Discount on Commissions
Posted 2 months agoI have decided to place a discount on my Blender port commissions. For the rest of the month, commissions will be $20 as opposed to $30. Once September roles around, the price will be back at $30.
Commissions can be paid through my Ko-Fi page or via PayPal

Looking for help in making KM models
Posted 4 months agoFor a while I've been wanting to get into making KabalMystic models. My first attempt was a Wartortle that I posted on Smutbase, but it wasn't very good. I haven't been able to find much tutorials on the subject so I've had difficulty figuring out how to make a good model. I'd love some help so I can start making some better models. If anyone would be willing to help me out, feel free to send me a message, I'd greatly appreciate it.
SubscribeStar is Open!
Posted 8 months agoI finally got my Subscribestar account approved, so now it's free to be subscribed to. It's basically the same as my Patreon, but on a different site. It includes access to my Trello bars, where you can see the progress on my projects, as well as access to videos as well as discounts on commissions.

Closing Patreon
Posted 9 months agoIn my last journal I mentioned you could support me through Patreon. That is no longer an option. I found out that my content on there was leaked, so I decided to close the account.
I am likely to move to SubscribeStar, but am still waiting to get approved. If that doesn't work, I'll look for alternative methods.
In the meantime, I am working on an updated tutorial for my rigify method, since 4.0 changed the way some of the things worked, and will add some new things I have learned since making the previous video.
As far as the whole piracy thing goes, if anyone has any tips on how to prevent leaks, please let me know so I can make sure to implement higher security going forward.

Commissions Will Close August 9th
Posted a year agoDue to classes starting soon for me, I'm going to have to close up commissions soon. August 9th will be the last day to order commissions. In case anyone's been wanting to have their models rigged for Blender, I'd recommend getting them quickly.
If you haven't seen my previous journal, I have lowered the price of rig commissions from $40 to $25.

Commissions Price Drop
Posted a year agoWhile I'm not doing public model ports (besides the occasional updates), I am still doing commissions on my Ko-Fi page. I've decided to lower the price from $40 to $25. This is not a sale, this is now going to be the new price for my commissions. The rigs made in these commissions are the same type of rigs I have been posting on Smutbase.

New Way to Get Tutorials
Posted a year agoI've realized that Patreon hasn't been a very popular way to access my tutorials. Especially when I don't release them that often, $15 a month sounds a bit much. I've now created a Gumroad store where all my tutorials can be bought through one-time purchases instead of subscription based. As of right now, I have the rigify tutorial up and my old eye tracking tutorial published on the store.
You can visit the store here: https://blendrdragon.gumroad.com/

Explaining My Absence (plus a big change)
Posted a year agoIf you noticed, I haven't been as active as I have been. I've gone from pumping out models nearly every day to barely posting one in a month. The reason for this comes down to one thing: BURNOUT.
I've enjoyed making Blender ports, but it's honestly gotten kind of tiring. I'm glad many have enjoyed the rigs I've released, but it can get real tiring really fast. I've also been wanting to branch out to other 3d aspects for a while, such as rendering and animation. I've been dedicating more time to learning these and have also been having a busier schedule lately.
So to be frank, I've decided I'm going to stop posting public models and only make rigs strictly for commissions. The models I have posted will stay up, I'm just not planning on putting out any new ones. I will still put out updates to rigs if any are needed as well. I'm sorry to do this, but I've just gotten tired of doing rigging so many times. It can be a very tedious process at times and I'd prefer to only do it if I'm at least making something off of it.
If you want a commission, you can order it off my Ko-Fi page (https://ko-fi.com/blendrdragon)
I also am now offering discounts to Patreon members.
As for what comes next. I'm going to be spending my spare time learning how to animate in Blender. I've grazed few a couple tutorials, but am going to a deep dive into the topic for once. It will probably be a while before I get the hang of it, but I'll be sure to post something once I make something at least somewhat presentable.

Rigify Tutorial Up On Patreon
Posted a year agoI've gotten a lot of messages asking how I make my rigs. I have now made a tutorial describing in detail how the process works. You can access it by subscribing to the Blender Master tier on my Patreon ($15/month). I plan on posting more Blender tutorials there as well.

Good News!
Posted a year agoIn regards to my previous journal, I have some good news to share. I managed to find a way to change my set up so that I can have some privacy while I'm working on my computer. Now I can get back into the swing of things when it comes to model making.
The Blender 4.0 issue still hasn't been solved yet, but I'll get to that another time.

Important Update (PLEASE READ!)
Posted 2 years agoHi Everyone,
I realize for a while now that I have been pretty inactive, especially seeing as my last post on Smutbase was over three months ago. As for why I’ve been so inactive, it’s been for a number of reasons.
Firstly, since finishing a majority of the rigs for WarfareMachine’s models, I have been pretty all over the place in terms of figuring out what to release next. I have been working on various projects since then, but I had to cancel many of them. This has been due to a variety of reasons from being unable to fix issues with some models to starting ports only to find out the model owner doesn’t want ports of them posted. For example, my most recent plan was to port all of Corvidius’s models (hence why the Falco model is my most recent post), but I ran into issues with a lot of the eye UVs and put them on hold until I could figure it out how to fix it (this is a common issue with porting SFM models unfortunately).
Second, a big obstacle for me right now is that I now have a roommate (as in someone I share an actual bedroom with). Due to this situation, I have been struggling to find time to work on my model porting due to the lack of privacy I currently have. I work with a desktop computer and have no other spaces to move it so that my screen can be out of sight from my roommate. I don’t know about you guys, but I personally just don’t feel comfortable working on NSFW stuff when someone else is watching. I have been thinking of ways to figure out what to do, but have not had any luck yet. If anyone has suggestions on how to attack this issue, please let me know.
On another note, a different issue I have come across is that the newest version of Blender does not meet the requirements of my computer. I own a Mac that was made around 2013 (I believe). I have actually run into this issue before with a previous update, though that time I was able to bypass the issue by hacking my computer with a newer OS. This time, the issue is due to the graphics of my computer, so I have no other option but to purchase a new computer if I want to use the latest version of Blender. Apple (being the greedy business company that they are) lists the latest iMac at $1299. Like most people, I don’t have that kind of money. Due to this issue, I am planning on setting up a financial system to help me get the money for a new computer (don’t try to convince me to get a PC, I’ve had them before, they suck). I don’t want to start a GoFundMe because I want you guys to actually get something back for donating. I’m working on building a Patreon, but still haven’t figured out the tiers yet. I would love to hear some suggestions if anyone has any.
That’s about all I have in terms of updates. I hope everyone’s been doing okay and be sure to reach out to me if you have any suggestions on the things I mentioned above.
If you need to contact me, feel free to reach out via my FA account or my Discord.

NOTICE: Commissions will close next week
Posted 2 years agoI thought I'd go ahead and let you all know that I plan on closing commissions by the end of the day on Friday, January 12th. If you want to buy a commission I'd suggest getting it sooner rather than later.

Commissions are Returning Soon!
Posted 2 years agoNext week I will be re-opening commissions. And because it's Christmas season, I've decided to hold a sale. Any commissions made before Christmas Eve will cost $25 rather than the usual $40 cost. More details will be coming once the time to open up commissions for now. In the mean time I have a google doc with info on how the commission process works.

What project should I work on next?
Posted 2 years agoI haven't posted anything in a while, mostly because I've been working on multiple projects and came through some setbacks. I'm planning on putting focus into a single project, but I need to know where the demand stands. I have created a poll and will start work on whichever gets the most votes. The poll will be open for 3 days, so it's best to get the votes in quickly.

An update
Posted 2 years agoHi everyone,
I've been quiet for a while so I thought I'd give some info on what's going on. I know I haven't posted any rigs in a while, though I plan to get back to that at some point. I like to ask for permission before making a model port to avoid any issues, and unfortunately I have yet to receive responses from some of the people I've reached out to.
As for current projects, I have been working on an MLP base for Blender. You can find it here: https://open3dlab.com/project/36962/
I figured some people may have missed it since it's on Open3dLab rather than Smutbase. I plan to make a few updates to that, and will probably make my own anthro version at some point.
On the NSFW side, I am working on making some ports for KabalMystic's models. I want to make a couple tweaks before I start the rigging process, so this one could take a while.
A note on commissions: I decided to close commissions due to my schedule. Being in school, it would be difficult to keep up with my classes and get rigs out in a timely matter at the same time. I will probably open them back up in December when I have more free time.

Commissions are Here!
Posted 2 years agoAfter much hesitancy, I have decided to give commissions a shot. I am offering the option for you to get your model set up with the rigify rigs I have made for several different models. (https://smutba.se/user/124622/) I can't guarantee how long I will do this, but here's a few basic notes:
Blender Ports are $40 (spines are $5 extra)
I am only offering two slots at a time (don't want to overwhelm myself)
Models must be sent in .blend (3.4 and below only), .fbx, or .dae
Payment is made through ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/blendrdragon/commissions
For more info, check here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/.....it?usp=sharing

Status update
Posted 3 years agoI just posted a haul of models I've finished on Smutbase (Klem, Maomi, Faraday, and LOP). Feel free to check them out and let me know if there are any rigging issues.
As for future models, I have been working on Fox McCloud, the issue is that the UVs aren't set up correctly. Unfortunately my computer cannot run SFM so I can't use that to fix it. If anyone that uses SFM could send me a front-view screen shot of the Fox model in SFM with the eyes set up correctly that would be greatly appreciated. Message me on my discord if you'd be willing to help (my Discord is listed under my contact info on my profile). I haven't been working on any other models yet. I've run across a lot of issues with older models where the breast bones don't work, not sure how to fix that. I'm thinking of working on models from other artists (Petruz and Kabalmystic are the first to come to mind). Let me know in the comments or DM me any suggestions you have.
To answer a couple questions...
I've gotten a lot of questions about commissions. I currently do not do commissions. I just want to do what I want right now. I probably will do them in the future, but don't feel like it right now and I also have no idea what payment system to use. Once I figure that out I'd be open to commissions.
I have fixed the Discord server invite link. I didn't realize that links had expiration dates, so that's been fixed. The link is in the previous journal post.

Discord Server Suggestions
Posted 3 years agoSo, I'm thinking of opening up a discord server to give out updates on my projects and get help on certain things. I'm still unsure on somethings, such as what channels to include and rules for the server. I'd love to hear comments on what I should do with the server. I'll allow about a week for suggestions.
