Hello World (Commissions/Life)
Posted 7 years agoIt's been 4 years since my last Journal so... heres a quick snippet.
-I'm finishing my bachelors in IT Network Security
-I'm casually looking for a 4th roommate
-I'm single and looking (come one come all)
-I've relaxed my creative control over my Loki sona and have opened it up to NSFW commissions. If you'd like to use him/me feel free to contact me! (Shouts would be better than notes as I almost never read them)
I have 2 new characters in the works because I have never seen these species in the fandom and their first appearance will be in a large YCH commission coming...soon?

FIRE WATER BURN (My Apartment)
Posted 11 years agoSome of you know but most of you don't. The week of the fourth the apartment above mine caught fire, in the ensuing aftermath I lost a good chunk of my stuff to smoke and water damage (the fire didnt travel downward thankfully)
Because of that I had to cut my vacation in KC short so I didnt get to see most of who I wanted to but I did want to thank Delph and Solus(SIC?) for letting me crash at their place before my flight to DC the week prior.
So yeah, done once again with a 6 month training stint, new job on the way, new apartment, new stuff, new new new. Except for my friends, I like the old ones =-) much <3 KCFUR

Posted 11 years agoHAY NAAAAA HAY NAAAAA LOKI's BACK!
My last few visits have been .... duds, I did manage to get around and see a few people back in December (Kibbles, Wind, Pups, a few others) but I REALLY REALLY want to see more than just a few if I could. I'm up for a day at the zoo, NASCART, Dave and Busters, anything honestly. I miss the KC crew.
June 28 - July 10th (I may or may not be in DC July 1-5 or 6th hanging out with Cien ^-^)

Something new
Posted 12 years agoWell I'm in Tacoma which means "Seattle" just like most people around KC all the way out to Olathe identify as being in "KC". It's just easier geographically to mention to people but I digress.
Kinda having a rough go out here finding a job partially due to my own procrastination and an attempt to find jobs more relevant to my position in the Air Force. As with anything though, I'm finding little things here and there to keep me afloat while I await my next chapter.
Speaking of which I've been rapidly advancing through my positions at the unit and have apparently impressed my supervisors enough that they keep throwing potential assignments at me in an attempt to see what will stick. The latest of these has been an advancement and learning opportunity known as JCAC (Joint Cyber Analyst Course) based out of Pensacola Florida. I got the nomination and should be headed there some time in January I hope. It will consist of 6 months of rigorous studying in all things computers and network related. I don't know much about the course itself aside from the fact that it has a high (30+ % washout rate). If you're curious you can look up some anecdotes on a Google search but don't expect to find much in the way of specifics. Infer what you will from that.
Until then I am waiting things out and hoping I can find something short term to tide me (and my bank account) over.
On a lighter side I am starting to make some friends and acquaintances around the area with local Sea-Tac furs and have been striving to make it to more meets whenever possible. It seems that others are gravitating to me here just as quickly as all my much missed friends from Kansas City did.
As an aside from my life blog I would like to point out that for anyone who would like to vacation to Seattle (it is quite pretty and fun once you dig into it a bit) I have some space available for maybe $10-$20 a night. This rate is also available for the upcoming Rainfurrest convention should you wish to attend (although doubting).

A suprise back in KC
Posted 13 years agoThere are a few I keep in touch with on a regular basis from KC and one in particular I wanted to do something special for. I'm looking for a decent artist to commission a portrait of the two of us. Any suggestions that wont sink my wallet are appreciated =-)
PS the surprise is who the commission is for if it hasn't been given away

AFK...........Away from Kansas
Posted 13 years agoI leave tomorrow morning bright and early. My flight departs at 605 am. I fly to Spokane with a stopover in Salt Lake and then back down to Lackland Texas for the next 3 -9 months depending on when I get my Advanced Training ticket.
I just wanted to say, everyone that I've met here in Kansas City, you guys are amazing
kcfur is growing and will continue to be a fantastic place for people to come and hang out and make friends for a long time to come. I only see good things on the horizon for you.
For everyone that told me Ill be missed you guys seriously had me misty-eyed the other night during St Paddy. Thank you thank you thank you for making these past months some of the best I could've ever asked for.
caninealters you will be missed most of all Scarecrow... You and Wind were the first ones I met and I'm glad I did.
paprika You are a force of nature and work harder than I've ever seen anyone to keep a group motivated.
To everyone else again Thank you.

Posted 13 years agoI'm shocked, stunned, excited, and a little bit sad. I got news today that March 26 I will start basic training and I will be shipping out March 21.
I regret not having been active in the community until recently, everyone I have met here has been fantastic and all the parties and all the planning that is going on right now is some exciting stuff. It should definitely put KC on the map in the near future with
kcfur leading the charge. Just remember to keep the drama small and the parties big.
I love you guys, I love this community, I'm stoked for the future but will miss all my new found friends. I cant express that enough, you all have put me in a great state of mind, kept me occupied and happy during these rough months of waiting. I'll be back eventually and maybe some of you can make a trip south to see me at graduation May 18th but I wont hold my breath =-)
Much love Kansas City
Sincerely,
Lokessan Drache

Posted 13 years agoAs most of you know I do in fact have a mate
kinegato and we have been apart physically for a year this March. Both of us have tight schedules and even tighter budgets that just don't allow the connection we want until I can move after Airforce Basic training.
We have known each other since the fall of 08 and will have been mated 3 years this July. It's been a bit wild and I test his patience on a constant basis because hey... I'm me! But we're dedicated to each other and as much as I'm going to dread leaving the wonderful folks of
Kcfur It's something that I need to do to get my life where I need it to be.
So with all that in mind, with my newfound friends, the partys, etc he has been feeling a bit lonely and possessive. Breaks my heart to hear him every time we Skype or call. His good friend (and by proxy mine as well it seems)
Safyras decided to help cheer him up. With a tight budget he couldn't afford another commission like the one for our anniversary but she was determined and wound up doing it pro-bono. It turned out fantastic and I cannot thank her enough for what she has done for us and means to him as a friend.
With the bottom of my heart thank you.

On the subject of new years....
Posted 13 years agoMany people ask me my name. I'm still new to the whole "scene" publicly and I never know if people want my fursona, myself, or my FA.
Here's the skinny to make it REAL simple.
Fursona: Loki is fine shorthand for a semi complicated name (The mate however will always call me San [Sahn])
Me:Steven/Steven (Easy right?)
FA: BobTDragon was created sort of as a joke before I had a real fursona. I used to do some Medieval/Fantasy roleplay and I could never think of a good name for the Dragon side character I created so I just named him Bob The Dragon [He was mostly just chat or forum junkie instead of a truly played character anyway]
But as I've settled into the larger community I adopted him as my sona (Helmet armor and all) and just never bothered to get an account to reflect the new name and now that I have followers I hate to burden (those few) with rewatching a new account.

New years WOW
Posted 13 years agoI must say this is a complete 180 of anything I've ever experienced socially. I was happy, talkative, friendly, and most of all, awake and enjoying myself immensely. To everyone I cuddled much <3 it was my favorite part next to making an ass of myself on the dance floor.
I definitely felt very much at home and free to be myself. I'm really going to miss KC and this community once I leave.

Posted 14 years agothe amount of people who will read this are probably few and far between but I need an outlet to type right now.
I'm a goofy son-of-a-gun and I love it. I even updated my info to say as much but here's the deal. March 13th is the tentative date of my shipment to Airforce Basic Training. I've longed to see that day for an entire year and in the process of doing so I decided to become more active in the local furry community and now I regret not having done so sooner.
Being a bit of a loner and sometimes and gaming hermit (happens to the best of us) I tend to shy away from the traditional "going out" to clubs and bars most because my friends never seem to be up for it and just like the movies I hate going alone.
My recent foray into the community has been a complete eye opener and again I wish I had done it sooner. I've made some good friends very quickly that I've never been able to do before and.... well the word regret fits in again there for a third time at some point.
To all my newly discovered friends and to those I make from here-on after... I appreciate the experiences you have given me and can only hope that when I move I find as many genuinely sweet people as I have here.

Posted 14 years agoStaring at myself in the mirror every day is what motivates me to keep working out.
Narcissism: 1 Fat: 0
in 9 months I've gone from 235 to 195. not the fastest weight loss ever but now that I'm laid off I'm working out every day to prepare for the Air Force.

Oh lord...
Posted 17 years agoSince no one reads this I can pretty much say what I want but I won't say anything awful or emo-esque.
The whol Oh LORD! Bit is the fact that Im working on a far larger version of Sanft Drache (the Avatar picture/Featured submission) and he's starting to slowly come together. Considering I haven't done this in a year it isnt turning out too bad so far. I've got most of the "Helmet" and head lined out. Next in line is finishing his body... that's going to take some study of other peoples work to see what I like and how I should go about forming his back, haunches, and the bottom half of his limbs. In the meantime however I will probly start shading in his features. It is a bad habit I have of starting to shade before finishing the whole start of the sketch. I actually think it helps when I have a shaded reference point to see how i like the position of another piece of the anatomy or whatever I might be drawing... Anyone else like that?
