It shouldn't surprise me after all this time but still it hurts.

I've had a 2 day camping trip planned for my birthday for 5months. I left my local fur group know, and the reason, even set up a group chat to keep people informed. Paid nearly 200 to reserve 2 camping sites, and kept them informed for months.

Only to realize I'm having maybe 5 people attend and 2 of them aren't even from the group.

Like... why did I go through the effort. I'm buying the food too, even a grill. But honestly this is on par for this group. Every year I invite them to join me at my birthday party, a couple hours, at a local lake for swimming, food, and cake, and no one shows up. I go through the effort to arrive at the lake early too just to grab the choice spot for the party. I stay up lake to make cakes, and encourage a potluck for the party but... those efforts are always in vain.

If I didn't have so much invested already, I'd cancel the camping trip. I mean, 2 spots for a maximum of 16people and maybe 5 or 6 will be there... what's the fucking point?
