An explanation [Personal, but important]

zzyzx and I have with the fandom, particularly online, there's been an incredible amount of...shall we say...speculation surrounding our break up.
Given that shi and I are actually making a tremendous effort to try and manage things peacefully and nicely, and given the reactions and...occasionally...less than kind words that have been spoken to or about one or the other of us, I feel it necessary to clear a few things up.
One, yes, we broke up, roughly 7 months ago. We have remained thusfar in the same apartment, in separate bedrooms, because of our children. That will be changing in short order, as I will be moving into my own apartment, with the kids.
Two, yes, the separation was initiated by me, for reasons that will remain between Zzyzx and I, other than those close to us whom we choose to tell.
Three, yes, a divorce will be ensuing. However, this has been agreed on by both of us, and it will be a peaceful, reasonable dissolution of our marriage. Neither of us intend to make this an ugly affair.
Fourth, yes, I will be taking full custody of the children, but I am not 'keeping them' from hir in any way. Visitation will be worked out and mandated in the divorce decree, and at a later time when there is possibility of her physical status or abilities changing, we will be considering partial custody.
Fifth, and this is quite important to note: WE ARE STILL FRIENDS. Yes, we have some terrible arguments and yes, this has been incredibly hard on both of us. But we are civil and nice to one another, and spend time together as such.
Lastly. We are BOTH seeing other people. That is not a reason to attack either of us, and it is our right. Additionally, please don't drag our names, or the names of those we are currently seeing, through the mud with the other person. It's just not nice, and won't win you points with either of us.
Given these things, I will go ahead and say that neither of us appreciate being snarked at, belittled, or snapped at because of our actions. We have made this amicable between us, and all it does is hurt our opinion of those saying mean things.

Life update- the world is...kind of leaving us alone.
Posted 12 years agoSo, in update to my last somewhat desperate journal. We've gotten a bit of help from family, and the enormous outpour of support about my mommy skills from my friends, both online and irl, has been heartwarming. :3 Thank you all, very much, for giving me so much love and reassurance. I very, very much appreciate each and every one of you. <3
Why can't the world leave us alone?
Posted 12 years agoEvery time we get into a position that is reasonable, and safe, and lets us provide for ourselves and our kids, something comes along and just fucks it all up again. I feel like I'm being slowly drowned, and whenever I finally kick my way to the surface, I get half a breath before I'm dragged right back down again.
I hate the feeling of not knowing what I'm going to do to survive...and it's a million times worse with the boys depending on me for everything they need. I'm terrified that I won't be able to provide for them like a good mother should...despite all my efforts, we never stay in a comfortable spot for long. We just get into that reasonable area for a minute before the rug gets yanked out from under our feet.
*curls up* I just...want to know it will all be okay.

Returning to Work + Health/Family Updates
Posted 12 years agoSo I've had a bit of a hectic/crazy/stupid several weeks, culminating in messing up my ankle this past Tuesday and having to go into the ER. So now that I'm effectively bed/chair ridden for the next 3-6 weeks, I'm hoping I'll be more productive art-wise.
To those waiting on their gift pieces- I am still working on all of them, and hopefully will be able to send several of you WIP's in the coming weeks. I have Easter coming up, with twins who just learned how to walk, while I'm on crutches, so I ask that everyone be patient with me.
Yeah, I dunno that anyone actually cares, but I thought I'd update you all. So yeah. Hope everyone is doing better than I am. xD

2 Year Anniversary!

To celebrate, we've got a sitter for the kids over the weekend, had dinner out last night, and are spending the day at the spa and shopping tomorrow!

The rules are very basic.
1. Advertise, advertise, advertise. The point of having a running pool is to get as many characters in it as possible, and we can only do that with your help. If you decide to post a pimpage journal, you have our thanks. Otherwise, spread the word in other ways, and encourage everyone you know who wants free art to add their name.
2. Watching this account is appreciated, and will enable you to see if your character was chosen. Those who we choose to draw will simply have artwork posted of them, so if you want to know about it, it's probably prudent to keep track of what I post.
3.Comment here with the following form filled out, so we have all the basic info we need about your character(s):

Posted 13 years agoSo today I'm 26. Spent the weekend at Comicon with Z and the boys, and now I'm looking forward to a nice, relaxing couple of days as a couple friends babysit the boys through Tuesday evening. Maybe catch a movie, go out to dinner, and lounge around lazily alot. ^_^

Shi is sweet, and caring, and is always there when you need hir. Shi loves unconditionally, and has always given freely of hirself to whomever needed hir warmth. Shi has taken care of me from the moment shi met me, and given me the most precious, wonderful years of my life.
Shi has not only been a kind, loving momma, shi has been a strong and incredibly forgiving mate. Shi has given me two beautiful pups, to whom shi has given hir best since the moment they were born.
I know there are many of you who consider hir your momma too. And I'd like to ask you to take a moment today to remind hir just how special and loved shi is.
