Yeah. Dusting off the site some. I'll be returning to it. But it's gonna be slow going. Took 4 refreshes just to nuke the submissions alone.
I'll likely be going on a watch list purge at some point. Dunno when yet though.

Gallery Cleared + Plans in the works
Posted 10 years agoI'm not fully leaving FA. I'm simply clearing out my gallery. As most of my artwork lacks any sort of watermark on them, I've opted to clean them out.

As it is, even with tax returns I cannot afford enough to really get a car easily, and need some extra cash to help offset the prices, or at least help in saving up for it. as well as other nice things.

Christmas come and gone, a New year and new beginnings
Posted 11 years agoSo yeah. Much of what happened in the previous journal or was supposed to happen? Nada.
Update for those who don't know: I am no longer on speaking terms with my mother. She has decided to choose her boyfriend over her own son for the last time. It's clear I can't rely on people for anything anymore, no matter how big or how small.
Regardless, I am still without a car. Boo. Tax Returns will hopefully help with that, but for now I'm focusing away. Christmas, to put it bluntly: Sucked. It was not because of work but because I had no one to really spend it with. Yes I may live with Frosty but I dunno. Still felt wrong and off. I can only be thankful that the full five days of rest from new Years partying in Maine was a gracious respite, and a refresher to kickstart my life back into gear MY way.
How am I starting that? Well, first off, I've finally gotten health insurance. Nothing special, Minutemen, but it was within my budget. I don't expect to be making too many hospital visits anytime soon, so hopefully it's more of a precaution so I don't get Penalized on my taxes.
From there, next is loan and debt consolodation, specifically with my student Loans and debts I owe to places. Aside from Student Loans, none of them are huge, but they are there and they are bearing down on me.
From there... well, who knows. I do want to eventually get a car, as well as advance in company if possible, but again, who knows.

Clearing the dust! Updates
Posted 12 years agoWell, been a while hasn't it? Six months since any sort of update, and ten months since a full life update? Well, let's give some of that.
So, most of my close friends know, but I'm now out of college. However, those fours years have nothing to show except student Debt and bad memories. Mistakes were made, life hit hard, and things were done that could not be taken back. However, i long ago by my third year said to myself that if I had to leave without completing my degree, I would give myself 3-5 years to get my life in order, get an associates degree, then work towards a Bachelor in a field that would advance whatever career I've seemingly made for myself. I still plan to stick to this, but it will be hard. Though, when is life not hard? Life is but a series of struggles we must overcome, hmm?
Got into a pretty nice relationship for a while as well, but it was decided we both needed more time to fix ourselves. This was the life changing moment I hinted at way back, but never said more about. Perhaps there will be luck down the road but gonna focus on fixing myself first. It did teach me I still have a lot to learn about relationships though.
Anywho, so as I mentioned about 6 months ago, I've been staying with my gracious friend Frosty while in Massachusetts. He's been letting me stay here for free of charge, but I wont be free-loading for long with luck. Why? because during the six months I've been here, I've been working. It's been hard, as it's only been part time, but I've gone from working at TJ Maxx in Newton, to doing an emergency transfer to Marshalls near me, and soon getting a whole new position at Hannafords for more pay + More hours. TJs was great, but it was still minimum wage, which wasn't so bad while I had the Saturn.
"But why did you transfer to Marshalls? What emergency was there?" Well, alot. First of all, as said, TJs was great, but minimum wage. I was taking hom very little compared to what I had to spend on repairs to my Trailblazer. However, a 'Yena in a nearby state offered me a deal: He gets my Trailblazer, and I get his Saturn SL2 with no problems aside from the lack of AC. A sweet deal, as what sealed it was the upgrade in Gas Mileage from 18MPG to 40MPG Highway, which was where most of my travel was. It was extremely basic, but nice, and I actually liked the little plastic-mobile. Problem was it was a deal too good. During one time while trying to go from my work in newton to Guil's place, I lost control on the highway. Still not sure how, but I went in the median between highway and exit and tore the front axle off while running over a sign. Car was towed, damage estimates and towing costs were too much. Stayed at Guil's for a few days to recover and let work know I would need to cease working for them because of this. One manager had offered to drive me, but had forgotten to pick me up on the day he was supposed to.
So I ended up transferring to Marshalls. Thought this would be good, cause it's only a half hours walk down the road [Which seems to BAFFLE people that I walk that far too work] and the place was always in desperate need of people, so I figured I had a shot at getting more hours. Only, I was wrong. They kept ganking me on hours and requiring too much of me with the hours they gave me. I was NOT having this, and just before FurFright started looking elsewhere. Got a breakthru when Guil pretty much decided to prove to me how much more useful networking is to a job search than even applying at all, and got me a job at his Hannafords for much higher pay than minimum, which I start that in a couple weeks time.
"But Border, without a car how will you work at Guil's Hannafords?" Simple. I'll have a car. I've been working my ass off to still try and fix my life, but also to save for a car. At first I had made the mistake in thinking it would cost me $800+, but after looking stuff up, I can in good faith get my mother's Jeep Grand Cherokee [04 with only 62K miles at most on her] for about $300. yay family sales tax exemption! Will have to register and insure it myself but can afford this. Unfortunatly it has some problems, namely the tires needing to be replaced asap, but it will mean I have wheels again, which will add to so much freedom. Of course, it will also tap into the money I take home. Jeeps are Jeeps, and they like gas. My mom's is no exception, and that 18 Gallon tank will hurt, but it will be necessary. And not too bad when budgeting.
Finally, went to FurFright. Sad to hear it's ending, but also hear people are gonna try and keep it going, just under a different moniker. All the power to them if they manage to do it and I'm willing to help myself, but not holding to anything. Will keep saving up for FurFright for this year, but until i hear anything it will just be a base savings account that may go to another con. Perhaps RF finally.
I do believe that's the extent of this update this time around. Happy trails~

Posted 12 years agoSo I figured I'd try one of these, because everyone loves free icons, and I want to challenge myself to draw icons.
So here's the deal: I will draw you a 100x100 icon of your character. This offer is only valid though from now, 5/31, to 6/8. You must post in that time frame to be considered. If I don't finish by 6/8 but you posted in said time frame, you will still get your icon!
Rules
One per person! If you want multiple icons, you must buy anything beyond the first. They're only $2 per icon beyond the first though. As for couples, you must BOTH comment and both mention it's a couples Icon.
Copywrited/Trademark Characters Character a Digimon or pokemorph? That's fine and dandy! However, characters that are not yours are not fine!
Watch Me! You MUST be watching me for me to draw you an icon. It's standard for most people now so you should know. And besides, I might offer more specials you might want in on.
Link! You must link to this journal. Spread the word out! No link journal, no art. Can be twitter, Tumblr, FA journal, you name it. Once you have linked this journal, provide me proof in your comment.

Something else I've not done but more than willing to attempt. Want a Badge? I'll draw it! $8 gets you a badge that is inked, colored, and shaded. Alternativly, if you want it for a con coming up [Like AC] and I find a local person going who is willing to do so, I will gift them the badgets to give you in person at the con :3
AC Styled Badges!
This years AC theme happens to be Fast and the Furriest. Aka vehicles. AKA fast cars. AKA what I kinda like. So, as a special incentive bonus from now until AC, you can commission me for $5 For a full inked, colored, and shaded badge that features your character on some part of a car of your choice [Hood, rear, roof, or a macro'd steeringwheel, etc], with the emblem of the car stylized to be within the name at the bottom of the badge. [Pontiac or Tesla Motors Emblem for example as Replacements for a T, Chevy's Bowtie breaking up a name that is two words, or your name stylized like a Ford Logo]. Like with what is mentioned above, I will either ship them out with Shipping costs tacked on, or find a friend who is going to AC and is willing to be my distributor. And I will promise to get all out in time for AC, within reason [If you order the day before, well, that might prove difficult.]
Time frame
I work pretty quick. Normal picutres take me between three days to a week, so I expect Icons to take perhaps a couple days. Not long at all. And I promise to get every request done within the time frame done.

Fine and Dandy, except I am Dirt poor. the person who is graciously letting me leech off him, Frosty, is as said, letting me mooch off him for food when I'm here, but I barely have money for Gas or food that I could take in for lunch in order to not be working on an empty stomach.
So here's the deal. My first full paycheck I receive in two weeks. But as said, this is a Part time job. To offset some costs and add a bit of extra income until I either find a full time job or a second part time, I am advertising for commissions, and would appreciate if anyone would help in advertising. I'm cheap! And relatively quick turn around rate when Money is involved.

Nemo In Maine and other Stories

Been a while, hasn't it? Probably high time I actually have a journal to update with, hmm? Well, let's start with the most recent event, Nemo. Now, all my friends back home I guess got the worst of it, but here up in Maine, still got some bad stuff. Lots of the dangerous powder snow and some high winds whipping it around. Was making for every dangerous, fun, excellent conditions to drive a Jeep in. Survived it though. Got bad Friday Night while gaming with friends but made it back alive, then had to make a second trek yesterday to get Toilet paper and food, but not as bad as the night driving back. Just been inside with the one roommate who still basically lives here (As Skye got a girlfriend and practically spends every night there) and watching movies and enjoying cocoa.
Reversing from there, mostly good news. My mother managed to snag a job before I left for Maine, and now is working for Sears Corp. It's easy work and not bad at all, so she's enjoying it. Just finished the training last I talked with her. What's more, she has a plan to fix her life once and for all: Leaving Peter. She is officially sick of him and our ungrateful roommate back home (Did I mention? We have a house. Nice, but sucky people living there) so as soon as she has saved up enough money, she is moving out, and not giving Peter a lick of a hint as to where she is going, as well as changing her number and possibly carriers. Me and her have worked out a plan as well, so that I will not be left hanging. If she has enough to move out, she will not do so until I can return from college for a short period of time at minimum of a weekend, so I can collect my stuff and move it to a friend who has agreed to house me in just such a situation. This way, she doesn't need to find a place for me to stay.
As I more or less mentioned, found a house to live. it's in Brockton, so say what you will, but nice-ish and in a nice area. Not spending much time there though, as I'm in my apartment in college right now.
Also, there is another aspect of my life that has been progressing... but I'm going to wait to mention more on that. Things might alter that really quickly.

So Christmas has come and gone, and with previous years I posted about the loot I received. Well, this year, aside from two games on Steam a couple friends graciously bought me (Miasmata and The Secret World), I received nothing more this Christmas other than Christmas cards. But this does not make me upset. Why? Because the weeks leading up to and the actual days of Christmas and Christmas Eve were spent with friends and Family that I care about, and that's all that really matters. What matters to me and made me happy, was being able to see my friends, spend time with them, laugh.
That was all that mattered to me. Getting to spend time with friends so I might be happy, and they might be happy in exchange. Even the brief visit to my mother was okay. I didn't need gifts to be happy, because the best gift of all, was being with the ones I love.
So allow me to be sappy, and hope that your own was just as happy.

Year end Wrap-Up Meme
Posted 13 years ago1. Was 2012 a good year for you? Why?
Plain and simply, no. Quite a few of my friends might be shocked to hear this, but this year is probably the worst I could ever remember happening. It started okay-ish I guess, depending on your definition of Okay, but all the shit happening in my life not long after it started just ruined everything. Things like Losing the House, having to move into My Mother’s Boyfriend’s mother’s house, having to put down one of the dogs because of how old she was and we couldn’t keep three dogs in this new house, and having to live an entire summer of off one meal a day. Which was usually bread. Just over all, this year was pure suck. I also won’t lie, if it weren’t for a lot of my friends at this point, who were the only safe thing I had anymore this year, I’d probably not be here anymore. I won’t be surprised if I come out of this year with a form of Clinical depression.
2. What was your favorite moment of the year?
Favorite? Probably FurFright and then the Weekend at Frosty’s where I was able to actually just be able to escape from everything and have a chance to not focus on the bad in the world. Frosty’s didn’t quite end as wonderfully as FurFright, due to some small details, but it still was a good time.
3. What was your least favorite moment of the year?
Getting that text from my mother with the words ‘We have lost the house’.
4. Where were you when 2012 began?
I don’t honestly remember…
5. Who were you with?
Like said, don’t remember…
6. Where will you be when 2012 ends?
With luck? In my new house in Brockton.
7. Who will you be with when 2012 ends?
Possibly sharing time with Liko or someone else just to have someone to spend time with.
8. Did you keep your New Year's Resolutions of 2012?
To lose weight? Sure. Did I do it healthily? Fuck no.
9. Do you have New Year's Resolution(s) for 2013?
Get my life under control? It’s a long shot, but I’d like to have some semblance of control and to be able to also Budget better.
10. Did you fall in love in 2012?
That’s hard to say. Did I fall in love? Perhaps. There were certainly plenty of people over the year I’ve become infatuated with or had crushes on, but when it comes down to it, there’s really only three that I kept coming back to or that never left, and therefore possibly “Fell in Love with”.

You really wanna know? Ask me yourself in note, IM, twitter, etc. Not gonna say it for the sake of saying it.
12. If yes, do they know?
I don’t think so. I mean, maybe? But I don’t think they realize because I haven’t realized it till recently myself.

Two of them yeah, for sure. One of them’s a little iffy, but maybe.

Falling in love with three of my friends? Not really. I love everyone in some sense. These three just somehow graduated beyond that.

Nope. Went in Single, going out Single.

A few new friends in various places and forms.

Posted 13 years agoI feel like I owe this to some people.
Anyway, recently I fell into a slump after attending a small get-together this weekend. I was happy as could be at the get-together, but after it and on the drive back, I started having thoughts and doubts about a lot of stuff. Much of it stemmed from the fact that life seemed to be sinking slower and slower into a pit of hell, in that I no longer had a room at the house in Mass where I reside in the summer.It seems the woman who owns the house has some agenda against me (She seems to think I'm constantly rude when I'm as polite as a church mouse!) and after moving up to college basically took over the room that was to be mine and stored all of her shit in it, thereby leaving no room for when I came back down Christmas Break. I had left my mom's house that weekend before heading to the get together with the parting words from my mom of "We're hoping to have a house by Christmas. Peter is trying." And needless to say, the weekend served to distract me from the pain of realizing this fact I guess. I had gotten back to Maine after four to five hours, went more or less straight to my room, laid down in my bed and basically cried. I cried, because once more I felt homeless.
Monday I still felt like Shit too. Just kept feeling like shit that entire day and limited interactions as much as possible. Had roommate help me clean out the Jeep I'm now driving (Was my mom's. Driving it to fix it up and get it working new while she has the Chevy) but after that the feelings returned. I even later made a trip to Coldstone with roommates and watched the Town, but all I could think about was how sad I was. Nothing was helping, and once more, went to sleep in tears.
Tuesday woke up again with the same dread feelings, worse that I had classes majority of the day and a 3 hour work day to deal with. But then I get this txt at work from my mom:
"Someone finally accepted Peters offer on a house. Now hopefully the inspection foes well so we can move."
She then later emailed me the listing.
Needless to say, I was dancing in the kitchen at work. I was being as faggy as faggy could be and still flipping burgers like a boss. I swear I was channeling my inner Lafayette! Still waiting on results of the inspection... but this means alot. It means we have a potential quaint little one floor house. It means I'll have my own bedroom, and it means we're not living under the mother of my mother's boyfriend's roof.
Just getting this out to 1: Explain why I was down the past couple days, and 2: Explain why I'm now elated.

Thursday
Avoided being killed in Worcester while trying to pick up Liko from WPI, then drove down to Cromwell and pulled in, grabbing room keys, then heading to Pre-reg. Had Liko and Nevin Spending night in my room on Thursday Night as my other roomies Guil and Lutris wouldn't get there till Friday. Got a little tipsy, hung with people, and then went to bed.
Friday
Again, had an awesome time with people. Went to opening ceremonies and had my eyes balling out. Played Cards Against Humanity late at night with folks, then afterwards got Shitfaced and hung with Liko and some of his friends. We did drunk karaoke and I got so drunk I guess I kissed the poor Fenn x3 Went to bed later. Also had my car in the car show for Shits and giggles.
Saturday
Pretty awesome. Went to only really one panel which was Nexus' Adv. Fursuit performance panel. Later got shitfaced again, hung out with people. There was Five Guys, and then finally yet MORE Cards Agaisnt Humanity with awesome people. Oh, and there was FireFright 2012. Kinda pissed at that, but finally got to chat and hang in length with Silver as well as meet a bunch more people. Oh and at some point went to the Ham Furs panel.
Sunday
Sandy can kiss my ass. All my roommates left early because of it, which is sad cause it means Nevin had to leave early too and he hoped to stay full time till Monday. But yeah. Hung out in charity auction for a bit, went to closing ceremonies, then mostly hung in my room pretty much. Eventually had Caepha and Kint pop by for chatting, and Caepha stayed the night because he got locked out.

Overall, awesome. Met a bunch of new people. Planning to probably volunteer next year, as it looked like they needed it. As for the Dorsai stuff, I only had two encounters. Once when they knocked on the room I was playing Cards Agaisnt Humanity in on Friday night and asked us to quiet down [Kinda rudely, but not overly so], and then once again that same night when they polietly requested myself and Liko and others move ourselves to the Main con space so that people could sleep. Yes, politely requested. Hard to believe.
Anyway, will be returning to Mass in December. The weekend of the 14th actually. I return to Nowhere Maine the 22nd of January (more likely the weekend Prior). So yeah. Mark your calenders for the Cougah's Return!

So a little while ago as many of my friends know, I ended up in a Ditch while driving due to something going wrong with my car. Most of the issues have been fixed now, but my car still makes an odd high pitched noise that I think might be related to Power Steering. Going to call the shop down the road about it and hope they take a second look, figure it out, and then fix it. I may have made it down to Scizon in Portland and back with my car as such, but it's worrisome. Even more so with the massive lack of headlights X_X
Also been fixing up my car a bit and doing some detailing to make it nicer. Partially want this done before FurFright but can't say it'll get done by then sadly.
School's been kicking my ass as well, but keeping up as much as I can. Still worried about actually finishing it but I've got plans for pretty much all of the scenarios.

Deer Collision: Need money for repairs
Posted 13 years agoAt about 4:10-4:20 AM this morning, while driving I-495 NB to drop 
Lunostophiles at Forge Park MBTA station so Nevinfox could drive him to AC, I had a collision with a deer. I am fine. Luno is fine. Most that happened was we were shaken, seeing as we were rocking out in the faggiest possible way to Karma Chameleon when it happened. My car, too, is more or less fine. Fine, in the sense that it's drivable, but damage was definitely sustained.
Here is a picture of the damage.
I clipped the thing's head with my light and the body whipped around, which is why the damage is along the side as such. Light's pushed back, good bit of front left side is pushed back about half a foot or so, and it's all crunched in front of my door as you can see. Cosmetic for the most part, sans the lower part of my light being out now. However, the crunching under my door has caused the wirings inside to become exposed. That's damage I do not wish to keep at all.
I called my insurance and I'm covered for deer strikes with a $500 deductable. Problem is, getting said $500. I have it, IF I dig into savings accounts meant to be used for this next college year, namely food and gas funds. What I ask of you, the furry community and the five watchers I actually have who actually read my journals it seems, is to please spread the word. I am not asking for charity money. I am asking to be paid money, where I give you something in return. What would this something be? Any of the following:
Artwork of varying degrees
Stories of any subject and content
Granted, I've never really gotten much before when I tried promoting myself for commissions, but as you see, I'm also opening my writing to be commissioned. Yes, my writing, which I have always felt was my stronger juice. Commission prices are Negotiable, more or less Name-your own price, as far as Art. Writing is $5 per page. I Will Write [almost] ANYTHING. There is some subjects I know clearly better than others, but I will write nearly everything under the sun. In fact, there's really only one subject I can think of I refuse to write (Sorry scat lovers).

Car Part Question
Posted 13 years agoAnyone know anything about replacing a wiper mechanism? No, not the blade. The Mechanism. My rear windshield wiper on my 03 Chevy Trailblazer has been broken for over two years nowish, and I kinda want to get it replaced as it tends to dangle when I drive and make things awkward. I'm wonderign though. If I did replace it, would I need to replace the entire mechanism? Like including the motor and stuff inside the rear door? Everything about it still works, it just is broken off and won't sit anymore.
