Commission Queue Status
Posted 6 months agoBeen going through one of my roughest patches of burnout and artblock ever and really has been impairing work. Making this journal to update and say that I've tried to touch base with everyone who asked for a commission and I've put into queue. I know a good amount of people I didn't contact and that's cause their commissions were far out of scope of what I can do right now, or violating some ToS rules. Wanted to let folks know I'm still trying to work on things and haven't forgotten.
Hey we got comm openings

Commission Crunch
Posted a year agoBeen trying to crunch a bunch of commission streams lately. They're sketch commissions so they have a fairly rapid turnaround, and am streaming over on twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/knaveofclubs
Reminder of prices are (per character):
Simple Style
Sketches: $15-20
Sketches+: $20-30
Regular Style
Sketches: $30-35
Sketches+: $40-50
Icons (500px*500px): $30-40
And of course the +$15-25 for pieces of "special interest"
For further details on my usual rules an allowances on commissions, can find it here: https://tinyurl.com/ybd5sgzc

On Dragoneer
Posted a year agoI've known Dragoneer for a long time, probably since 2007, before I was even a furry or had an FA. We originally met over TF2 playing buttmedic to each other on TFP. For years we casually would drift in and out of each other's circles, friendly but not particularly close. I was always surprised about some of the stuff he'd tolerate, especially back when I used to be so vitriolic as Spider and the nasty things I said about Furaffinity. It was probably because it was criticisms over furaffinity but never unfair jabs about him.
Then around 2020, things changed. I was at one of my lowest points. It had been about a year since a drama incident caused me to lose a circle of some of my closest friends, and less than a year since the passing of one of my best friends at the time, Yark. I felt broken, alone, I didn't know who I could turn to or trust anymore, but for some reason we just kind started connecting. Neer also had recently lost one of his best friends too, Glaide, and he was still hurting from it. I guess we really started leaning on each other. We opened up more to each other, sharing more of our passions, interests, ideas about the future. We became really close. I meant as much to him as he meant to me.
Some of the things he said to me before this infection took him, I knew he might not make it, but I didn't want to think that. Even the pain and fear in his voice on our last call together as he told me how much I meant to him. His passing was entirely preventable, if only he wasn't just passed around the medical system like an inconvenient bug to these doctors. He'd still be here if he started treatment a week earlier.
For all the shit he's endured and unfair hands he's been dealt, he's done something special. Not just for me but for the furry fandom in general. He's been an icon, he's made one of the biggest contributions and influences of the furry fandom and giving it one of it's most powerful voices with FA. And I wanted him to know that for all those struggles, he still did that.
It's strange to see how people see his passing as a public figure, mostly knowing him personally. This entire situation, the hurt, and the grieving, it's something that I would certainly have turned to him for but, he won't be there. This journal, it's not really for anyone but myself now. Maybe this is a way to explain why I don't feel like talking to people right now, or maybe it's a way to process my own thoughts and emotions. I love you Neer, I'll forever miss you.

On Adoptables
Posted 2 years agoI really like making characters. Just designing them is so fun, and wouldn't mind parting with the designs. Just a big beef of a thing I generally have with them is I hate how often I part with a design and just never see them again. I really wish there was some rule or something where I could compel people who buy them to, yaknow, ACTUALLY use them. It feels like I just kind of thrown away characters or designs I was really behind when they just vanish into the ether.
You can drop your opinions here if you have any idea of how I could handle adoptables/character sales. I really want to get behind making and possible sharing/selling them off, but also I really wish to see people who get them to actually use them and not collect dust over them. As well as I really wish I could charge more than a bare minimum price (And especially not get DMs/notes that selling them for render prices is 'too expensive'.

Update to uploads
Posted 2 years agoGoing forwards I don't think I'll be uploading completed commissions/giftart unless they're something I personally liked or the client specifically requested I upload. Mostly just cutting down on inbox clutter while keeping my gallery more focused towards my interests.
Commission Opening (Closed)

TOS and link to forms found here: https://tinyurl.com/ybd5sgzc
Examples found here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/43172618/
Trying an experiment this time where I will specifically choose commissions I'll do out of the pool submitted. Trying to tone down the stress and load I get during these full openings (especially since I often end up with way more demand than I can keep up with).
This doesn't impact stream commissions and they'll be resolved the same.

Fatigue
Posted 2 years agoI've kind of lost it, for my interests. Stuff I've been involved with- kinkstuff that is- just I feel nothing towards anymore. Probably gonna end my personal involvement so won't be seeing any more stuff like sizechange or inflation material anymore. Certainly will see these things in commissions people get, and might occasionally see them because of ideas I get that cross over in those areas, but kinkthings for their own sake is probably over.
If that's what you've come for- to see inflation, macro, micro, growth, etc- don't know what to tell you but sorry if I've got nothing more to share. I'm burned out hollow.

Stream Queue Results
Posted 2 years agoMMMM didn't work. The concept turned out to be a failure and looks like I'll have to go back to the old style of "open when stream starts" and try to manage the rush. With occasionally running a cooldown queue if I can't keep up with work
New Stream Commission Queue
Posted 3 years agoGonna try a new thing going forward for streams and making a rotating commission form. When a stream starts I’ll just work down from the top of the list for as many as I can do for that stream. Same rules as usual- same prices, same restrictions, and you have to attend the stream to clear your commission, just you’ll reserve your slots beforehand.
You can use the form here: https://forms.gle/YAXWazW4wmw5ABZc6
Can view the live queue here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet.....it?usp=sharing
This is an experiment for now, gonna see how this works out

On Closed Species
Posted 3 years agoIn short, they're BS.
If anyone ever has a question about what my species I design are, they never a closed species. Not because I'm generous and all but because the entire concept of a closed species is kind of a BS subject and is in no way legally enforceable.
No one can really stop you from lifting a design based on or inspired by something they've done, only really stop you from using their proper terminology (like species name) for it, and possibly setting/lore attached (as long as those things too have proper titles). And even then, to round up a team of lawyers to stop one individual on the internet from calling their fursona by a species name that someone coined...really not a cost effective thing to do. Spend thousands of dollars just so someone has to rename their character species and change their lore? Yeah... The most anyone can do to stop and individual from making a character based off an original species they made is basically use their internet clout and following to harass that individual which really is more of a dick thing to do than the person borrowing the design for personal use.
Commercial use? Another thing altogether. Simply because if you're using someone else's IP (specifically the names, titles, and unique traits/art of a design, not the design concept itself), you can be on the hook for paying royalties for whatever you're earning.
So if it ever comes down to it, no my species are not closed species. I won't say they're "fully open" species either, but feel free to make and design your own characters off of them as long as they aren't for commercial use. If you want to use them for commercial use, better contact me for licensing or file off the names. Oh and use your own art for them. My artwork and commissions are not for commercial use, if you want commercial licensing, that's another thing altogether.
Tbh, I don't know where I was going with this journal. Closed species are fake and more of a courtesy than a rule.

Streaming "Schedule" and Commission info
Posted 3 years agoThis journal will be addressing streams and comission slots.
Most commission slots I open on streams for sketches on Picarto. There are some times I open up for slots off-stream of full color or other art ideas, but I usually take too many slots and it can take months to get through.
So, for a heads up to people to try and get in, since people do show up to my stream I've seen up to 2 hours before I stream, my schedule (if you can call it that) is usually 1-2pm CST on Mondays and Fridays. However, this isn't consistent due to life and health issues. So if I'm not there or start at a different time, it kind of happens. These times are more personal goals and not set in stone.
If my health is good and I've no arm pain, I may add in Wednesday as an extra day in the week.
If I'm suffering from consistent tendon pain in my arm, my queues will be throttled and if it might be over a longer period of time, I'll add a "cooldown" queue so anyone who's gotten something will have to wait in line (average of 2 streams) before jumping in again to give everyone an opportunity for a commission.
---
As for regular commissions, I'm looking to perhaps retool how I do commission slots. Likely limiting them when they open and opening them up on a more consistent schedule. Open for suggestions for how to handle this to be more consistent or not to overload myself for months.
---
As for other streams, I'll sometimes stream on twitch for personal doodles (if I'm feeling up for it) or games. No consistent schedule for these.

Kink-free month
Posted 3 years agoThrough the month of December, gonna be abstaining from doing any commissions under the "special interests" tag for various personal reasons. Any commissions that were already waiting/in queue won't be affected and I'll still be working to turn those around.
Commission openings (Closed)
Posted 3 years agoArt Comments
Posted 3 years agoTo put it simply, comments are the #1 thing I look at for my posts and is something I most appreciate. Don't really pay much attention to favs, retweets (on twitter), or other numbers as much as someone setting some time aside to say something.
That said, there are certain kinds of comments I'm going tired of.
Lately a large part of what I've been doing is "curating" what kind of stuff I post and where, because I know it's a fruitless endeavor to repeat the same "don't do that" to every new person that finds my art, but sometimes people are persistent or say stuff so egregious that I just can't deal with and I'm at the point of blocking people.
Note: If you're someone that's immediately going to question, "Wait, am I a problem" no, you aren't, you never are, because anyone that is that self aware to ask that question is usually self aware and cognizant enough to not transgress in the way that bothers people.
For what is to be noted as generally my unacceptable comments, I'm thinking stuff like:
-overly horny or overly fetishy comments on stuff that does not meet that same energy. Like if a character is just sitting and having a cup of tea, now's not the time to talk about how they'd look great with a giant cock.
-Making roleplay or turning subjects into yourself as the center of attention (well I'm bigger; but what if I was charge; they would look better on the bottom of my paw; etc)
-Comments bringing attention to stuff I do and don't draw or I should draw
REGARDING VORE: Imma say this one last time since I've said it over socials and will say it here and in this format I can be full, open and complete. Do not ask me about vore. Do not talk to me about vore. I don't like the vore community and a lot of their interests. I have vore banned from my commissions and I'll never open them for the public. I don't care if I did them 10 years ago on some alternative account. I don't care if you think my art style or characters would look good for it. It's not happening.
I do sometimes draw some for myself or friends because I've some specific interests among others, but I would never be posting them, and I try to instruct them not to post what they get. That is not attention I want cause it's not related to anything I will be posting or open to the public about.
Short and simple: I don't want to talk about it, don't want to hear about it, don't bring it to my attention, and don't ask about it
P.S.- If you think you're gonna be "FUNNYYY" and post sarcastic remarks on my stuff that's playing exactly like the stuff that makes me upset, I won't care and will still block.
