Posted 12 years agoIt has been brought to my attention that I am new here and still learning etiquette. I have seen some people that thank everyone for a watch, and others that do not. I have seen some people request that they don't get thanked for watches and other get upset.
I don't know what to do yet.
However, I have had some new watches recently and I want to make sure that everyone knows I really do appreciate this. You guys have made me feel welcome and encourage me to do the things I love and have helped me get far enough that I now might be able to make a living drawing like I've always wanted to.
So, I feel I should put this out there as a general statement, to thank all of you for helping me, welcoming me, liking my stuff, encouraging me, and watching me.

I'm starting small at first, nothing too major and, for a while, just black and white. Once things get streamlined, however, I might work with my wife
evilbookworm86 and do color pieces. Those would be limited, because she's much busier than me and coloring can take a while on anything.
So, here's the info!

The list of things I am not comfortable drawing is small, but they include diapers, scat, cub, and the like. If I’m uncomfortable with something that you ask me to draw, I will let you know, but overall, I’m fairly laid back, and I will probably not take offense at anything that you request, I just might not draw it for you.
Payments are due through PayPal. Do not send any payments until you get a response from me accepting your commission request. Make sure to include just your FA username when sending payment.
I reserve the right to use the image in any way I see fit.
You can post your commission anywhere you want after you receive it provided all due credits (and a link to where you got it wouldn’t hurt either).
I’m opening for 15 slots a month. Each commission will be completed and digitally delivered by the first of the next month. The last day to get a commission in is the 20th of each month, so that I do have proper time to get it out as best I can. In February, the final day is the 18th (cause, c’mon, it’s a super short month).
If you’d like a commission send me a note. Feel free to comment here and talk out any ideas you might have, or just ask questions.

Just some updates.
Posted 12 years agoSo, I got my tooth out, and the infection and pain that accompanied it are going away. The healthier and more pain free I feel, the more my mind is waking up to creative things. I've got stories and pictures running through my head. I think what I'm going to do is draw for the next couple of weeks and post random things and just sort of have fun getting back to a happier place than I have been in the past few months. Things are improving slowly, and that makes me better and happier. Here in another month or so, I'll probably do at least one more free art raffle (cause I really enjoy them) and then I might open up for some actual monies commissions. I won't be the fastest, probably, but within a month, at least, for any commission. NO matter how fast I get something out, I feel bad that I didn't get it out fast enough. I've gotten enough feedback from people to suggest that, even if you pay, a month is not that long to wait for a commission, so that helps a little.
I want to thank you all again for your support. I still hate most of the things I turn out if I look at them again (with one or two exceptions) and I can feel the old "talent" coming back and see improvement just in the gallery I have here. So, if you've watched, thanks! I look forward to having more fun here and drawing like I used to - which is to say, all the fucking time.

Posted 12 years agoFinally got some more time to work tonight. Been a crazy couple of weeks. The really good news is that I should be able to finish the commissions out tonight. Three weeks for three commissions doesn't seem that terrible.
I mean, it's not HORRIBLE anyway.

I don't know how long a commission usually takes to do, but I feel guilty if I don't get it out within 24 hours. Anyway, things have been busy for various IRL reasons (whee! The ER is fun!) but I am working on stuff and will get them out. This is pretty much why I haven't tried to sell anything yet.

It's that time again!
Posted 12 years agoI'm feeling artsy. I generally feel fartsy, but I'm old and it has nothing to do with drawing. So, here we go, kiddos! I'm doing some more free art. My goal is to start getting paid commissions, but I like to draw, and now that I'm doing better, I see that it's more fun, I miss it, and I'm starting to improve again.
This time, I'm giving away 3 free arts.
Neat, huh?
Here's some rules on this raffle. They're short and sweet. I promise I'm not a hard ass or anything.
Rule 1 - The Rules About My Drawing: I do black and white art. Either sketches, or pencil renderings, or nice little inked pieces of art (I say nice, but I'm still learning in the inking department,however for a novice I'd like to say I'm not terrible, though I'm sure I am). I'm pretty color blind, so color isn't my thing. I mean, I can see color, but I've been known to color hair with what I think is brown and have people tell me I've made all the hair green.
Such is life.
If you want color, go bug my wife evilbookworm86 and she might color something I've drawn for you if you're very nice to her. I don't know.
Secondly, I draw a lot of stuff. I can draw boobies and cocks and stuff, and I can swear and shit, too. I'm not afraid of much, but there are some things I won't draw. Please, don't be shy. If you want me to draw something specific, ask. I'll tell you, in very friendly terms, that I won't draw it if I won't draw. The only thing that comes immediately to mind is scat and pee and the like. I'm not fond of it. I have some weird fetishes myself, so I don't condemn or judge you if you like that stuff, I just don't want to draw that stuff is all.
Rule 2 - Entering the Raffle!: To enter the raffle, simply re-post this journal on your own page. I like to get a little buzz going and such. Word of mouth sort of thing. Sure, it's a cheap grab for attention and watches, but I learned it from watching you, Furaffinity! I learned it from watching you!
Anyway, it helps to get me some people looking my direction and that's appreciated, so, please do that to enter the contest. You don't have to watch me. That's not a requirement, just a re-post of this journal here. If you like my stuff, feel free to watch, cause that's cool, but it's not required for the raffle.
Rule 3 - Don't Be a Dick: This rule is from Wil Wheaton. It doesn't really apply to contest, but I like this idea, and sometimes just feel the need to put it out there. I haven't encountered any dicks here yet, so that's awesome, but I like Wil Wheaton, and I like being silly and random, so there it is.
Rule 4 - Winning the Raffle: Next Sunday (May 26, 2013) I will hold a drawing. If only three people enter, then hey, you win. However, if more enter I will draw names from a hat randomly and your names will be posted. I want to make sure your art is good, but I don't want to take six or more months again, cause that's just dumb and a week seems a nice, reasonable time to turn out a great piece of art.

Posted 12 years agoI know it took a while, but the last four commissions are done. They will be uploaded soon, and some things will be fixed here and there with the help of my wife. I'm really sorry it took so long to get these out, but I'm doing better and I'm gonna start uploading more stuff soon. I hope you all enjoy your art, and I'll try another raffle again as things progress, but for now I have a HUGE pile of projects awaiting my attention.

I'm not dead!
Posted 12 years agoTo those few, wonderful people who have followed me, you may have noticed that nothing has happened on my page for some time. I'm afraid real life has been unmercifully kicking my ass. I've been very sick, both mentally and physically and various other real life issues (that really bash at the mental part of my illness) have just been terrible and I haven't been able to turn anything out.
I really am very sorry.
Do not fret if you are on the list of people expecting commissions. You WILL get them. It may not be in the most timely manner (like, y'know, the way it is already) but they ARE coming. I will finish what I owe, cause that's who I am, and I plan on doing more as time and ability allow. I have greatly enjoyed what I've done so far, and the feedback has been wonderful, so thank you all very much.
Again, I'm very sorry for the delays, but I have not forgotten you, died, or just left for no adequately explored reason.

Commission Updates
Posted 13 years agoSo, I'm halfway done with the first round of commissions. 5 more to go on the official list, and then 5 more after that for unofficial free second round cause I feel like being nice. I want to take the time to thank you all for being so supportive. I will continue trying to do my best and I can promise you that there are a couple of pictures that I'm going to work on again in the future when I have time. However, since starting this, I have been tapped a couple of times over for various projects. I will endeavor to finish the last of the first round stuff as quickly as I can, but it might be down to 1 a week for the last of them since I am now working on a comic with my wife and a few of my own personal projects that people are now asking me for.

Raffle Update
Posted 13 years agoJust wanted to drop a short note to let you all know that, yes, I really am working on the raffle pieces. This week though, sadly, has kicked my ass. Had to take three days to get the car fixed, bills, house stuff, and all that leads to my depression totally taking over. That being said, even with everything I have been sketching on working on ideas for everyone. I am about a day away, give or take, from finishing Shikon's first picture.
Oh yeah, there's that too.
Since you guys have been so awesome and supportive, and I WAS going to do a total of 15 pieces, the first 5 people on the list get TWO pieces instead of one.

Raffle Results!

We have 9 winners total and, as I stated in my second journal, it's on a first come first sever basis, so starting tomorrow or Monday I will get started on the pictures. What I need from you guys (and if you don't get in touch with me, I'll drop you a line) is what you would like in your picture. If you're not picky, that's fine, but I'm looking for if you'd like a certain pose, anthro or otherwise in the case of say a full dragon or dog or something, cartoony or realistic, heroic, what have you. Last Night for Art GIVEAWAY!
Posted 13 years agoLast chance to get a piece of free art! I will work with you each in turn (first come first serve) to get the pieces done. I'm pretty determined to turn out a piece of art that is good and that you will enjoy in a timely fashion. This means do you want things like more realism, more cartoony, pencil sketch, ink, etc. I currently have 10 people who want a piece of art from me. I had meant to have 12 pieces total for this first run on different sites. No one else posted anything on any of the other sites. So, since you guys have shown wonderful support and kindness, and I want to make a big impression, I am going to do 15 free pieces. Like I said, I've got 10 people currently who are getting pieces on a first come, first serve basis, so I am willing to add 5 more people to the list to get some free art.
Now, while it will take me a while (I've got some major brain problems, the biggest being depression, but I can do things for other people, so that sort of helps) I will do them as efficiently as possible. So, don't worry, I will get to you. This could take a month or better to get done, but, since I almost never leave the house (due to those wondrous brain issues) it shouldn't be a huge problem.
I really do want to thank everyone for the support and kindness and I hope to keep working here and possibly make some money doing something that, once I manage to actually get to the work, I really do enjoy.

So, long story short, I used to love to draw, then bad things happened and I stopped, but now I'm trying to start again. That means that I'm giving away some free art to people. 3 people to be exact. Now, there are some rules to what I will and won't draw, but it's fairly simple stuff.
First, I generally don't care too much about content. I'm pretty open to drawing almost anything. Hell, that's sort of half the fun is trying something new and finding references and really putting in the effort. Still, I have my limits. Things I won't draw include diapers, scat, cub, and the like. That being said, I will draw babies and baby furs, just not in any sexual way.
Second, you may see from my gallery that I really don't do color unless it's toony. My wife may be persuaded to do color (and you can find her work over at [link] ) and that would be a traditional sort of comic book style pen and pencil picture. So, my best stuff is just pencil or pen and pencil.
Third, you have to enter the raffle. To do that post this journal. I am trying to get a thing going here, so getting more people interested helps. Give me a watch, but, only if you like my stuff. Leave me a comment here with your character reference, maybe a picture of the character you'd like me to draw if you have one, and any other useful info.
