Well actually a sobering up journal. XD

My old high school buddies invaded my house and made all sorts of good things to drink while we sat around and played Magic:The Gathering. It lead to lots of laughs (and a surprising amount of "that's what she said" jokes XD). I'm not one to usually get that hammered, but gosh, it was lots of fun to see them and for us to teach each other new drink mixes and try to beat each other with our new-made decks (and some old decks too-namely my elf deck, also known to my friends as KILL IT WITH FIRE NOW deck X3). We had vowed that once all of us got legal and were actually back to our hometown, we'd have a drink or two together, but this was a whole lot more fun than a drink at a pub or anything.

Welp, I'm gonna keep talking to my favorite man in the world and drink water until I pass out.

First of all, I'm back home for a while now. I did get my computer back, but it isn't quite working on the level it should be, so it probably will have to go back to the Geek Squad. But not for a little bit as it makes me happy just to doodle on it so as I need all the cheer I can get from the bad news I just got.
So I'm gonna be working at my own place and doing what I want- I will work on commissions too, but I just wanna let you all know if I post personal stuff, don't worry, your stuff is coming too. I just needed to do something for me.

I just learned today that my dog that I had for 14 years just passed away. She had multiple issues, but it was old age that finally took her. I will definitely miss the puff now that she's gone. She was my Christmas present when I was in 2nd grade, moved with us when we came to Cali, and eventually then moved to. She was always a troublemaker though always would come to see if I was ok if I was upset. She was spoiled rotten and gave us many a headache. She would greet you every time you came in, barking up a storm at the door if out or whine like crazy if stuck in her crate. She didn't really like strangers, but you could make good friends with her if you gave her table scraps. She was an expert popcorn-catcher, though if she missed, she'd try to become a vacuum. She was a barbie doll leg amputation monster and the worst kind of lap sitter imaginable (only sitting on your lap if your feet were stretched out on the recliner). She wasn't that obedient, but she learned tricks like nobody's business if "people food" were on the line and I was the one asking her. I could go on and on about all she was, but the bottom line is: she wasn't perfect, but she was mine.
RIP Trix. You'll be missed dearly.

So I forgot to actually do a report on Califur, so here's one while I'm exhausted from not sleeping for over 24 hours. @.@

It was fun to see several people, but I wish I could have brought along some more of my friends as well as I wish I was better at suiting for long periods of time (because I was overheating rather quickly). Very glad I brought food as I mostly ate that the entire time I was there (the rest was people nicely giving me food out of the kindness of their hearts ;w;) so I didn't have to buy anything but COFFEEEE.

The conbook was disappointing (PLEASE bring back the anybody art and the stories. They were why I wanted a conbook, not the badly cropped map. Also need map of convention center >U). Also needed it to be in a place that you could easily get to, not waaaaaay back where it was. The conbadges I actually liked, except pleasepleaseplease don't put my real name on it if I asked you not to. I hate letting the whole furry populous know my full real name because then they think it's ok to call me that instead of my always used nickname (like even my teachers at school call me Bell). My real name is reserved basically for old friends, family, and Oscar.

I bought 2 things- a grabbag from balaa (So. Much. Pretty. Stuff.) and then one of those inkbloch badges from Mitt0i. (Cuuuuuute<3). Didn't want to spend too much as I was kinda broke, but what I got made me happy. :3

I actually barely made money there instead of going into the red because I sat at artists alley for a couple hours and did $5 sketches and badges. Also got to do a ref for one of the roommates. C:

I liked the look of dealers den, but good god, the art auction needed LOTS of help. I was somehow scared to venture in because it was just weirdly off to the side, and there was no real sign going "Hey, this is the Art Auction, come look". Also needs better way to get into the 18+ side as the curtain caught on my ears ;w;

Roommates were excellent, than you guys for being awesome.
There were some small problems, but in the end some sleep seemed to solve things.

As for events, I got REEEEEEEEALLY tired of how dragged out the cabaret- so much so I just left during the intermission. Someone needs to teach the announcers timing because just standing on stage doing nothing or jibberjabbering was just boring when you went to see a SHOW. Don't get me wrong-I like Raven, but during the main show GET ON WITH IT.

I wanted to get to the dance on Sat, but things didn't turn out that way.
Didn't get to any of the talks, but that's partially because I couldn't find my way to the first one so I gave up on the rest of them. Again, NEED MAP.

As for the fursuit parade, it was pretty fun except WHY DIDN'T WE GO THROUGH THE ENTIRE DEALERS DEN???? I nearly wandered off because I was sure that the quick turn was wrong. Also please please please when you're lining us up, please just lightly move the suiters with a hand on the shoulder. We can't see what everyone else is doing as we all have limited vision, so why you think you can yell "Move that way!" and point with your human finger and we would know where you wanted us to go, you are very sadly mistaken. So seriously. Just line us up like a bunch of blind balls of fluff-and do the multiple lines like you did last year.

So yeah, fun, but needs LOTS of improvement (strangely quite a bit is go back to old version-it was better).
