Humm so I've been inactive for a while and want to explain a bit...

I'm living with my parents at the moment and have my computer set up on top of a cardboard box in the attic. If I want to draw, I have to sit on a cushion on the floor with my tablet on my lap... not super comfortable! It was giving me back problems and leading to bad art quality, so my drive to draw has really tanked. I'm also busy job hunting so I can get my own place sooner! I want to focus on that, and the life changes that will come with it, so I'm leaving FA until I'm back on my feet. I don't know how many weeks or months it'll be before I feel like I can sit down and draw properly again.

I love drawing, but for me it is a time-consuming hobby rather than a valid career option. And so, I'm saying goodbye until further notice. I'd really love to stay in contact with the friends I've made here, so if anyone wants to add me on Telegram, my username is just BlueFinch, same as here ♥

In other news~ My rat Twig is a lot better, his abscess burst on it's own (super gross) and he has antibiotics to take care of the infection. Yay!
Also I went to Paris for a week for our family holiday and that was cool. Spent every day walking everywhere so not particularly relaxing for the body, but my mind is refreshed!

Soo I've been a bit absent this past week, sorry bout that...

Some things that have happened:
- Pet rat Twig got ill, was worried sick about him (he seems to be a little better lately)
- Brought home two more baby rats so my other boy wouldn't get depressed if Twig died (pics later)
- Moved house (back with parents...)
- Job hunting (unsuccessfully)
- Had birthday yesterday (there was cake)
- Got my results! Graduated with a 2:1 ^^

Typing this on mobile as my computer isn't set up yet :P

Hopefully will be able to get my tablet back out by Wednesday! Many apologies to those waiting for art... orz

Soo I'm away this weekend and I want some stuff to draw when I'm back (after I finish my to do list haha)

I can't draw anything at the moment, even thinking about picking up my tablet makes me anxious :/

I'm starting a sketchbook to try and get past it, a friend made the interesting suggestion that I draw in pen so I can't be a perfectionist about it.
We'll see how it goes :P

In the meantime I'll be active still just not uploading art
(Art block can't stop me from admiring all of your lovely work!!)

One of my greatest struggles is shading, so I'm wondering if anyone has their own tips and tricks to share?
Every artist has their own way of doing things, and what works for one person may not work for another, but I would still like to hear it!

That's how I feel rn... I keep trying to improve but I'm getting nowhere, not only that but I'm getting worse *cry*
I don't know how to get better and it's the most frustrating thing
Everything's always so inconsistent

I don't actually have any natural talent for this stuff, I just kept at it for years and only recently got confident enough to show it to people
I have a terrible eye for colours and it all looks bad

I planned a short trip around the UK with a few of my friends. We're visiting Bath, Oxford, Liverpool, Coventry, London and Brighton in 5 days, it's gonna be intense!
I'm not bringing my sketchbook this time, I think I'll be too tired at the end of each day to do anything other than sleep :P
