EDIT: Help a Fox Pay for his Cancer Treatments?
Posted 9 months agoHad my MRI today. Should know the results by Monday next week.
So, so far that's the initial doctor's visit, urology visit, biopsy, second urology visit, oncologist visit, third urology visit with a jab in my backside, CT scan, and today the MRI.
Costs are mounting. Just the first urologist's visit and biopsy is out of financial reach at around $850, and God knows what's to come!
To that end, a good friend suggested I open a GoFundMe to help pay for the bills. I would appreciate any and all contributions anyone may wish to give, or to be able to afford.
And anyone willing to pass this along, please do feel free.
My thanks to you all in advance!

Help this Ukrainian Artist out! It's Christmas!

We all know how bad things are there and he really needs the help, as you'll see. C'mon, we can all spare $5, right? Five lousy bucks to help him keep the heat on and something for his family's dinner table.
I already pray for your country to kick the bastards back to the Stone Age, I'll be praying for you and your family too now.

Help Send a Fox to Anthrocon!
Posted a year agoCanadian Wine Request
Posted a year agoSo HEY! Anyone coming to Anthrocon from Canada? I have a request.
I'm looking for a bottle or two of Bright's Cream Sherry. Any chance anyone can supply me?
It's my wife's favo(u)rite wine and we haven't been to Canada since the need for a passport. If someone can help I would love it!
Thank you if possible! Please contact me if you can help.
Oh, and the back taxed for 2022 got paid up! We're not homeless and can concentrate on back taxes for 2023, help appreciated!

Posted a year agoTHANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HELPED OUT we have paid off a gigantic portion of our back property taxes! Sadly we still have a long way to go, but if I can scrounge another $1500-something we can get 2022 paid off and concentrate on last year's taxes!
THANK YOU ALL!!
Lines are still open for anyone who would like to help!
Commissions are open, requests are on hold. I'm in the middle of a private commission as we speak and you can get a pencil sketch for $20, no background, one character, pricing for additional character/background/etc. upon request.
Buying me a Ko-fi, or multiple Ko-fi's would help too. https://ko-fi.com/bondofox
Paypal donations by "Friends and Family" would be wonderful! bondofox[at]gmail.com
I can't say THANK YOU enough, you're the best fans a content creator can have!!

We're in Serious Trouble
Posted a year agoOn June 30 we're due to have our house go up for a tax sale due to unpaid taxes. Frankly, we left the last two just slip, didn't mean for it to happen, it just kind of did.
So far I've managed to get $450 together but I need another $600 FAST! That will keep us out of the tax sale for this year, then I need to raise an additional $1,000 to cover 2023's taxes.

Buy me a Ko-fi for Christmas?
Posted 2 years agoFound!
Posted 2 years agoRemember that classic bondage magazine I thought had been lifted from my art bag when I left it at the parking garage after Anthrocon? Well, I found it!
It was stuck inside my hardback sketchbook. No idea how.

Home from AC, THANK YOU ALL!
Posted 2 years agoMy MOST heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make sure I could enjoy Anthrocon, and not be hungry! A good time was had, right up until the point when the wife drove me home and I found out that I'd left my Anthrocon shoulder bag with my art and sketchbooks inside at the pay station at the parking garage.
THANKFULLY I'd also left my work cell phone in there. Using Find Device I verified it was there and many thanks to my roommates who walked over, I'm hoping any rain had stopped, and while they couldn't claim it DID verify it was there safe and sound. So, all of the money I'd saved by not paying parking paid for transportation to and from by my wife including taking her to luncheon.
Home now, chilling, finding out one of my classic bondage magazines is missing from my recovered bag. I don't remember taking it out but it better damned well be here.
Anthrocon is once again officially the world's largest furry convention! We broke the record . . . by 3 people!

Posted 2 years agoBelieve me, funds are tight this year! I'm on the art show staff therefore committed, but I could sure use some help with expenses if you wouldn't mind. Eating could pose a problem too.

Or Paypal, bondofox[at]gmail.com
And by all means, thank you!
I also may have a problem unloading a hotel room right near the con, I think it's the one connected to the convention center. I reserved a room for Friday and Saturday nights and then managed to get into a room share with other staff members. If I cancel, then I'm out the cost of a night's stay and I can NOT afford that right now! Anyone going to Anthrocon need a room? Please speak up!
And thank you very much!!

Crystal. Not sure how I feel right now.
Posted 3 years agoFor fans of the FBA, retired Mayors player Healey Davis, and his daughter Crystal Davis who's character belongs to me:
Much went on behind my sleeping back.
buckhopper released the FBA to the care of another and released Healey Davis into the wild as public domain. To my knowledge only I've had him drawn in a father-daughter basketball pic (though Tigerknight did draw him being pulled into a NapBox® in a 9 to 9 comic before changing him to Crystal when I told him he wasn't my character). As I'm told Buck is reclaiming Healey Davis, which is perfectly legal and his prerogative and no problems there.
Tobu created Crystal Davis, then later on moved on to other interests, and was kind enough to allow me to take ownership of her. Good bloke, Tobu, I must check in with him again, it's been ages.
Well, on the FBA front, there's fear that Buck might wish to take legal action for use of his reclaimed character Healey Davis. Don't ask me why, I don't know why he might either. So the option the FBA decided to pursue is to change Healey's surname. One problem: to do that they would also have to change Crystal's surname as well. And they don't own Crystal Davis, and I did not consent. I was willing to consider it but that was all.
The FBA made the name change. Without so much as a "BondoFox, would you help us out and allow us to change Crystal's last name please, for these reasons?"
Who's name is on the right hand side of the © again?
So it looks as if Crystal's last name is now "Summers". Show of hands, how many people think I'm happy about this.

Covid Sucks, So Does its Timing
Posted 3 years agoSunday before last I was watching videos on TV minding my own business with the living room window cracked for fresh air. Moving toward dinnertime I began feeling seriously lousy, and it didn't help that my throat was getting sore due to smoke from the kitchen where #2 son was removing a pork butt he'd been slow-cooking and had slopped some of the juice on the oven floor.
When dinner came around I ate and felt fine, then began feeling lousy and had an early night. The next three days was lousy, especially when I had to get up early, and I mean early, Tuesday and Wednesday morning, I was still sick and kept wanting to fall asleep behind the wheel, did a small number of times too and thank GOD caught myself in time before hitting a tree once and an oncoming car two times at least.
My wife's birthday was last Thursday and I'd scheduled the day off, thank God I had too, #2 son Jeremy had to return home from his way to work to take his fiancee to hospital. She had Covid. Four home tests later and we found we all had it. Or rather, have it. On the wife's birthday, what could suck worse?
It's now Monday a week later and I still feel like crap. I think writing this is the most I've done since getting sick, not counting making potato soup for dinner last night, involved but good. I can't imagine it's going to hang on much longer now, but I was tested 2 days ago at the FasterCare facility and I'm still positive, so I don't know anymore.

Posted 3 years agoWe are in Danger of Losing an Artist
Posted 3 years agoAnd if that happens I am going to be seriously pissed off, especially with the fandom at large who I have been a proud member of for 27 years and counting.
Now I've seen petty squabbles, but this has got from the sublime to the ridiculous to the WTF?
For most of those 27 years I have been friends with :tydrian:, you've all seen his art I'm sure, formally on my website and both here and on dA in his own accounts and reposted by commissioners of his on there accounts as well.
I was incredibly disturbed to see this when I got up this morning. Read it, read it ALL and don't give me that "tl;dr" shit:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/46412599/
I know one of the offenders in question, possibly the biggest offender. I have been asked to say no more, and those who know me know I call people out and I don't care if they like it or not.
As I said, Ty and I have been friends, good friends, for a long time. I knew him when he was serving in the U.S. military as an NCO and watched his art progress to what it is now. He's an incredible artist in my opinion. He's also kind, fun to be around, and I'm proud to call him my friend.
The origins of this attack on his character, reprehensible by anyone's standards, go back a number of years and in the beginning I know Ty was confused by it, what was being said about him, publicly mind you (I can never remember, is that considered slander or libel?), was grossly untrue and I thought that person was simply trying to make a name for herself (FCMP I do believe), and don't as me how but got others to drink the Kool-Aid® and had them believing that shit. He's lost fans, friend, business, and he's ready to pack it in.
If this happens I will be BEYOND angry.
Hit that link above, support this guy. You don't have to spend a dime, just show your public support. Even a Note saying "I love your work!" is good. Just support him.
And if you're the one who started this, fuck you and fuck your mother for giving birth to you.

Maybe I Should have Written That Better ...
Posted 3 years agoI'm really, really sorry for upsetting some of yunz guys. I took the emoticons out from where I swiped that journal and maybe I should have left them in. At least a couple of you got it and that's great! Yunz others were quite concerned and I love you for it, but I see I have to apologize. It was a joke.
The joke was in what was for sale, my hobby stuff was all cleaning supplies, y'see. I got a kick out of the journal on a friend's Facebook page and I had to share it! But I guess I should have left the emojis in, eh?
I'm sorry about that. THANK YOU a for the concern, and thanks too to those who understood and got it. π

Christmas is Coming!
Posted 4 years agoGood news, good news! It is officially official!
Posted 4 years agoBONDOFOX.COM is now online!!
I can't remember when I decided to get a domain name, I announced it on the BondoFox blog on Planetfurry After Dark and everyone was excited! Two days later I went to register, some motherfucker with a major death wish had registered it.
I still want to put a bullet in his head. I digress.
Oh, this fuck had the nerve, after I registered the .net to ask me if I wanted to sell the .net to him! As well as telling him to shove his request, I asked him why he wanted to trade on my name. Asswipe never did reply.
So do be safe, I dived on the .org too. And I've own those ever since.
The weird thing, after a couple or a few years or so, the .org stopped pointing to the server. Never understood why, neither did Whiplash, owner of PlanetFurry.Com
A week or so ago I got two different emails from two different spam monkeys asking if I wanted to by the .com. I deleted one and ripped into the other, asking if he was the jerkoff who sniped it and why he wanted to trade on my name. No reply. Of course.
The other day I received an email from iCANN to make sure my info was all correct. I saw the phone number was an old one so I logged in to MyDomain.Com. It gave me some variations on domains and lookit: .COM was one of them!
Yes, I jumped!
THANKS aplenty to Whiplash, owner of Planetfurry.Com, my webhost for BondoFox: Advanced and for Foxx Den, for taking his time to get everything registered and directed for the .com and the .org!!!
Only one weird thing, the graphic atop the disclaimer on the .com isn't showing. But it does on the other two. Weird.
So everyone who always tried to type in bondofox.com, knock yourselves out! It's there now!
To quote Sabrina, *"Woohoo!"*
Updates are about to commence!!

Posted 4 years agoI've been drawing in my oversized sketchbook lately, since I ran out of pages in my 8.5 x 11-inch book and couldn't get a new one. As a result a lot of my sketches won't fit on the glass of my scanner bed!
No Anthrocon, So I'm Here Thinking about Bad Art
Posted 4 years agoAs I write this I'd have finished my breakfast with the other art show staffers and be at the convention center helping artists hang their works. Sadly, at the second AnthNocon (as I call it), I'm at home and it won't start for several hours yet.
So I'm here thinking.
Are you a bad artist? Do you turn out bad art?
Uhhhmmmm .... nah-uh. Truth is, nobody does. Something I learned during my tenure as a musician in high school. See, I would hear something that passes as music -- say, country/western -- and I'd say "Gawd, that is some really bad music!" On two or three different occasions I was told and reminded that there is no such thing as "bad music", only music that you don't care for.
Thinking about it after I began drawing slop-art around late 1999, living on VCL and Furnation, later of course Furry Art Pile and Yarf, now deviantArt and FurAffinity, that came home to roost. I turned out a lot of crap and people were actually liking it. Nowadays I turn out better crap and an occasional gem. And I look at what I turn out and compare it to, say, Max Blackrabbit, gNAW, Eric Schwartz, Iron Badger, Steve Martin, and realize what actual rubbish I turn out. I'll never be in their league, never.
Going through the sites I also saw artists turning out stuff even worse than mine. Not by much usually but not great. Then I remembered what I'd learned about bad music, it doesn't exist. Music is art. Art is art.Time is money And it came to me, there is no such thing as bad art!
I thought about some of the stuff I turned out In The Beginning and well, some people actually put Likes and Loves on it! My gawd, I'd think, they're easily pleased -- then I thought s'more about it, and I realized no, they like it.
There is no such thing as bad art. If you like it, it can't be bad. If you create it and think it's bad, you're wrong. Maybe there's room for improvement, I mean even the pros like the ones I mentioned above constantly practice and draw and probably turn out their share of crap themselves, not as much as I do but I'll bet you they do! But a lot of people who might see it would like it.
So guess what: Bad art doesn't exist. Keep drawing. If you feel you need to improve, keep drawing. And don't stop, it gets festering ideas of what you'd like to see out of your head, that's important to you. Especially if you want to see it drawn but can't afford to commission somebody, or you'd like to see a character a certain way and you know the artist who owns it won't draw it that way. Draw, keep drawing. You'll like it and I promise, so will others. And if they criticize it negatively, mentally tell them to go to Hell and draw it again, or keep drawing. Trust me, you'll surprise and amaze yourself in the end.
So I'm here thinking.

On two or three different occasions I was told and reminded that there is no such thing as "bad music", only music that you don't care for.
Art is art.
