Med News and Losing Watchers over Porn
Posted 11 years agoThat second part sure doesn't seem right does it? But it's true! I'm actually managing to LOSE more watchers than gain them the more explicit the material I post is (No outline=no new followers, blue outline=maybe a new watcher or two, and red outline=loss of followers). This used to not be the case but uh....I don't know! It seems to be the way things work now...for some reason. When I came out as bi I lost over a hundred followers; that thing furries spout about being open minded is a croc of shit it turns out. Maybe people have actually migrated over to Weasyl? Did that actually happen? I've barely been well enough to be at my computer so I have no idea what's going on on the internet at all.
Speaking of not being well: doctors are refusing to see me! Claiming that, since I've already been through the CDC regulated treatment I should be cured. Obviously that didn't happen but the humongous conspiracy behind Lyme Disease (google it! It's depressing!) makes finding doctors willing to treat people with the late stage version of the disease exceedingly tricky, mainly because they can lose their medical license over it. Not all is lost, however, as I eventually found a doctor who WOULD see me; in December. Not wanting to wait over a half year to actually start maybe finally recovering I asked if he could expand his search beyond just Missouri (keep in mind: this was the ONLY doctor in the state who would see me). So we found someone who's going to be seeing me very soon on a monthly/bi-monthly basis in Iowa. It'll be a six hour drive both ways to see her but hey! Maybe she won't tell me that aspirin and walks will cure me like the last "specialist" did. So I'll file that away as a big "we'll see".
Also a "We'll See": Anthrocon! I'd love to go but A) I'm still sick, B) some really lovely artists are trying to smear me behind the scenes and give me a bad name to furry publishers because I guess picking on sick people is how the "open minded" artist types get their kicks, C) I have ZERO furry friends left (turns out, when you're sick, people get tired of hearing about it and move on) and I don't have a D) I'm just pretty fucking miserable and isolated right now. Hopefully I'll dredge myself out and just keep on working on stuff, maybe make that eventual comeback I keep thinking about. I know there's cool people who want me to get better, your continuous support has gotten me this far, seriously some people have sent me the nicest comments and messages over the past few months, I'm just getting pretty strung out at this point (hopefully my tone above conveyed some strung-out-ed-ness).
Overall: if you've been cool to me, keep being cool, I need ya.

I'm Moving! Also Anthrocon Possibilities!
Posted 11 years agoLater this week I'll be leaving Alabama and moving back to St. Louis. Health-wise things aren't getting better for me here (I've been sick for over a year now, with no signs of improvement) and my medical team has fallen apart. Lyme isn't a disease native or even particularly present in the American south and I've exhausted the abilities of the doctor's in this region. I'm lined up to see, yet another, set of specialists in the midwest as yet another step on this oddly long journey towards managing an ever changing and broadening range of symptoms. I'm currently on a medication regiment that has given me some of my old lifestyle back and wanted to use that ability to get what work done I can and to keep people updated. I'm certainly not better but a new set of doctors and reuniting with a bunch of my hometown friends might be part of the road to recovery. I'm hoping.
In that spirit I'd like to mention my Anthrocon plans: I'd very much like to go. I missed FWA due to being fresh out of my second hospital stay of the year and *that* medication regimen made me akin to a zombie, hardly con-worthy. I also didn't need to be taking on more work as I've been quite behind (ten days between submissions, yikes!). So I've set myself two conditions for attending Anthrocon: 1) that my health allows it and 2) that I'm caught up on my work. If I'm not able to keep up with my work then I won't be in any condition to take on more, I would be doing myself and commissioners a disservice. It would be unhealthy and dishonest.
So there you have it: I'm going to try my hardest to go but it may not exactly be up to me. If things go well enough I'd like to update FS more than once a month too. (Though while I was down I drew the first seven pages of issue 4! Whoo!)

Bad News from the Zone
Posted 11 years agoAbout two weeks ago I started experiencing fainting spells in relationship, presumably, to Lyme disease and fibromyalgia (Lyme disease attacks the immune system and has left me with fibromyalgia as a co-infection). About five days ago I came in from walking my two dogs (I have taken up a two part workout regimen that involves going to the gym once a day and walking my dogs daily as part of my recovery plan) and got halfway into my house before I literally hit the deck. When I came to I decided I should probably go to the hospital which interred me for three days (thus why FS didn't update this week) and told me that I may have an advanced version of Lyme disease known as Neuro-Lyme, which they told me means that the spirochetes that comprise the disease have made their way into my brain. The symptoms I'm currently dealing with include constant joint pain throughout the body, distorted vision, high levels of fatigue and, new to the crop: severe depression. I'm currently working with my doctors to come up with a new treatment regimen that can address all of this and hopefully keep me on the recovery path.
The really bad news from all of this was I told my doctors about my plans for FWA and they expressly forbid it; saying I'm currently too unstable to be doing anything like that. I'm not sure I necessarily agree but I can tell that, considering the fainting spells, a con could potentially prove disastrous. I'm really really sad about this, it's been an absolutely horrific year thus far (this being my second hospitalization already) and missing a con is only making it worse. I love cons, they're my favorite weekends of the year; I live for them. It's going to really suck not going, I was looking forward to seeing a lot of people and running my table and doing all the fun stuff at cons I always do. Instead I'm confined to my house "just in case" something might happen.
Still, I'm going to try to make the best of it. Missing FWA means I have more time to finish up old commissions without needing to take on new ones. Since I'm still on track for AC this year that means I can possibly have my biggest show to date in July and that makes me happy. I also can hopefully get all of these old commissions done and focus exclusively on False Start stuff, since I really want to make that into the majority of what I do.
In summary: My various ailments continue to find new ways to harangue my mind and body, thus under doctor's orders I'm abstaining from FWA. I will however continue to update False Start and keep commissions pumping out as best I can. The next con I'll be doing is AC, and I'm hoping to make it the best ever. It's been rough thus far but I want to keep it together and keep on trekkin'.

50% Operational Capacity Achieved
Posted 12 years ago(Re-posted from this image: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12706720/ )
I'm at 50% of optimum output currently, and that's actually an improvement! Here's what's going, further broken down:
-My new PC is, essentially dead weight. Here's the e-mail I sent to Newegg's "We Care" line, still no response:
"I bought a computer from Newegg, manufactured by CyberPower PC, and within two days of using it it began to behave erratically: randomly and frequently shutting off and restarting, by the fourth day it couldn't run for longer than fifteen minutes at a time. I contacted the manufacturer and they offered to ship and repair it for free. This took three weeks total, I work from home as a freelance illustrator and this is my sole means of income due to a bevy of medical problems brought on by Lyme disease. During this time I was unable to complete any of my client's orders as they are all for digital illustrations, I have lost time that was worth more than this computer's price essentially. I did get the unit back though. When I did, however, it was running even worse than before. Trying to use it for just one hour it could barely run a basic internet browser, experienced multiple shutdowns, lock-ups, and even complete power failure. I contacted the manufacturer wanting a refund, it was very difficult to get through as their queue system is designed to drop calls after three minutes, but Cyberpower did get back to me. They claimed that they could only offer to repair the PC again, which they have proven incapable of twice now, and only the retailer (Newegg) could offer a refund. Thus I got in contact with Newegg wherein I was told that by sending in the computer for repairs I had voided the warranty. Thus I am stuck with a computer that the manufacturer is incapable of fixing (I have posted about this to my art blog wherein multiple clients and readers have told me that Cyberpower has in some cases taken up to eight months to fix a computer) and I cannot get my money back on. It cannot and will not work and I require a working PC to do my work. Thus far the handling of this situation has been completely inadequate and I cannot say that I would be likely to buy from either of these sources again as they have cost me a lot of money and time that has, thus far, proven completely fruitless."
Shitty right? Yeah, totally. Anyhow I worked out a deal so that I can work from home and brought home my old rig to work on. It's slower and not as good the one I bought (well I guess it's better actually, in that it works) but I can actually finish digital commissions again! YEAH!
Part 2: I'm still a sick motherfucker. Lyme's killer and, even though we're decently sure we eradicated it from my body it left behind a smattering of what are known as "co-infections"; the big one being fibromyalgia/CFS and I could be dealing with that for awhile. Still knowledge is power and I'm getting smarter about fighting all this crap everyday.
In short: things are still gonna be slow but when I get my computer issues worked out I'll be faster than ever, and once all these sicknesses are battened down I'll be even more productive than that!

Good News: I got my computer back! Bad news...
Posted 12 years ago... it's more broken then ever! Don't ever buy from CyberPower PC! They're terrible!
I'm returning it tomorrow and buying elsewhere. This has been ridiculous.

I Abhor Censorship
Posted 12 years agoSadly the administration here doesn't seem to so, while I'll continue to post here since I need the exposure, I'll also be maintaining a Weasyl page ( https://www.weasyl.com/~bone ). Regrettably I'm going to need to take a day or so to update it and, with my computer being shipped off tomorrow, I don't have the time to do an adequate job immediately. In the meantime I also regularly post art to my twitter: https://twitter.com/Boneitis and an art tumblr: http://boneitisuno.tumblr.com/ I'll be posting more incendiary comments and journals on my Weasyl since I'm not exactly fond of a lot of the mainstays of this community and I like to speak my mind. Obviously I love my followers and readers but I also love freedom of speech and hate feeling controlled by people who are, essentially, evil comic book characters. I also don't want to make anyone sign up for services they don't care for since I know how having another website to check is a large time sink; especially towards people like myself who value producing content more than consuming it, thus I'll maintain a presence here.
If you're not sure what I'm talking about feel free to note me, as people are being blocked, banned, and suspended for talking about it openly. Truly appalling coming from a community that values "open mindedness". More than anything I'd like to see a large shift in either the tone of the staff here or the staff itself. Things can always be better, we just have to be willing to look inward and find the answers.

Lots of Updates on Every Fascinating Facet of My Life
Posted 12 years agoSo a LOT has been going on (it *was* the holidays) and, being as I have a lot of awesome readers and commissioners, I'm going to fill you all in on all the good and bad that's been going down since this new year started:
Lyme disease update: If you read my journals/comments you know I have chronic Lyme Disease and that I've been trying to buck it for the better part of a year now (though we believe I've had it, un-diagnosed, for about six years now). A co-worker managed to get me in to see an infectious disease specialist in the area. It was nigh impossible to get in otherwise, so specialized was he. We went in thinking that we'd likely get some new info or maybe a lead on a long term cure (I've been to a lot of doctors and have tried more medications than I can remember) but sadly all the man had to say-and keep in mind he agreed to see us and knew I had Lyme- was that Lyme wasn't present in this area (debatable) and that he didn't know enough to speak in confidence on the subject; opting to instead just refill a pain medication of mine and telling me to go back my Primary Care Physician. While I appreciated the honesty, I'd have rather he not made me pay to see him if he knew he didn't know anything about Lyme, it was a waste of time and money. In the meantime I'll be seeing ANOTHER specialist next week and then another in April. Essentially I have to keep going through specialists until I can find someone who can help me, as the symptoms worsen and drastically affect my work output. Lyme disease is a complex and controversial disease, if you have Amazon Prime there's an excellent, but sobering, documentary on the disease and surrounding conspiracy for free here: http://www.amazon.com/Under-Our-Ski.....under+our+skin
Not all is lost however because, due to having a successful showing at MFF this year I was able to invest a moderate amount of money into upgrading my studio to be more accommodating. Lyme has given me severe arthritis throughout my body and stamina/fatigue issues similar to someone with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, this made long term sitting in front of a computer incredibly painful for the past year. To alleviate the stress I bought a standing desk and padded bar stool so that I can switch between sitting and standing and, thus, not overly stress any of my joints during longer inking/painting sessions. The new setup has helped me work much faster and, more importantly, almost entirely pain-free. Due to people liking my art I'm now able to continue to make it essentially, so any of you who have supported me at a con or really in any way: thank you so much, every single one of you has made my life a little easier.
In addition to a new desk I also bought a new computer and software as all of my old software/hardware was five years old or older. This new setup allowed me to do two things: 1) work on new commissions and pages more quickly plus at a higher resolution; 2) I was able to transplant my old computer and redundant accessories into a new office at work which allowed me to get a promotion to full on graphic designer and exhibit fabricator (some of you have seen some of my handywork here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12418007/ ) This is great because being on the floor less means I make more money and can work at a pace and at hours conducive to when I'm feeling OK (I have good and bad days) and this helped alleviate some of the stress of my ever-present student loan payments. Once again: you guys saved my ass and have my gratitude.
The only current downside to the new studio is that the custom rig I built sadly seems to have a faulty power supply or motherboard, which causes way too many crashes and has caused me to lose a lot of progress on commission I've been trying to ink/paint. Luckily it's all covered for free under my warranty, but it'll take a week for the company to fix it so I'll be computer-less for a while and updates will be nonexistent. I will simply use the time to finish penciling a few remaining layouts for MFF sketches and maybe some more FS pages (I've almost finished penciling the entirety of this current issue). Despite all these delay I still believe I'll be able to resume regular updates at the end of January and I'm pumped for it, these new pages are some of my favorite yet!
On the subject of comics: I got to spend a good amount of time over the holidays with my good friend and fellow comic artist
mynameismad (who is currently the writer and illustrator on Boom! Studios 'Regular Show' spinoff title 'Skips', do check it out. It's hilarious and beautiful) and we'll be seeing some editors etc...in May together so I may yet break into Vertigo. Also
doirn did a cover for the official 'Regular Show' comic and it's really cool: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12481833/ . I'm really proud of both of them for taking their careers so far and feel blessed that they'd call a weird little dude like me their friend. You ladies rock!
That's really all I have for now; a mix of good and bad. If you ever have questions or need an update you can, as usual, always note me and I'll give you the most up to date info I possibly can. Thanks for everything: support, conversation, enthusiasm, all of it. I'll keep this journal updated whenever things that affect my output come to light, though I also update my twitter a lot ( https://twitter.com/Boneitis ) so feel free to follow me there too.

Well hey FA's back, but for how long???
Posted 12 years agoSomeday the go-to furry art website won't be a terrible one. Some day.
Since that day isn't today I just want to give some holiday heads-ups:
-I need to post the next FS page! I'll do that after I post this. It's been done for a while but no FA to post it to! As for new pages: I've got almost all of this issue penciled but, in case you haven't noticed, the pages are gradually growing more and more elaborate and, with the holidays, travel, being very sick, commissions to draw, etc... I've gotta stop updating for a bit. Amazingly that heavy inking takes a long time so I'm going to resume regular updates in January once the Holidays have passed and I've gotten my latest batch of commissions drawn. Then it's back to the inking/coloring grind.
-Quick sick-stuff update: I'm still really sick! Lyme disease, it turns out, is really hard to kick so I'm seeing MORE specialists in January and then another one in April. So, I'm still going to be a little sluggish about updating (not by choice!) until this gets sorted out and killed. I have no idea how long that will take but I'll keep people updated. I actually hate writing about it and, if I didn't have readers and customers to satisfy, I wouldn't mention it at all. But I do, and they deserve to know what's going on.
That's all I really needed to say; things are slow and I, regrettably, have to not work on FS for awhile yada yada. Regardless, have a cool Christmas everyone, I'll be out of town for a week starting this Friday so I may not be able to get back to you depending on things so DON'T FREAK OUT

2013 Meme
Posted 12 years agoIt's the beginning of December but OH WELL I feel like doing this during an inking break.
1. Was 2013 a good year for you? Why?
Sort of. I did better at cons, put out more work, and I think improved as an artist. But I also got diagnosed with Lyme disease and have yet to recover and that's made a lot of things more difficult. Still, I know I'm going to get better (even if it takes years) and then life's gonna feel like Easy Mode so it's something to look forward to.
2. What was your favorite moment of the year?
When I broke my previous sales record at AC with my friend
grimshanks was a pretty great feeling!
3. What was your least favorite moment of the year?
When I relapsed back in September or when I had a spinal tap. Holy shit I do NOT like being confined to a couch.
4. Where were you when 2013 began?
In stupid Alabama.
5. Who were you with?
With my mom, we watched some New Years thing on TV.
6. Where will you be when 2013 ends?
In Saint Louis for a brief respite.
7. Who will you be with when 2013 ends?
Friends I haven't seen in too long!
8. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions of 2013?
"Get my, or any, comic published legit. That'd be great." Sort of, I self published issue 2 of "False Start" and I'm really proud of it! Sadly, due to medical issues I had to miss a bunch of actual publishing opportunities.
9. Do you have New Year's Resolution(s) for 2013?
Just keep going bigger.
10. Did you fall in love in 2013?
I love a few people a whole lot and continue to do so.
11. If yes, with who?
Same people, couldn't do anything without em.
12. If yes, do they know?
Of course! I'm not very shy.
13. Are you still in love with them?
Yes damn it!
14. You regret it?
Never!
15. Did you break up with anyone in 2013?
No relationships, so no (I'm picky).
16. Did you make any new friends in 2013?
I met some cool folks but my old standbys have been more than ample. Also artists hate me.

Half of September.
19. Did you travel outside of your country of residence in 2013?
Nah, just my usual con route.
20. How many different states / provinces did you travel to in 2013?
Pennsylvania, Georgia, Missouri, Illinois. Sadly not Hawaii.
21. Did you lose anybody close to you in 2013?
I watched a couple of friends make some really un-professional decisions and then be really remorseless about it so I had to let them go as not to stain my career. It really sucks but I have a low tolerance threshold for stupidity, so out ya go losers.
22. Did you miss anybody in the past year?
I always miss my out-of-state friends a lot, they're all an amazing bunch.
23. What was your favorite movie that you saw in 2013?

24. What was your favorite song from 2013?
"Contact" by Daft Punk is easily the standout for me.
25. What was your favorite record from 2013?
In terms of "listened to the most" it's probably the new MSI album, lord I listened to it a zillion times.
26. How many concerts did you see in 2013?
Just one, I saw Muse and Cage the Elephant with
doirn and it was an amaaaaaazing show.
27. Did you have a favorite concert in 2013?
Yeah. That one.
28. Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2013?
At Anthrocon I'm amazed that
grimshanks and I did not die. Chocolate Yeti I tell you what.
29. Did you do a lot of drugs in 2013?
In that I ACTUALLY did them for the first time yes.
30. How many people did you sleep with in 2013?
Well if we're counting literal just sleeping it's kind of a bunch since I share beds with people at cons. I don't talk about my sex life in public because that's for losers.
31. Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year?
I didn't buy the Civilization V expansion "Brave New World" until just last week, what was I thinking??? That game's great!
33. What was the worst lie someone told you in 2013?
"<3 your brain!!!!"
34. Did you treat somebody badly in 2013?

Number amount.
37. What was your proudest moment of 2013?
Getting my big box of Issue 2's at MFF.

I'd shake some sense into this one really talented, really stubborn guy I know.
40. What are your plans for 2014?
Keep making comics and expanding as best I can!

I Didn't Write an MFF Con Report.
Posted 12 years agoI was, however, at MFF and these are some things that happened:
-I sat next to
doirn everyday because of course I did. On my other side was, on Day 1:
wolfyama who was a sharp dressed stud, Day 2:
stigmata who I bought I fly as hell ink sketch of Solid Snake from and on Day 3 it was some person named Clark who had a shiny hat and a kigu. I don't like kigus but you are definitely allowed to wear them.
-I roomed with a guy named Oliver but he never gave me his FA so I guess that's a mystery lost to time or until he sees this. He dressed like Mr. Rogers if Mr. Rogers were an anime.
-I didn't do any events, instead I decided to fill all of my at-the-con slots within three hours (huzzah) and then spent the rest of the weekend working on drawing stuff. Hanging out with me is a non-stop thrill ride I hope you're gathering, also that if you want art from me at a con you'll need to beat people up for it it seems (I did not see myself getting to this point but here we are. Together).
-I also got a lot of commissions of "dudes in their underwear lookin' hot" which I assume had nothing to do with this being one of my main display images: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11819987/
-I got the 2nd issue of "False Start" printed and it looks pretty sharp despite being really weird. I got to talk with some fans and it was pretty much the best.
-I got to meet
nut-case who has a livestream that I frequently crash. She took it pretty well.
-A man screamed at me about "posers" a lot because for some reason I was the person to talk to about this. It was pretty intense, but also very uncomfortable.
-The chihuahua men (My Favorites) sold out hard because I saw a bunch of foxes in their shopping cart thing (which USED to be exclusively chihuahuas) and I didn't take their lack of integrity very well.
-The Juggling-Man returned but he had cooled his jets a lot and I'm really proud of his progress, but the scary Applejack quadsuit wasn't there and I wanted to ride it again. Sacrifices have to be made I suppose.
-I bet a lot of other stuff happened but this is most of what I can remember at this exact moment in time so that's what ya get unless you remind me in the comments which you probably should.

Heading out to MFF Tomorrow! (Early for a reason)
Posted 12 years agoI'm heading out for MFF tomorrow and just a few things before I head out the door:
-I'm leaving a week early so I can hang out in Chicago for a bit with
doirn and see the Field Museum and the Shedd, etc...Don't worry! I know the actual con is next weekend but I wanted to see something OTHER than the same damn hotel interior for the third year straight.
-Issue 2 of "False Start" will have physical copies shipped directly to the con and I should have them Thursday and ready to sell by Friday!
-Speaking of False Start: no new pages for two weeks since I'll be out of town! It'll resume updating along with my regular commission output once I'm back.
-I've got some new things to sell: Charms ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11969081/ ) and bandanas based on the False Start Pattern I had done: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11749025/ and will, of course, be selling prints like usual.
-UNLIKE USUAL in addition to my usual prints I'll have two binders of older "Clearance" prints that I'll be selling for a buck apiece.
-I'll have a bunch of originals on hand for sale also, mostly detailed sketches and inked drawings.
-I'm also giving out free promo postcards for myself (https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BZPBuAn.....D0_0.jpg:large) and for mine and Doirn's respective comics (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11808777/) which are double sided and contain art by the both of us.
-And, I've said it a few times but it doesn't hurt to reiterate: this will likely be the only weekend I will be opening up for commissions again until FWA (I keep very busy what with the job, the comic, and the lengthy finishing process on each piece) so if you've been wanting something from me then you can get a badge or sketch at the con (limited to ten slots total) or take a pre-order (I take a lot of these every con!).
-I really, more than anything, look forward to seeing lots of people, old and new, and would love to hear from anyone who likes my comic or really anything I work on. It's been a very rough year and this con I'm hoping really goes well so I can close out my "Art-Year" with a bang!

Hey it counts as "furry" and it's a comic...
Posted 12 years ago...so I'm gonna write about it dammit. Specifically I'm referring to my college friend's
mynameismad's upcoming "Regular Show" spinoff "Skips" that comes out in three days! To be even MORE specific this isn't like a fan comic or a crappy 'zine or something, this is the official comic by Boom Studios and is "Regular Show" canon. Obviously, Mad is very excited: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11951278/
A little background info: I went to college and graduated with Mad and, while we were friends and still are, we're VERY different as artists. She draws in a lovable, cartoon-ey style and I draw...however the hell I draw; she's chiefly known for her web-comic "Sakana" (which is about a group of folks working in the Japanese Sukiji fish market) and I do a comic that makes no goddamn sense, etc... Regardless of all that she still follows me along to furry-themed conventions sometimes and has been entirely too supportive of all the insane decisions I regularly make. Now she's got her own six-issue mini-series and, damn, the girl deserves it.
So, the reason I'm writing this is one: because Regular Show totally counts as furry and this is a comic and it will be good (I know what it's about hehhhhhh) and 2) Mad's always supported me and, due to our IMMENSE audience differences, there's never been a whole lot I could do to "help" her out (I put that in quotes because she's tough as nails and doesn't need help from anybody ever, it's downright impressive) and I'm just hoping a few of you will consider picking it up.
I know I will be.

MFF Info (Protip: I will be there)
Posted 12 years agoWhere are you staying?
I'll be at the main hotel from Friday night to Monday morning.
What day are you getting there?
The Monday before the convention since
doirn and I have decided to have some fun seeing the actual city for once (lots of museums!)
Where will you be most of the time during the day/s?
I will be in the Artist Alley mostly, likely the "London Room".
Who will you be rooming with?
doirn (wow really?) and
grindylow
Do you do free art?
If I'm in a very good mood I sometimes doodle FS characters for people at parties and stuff but that's more for fun. Don't ask me for free art, I'm at the con to do my job after all!
Do you do trades?
People are usually really stand-offish about trades with me so nooooooo.
Do you do commissions?
Commissions are my favorite! (Ok comics are my favorite but commishes are second)
Do you have prints/ CDs?
I have over a hundred full color prints available, grab a few if you want to put a bunch of weird stuff on your walls or in a folder that you don't show to anybody or slip in a spiteful co-workers desk as blackmail.
Do you do badges?
I take exactly ten badges per con, at AC they filled up in two hours so if you want one be quick!
What is your gender?
Arbitrary variable.
How old are you?
25.
Are you taken?
Single. Good luck.
Do you have a fursuit?
Naw grrl.
Can I touch you?
What like? My face? That's weird. Don't touch my face. A spirited handshake/bro hug though? That I can do.
Can I talk to you?
Sure! But if you table-block that's no good, don't do that!
Can we hang out?
Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't, I keep pretty busy. Don't get upset if I gotta turn down your opportunity, if only cons never ended and I could form a blazing soul bond with every cool person I met!
Can I look in your sketchbook?
Nope, too many spoilers!
Can I draw in your sketchbook?
I DO have one that I let people draw in so yes that's cool and yeah you can look through that one oh whoops
Can I buy you a drink?
Always.
Can I take your picture?
Sure! I took a bunch of pictures with people at AC for the first time and it was super cool! I loved it!
Edit:
adriofthedead might be hanging with us whooooooooo

HAPPY BIDDING COOL PEOPLE
Relapse/Recovery Update
Posted 12 years agoI'd been trying to not write this journal since I don't like to talk about being sick to really anybody other than close-friends (I consider it hideously embarrassing) however I've been getting the odd note/e-mail asking about commissions and whatnot since I've slowed up on that front and people have been very chill about it; but it's been piling up, so some brief explanations are in order. Namely, about a month ago I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease (details here if you missed it: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4999336/ ) and put on a treatment regimen. Within two weeks most of my symptoms had cleared up and I seemed fine, so I finished the regimen and assumed the worst was behind me. Sadly about two weeks ago all of my symptoms came roaring back and left me mostly bedridden due to a lot of symptoms I really don't want to get into (once again: embarrassing) and most days I couldn't sit up even in a chair for more than two hours a day. Naturally this made it pretty hard to work on anything, but I tried to keep getting pages and commissions done in equal amounts as just sitting around and playing video games/watching TV makes me go absolutely bonkers.
Now that all sounds horrible right? Well it's not so bad, I'm on a new treatment regimen and should be feeling better again soon! Though when I'll have actually rid myself of this dumb thing is beyond me, it could be quite a while or within a month; I'm a comic artist not a doctor. So here's my plan currently: to do my absolute best to keep updating "False Start" once a week and to get all my commissions done or at least really damn close by MFF so I can re-open (though yes I'm still doing those coloring collaboration commissions since they go very quickly and have been good for my psyche). If it comes down to it I may put FS on a week or two hiatus to focus on getting people's stuff done. As usual if you believe this time-frame is unacceptable or for really any reason are unsatisfied with how I'm handling the situation then you can note me here or email me ( boneitisuno[at]gmail.com ) and I will refund you for the part of your commission that has yet to be finished (I've drawn all of them already so no full refunds). Also you can always note me for updates and just with general questions. Suffice it to say I've really enjoyed working on people's cool ideas during this time (I think I've put out some neat-o work despite the illness) and hope I'll get to continue to do so at MFF!

FA Meme (The questions seemed cool!)
Posted 12 years ago1. Why did you join FurAffinity?
Because I'm not a moron. I draw furry art and want to make money off of it, so this is the only logical step.
2. What does your username have to do with you?
It was a disease I had when I was 12.
3. What is your current avatar of?
Bone as the sexy nurse from the cover of Blink 182's "Enema of the State". If you couldn't put that together you probably are not very fun to listen to music with.
4. How many watchers do you have, and how many do you watch?
3931, 186
5. Do you have more than one account?
No.
6. Name 3 of your favorite artists on FA.
(This was a toughie)
rayfkm ,
aycee , and
kalahari
7. What artist do you admire because of their personality?
My friend
doirn is obviously an awesome person for me to sound my artistic ideas off of, but I also admire a lot of the artists who work for Vertigo comics since they're not afraid to be loud and proud in their stories.
8. Do you comment, fave, or both?
I go both ways.
9. What do you typically post on FA?
Commissions and my comic.
10.What's your favorite submission in your gallery?
It's not the best thing I've ever made but it's certainly the beginning of the thing I'm most proud of: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7966557
11. What are the things you wish you could draw better?
I still think I've yet to draw the perfect pair of breasts, and until I have I will not be able to rest peacefully.
12. How many hours a day do you spend on FA?
Not even one.
13. Are you a fast, slow, or medium typer?
Middling.
14. What is the most annoying thing people ask you?
"Is 'False Start' going to be pornographic?"
15. What is the most annoying/offending comment you've received?
"Is 'False Start' going to be pornographic?"
16. What/who inspires you?
Comic artists who write and draw amazing, beautiful, elaborate graphic novels. Guys like Jeff Smith, Eric Powell, and Sean Murphy are an endless inspiration to me. If you've never read their stuff please do, it'll change your world. I also take a lot of inspiration from musicians with integrity, bands like 'Rage Against the Machine" and "Mindless Self Indulgence" not only put out crazy cool music but they're never afraid to say exactly what they want. I think people who manage to do their own thing in environments that are essentially screaming at them to CONFORM are the coolest people in the world. Never sell out, never surrender.
17. Everyone has considered leaving FA once or twice. Have you? Why?
Yes, mainly because I really truly loathe the vast majority of furry art. It's depressing how beloved some of this awful, terrible, no good bullshit is. But it's the motivation to beat these losers into the ground that keeps me going.

Good News Everyone!
Posted 12 years agoOver the past half year I've on and off posted about a Mysterious Medical Condition that was seriously affecting my vision and energy levels. I went to a total of seven different specialists over the course of this mystery disease journey, had a spinal tap, and did more blood work than I ever care to do again. The blood work in particular was becoming my least favorite because the second to last time I almost passed out, and last time I just flat out hit the deck. This was unusual as I've given blood my whole life and had never succumbed to this. Luckily that last test was totally worth konking out over because they finally figured out what's wrong with me: I have Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever A.K.A. Lyme Disease. So, a few notes:
-No it's not contagious, you won't have gotten it from shaking my hand at AC or anything like that. You get it from tick bites and I am, luckily, not a tick and I don't suck people's blood.
-It accounts for all of my weird problems over the last six months and possibly some from even before this. It can lay dormant for years or just advance slowly. I have it in the latter stages.
-It's completely treatable via antibiotics. I have to take some pills for a month and *poof* it should be gone.
Is that everything? I think so! So yeah, I should get better, productivity should increase, and (unrelated) "False Start" comes back at the end of this week.
Yippee!

Correction! Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Lyme disease are two different diseases! I had/have both.

A Quick Reminder is Contained Within this Journal
Posted 12 years agoYou are TOTALLY allowed to post commissions that you get from me in your galleries! A lot of people ask me if they can do that and I always assumed it was a given! But some folks never do and I don't want them not to post their commission because I/they never brought it up. It's weird to get a huge glowing response from a commissioner and then check out their gallery later and see that they never posted what they got from you. I understand some people have private commissions and whatnot, but maybe others are just forgetting? I don't really know, I just know that when I get art I flaunt it!
So, seriously, post away! It's beyond cool with me (and hell, I could use the exposure).

Stuffed Animal Yard Sale Mutha Uckers!
Posted 12 years agoOk it's not mine, I have like....two stuffed animals and they're both ferrets so no one's getting them. BUT

BUT
My oft-mentioned friend and partner-in-convention-crime
doirn, AKA Stax, AKA Dominoes Pasta Bread Bowl, is! It's here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11138160/ She's also selling journals and shirts and stuff and I think a collar. It's all furry gear essentially and the prices are bottom-of-the-eel-barrel (but less slimy). So check it out, you might find something cool, or maybe you won't and you can add that to your ever-expanding list of "Reasons to Murder the Hell out of That Fucking Ferret".
Love,

Belated Post-AC journal (This one says lots of nice things)
Posted 12 years agoHey Anthrocon was amazing this year, easily the best con I've ever done. I'd never felt so respected by fans and peers alike, it was a frikkin' fantastic experience. After doing this for five years it felt kinda awesome to REALLY take something away from the experience (and totally looking forward to topping it next year). I can't possibly name all the cool, enthusiastic people I met but you know who you are and you are amazing and please come back next year so I can continue to get away with doing this.
Anyhow, post con for the first time I didn't get con crud! Hooray! So naturally when I returned to work I bonked my head on an exhibit and took two days to get better. This was made even MORE fun because just a week BEFORE the con I had gotten a concussion while cleaning my laundry room. This is all compounded by those still-present-and-not-going-away vision issues I've mentioned before. This segues nicely into the fact that I may disappear for a week (again) to see ANOTHER group of specialists (again) to hopefully get at least a diagnoses. Seven specialists and over a hundred days in and all I've been told is that I'm "a puzzle".
Great, right?
But anyhow I've started sketching out everyone's commissions from the con and working on finishing the backlogged ones I have, it's been fun! However the con went so EXCEEDINGLY WELL that I'm fairly overwhelmed and won't be able to get back to updating "False Start" till probably around late August. I've got about a third of the issue penciled at least, but no new pages until I put a sizable dent in my commission log. Speaking of commissions....
THEY ARE CLOSED!
Like I said, I'd never ever had anything like this AC happen to me and, despite my middling internet presence, people seem to be EXTREMELY enthusiastic about my art. Which honestly kind of bowls me over like holy cow what? Me? Really? Well, alright then if you insist. So yeah, in order to get the commissions done and get FS back on a decent schedule I will not be re-opening commissions until MFF or until I really really need the money. Regardless, if you have any questions about the status of YOUR commission you can always note me here. Or, if just knowing more what I'm up to on a day-to-day basis is your thing then you can follow me on my twitter or tumblr: https://twitter.com/Boneitis and http://boneitisuno.tumblr.com/ respectively. I post a lot of art on my tumblr that never ends up here so it's kinda fun (sketches, layouts, inked things, etc...).
In short: Anthrocon was great, apparently people somehow like me and what I do, commissions are closed, and I'm working non-stop!
