first artwork
Posted 11 years agoWell, I posted my first piece of art here, then I colored it and posted that: A picture that I drew of Havik, the Red Panda/Corgi (Pandog). I have gotten some feedback, but what really has me happy, is that Havik himself marked it as a favorite and said it was "cuuute" To me, that is the best compliment I could get! Maybe my art doesn't suck, as I have believed all my life.
At church, I teach 2 Sundays each month. This has been hard for me because I am not a stand up and talk kind of guy, I am a sit in the back behind a tall guy so I never get called on kind of guy. Yet after my lessons, people always come up to me and tell me good job. Maybe my speaking and teaching doesn't suck, as I have believed all my life.
The last few months for me have been a huge discovery of myself and my worth in this world. I don't suck. Not at anything I do. Except dancing. I have value and I can contribute worthwhile things to this world. I thank all my furry friends and family for helping me to find that value.

Fur meet
Posted 11 years agoI had a ton of fun at the picnic yesterday...and games at the bowling alley and milkshakes at Steak'n'Shake. Was feeling rather lonely and sad before that, but then seeing my friends (Freddy, Dingo, Lounx, Cef, Sovrim, Jade, and many others) just made my day and cheered me up.
My mom's birthday was today and, after lunch, I introduced her to Blue Stuart. I think she liked him.
This suit was to be my first, and merely a practice one...just a time to learn and perfect techniques, so my next one would be perfect. However, although I find many flaws with his finish, I have fallen in love with him. My original intent was to rebuild him and correct all of the faults, but I feel that it is the imperfections that make him...well...perfect. I love him just the way he is, and won't change a thing. This makes me happy and brings me joy.

Jazzed to be in this fandom
Posted 11 years agoIt has been almost a week since IFC and I still can't get the smile off my face. I am looking forward to going to our furry picnic next weekend (usually includes bowling and late night food), and then our Friday dinner out. I am so glad to have local furs that are active in the fandom and get together on a regular basis. I read, in many forums, comments by people around the world that don't know/have any other furs near them, no fur meets, and no Cons close by. I feel truly blessed to be where I am as I get started in this fandom. Though I am quite new here, I feel very much at home, welcomed, and accepted. This brings me great joy...thus the never fading smile.
first furcon
Posted 11 years agoIFC 2014 was my first Furcon EVER! I had so much fun and met a ton of new friends, as well as got to see some of my local fur-friends. I don't know about post-con-depression...I am still excited at having been there, done that, and, oh yeah, I got the T-shirt. Commissioned the guest of honor (Bloodhound) to do a badge for me (also a first). Shared some of my sketches with friends for the first time in my life and had my partial fursuit for most of the weekend...yes, another first.
I cannot put into words the joy I felt there, being able to be who I am and not judged at all. There wasn't a single unkind word all weekend. I wish it was longer, but at least I have a great group of local furs that have many get-togethers every month.
I just want to say thank you to all of the 500+ people that came, for making this such a great time!
*hugs* to all!
