Surgery update!

Top surgery is SCHEDULED. They are working on getting the prior authorization approved through my insurance, so I can know exactly how much I'll owe out of pocket.
I also have to attend therapy to get a recommendation letter for surgery (per WPATH guidelines)
I figured out that my leave from work MIGHT be paid!! Which is relieving. They made me file for disability and through that they will coordinate my FMLA, but I won't know for sure that I'll be paid until after my leave starts, so i'm still putting back as much money as I can.
We already booked our stay with New Beginnings TLC for the time I'm in town for surgery. I'm super excited, since we stayed there for Rayne's surgery and it was WONDERFUL!
Also, we got court dates for our name changes! So we have a 15 minute time slot on 03/28 to convince the judge as to WHY we need the name changes. Hopefully we should know whether its approved or denied right then and there.

I talked to my insurance about coverage for my surgery and I'm covered for 80% outside of my $2000 deductible!
That being said all commissions from here on out are going to go towards the cost of that ~$3,200 out-of-pocket cost. They will also ALL come with a free chibi!

Posted 7 years agoSo I'm switching insurances on Jan 1, and my new insurance covers treatment for gender dysphoria and all surgeries are included. I also asked my grandma if she would loan me the money for the surgery if i need, and she said its a possibility!!

My birthday is also on Sept 7! I'll be 23 this year so I can't wait to celebrate while we are in Las Vegas.

Posted 8 years agoPlease be patient with me, it seems like depression is coming back full swing and I need to take extra time daily to make sure I'm also taking care of myself, as well as still applying for "real jobs" and getting commissions done.
I'm trying my damnedest to keep everything manageable. I do have an appointment with my PCP on July 5, right after we return from Anthrocon, so hopefully I can get some medication to help me chill out some.
