Heads Up Guys! Stream Times Changing!
Posted 8 years agoHey all my watchers. I just wanted to let everyone know that from now until further notice, I will be starting my streams at 10 -10:30 PM instead of 8 PM (CST). As many of you know and for those who don't I live with my grandmother and care for her during the day. Just recently she's been having heart-related medical issues and I really need to be available to her during the entire evening while she goes through surgeries/recovery. I know this may disrupt some of your schedules, but I do hope you will all be patient and accepting of this change and any support you want to offer is welcome.
SO that being said, my forms are always open and I will be accepting them at any time. When I'm available, I will get working on them as soon as I start streaming. Invoices will be sent out at the time of starting and will expect to be paid before I send out the final picture. If you are not in stream I will send out the sketch for approval before continuing the commission.

What You May Do With My Art
Posted 8 years agoIn light of recent events which have been settled and will not be discussed further, I would like to let my watchers know what you can and cannot do with my artwork. This is clearly outlined in my Terms of Service Agreement, but just in case you didn't read:
You May:
1. Love it
2. Print it
3. Post it on websites that do not require a subscription fee (as long as you give me credit)
4. Share it to be posted by all owners of characters depicted in the image.
4. Color it (by your own hand)
5. Get it colored by luvbun
6. Sell it to someone else for the purpose of alt/character sales for the exact price you paid. (I must have an itemized receipt and a notification of the new owner to properly credit them)
7. Criticize it
8. Recommend me to others! <3
You May NOT:

Announcement: Pertaining to Squishes
Posted 9 years agoI would like to let everyone know luvbun and I will be opening up Squish commissions once again. However, please be aware the price will be increased to 20$ plus tax. There are a couple reasons for this decision I hope you can understand.
1. The demand is very high for these cute lil guys. So much so that people would hold off from getting normal commissions to get them. That defeats the point of them as squishes are supposed to be reserved for slow nights only.
2. Burn out. The problem is that we did so many that luvbun and I both burnt out quickly on them. We're hoping a slight price increase will discourage the mad dash.
3. Because we're sharing between the two of us, what we get out of a squish is $7.50 not including paypal fees. But they aren't efficient. If both of us spend roughly 45 min to an hour on them, we're literally getting in return below minimum wage for maximum effort.
We love you guys a lot and appreciate your patronage, but we just need a lil bit more to keep these things going on a long term basis. Squishes are a great way for people to have access to low cost cheap colored artwork that can be used as a reference and are just darn cute and we really love how much you guys like them. But we just need to slow down the frequency of them on our end because we want to keep offering them for as long as you keep wanting them instead of in random spurts.

Rant Warning: Free (Request) Art
Posted 9 years agoSo this is for a few people over the years who have ultimately sent me into a state of fire breathing rage. My art is my profession, and has been my profession that I've been working very hard to improve in the last couple years. I live month to month when it comes to paying my bills and sometimes I get so close to overdrafting my account that I have to ask friends for a little bit of forward pay for pictures they plan on getting. I try to conduct myself in a way that is .... genuine and true to my nature but when it comes to your art I am a professional about it. I don't often even post personal art anymore because I would much rather display in my gallery what I have done for you rather than what I have done for myself.
That being said, one of the things that bothers me the MOST beyond people thinking I, a professional, need a 'challenge' are people who ask me directly for or joke about asking for free art. As a small business owner who provides a product of increasingly high quality and effort to my customers, I find it downright insulting for someone to approach me asking for such quality but being completely and utterly unwilling to pay for such. It implies I'm not worth your money when I have made every effort to be otherwise.
There's a local bakery here in my area that I really like. They make fresh paleo diet breads as well as delicious scones and all sorts of fresh baked goodies, but they are (justifiably) more pricey than if you went to a normal grocery store, by a couple dollars. Now you know as well as I do they provide a product that's never going to make them a ton of money. They do it because they love it and because they want to. I go to that store to get a product I like, and I would never disrespect a small business owner who is likely just trying to get by doing something they love by walking up and asking them if I could have a ten dollar loaf of home made fresh baked whole grain 7 seed bread for free.
In the same respect, I grind my teeth every time I hear a joking 'oh, well I'd get your art if it's free' or 'do I get a discount on that for being funny?' or get a long, expansive note of someone requesting free art and wanting me to read all their crap when they don't even have me watched or have never even attended one of my three times a week streams.
It isn't funny, it is rude and a little bit hurtful. In return, just warning ahead of time, I will respond to such messages in kind, by being just as rude. I know morally I should turn the other cheek, but I only do so with people I feel deserve second chances, not people who blatantly ignore the LARGE CAPITAL LETTERS on my profile on the front page of my gallery.
Now sometimes, out of the goodness of my heart I will simply do a free request stream because I like making people smile, and I love love LOVE! doing them when I can afford it. They are so much fun and they make people so happy, especially those who actually watch me frequently and even though they can't afford to get pictures show up in streams anyway just because they like to be involved. YOU people are awesome, and I appreciate you and sometimes I want to reward you for honoring me in such a way.

The simple purpose. If I owe you art and you have not heard from me, please contact me. I have a busy life and a notoriously TERRIBLE memory when it comes to what is owed to people. Now those of you who have actually filled out my online commission form, I do still have you on some semblance of a list to which this next month is going to be dedicated to clearing.
Whom I speak to specifically are those who have fallen through the cracks at cons. During my first few cons I sold at, I was unprepared for the sheer volume and unaware of how to keep important records on what needed to be done and who didn't get what and how to contact them. That is COMPLETELY my fault, I was stupid, short sighted and overall neglectful. During one even I had my sketchbook (and supplies) that contained contact information stolen from me. That has really put a damper on my efforts to wipe clean what to me is a shameful lack of professionalism on my part.
So! IF I owe you art in any way, shape or form. Please please contact me via notes! I am willing to offer refunds or a change in commission equivalent to what you had originally purchased. I hope you accept my sincere apology for being a complete derp.

Okay, now name five things about it you absolutely love. Even if you aren't particularly fond of the image, list them off.

I don't care if you think no one will read the explanations, but you will when you're writing them, and that's what's important.
No negativity. If you find yourself writing something negative, or starting to think how you could have done something better, don't. We all know you are a wonderful artist and are striving to better your talent daily, but this post is about you and feeling good about your art.

1. I love the flow and composition of the picture. You know, the stuff you learn about in art classes like the ... one I've taken since becoming an adult. I love how the eye is immediately caught by her dark body in the left half of the space and the slope of the grass directs it from her figure to the water.
2. I really do love the grass. I enjoy the colored layers slowly tapering back to the darker grass and eventually into the mist where only faint outlines can be seen. I love when I'm unintentionally awesome.
3. Her body is just... I can't stop staring at and admiring it. I'm really proud of her well muscled figure and even her oddly colored nipples. She originally had normal pink nipples until I start messing with the hue filter and suddenly it snapped that the blue is just... softer
4. Her hair. I'm always obsessed with coloring hair and trying to make it look like Lady Amalthea's in detail and strand with from The Last Unicorn. Although it wasn't shaded much in the show, I think it keeps the essence of what I was going for. This is a woman who is by her very nature both wild and tame at the same time. You can see it in her near flawless waves.
5. Her left hand. I always struggle with getting the inside of the hand to look like it has the mounts and the folds with the little pit in there like they're supposed to. I got it very right this time. I love her claws on that hand and how her pinky extends from the others in a lady-like gesture as if she were sipping a cup of tea. Proper ladies always extend the pinky while water bending.
Now for a quick summary, how do feel about this picture, and about yourself?
I absolutely love this latest lineless painting, and it was well worth the time I spent obsessively working on it in one single night. So far, the lineless paintings I've done have never disappointed me and I can definitely seen I've improved since my last major one with Peaps.

What Goes On In Your Brain When... Meme?
Commissions:
1. Knowing you still have several full colored commissions to do even after you just finished one: Gawd damnitttttttt my hand is going to hate me
2. A commissioner wants to watch you do their commission.: Meh. Not a good or bad thing. I don't mind being watched.
3. You are working on a commission.: Doodlie doodlie doo's. My mind usually goes blank when I focus.
4. You are working on an adult commission.: This is HOT! (Am I the only one that gets a bit turned on while doing adult commissions?)
5. You are working on a fetish specific adult commission.: If it's a fetish I share, yuuuuuuuum. If not, ooh lookit all the technical details I can give this.
6. You get a well written essay from a commissioner.: Looking for the keywords. I wish people would bold them so I get CHARACTER and CHARACTER doing STUFF with THINGS.

11. You don't like how a commission is turning out, but the commissioner does.: Meh... it's money I guess. Might just happen to 'forget' to post this one to my gallery.

Changes Coming
Posted 12 years agoIn preparation for making my FA look more professional, accompanied with increased amounts of streams and better time slots, I've decided to move my doodles to a different website. Having searched extensively and found nothing that fit my needs, I'm making my own site. This site will contain alllll those funny little doodles, side stories, and general silly stuff people love to read of mine.
The reason these are being moved is because I simply cannot keep up with them on FA. The flood prevention system takes too long to make these doodles quickly and easily available as individual images and the large canvases I use get resized if I try to upload the whole thing, making my chicken scratch handwriting impossible to read.
I'm currently still in the process of building up the pages, but I will have a link in my profile soon of the new site.
In other news of things I plan on implementing:
Trolling Daemons night - every once in a while, I will stream a night where anyone will get a chance to be trolled by one of my daemon characters - FOR FREE! :). Only condition is that I get to pick the daemon and the method of trolling. Want an example? Check out how naughty Peaps is!

A Funny Vehicle Story
Posted 12 years agoSo, at the end of April, I was forced to retire my Ford Aerostar van due to needing to replace the wheel bearings and rack and pinion and a couple other smaller things. They were estimating the cost of that to be over 1000 dollars alone, and since we've put a ton of money into a car that we only paid 1600 for, we concluded it wasn't worth it to put more into it. I was incredibly upset because this van was my baby. It was just the perfect car. It NEVER broke down once until I was safely home even if it had trouble getting there, which is more than I can say for either the '85 Cadillac Barritz or the '04 Kia Spectra that we also have. I cried having to park the van in the driveway and it has been sitting untouched for the last four months
Well, this morning I was using the Kia for work transportation when my granma calls and tells me the Cadillac's battery is dead. We usually drive the Kia everywhere since the Cadillac is a nice car and we don't want to push it too hard, but after two weeks the battery doesn't have enough charge to start it up. I pick her up, drop her off down the street and continue working. When I get to the office to finish some paperwork up, I come back out to leave and the KIA's battery is also dead!! We get a ride home, and I make the offhand suggestion that we try charging up the Cadillac on the van.
My granma claims she tried to start the van last week and it wouldn't, and swears up and down that there is no way my crappy van will start. Rather determined to prove her wrong, I find my old van key, take a seat, crank it and the old bitch starts up and purrs like a dusty kitten immediately. I look to my granma deadpan and tell her, "I told you. My girl is a tank. She REFUSES to die!" And laugh maniacally.
While I still don't think we can put in the money to get old Bernie going again, I'm so happy that my old van and beloved first vehicle can still prove the amazing engineering that went into her is incredibly reliable even when the car is literally breaking apart from age.
