It's been some time, and I feel like I just disappeared though that was never my intention. I miss FA and all the amazing artists and friends and I want to make an effort to be more social and bring art back into my life... art has been gone for a while, just like me, hahah!
Without divulging torrid details, life's been filled with a lot of good things but also a lot of tragedy. We're very lucky, and a lot of positive things have happened for our family; we're in a much better place than we might otherwise be, but I've lost a lot that I love and it's been hard to deal with. Among that are our three family dogs, whom we lost all of within a year, and then more recently my father who passed away. There's a lot more to all of that and other private things I can't get into but, I've been very tired. I feel their loss very deeply, in different ways of course, and I miss my father.
I've felt kind of empty a lot of the time, but I'm working on trying to do things that are healing and peaceful for my soul and family. I don't mean to dump that on anyone or air it out publicly, maybe just as something to commiserate with others who might be in a similar situation.
Art and the furry community are a part of that, and I haven't drawn much at all in the last couple of years and in a way that's part of the thing I need to climb out of; art's always been therapeutic and expressive and I need that now, and miss my friends and artists I love. So I'm making a concentrated effort to re-emerge into being back online as well a little more and to draw! I don't know if that means streams/hangouts sometime in the future but hopefully, and in the meantime I'm getting back to learning how to draw for myself and for progressing in skill.
If you've tried to reach out to me and I've been uncommunicative, that's why, but please know it's never been personal or intentional to avoid talking and I sincerely apologize to anyone who's messaged me or wondered where I went. I hope that things have been kind to everyone <3

I've worked out a schedule and am excited to open for commissions again! I'm going to try and do a couple every month, time allowing. You can view my commission pricing guide and TOS here! Please check out the TOS and timeline info before submitting a request!
For November, I'm opening for two sketchpaint, one painted, and one full illustration! They will all be done throughout the month and should be ready no later than the beginning of December. They may not necessarily be FCFS but I try to be fair.

Happy (belated) New Year~!
Posted 4 years agoHi hi! How have you all been? I hope things have been better rather than worse for everyone and that you had a restful holidays and New Year <3 Things are still rough but I know they're gonna get better. Though some days are harder than others of course XD;
I've been drawing but haven't been posting, I pretty much holed up inside my head for a while. Getting work done and just doing a day at a time, all of that. But I've sorely missed everyone and streaming, so I'm trying to break out of that! I did come to the realization that between regular work, I simply cannot do more complex commissions for a little bit, though I have some things I'd like to do that I know I can get done (small sketchpaint YCHs and a couple of YCHs I already have done). And then work my way back to bigger comms when I have the opportunity to assuredly complete them in a timely manner. This also means I have the chance to finish a couple of personal projects and post those, one of which I already put the first of up!
When I can nail down a day to stream for sure I'll be back regularly but stream when I can in the meantime! <3 It feels like things are always in a flux huh? But that's okay, I think that means good things on the horizon then right? XD <3

Commission Updates

I wanted to mention real quick some changes I'm going to be making soon that have been in the works for a little bit. Starting after the next round of commissions, I'll be updating my prices and commission types offered in a clearer way! After going over them and the work that I'd taken on, I realized that I hadn't updated them in four years or so! Ack x_x I also didn't take into account how long some of the work takes and what I offer, so after all is said and done, they should be much clearer and more straightforward!
I won't update my prices though until after the next round, and I'll post before I do so I can offer them one last time at the current rate, and the PWYW Headshot Sketch streams will still exist.
I'm excited to try some new things!

Posted 5 years agoWith all the craziness and worrisome news lately, I hope things are going well for everyone and that you're safe and secure! It's a scary time I know, and uncertainty makes it that much worse... I hope you're able to hunker down and have some time to relax for a while, and if not I hope things go smoothly for your job and that you stay safe! <3
My day job is essentially gone for the next few months if not longer, which is not great but does afford me more time to do art, so that's a definite upside haha! My husband is working now but we're unsure what's going to happen there. There just seems to be a lot of that right now.

Hey guys!!
I hope you're having a wonderful new year, and that you had a wonderful holiday!<3 It's been too long! I'm working hard on getting back to a good schedule until the summer rush for my job hits and even then, stay active then too! Did you guys do anything fun over the winter holidays? Do you have a new years resolution you're trying to keep?
Shak and I are trying to eat less meat and focus on only having some once or twice a month, and cut out most (but not all) dairy stuff too. He feels better when he does, and I don't mind it overmuch. Plus it lets me try some fun recipes! Occasionally it's been hard though, burgers are just so good... //drool
I'm streaming tonight if you'd like to stop by and say hi! I'm going back to focus on Thursdays and Saturdays! This coming Saturday I'm going to do a chat character creation too, so if you stop by you can participate in voting on the character's traits! It should be a lot of fun, so hope to see you soon! <3

We are going to spend some time at a local indoor event with babybear amd them hand out candy and watch Scooby Doo maybe! Any excuse to eat candy muahaha.
I should have said something earlier but no streaming this week, or if I can it'll be late and impromptu. Some unsettling stuff has happened; we are okay, I don't mean to sound cryptic or scary, I just need to be there for someone. We may be having a houseguest for a while. And that's fun! But that means more suprise late night party streams right?
I hope everyone has a great Halloween and gets to dress up as something fun!

Back from the summer~! Freebie raffle, streaming, YCHs!
Posted 6 years agoHi everyone!! I hope you all have had a fantastic summer! I've missed seeing everybody and hanging out streaming, but the mad rush of my job's seasonal swing has died down and now I can come back to focusing on art! <3
It's been good but incredibly busy; in addition to my normal job I took on new responsibilities and essentially got promoted, which is AWESOME but definitely takes up more time. As much as I love it though, it's nice to have a break from that and commuting a lot and get to spend more time drawing and painting fun stuff XD
This week I'm focusing on getting caught up and sending the last few things out that have been on hiatus, thank you everyone for bearing with me during the summer! If you have any questions, please do DM me! Otherwise if I haven't already, I'll be messaging the couple of people who have things I'm finishing up shortly. <3 I'm going to update my Trello as well, and that will be a good place to keep an eye on things!
I wanted to do something fun since I've been gone, so I'm going to do another freebie sketch raffle! It's been too long since I've done one so I'll post that shortly, and then draw it on my next stream!

Streaming Schedule + news!

I've sort of gone quiet here, it's been a busy while lately! I'm sorry for the radio silence but I'm steadily chipping away at work. I'm going to take a short break from commissions after I'm all caught up and get a better idea of what kind of queue I can take on for the summer. My dayjob started up with a force again; it's year round, but more or less heavily dependent on seasonal swings and summer through fall is the busiest time, and it got busier a good month and a half or so before it usually does. I'm not complaining! It's nice and I enjoy it, but it does make it a little more difficult to sit down and get a good amount of work done at a time haha XD
In addition, Hubs got a new job! He was going crazy after sitting at home for a long time and is happy to start something new! It seems like most of the people he works with are nice too, so I'm glad he'll be doing something he likes! <3
I should have posted about it a bit ago but I have to pull back from streaming for a week or so more before we have a set schedule now that I can work with, because his days are different from before! I'll post about it here as soon as we settle on one, and hopefully it'll be something that I can do with regularity! I always miss hanging out with everyone <3

The headcold is making me kinda loopy. Now if only I could take more cold medicine and watch some some Fire and Ice! That's what you're supposed to do, right?

Posted 7 years agoHey everyone! I hope you have had a fantastic Christmas and have a wonderful holiday season! It's been crazy busy with all our family this year but so much fun <3 Baby bear's first Christmas made everything exciting!
I'm working on wrapping up the YCHs that aren't quite finished, so if you have one you can expect to see that shortly! Thank you so much for your patience during this time of year.
I wanted to post as well that this Friday, the 28th, I'm going to be streaming almost all day (hopefully for around 12 hours total, with minor breaks) and it's going to be a special event! A year-end thank you stream for all my commissioners from 2018! If you've commissioned me at all this year, you can request doodles and sketches during and I'll complete some fun things in-stream for you! I really wanted to do something special to say how much I appreciate everyone who affords me the ability to do art as a way of income. You all me a lot to me!
In addition, anyone who commissioned me this year and stops by the stream, no matter how long, will be entered to win a painted bust in January 2019! What better way to start off the new year than with free art? If you stop by the stream and want to be entered, simply whisper me in stream and mention what your commission was (so I can match you with FA names). I'll enter by FA usernames and do a drawing at the end, and announce the winner through a journal. Since I haven't done this before there may be hiccups but I'm hoping it should go smoothly.
Even if you haven't commissioned me I'd love it if you stopped by! I'll be streaming hopefully starting 12 PST or so on picarto.tv/brewbraid and going for most of the day.

Posted 7 years agoAs a way to wrap up 2018, I decided I wanted to do a huge day dedicated to my commissioners, people who have been all around awesome!
On Friday, December 28th I'll be starting to stream as early as I can (hopefully 12pm PST or thereabouts) and streaming most of the day doing doodles and requests for anyone who has commissioned me this year! PWYW headshot sketches do count as commissions. So if you are one, then you can request all kinds of quick little things during the day that I'll be doing in stream, as a way to say thank you for an awesome year. I'll be going in turns doing things for everyone, I hope I can make something fun for you!
Even if you haven't commissioned me this year, I'd love it if you came by to hang out! <3 I'm thinking I may do a raffle to start off 2019 as well; if you stop by the stream (even for a short bit, and whether you were a commissioner or not) you'll be entered to win something cool for the start of next year! More on that later <3

Delay!
Posted 7 years agoAugh, everything got set back a bit (getting out of the old place) because of that quake; everyone's understandably having trouble with stuff, landlady included. I don't think I can guarantee a stream tomorrow, I may have to be elsewhere during that time; if I can hop on though, I will! I'm sorry for the trouble, hopefully everything'll settle down soon.
Since there's a chance I may miss it, I'll stream on Tuesday this week as well for those of you who want to see work done on your stuff! Same time, 7-11pst, or so!

Earthquake!
Posted 7 years agoSome of you guys may know I live in Alaska, and may have heard about the 7.1m quake today; just wanted to say we're okay! We live away from Anchorage so we weren't in the epicenter but close and it still rocked us really hard. Most of our stuff is still packed so boxes were flung around pretty well but we got out okay and no damage so that's good!

Streaming Schedule Update!
Posted 7 years agoAfter some trial and error I think I have a new schedule figured out for streaming! You can find me online, barring incident, the following days:
Friday late afternoon - wee hours PST (PWYW headshot sketches done in stream)
Sunday & Monday, late afternoon - late night PST (working on Comms/YCHs/Character design or other stuff)
In addition I'll be on working on comms on other days when I can!
I'm going to be moving in the next couple of weeks but we're not sure exactly when since it depends on when repairs are made, so if I can't get on I'll post for a bit. I'm so excited, after this we won't be moving for yeaaaaaaaaars, lord willing, and I can't wait to unpack and get all set up!! After we get moved in and things settle, I plan on doing a big giveaway before the end of the year, so keep an eye open for that, too!
