'Twas fun while it lasted
Posted 2 years agoI was a fool to think I would be welcome to return to posting regularly on this website. Now, my artwork falls under the "looks like a minor" policy update, which is absurd, narrow-minded, and is only going to increase the ever-growing hate that has been building over the past few years. We've seen people attacking feral nsfw over and over, now FA itself has decided to strike down anyone that draws characters such as Mew, and probably Shaymin. This isn't just going to change the community, it's going to force people to change their art styles, it's going to ruin people's creativity, it's going to destroy the community's diversity.
You're trying to stop something that you already have the means to put a stop to yourselves - by reading your report tickets, by looking into the cases like a real team should. But even then, you would just judge based on your own opinions. Every attempt to put logic into this centers it back to the truth - you have invited into your team people who are awful judges of character, people who are elitist, narrow minded, people who are poisoning this community.
This website has fallen to ruin, and I refuse to let people imply I am a terrible person for drawing something that they think is an underage character just because it looks cute. I will keep drawing Mew, and I will keep drawing Shaymin, they are not children, they're just small. Banning me for drawing these characters is indirectly suggesting I would do terrible IRL things, and in doing so, you are helping the vocal minority. If I cannot post them here, I will post them elsewhere.

2020 update part 2

lately i've become accustomed to saying less than i think, which is nice because I can just let my artwork speak for itself
i'm pretty happy with what i've done with my artwork this year.
i really did try to keep commissions open for as long as i could this year. i don't think i could've kept them open any longer, I was having personal problems at home. not so much anymore, though, so i'm thinking of reopening!
I hope you who are reading this have kept yourselves safe!

I moved house recently. I've lived in the previous one for 20 years. It's very alien to me but I decided as long as I have internet and my pc I'll be fine.
I guess I underestimated just how much I'd miss home. There's a lot of love and fond memories that have just been sold to complete strangers.
I also have less friends here. I'm in Southwest England, in Devon. The Pokémon Go communities here all died in 2016, the furry communities have all moved on... There's so many abandoned Twitter accounts dedicated to Southwest Pokémon fans and furs from a few years ago.
Basically, I got here too late.
Though that doesn't change anything from how I lived before, I was sorta hoping to make a change.
It's not a huge deal, just a bummer.
That's ok though. I'm ok with sticking to my usual daily routine.
All of the Commissions on my previous journal have been completed, save for a few emojis. I update Twitter more than FA. Go follow me there!

Artwork Improvements
Posted 6 years agoIt's been a while since I last posted artwork. But I've still been sketching things, and studying ways to improve.
I'm slowly making progress, working on anatomy, trying to change the way I draw faces, bodies, and the level of detail in the characters I draw. I enjoy this, as it allows me to experiment with new ways to express myself, and there's no pressure.
I always look forward to the moment I post something that comes after a long hiatus for improvements.
That being said, I'm thinking about opening up commissions again soon! I really seem to enjoy drawing for others. It's very flattering and humbling
I'd love to know if there's anyone out there who'd be interested in seeing some more anthro stuff from me ~ of course, feral will always be my area of expertise.
Looking forward to posting artwork again, hopefully soon ❤️

Posted 6 years agoMerry Christmas to all who celebrate it, and thank you -- to those who supported me with kind words in my journals, your comments definitely helped me feel better.
As I said before, it really has been a bad one. I'm thankful to have friends like Paper-Wings and IceShadow13 who were there for me when I needed them. And my clients this year have been so pleasant and understanding towards me, not to mention patient.
I don't want to blindly say "2019 will be better", I want to say it with goals in mind. Things that I can achieve, look back on when the year is over, and say "that's definitely a plus".
I feel that my artwork is becoming stale, and needs another upgrade, so that's one of my goals for 2019.
My birthday is also coming up (January 7th) and I tend not to look forward to them too much. I just hate getting older, haha.
If I had to say one good thing about this year, I'd say... at least I'm slightly better at drawing more anthro-like characters.
That's all I have to say for now. Have a Happy New Year everyone <3

Finding My Bearings
Posted 7 years agoLately, I've been reading all the comments on my artwork. It helps me feel motivated, and I'm looking forward to posting art again.
I tend to worry that somewhere out there, someone is thinking bad things of me for taking such a long hiatus. All I can say to that is I'm sorry, but please try to have empathy.
This whole year, I feel like I've been given back-to-back struggles, and it's hard to simply maintain the positive energy I usually have. It's been a bad one, no joke.
But I want to swing back. I want to spend time on something, and I want to feel excited to post it knowing people will enjoy it.
That's always the most flattering part of being an artist, for me; seeing that people enjoy what I do.

Getting Better
Posted 7 years agoWhen I posted my last journal, my mental health was cripplingly low.
Things have improved since then, and I'm getting ready to resume the commissions I have outstanding. I've been honing my skills -- the day I open for anthro commissions draws nearer.
I've been doing what I can to relax. I've had lots of support from friends. The comments in the previous journal were heartwarming.
When I'm better, I wish to do something small for each person as a sign of appreciation.
Outstanding commissions will now be bumped up by one tier as thanks for being patient and understanding. Anything not yet paid for is now going to be done for free.
Thank you for your support, everyone. I'll do my best to be my old happy self again ASAP!

Posted 7 years agoI was thinking of taking a hiatus when they said my dog only has a few months left to live, but I decided not to, and to keep trying to improve my artwork whilst staying strong.

I don't usually make journals like this, but I feel so happy that I need to express it this time!
