Home!
Posted 13 years agoWell I'm home again.
The New York trip was fun. Blue and I got to meet
and he was able to hang out with us for part of the day. Blue and I got to have a taste of authentic New York style pizza right before seeing "Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway. We didn't get to see all the sights we wanted since we were only there a short time, but we did go to the Empire State building and went up to the 86th floor at night and saw the city lit up from the observation deck. All in all it was a fun trip, even if we had a major layover at the airport on the way home.
Today I just returned from California after spending the week with Blue for his birthday. We had fun at Disneyland, California Adventure and even spent one day at Universal Studios Hollywood. I had never been there before so that was a cool experience for me. I enjoyed the back lot tour, especially seeing the house from the movie "Physco". We even saw Norman on the front porch as we drove by! YIKES!! We went on the other attractions too; my favorite would have to be "The Mummy" they had the creepy factor just right on that ride! I even made it through the "Jurassic Park" ride (water ride) without freaking out, though I lost my hat on that ride. Oh well, I ended up buying a new one during the Halloween party at Disneyland.
Like all fun times, they have to come to an eventual end though and like I said before, I am home now. Looking forward to MFF next month.

Off Again
Posted 13 years agoWell I'm flying off to California in a few hours, I'm sure you can guess why. I'll journal about this trip and the New York trip when I get back.
So Many Things
Posted 13 years agoWell after FA's outage and general craziness at work I finally have a moment to journal.
The trip was great! Driving to Chicago wasn't as big a deal as I though it would be, other than my GPS having me get off the interstate and go through downtown in the early afternoon. What a zoo that was! I made it through and met up with Dineegla and Muscle Wolf. It was great to see them again. We didn't plan a whole lot of activities but I did get to see the museum that Dineegla works at and we got to go to Aww Yeah Comics which I really enjoyed. I also got to meet another local furry there
who was a very nice guy.
I really just enjoyed going, talking with and hanging out with them. It was a very nice couple of days. On Thursday we went out to lunch at CiCi's and snagged a little pizza for on the way home, and then departed for home, and I'll be if my GPS didn't do the same thing to me again on the way home. It had me get off the interstate, for no apparent reason, in downtown again. Oh brother! Other than that the drive back was easy.
Since the trip things have been busy at work as usual and I've been gearing up for my fall travel season, and looking forward to seeing Blue again. More on that stuff later. Other than that more art to come.

Road Trip
Posted 13 years agoPost Comic Con
Posted 13 years agoWell it was a bit of a rough trip starting out.
First, the pick up service I was using to drive me to the airport failed to show up. I called the business and the call was forwarded to the general manager. He wasn't able to reach the driver so he told me to contact him after I get back in town and he would reimburse me for the airport parking. So I drove to the airport and made it through check in and security.
I had a connecting flight in Houston and all was going smoothly until we noticed that it was almost 20mins past take off time and we hadn't fully taxied to the runway yet. Turns out the AC unit on the plane wasn't working so we had to go back to the gate for maintenance to work on it. While they were doing that we had to sit on the plane. Long story short we sit there for 3 hours while they had to replace the AC unit, then we finally get airborne.
After getting to California I was met by Red and Blue at the airport. We dropped off my luggage at Blue's place and went for some much needed food, then we saw the new Spider Man movie. Then back to Blue's house for some rest. The next morning we packed up the car and headed for San Diego. On the way we stopped and had breakfast at a new Bob's Big Boy restaurant that just opened.
After the drive we checked in at the hotel and went through Comic-Con registration. After a pricy lunch we went on to convention center and enjoyed the preview night. It was totally crowded there inside the convention center and in the downtown area. Each day of the convention was more crowded than the last one it seemed.
At the convention we got to go to a few panels: Tuff Puppy/Fairly Odd Parents; Spongebob Squarepants; Wreck It Ralph; DC Comics: Green Lantern/Justice League; Image Comics, etc. I spent way to much money in the exhibit hall too. Got comics and trade books, some art supplies and a few cool autographs. The best that I got was from Shane and Chris Houghton, the guys that did the 'Reed Gunther' comics. I was really pleased to meet them! I also saw a favorite comic artist again, Ed Luce, at the Prism Comics booth. I even bought a doll kit he was selling for his 'Wuvable Oaf' comic series. Hopefully I can stitch it together. Blue and I were even able to hang out with
cyberbear for a while which was a fun treat.
Sunday night we had dinner together and went and saw the new "Ice Age" movie too. It was pretty funny.
After the convention was over we went back to Blue's place and spent the day there playing games mostly. I showed them a fun card game called "Aquarius" and we also played a few games of "Scrabble" too. Then the next day it was planes and airports until I got home around midnight that night.
All in all it was a good trip! I'm recounting everything we did but I think that this will give you a good snapshot of what went on.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Off to the Convention
Posted 13 years agoSo Much to Do
Posted 13 years agoand so little time!
Well tonight I'm making a trip back home to Tennessee; I get to enjoy a 7 hour car ride down and then back on Friday night. Oh well, I can give my mom her mother's day gift and I can see my dog. (I'm really more excited to see my dog than my mom. Yes I know, I'm terrible.) Well hopefully things go alright; and this time it should be easier since I bought a new car. I guess this will be the big test to make sure I like it or not.
Also since I'll be in Tennessee this week some requests I'm working on are going to be on hold till I get back. I apologize to those persons that are waiting on pictures, I will get them done as soon as i can.

Just to Make You Aware
Posted 14 years agoI got a message from Blue and he won't be online tonight. He is having internet troubles at his place and should be back on tomorrow. Just a heads up.
The Mandatory Post MFF Journal
Posted 14 years agoI had a super swell time at the convention! I got to hand out with Blue, Dineegla, MuscleWolf, D'Bull, Weasel, and Max before the con and it was a blast! I got to see plenty of furs again like Raccoon Drew, Spike Tyranno, Captain Furry, Tevon, Sodalite, and Neonoa_E. I got to meet a lot of new furries too like: PoppaWolf and Granite, Hollie Hyena, Rhubarb Cub, Tiptoe, Shredded Wolf, Modem, and lots and lots of others! It would be nice if the con was longer so that everyone could hang out more but alas, the real world calls again.
Well I'll take this time to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving!

Posted 14 years agoYep so next week I'll be in California. I'll be with
blueeyedwolf for his birthday. I will probably pop on over the weekend but come Monday I will be gone. I'll see you all when I get back!

Posted 14 years agoTonight I have finally finished assembly on my new computer! It feels great to have it done at last. Sadly the weather has started to get to cool for me to be able to finish painting the case so I will have to settle for the deep purple that i managed to get on it. It didn't turn out to bad but there are plenty of imperfections in the paint job. Oh well, no big deal.
So far everything is working properly and I'm getting used to the Win 7 layout. Not much else to report other than vacation coming up in a few weeks but more on that later.

Since I Haven't Journaled In A While. . .
Posted 14 years agoand since several other people have done this thing, (http://www.signalpatterns.com/psych_central/) I thought I'd give it a look see. Here is what I got.
Aesthetic
You appreciate art, beauty, and design; you know that they are not superficial but absolutely crucial to living the good life. You have good taste, and you're proud of it. Those with a high score on the "aesthetic" trait are often employed in literary or artistic professions, enjoy domestic activities — doing things around the house — and are enthusiastic about the arts, reading, and travel.
You don't think it's pretentious to be moved by art and beauty. You're not one of those who believe it doesn't matter what something looks like as long as it does its job.
Original
You are constantly coming up with new ideas. For you, the world as it exists is just a jumping-off place; what's going on inside your mind is often more interesting than what's going on outside.
You don't feel that the road to success is to be a realist and stick to the program; you never stop yourself from coming up with new ideas or telling the world what you're thinking about.
Empathetic
You are in touch with your own feelings, which helps put you in touch with the feelings of others.
You don't buy the logic that your happiness comes ahead of everyone else's because unless you're happy you're incapable of making anyone else happy.
Conscientious
You feel it's important to work according to a plan and finish every task, to do things correctly and thoroughly.
You are not the kind of person who abandons a project before finishing it, or slacks off when you've lost interest.
Organized
You like to think a task through before you embark on it. If it's the slightest bit complicated, you make a list (even if it's only in your mind) and methodically work your way through it. When you have a goal in mind, you're not satisfied until you reach it.
You are not one of those people who ignore the details, and you don't understand how anyone can get anything accomplished without thoughtful planning ahead of time.
Calm
You rarely become irritated, generally accept people as they are, take things as they come, and feel relaxed in most situations.
You do not let a minor annoyance escalate to a confrontation. You don't regularly snap at those around you or fly off the handle with little provocation.
Passionate
You are in touch with your emotions, and sometimes you react before you think. The good news: you don't tamp down your feelings. The bad news: you sometimes say or do things that you later wish you could take back.
You do not live your life on an even keel; you do not go for long periods without experiencing some mood swings.
Sympathetic
You have a knack for knowing what's going on in the hearts and minds of those around you, without their having to tell you explicitly. People tend to turn to you with their problems because they know you care, and that you will likely offer good advice and a helping hand.
You do not feel that people with sad stories are just looking for attention, or have brought their problems upon themselves.
Laid Back
You prefer to do your own thing, in your own way, rather than attempt to force your will, or your ego, on a group. You're happy working on your own, taking your sweet time, and focusing on the job at hand.
You're not pushy. You're not interested in imposing your will on others, taking charge of every situation, being the first to raise your hand in class, or insisting on being the winner of every argument.
Self-Contained
You like to stick to your own business and leave the power struggles to others; you know who you are and what you believe in, but you don't see any reason to impose your values on everyone else.
You generally don't get involved in organizing or motivating people, and you don't feel the need to always be seen as a big public decision-maker.

Trip Postmortem
Posted 14 years agoI am back in Indiana now after a night of driving in absolutely hot and humid conditions. Going down and back was pretty miserable, but I'm glad I choose to go at night since driving during the day would have only been even worse. Well I made it back to Tennessee without any issues and was greeted by my dog. He remembered me and was really happy to see me. I miss him already though. Then I was 'greeted' by mom who, as expected, monopolized my every second that I was there.
One nice thing is that my family got together on Friday night and we had a cookout which was surprisingly pleasant; all of my siblings were there, and we had a good time together. Other activities while I was home included: cleaning my dogs kennel, buying him a new food dispenser, and enjoying some play time with him. I also did some housecleaning for mom and helped her run some errands. It wasn't a big deal but I do wish she wouldn't have been so clingy. Oh well.
Overall I'm glad I made the drive; I know that I can make it there and back on my own with is a pretty big deal in my book. Now I just need to decide when the next time I go will be.

Leaving for a bit.
Posted 14 years agoNot for long, though. I'll be visiting back home in Tennessee this week. Probably heading out late Tuesday or early Wednesday and them returning to Indiana on Saturday. Hopefully I don't get lost or have trouble with my car. If I don't pop on tomorrow then I hope you all have a swell week.
Best Birthday Week Ever!
Posted 14 years agoThe title says it! It was a swell week that Blue and I had. I just wish it didn't have to end. *sigh* Oh well. I dropped him off at the airport a little while ago and his flight should be heading out shortly, and as for me it's back to work, starting tonight. I wanted to thank everyone on here for all the birthday wishes and pictures. I am very fortunate to have wonderful friends like you. Well I'm off to be now, see you all soon!
Be Back in a Week
Posted 14 years agoAs you probably saw from Blue's last picture, he is coming to visit me for my birthday. YAY! So we won't be on for the better part of the week. Pray that he has a safe flight in and that we both have a good time together.
Safe and Sound
Posted 14 years agoGolly what a night! First off I'm alright and so are my roomies. Shortly after I posted the last journal I got another call from my roommate who suggested that I drive up to the street to the office and take shelter. I decided to go ahead and do that so I unplugged my equipment and threw some clothes on and drove up to the office. It was really windy and I saw a lot of lightning flashes. The freakiest thing about the 5 min drive was the tornado sirens blaring. I made it to the office and got into the shelter with everyone else and was there for about an hour till the watch was cleared.
After we had the all clear I drove back home and found that our power was out. Not surprising considering the downed trees on the streets. I made it inside and chatted on my phone until the battery started going down. Then I slept for a few hours and watched more lightning flashes from my bedroom window.
Well now the power is back up and the storms seem to have passed. Now lets hope we don't have another one of those for a few weeks.

I Don't Mean to Worry Anyone . . .
Posted 14 years agoApparently we are under a tornado warning in my city. I also just heard from my roommate who is at the office that they have moved everyone into the tornado shelter up there. Remind me why I moved here again?

Ragetiger I don't normally do a lot of mems, but I'll give this one a go.
The Rules:
- You must post these rules.
- Each tagged person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal.
- You have to choose and tag 10 people and post their icons on the same journal.
- Go to their pages and tell them you tagged them!
1.I love cartoons. Just about any age, any style, any genre.
2.I adore veggie pizza!
3.I'm completely in love with
blueeyedwolf
4.I have currently own two cars.
5.I love Disneyland and I try to go every year with Blue.
6.I believe that handmade gifts are far more special.
7.I am a bit of a Suzie Homemaker. (cooking, cleaning, decorating, ect)
8.I love the feeling right after a heavy workout when I could just fall asleep where I stand.
9.I not only talk to myself, but I often answer myself also.
10.It takes me a while to warm up to people when I meet them. I'm always concerned I'll do something and make someone angry with me.
Well that's about it, though I don't think I'll tag anyone else for this as most people I know have already done it.

So things are going pretty well here in Indiana. I'm getting more used to the immediate area and relying less on my GPS now. Though there are some areas that I still use the GPS, especially when the highways are involved. So many highways and interchanges here it can be very confusing.
Life with my roomies is going very well. The three of us are cohabitating quite well, I just wish their male cat would stop hissing and swiping at me so much. He is very fickle, one moment he is brushing up against me then the next he hisses and tries to intimidate me. Oh well; though with their cats in the apartment it make me miss my dog back home. I will need to plan a trip back home here in the next couple of months to see him and the rest of the family.
Work is going alright. We are severely understaffed on the platforms that I deal with; the manager over the help-desk did tell me they were going to hire another 2 people on my shift so that will alleviate some of the stress on me. I do like the building that we are in also, except for the restroom situation. They are doing construction on the ones closest to my desk so I have to walk to the other side of the floor to use a bathroom. I'm hoping that they will wrap up construction soon.
Well my birthday is coming up later this month and I've ordered a small present for myself. A new keyboard for my desktop. The one I have now is kinda worn out. I also need to decide on what kind of birthday cake I want to bake for myself. I could do a chocolate chip cake again or maybe do a rainbow cake. The rainbow cupcakes I did a few months ago turned out really well.
Well that is all for now. Until the next time!
