 2018 Antwerpen.
The best way to get there is by train. We don’t recommend to go by car.
The plan: We first start with an exclusive guided tour behind the scenes of the zoo. This will last for about 1,5h. After that, we’ll have plenty of time to visit our favorite animals.
At 19.00h, we go to Amadeus, a famous spare-rib restaurant, to end the day.
Cost: Enterance of the zoo will cost €19,50
The guided tour will cost €3,75
The restaurant: depends on what you eat. (check the menu)
We only have 20 places for both the guided tour and the restaurant, so don’t wait too long to subscribe. On the other hand, we need at least 15 persons to qualify for the reduced group tarif. People who have a zoo-subscripion pass don’t have to pay the enterance fee, of course.
If you apply, please mention if you join us for dinner or not, so we can make the reservations.
Sadly, fursuits are not allowed on this one!
Please note that all free spots for the guided tour are full! You can still join us for the zoo, but you will end up on a waiting list for the tour.

Finally we have a permit for the furmeet in Hasselt!
This means the meet will take place (with some delay) at sunday 28/09/2014.
Time of meeting: 13:00h
Place of meeting: The parking lot @ Kolonel Dusartplein, Hasselt
We'll wait approx 30min for everyone to arrive and get dressed, and then we start our route through Hasselt.
After the walk, at about 17:00h, we'll then go to "het Borrelhuis" for some pancakes.
After that, the meet is "officially" over, but no one stops you guys to go have some dinner or stroll around at the fair. That's completely up to you.
We know that the meet is already in a few days, but we hope to see you all there.

Just a little reminder for our bowling meet this weekend!
When: This saturday 17/05/2014 at 16.00h. Fursuiters need to be there at 15.30h.
We have to fit in a tight time schedule, so please be on time!
Where: Antwerp Bowling, Blancefloerlaan 181b, 2050 Antwerpen (linkeroever).
People coming by public transport: Trams 3, 5, 9 and 15 stop right in front of Antwerp Bowling. You can take all of these trams right below Antwerp central station.
People coming by car: There is a parking on site (€2) and there is enough parking space in the neighbourhood. You can also park in front of the sports hall next to the bowling.
People who are coming are expected to pay the fee for the bowling. This fee depends on how many people will show up.

When: 17/05 at 16:00 we will commence bowling, but the furs who would like to suit should show up at 15:30 so they can suit up.

Costs: Price depends on how many furs will join us. Rent for 1 lane costs €23/hour.

Because our furmeets are becoming more and more frequent, with lots of people joining we figured it might be time for a Terms Of Service.
These are simple rules, but we'd just like to bring them out for everyone to read and to know what is and isn't acceptable for our meets!

Please note, that by coming to a meet, we will presume you have READ and AGREED to these terms of services!
Terms Of Services:
General rules:
- Please treat each other respectfully.
- You are liable for any damage you might cause.
- Harassment of any kind, including physical assault, battery, deliberate intimidation, stalking, or unwelcome physical attentions, will not be tolerated.
- Attendees of the meets are expected to behave themselves in a proper manner. (see above)
- Attendees under the age of 18 must be under supervision of an adult (parent, sibling or family member).
Clothing & decency:
- Wearing costumes, accessories or displaying items made out of real fur is not allowed.
- Sexual behavior that goes beyond a mere display of affection is not allowed in public.
- Blatant exposure of fetish gear is not permitted in public, even if it is part of a costume.
- Collars are allowed but only if worn tastefully.
- Harnesses are allowed if they fit the costume (canines such as huskies for example)
Take in account that the rules regarding clothing in this section are guidelines. Don't wear anything you wouldn't want your (grand)mother to see you wearing.
We're often in a public space so be responsible when you want to wear accessories.
Photography and video:
- You must ask permission to every attendee before photographing or filming them.
- If you do film/photograph attendees without their consent then you'll be asked to remove the pictures/footage.
Smoking, alcohol & other drugs:
- Smoking of tobacco (in any form) is permitted.
- It is not allowed to smoke near fursuiters if they are present.
- No-one under the age of sixteen is to smoke, and no-one is to knowingly purchase tobacco for someone under the age of sixteen.
- Public use of alcohol and/or drugs are strictly forbidden during the meets.
- No-one under the age of sixteen is to consume alcohol, and no-one is to knowingly purchase alcohol for someone under the age of sixteen.
- No-one under the age of eighteen is to consume strong liquor and no-one is to knowingly purchase strong liquor for someone under the age of eighteen.
- Alcohol is to be consumed in moderation. You are expected to drink responsibly. You will be held responsible for what you do, even when drunk!
- The possession, use or sale of illicit substances is expressly forbidden. Offenders can expect the police to be notified.
Weapons:
- Do not bring any kind of weapons, including look-alikes, replicas, tools and toys, to the meets.
- No water pistols, silly string, nerf guns, or any thrown or projectile-type toy may be brought to and used during meets.
- Mock fights, swordplay, fire breathing or any other dangerous activities are not allowed.
By attending any Befurs organized events you automatically agree to the terms of service and you confirm that you have read the terms of service.
Failure to comply to the terms of service will result in appropriate action.
Minor offences will result in a warning.
Repeated minor offences and major offences will result in either a temporary or permanent ban.
Anything deemed illegal by Belgian law will be reported to the police and will result in a permanent ban.
These decisions are non-negotiable and will by made be Befurs staff only.
Remember that these rules are not to offend or restrict you.
They are to ensure the safety of the attendees and to ensure that everyone can have a good time.

The days are getting longer, the weather is getting more sunnier. This means it’s time for another furmeet.
During the Easter weekend, on saturday 19th of April, There will be a fursuit walk in het Vrijbroekpark in Mechelen. Last time was a huge succes, so we’ll do this again!
We’ll meet up at the entrance of the park (Ridder Dessainlaan)at 13.00h. We will then wait approx 30min for everyone to arrive and get dressed, and then we’ll start our route through the park.
After the walk, we’ll have a drink in the city.
We hope to see you there!

Made In Asia

This is a heads up for you all that Made In Asia is around the corner!
Made In Asia is a anime/Japan convention where there will be a lot of cosplayers running around.
On saturday,the 15th of March, we can guarantee that there will be fursuiters walking around at the convention.
If you are interested in anime, Japanese curiosities, games and furs. Do join us!
The con will be held in Brussels Expo: Belgiëplein 1, 1020 Brussels in Hall 5.

You are only able to sign up if there's still room left! No more people will be able to join when we're full!
There is a maximum capacity of 20 people in the laser shooting arena. This means that you'll be denied access if you wish to join after all spots have been filled.
If you've taken a spot then you have untill wednesday 19/2/2014 to tell us if you won't be able to come. If by then you haven't cancelled then payment of €22 will be compulsory!

In total we collected €400 for "Make A Wish" and that's more then expected.
We from BEfurs had a lot of fun and we hope you all had a blast too.
The only downer of the day was the weather. It was a shame that we had to wrap it up before the end.

Tomorrow it’s time for our charity fursuit walk in Antwerp.
This means it’s time for an update:
We’ll meet at 13:00h at the enterance of “het steen”, in front of the statute of “lange wapper.” http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/F.....en_%281%29.JPG
Next, the suiters will get a chance to dress up.
After that, we’ll go walk around at the christmas fair.
At 18:00h the meet ends. Those who reserved a spot, can join us for dinner at “Amadeus” http://www.amadeusspareribrestauran.....rpen/info.html
We expect the christmas fair to be crowded, so be sure to go out in time. That way we don’t have to wait too long for everyone to arrive. It can be difficult to get into the city while the christmas fair is around, so be warned.
If you come by car:
If possible, try to avoid the city centre. There is enough parking space on “de kaaien”, next to the Schelde. The parking underneath “de Groenplaats” is also an option, but is very expensive.
The people who ordered a T-shirt, please don’t forget to bring 10€.

We are going to do this event in Antwerp, at the christmas-fair.
We'll meet at 13:00h at the entrance of het steen (steenplein 1, 2000 Antwerpen)
The suiters will then be able to suit up.
After that, we walk around at the fair and the old, touristical city center. To collect money for charity the suiters can, if desired, walk around with a collecting box or ask money for a picture and/or a hug. Other ideas for collecting money are always more than welcome.
Around 18:00h we're going to have dinner to end the day.
There are 10 spots available for dinner, so make sure to claim your spot in time.
We expect a lot of people at the fair, so we try to have one spotter per suiter. Let us know if you want to volunteer for that, we will be very grateful.
