Without a doubt after reviewing personal statistics, it's a shocking to see exactly how our speed measures up.Our major struggle with commissions or specifically commissioners...is always speed. Regarding how we are way too slow compared to other faster artists with better turn around times. Or smaller queues. This is a vocal majority and obviously stresses us the hell out.

Now after looking at EXACTLY how much we post and the work being done, something doesn't add up. If we're posting damn near every single day, this means all commissions being completed are roughly within 24-48hrs. Not exactly from the day of commissioning but more so the day the commission actually starts. Pen to paper.

For anyone wondering where I have my queue, I use Gitlab in a nice simple .CSV format. I prefer this over Trello, and it's lightweight, and doesn't need to be anything more than a list. For those are not familiar with how I use this queue, there is a written guide here. It's very basic, and takes only a few minutes to read. Here is a copy of that queue, for FA:

This is a total of 7 commissions, which all of them are fullbodies or halfbodies. Normally this is awesome, as I've been getting burnt out on doing so many icons and I do like to have variety. Although I'm still figuring out what my true limits are and where my burnout kicks in. How many icons can I take on per month, or how many fullbodies, etc etc. Overall I think I might limit how many fullbodies I get, or try to balance things out better in the future.
Note: If you are somebody who genuinely is patient, and you don't mind waiting 3-6mo for your halfbody/fullbody commission, then I'm not too worried about it. However, if you are somebody who is impatient (be honest) and you cannot wait even 1 week, before asking me "did you start yet?" or "Where am I in the queue" and "How much longer?" then seriously consider going elsewhere. I don't want this added stress in my life. I don't want to be pushed around and rushed to speed up my process. I'd rather spend more time on a commission I really like and have fun with, than rush and spit something out that I cannot be proud of.
Free NSFW rewards??
As a nice bonus, some of you might have already noticed I'm rolling out NSFW art. Is it straight up porno? No. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I want to contribute in my own ways. For example, if you are a long-time commissioner with me, and have a good record, being nice, patient, and always a pleasure to be around. You will qualify for FREE NSFW edits, or even art depending on my mood. This helps filter out some people who I would rather not associate with, and who do not respect me as an artist. Reward only those who are good to me, and ignore the rest who don't deserve my attention.

Is it truly free? Yes. Legally per paypal and ko-fi's terms, NO content maker, artist, or creative individuals are allowed to profit of adult material of any kind. I am aware tons of other artists get away with it, but the crackdowns are real, and random, and I'd rather not risk this at all. It may work for others and that's cool but again they are not me, and I ask that you respect that. I am not willing to transition to another platform just to make a buck off drawing genitals, or fetishes that reveal too much. Not all of my NSFW will classify as explicit, there's so much debate on what is NSFW or porn, or smut, whatever. I can't wrap my head around it, and I just wanna be able to draw without censoring myself too much. Keep it simple.
I will use appropriate tags, and filters when possible. As you can tell some of the examples I provided are not super risky or explicit, whatever term you wanna use, but I still apply tags just in case some may not want to view this stuff. Same applies to any gore I make btw.
What's Next?
I would like to simply finish the current queue as much as I can (fully is the main goal) before I open up commissions again in November. I don't have any major events planned, since I would like it to be very chill before December hits. I know the holidays are going to be mad crazy and I would like to avoid the stress if I can.

Week 3 and 4 have been AB'd early, and I plan on getting these out there before the end of the month. Don't worry it's not on hold.
Since I didn't expect the auctions to go as fast as they did, I chew through the queue in the meantime, as I always do- I managed to complete roughly 20/30 commissions in about 3 weeks! That's impressive considering most of these are fullbodies, and halfbodies!
At the time of writing there is less than 10 orders left in my queue, and this is the smallest my queue has been in years. This brings me to my next entry...
Commissions and Speed (ETA, TAT)

If you commission me late, then it makes sense I will get to your piece way later on compared to someone else who commissioned earlier. End of September 2025
Goodbye September, this was a horrible and extremely stressful month. It's finally over just in time for Spooky Month. Damn. If you want to catch up on what happened last month, read about it (here.) Otherwise all you need to know is shit was bad. That's it.
Despite all that mess, we do still have some art highlights from the previous month (here.) As always we greatly appreciate any and all commissions, and fantastic behavior!

Spooky Month - Announcements
I'll be using this FA Journal to outline some plans for October 2025. Each header will cover a different topic in non-linear sections, so feel free to skip around!
Commissions
As always the main plan is to continue the queue (public link here) as most of it was already taken care of (yay!) Now only 14 slots were announced for September which you can view that journal (here.)
So what's the plan for October while we are closed for commissions? That's the fun bit. We're going to do Auctions. I'll go into more details when that hits FA before the end of the day. As usual I will have all details up front with instructions and mirrors on Telegram, Mastodon, and Bluesky. So don't worry about that.
Personal
If you've been with us for a while you probably know how little time we truly have. More than 8hrs/day are spent on working though the queue and commissions, like any regular 9-5 full time job. Sometimes more, and this doesn't account for all the back-end or "admin" stuff we do. So- The downer is how often we get asked about why we don't have enough personal art of our own characters. Which the answer is always the same: lack of time.
More time spent on anything that isn't commissions (work) is more income lost. That's just how it goes. We don't have any desire to raise our prices, so this is how it is. Besides why lower quality for a faster output and cheaper prices? Rather output something we are proud of even if it costs more time. Makes sense to me.

I'll soon redo the website (link) to sort of be a more personal directory for our characters, and maybe some fun stuff you wouldn't be able to see anywhere else. This way the other sites remain the same, and I wont need to manage so many at the end of each week.

Let's start with,
"what the hell happened early September, and late August?"
I was being harassed, and pressured by my landlord and threatened with an illegal court order and eviction. On top of medical issues with my heart...on too of moving pains, and other fun stress I'd rather not get into. A lot of badly timed shit. How fun.
I had to rush to open commissions and then immediately close them as now my time was taken up by moving.
As of only a few days ago (at the time of writing) I ended up paying the landlord under the table his demands and illegal fines. Sigh. Without getting into it, right or wrong...straight up the stress wasn't worth it and my health was declining. I took the easy way out so I can continue to live as-is, at least for a little while longer and take time to look for a different place later.
I'm sick and tired of every single year shit keeps happening and I miss out on October my favorite month. I want to celebrate it this year dammit!!
Other than spontaneous medical appointments, it would appear most of that background stress is now gone.
What does this all mean for you? For commissions? In short: We're open, and almost fully operational.
We originally opened up September with 14 slots, and filled 12 of them. At the time of writing, there is 2 slots available and then that's it. I'll close up and work on eveything and prepare for October. Not sure how I'll do it yet, but I don't want to miss it!!
SelfDugGrave was also unavailable for a while for obvious reasons, but he will return to his clockwork routine, and be as available as ever. Just bare in mind he has a really nasty hand injury that is still healing. I won't go into details here, but just know his regular activities that involve hands and fingers are currently restricted. That's all.
Anyways this is the short update for anyone who hasn't been able to follow on Telegram. I originally planned on posting updates to the website but it felt easier to wait for all this to be over and then make a journal post. So here it is.
Thank you everyone for being so patient, I'm excited to get back to art and overall stop being so damn stressed!!!

2025 August Recap

As some of you know (in a previous journal 2025-08-25) we took the entire month of August off to focus on the queue. This for the most part was a success! However there is still that ongoing irl background life stress, that sadly isnt resolved, yet. We don't have any set time or even prediction as to when it will be resolved. This is eating away at our time. However we need to open commissions, and power through it so-

Clarification of Cognitive Commissioning:
Orders that exceed a reasonable time (~30m) will be charged a service fee for my time. To avoid these extra fees please:
1. Tell me you need assistance with commissioning.
2. Have all of your resources ready upon ordering.
Avoid ordering when you are busy, at work, school, do not have time to reply.
Example Commission: "Hello I would like to commission an Icon. Here is my character reference sheet (link.) I would like to add rendering, my budget is $50, so whatever that gets me is fine. Default background is fine. I would like my character to be happy, with their tongue sticking out. My paypal is (email here) I have read your Terms of Service, and agree to it.
If needed, my contact/social is (link.)"
How not to commission:
- Not providing a character reference image (does not have to be a sheet. Text descriptions are okay.)
- Demanding an ETA or TAT (some deadline.)
- Not reading the TOS.
- Commissioning for a friend without proof of consent.
- Rude or any unsolicited behavior. (We uphold the right to refuse service.)
- Be under 18. (No exceptions, ever.)
- Commissioning without an idea. (unless you grant FULL creative freedom.)
- Sharing TMI, which is irrelevant to the commission.
- Not having a valid paypal account.
2025-08-25 Updates

The entire month of August was reserved so we can CLOSE commissions, in order to hyper-focus on commissions, and clear the queue as much as possible. Due to life-stress outside of our control and being pelted from all sides...this is an impossible task.
For now the new plan is to do a a SLOW open for September, with the announcement that we will be extra slow due to ongoing background stress. We cannot afford to stay closed for 2 months straight. We need to continue to work as this is our full-time job and only source of income.
We will not be asking for handouts, all we ask is if you decide to commission us this month, please be patient. We cannot stress this enough that we just really need time to work on things at our on pace. We can't be any faster than what we are at the moment given the current extreme circumstances. That's all.
Example:
"Hi I'd like to commission you this month, (here's my order details) but no rush at all. I read your latest announcement, and I'd like to contribute what I can by commissioning you, and not stress about when it'll be done. Thank you for the opportunity, and hope things get better!"
This is perfect if you decide to go through with it.
The new website, is not currently finished and I do not have the time to seriously focus on it but it should be enough to get you by. Otherwise continue to use Carrd, as they both pretty much get the same idea across just fine.
TL;DR
- Closed commissions for August 2025.
- Emergency life event occurred, slowed us down.
- September will open back up for commissions (see above example quote).
- Website is unfinished. Use Carrd for now.

If you're worried about prices changing or becoming unaffordable, stop. I should be able to charge what I want for the quality I provide, and I will always have a flexible option (which was formally my S&S style which was promptly run out...if you know, you know.) so don't worry about that.
What I'd like to change is how Velvet (my coordinator) handles literally everything, and never gets paid. I really feel confident about this next jump, and I'm excited to redo my rewards, and truly start fostering a community I feel happy with.

I should be able to charge what I want for the quality I provide, and I will always have a flexible option (which was formally my S&S style which was promptly run out...if you know, you know.) so don't worry about that.

Currently for this month I am offering two types of commissions: Icons, and Halfbody. I am not open to accepting Fullbody slots this July, as I'd like to try to have more examples for my halfbody portfolio.
If you want to help me out with the halfbody stuff, I am missing custom backgrounds, and ambiance. Nothing major, but still something I'd like to have to fill out the last bit for my examples. Of course feel free to simply get whatever as any halfbody commission this month would be very helpful!

Please. please I ask for your patience. I can't afford to push myself any further and speed run my art.
I know theres a lot...and I mean a lot of other artists who are way faster than I am. Trust me, it's shoved in my face regularly and it doesn't motivate me. It puts me down. It hurts. I just try to smile through the pain and hurry up to get art out of the way and move on.

Furbooru - Profile and commission updates. I removed eveything to sort of start fresh, cut back the fluff and only leave what's important and direct everyone to my Gitlab repo. Since all of my information is there, and so many hours have went into it, and it's super valuable for anyone who's interested in my work.
Fursona Directory - Same thing. I removed almost all the fluff, kept the basics, and fixed a few broken links. Added a small entry of text to help new wanderers understand where things are. It's basic but it works.
Bluesky - bio changes. Nothing major yet again. Just the description is way shorter now. Might replace the primary link (Fursona Directory) to something else. Gitlab link is way too long, so I might go back and use Carrd. Why I don't use my website? keep reading and you'll see why.
Carrd 1 - I have two Carrd as one of them was originally for testing and I didn't plan on keeping it at all. But as I never took it down, I kinda like reusing it for well, testing. Seeing how some people react to which Carrd is arguably better than the other. So this one works closer to "Linktree" no hidden pages. Straight to the point (notice a pattern yet?) and helps you get to wherever you wanna go. Easy. Also quite colorful, and I personally find this satisfying.
Carrd 2 - This was supposed to be the primary and public one. It has "hidden pages" and slightly more information that's taken directly from Gitlab. It's supposed to be more friendly as a lot of people are more used to viewing eveything on Carrd, but it's far too inconvenient for both of us to constantly come back to update little things. Gitlab is far easier for us both to collaborate and do what we need to do, and all the latest information is there. Still I'll keep this one up, to help with the transition, maybe do something fun here later on? Who knows.
Oh and yes, eveything there was also once again shortened, but some fluff was kept to be friendly and fun.
FA - Mostly my main bio, and the commissions tab, my signature both in my posts, and now journals. Once again, all links are now removed and replaced with Gitlab. Pushing it as the central place to visit for all your information needs. As explained above.
My Website - SelfDugGrave built this as a test, and a possible replacement for Carrd, something we can both manage easily and keep it very DIY and small. Plus we had plans to include a NOW page so anyone who's interested in what we're up to can view that page. Maybe add character lore. This site would essentially be nothing but text and more text. Lots of reading, but not all of it will be in your face so it doesn't scare people away. However because we don't push this site, it's slowly becoming a personal spot and hub. Sure we have some of the basic links there, but I think we'll do something with it eventually. This is also why we do not push the website, as it isn't really a great spot for our commissioning information.
Mastodon - Basic bio and pinned post update. Like the rest, eveything is shorter now.
Telegram - Shorter now, and starting to use the coordination channel a little more, since that one is more interactive and small.

We are approaching 400 followers over on Bluesky, that's kinda neat! About to catch up with my Mastodon count, huh? Really cool!
I really want to start doing run milestones every 100 followers or so, but I haven't yet planned out what exactly I wanna do to celebrate yet. If you have ideas feel free to comment below. I think it would be nice to use FA Journals for some feedback and interactions.

Posted 7 months agoI'm going to use this journal to announce a small update, and discuss the queue. If you're waiting for your commission, or curious about getting one but are worried about the queue, definitely might want to read this one.
First thing is first. Both Velvet and I got sick. Back to back, if anybody knows how a cold works, then you know either everyone in your home gets it at the same time, or it's one after the other. Thankfully you all helped Velvet when he needed it, and the extra medicine we got, also helped me when I got sick. This forced us both to take some time off to rest and heal. Neither of us could work at all.
Let's take a look at April now. Pretty much at the end of March, and start of April, we are both almost fully back to regular health! Yay. So we are both trying to catch up as much as we can.
Speaking of catching up. Looks like where we host the public queue is still down to this day. It originally started having some issues back in mid February, and it appears it still hasn't fully come back yet.
So what do we do about the public queue?
Realistically we keep waiting. If it somehow never comes back then it just doesn't come back. Velvet and I never wanted to host a public queue like Trello because it's way too much extra work, and stress for nothing. Some people like seeing the queue as a waiting list, and it's exciting to see your placement move up, but that's not how we see it or do things.
As a compromise, here is a list of everyone in the queue at the time of writing (in no order.) 20205-04-06:

As far as workings go. Velvet has experimented by creating a branch of the main channel on Telegram to provide updates, and show off some stuff that goes on in the background. The regular chat is also enabled too. So far it hasn't really caught on and we're understanding that Telegram just works a little differently and some people don't want to join a bunch of channels for things like that. We get it. You just want the art and nothing else. We have Bluesky and Mastodon pretty much for exactly that. We do minimal updates there but not to the extent that we do on Telegram and maybe now even FA.
There's a few more things I'd like to bring up but this is already too long, so I'll leave it here for now.

About my OC, Follower
Posted 7 months agoI never really wrote up anything majorly concrete and some ask me frequently why my character looks different in almost every piece....and what exactly it is. So hopefully this journal helps clear things up.
So first things first. What is Follower?
Follower is my interpretation of a "biblically accurate angel " which, In a lot of my original drawings, it's mostly a generic hooded figure with no majorly distinguishing features at all. Void of nothing, some generic fluffy ears, and a goopy tail or tendrils for tails. Not exactly original but it was meant to be ambiguous. At least from 2017 - 2022 (roughly estimating.)
At some point I wanted to do some sort of big reveal, but also experiment with my character as I grew, as an artist. Since I have options based on interpretation, I still went for something fairly ambiguous up until late 2023. This is where I finally developed more of a regular look, and sort of semi-final design. Also dabbled in some alts like using a Vernid base thanks to
LiLaiRa (because I love Vernids)
By the end of 2024, I finally settled on using a bovid/bull/minotaur shape, as the core design based on one of the 4 heads of a cherubim angel. (human, ox, eagle, lion)
Hopefully this answers some questions.
Overall Follower is my interpretation of a angel, particularly a cherubim, and I believe it's fallen so it's sort of struggling to maintain its appearance a lot of the time.
I primarily depict Follower with feathers, usually something iridescent like Pigeon feathers. Sometimes I make it goopy because it's a fun texture I like to play with, and adds to the whole angelic corruption thing .
And as far as gender goes, I'm open to whatever but obviously for myself I choose non-binary as again, this is an it, a thing, a being. It doesn't follow any "regular" rules like here on earth or the moral realm.
This is what's fun for me, and what I like to do for my character, this is not a closed species - If you want to make your own angelic character, go for it. I don't plan on making any sort of open or closed species based on angels. So as far as I'm concerned, you can make your own angels and do whatever. Obviously I only ask that you don't just take my design and call it a day. You may take inspiration of course and reference it, but again please don't just steal it and copy/paste. That's just rude.
Lastly, this goes without saying but seriously, I don't consent to my art or my characters being used for any machine learning, training, or any artifical intelligence in any way shape or form. Period. This is non negotiable.

I don't plan on making any sort of open or closed species based on angels. So as far as I'm concerned, you can make your own angels and do whatever. Obviously I only ask that you don't just take my design and call it a day. You may take inspiration of course and reference it, but again please don't just steal it and copy/paste. That's just rude.
Lastly, this goes without saying but seriously, I don't consent to my art or my characters being used for any machine learning, training, or any artifical intelligence in any way shape or form. Period. This is non negotiable.
Updating FA Gallery
Posted 8 months agoIt's always been a dream to be able to work from home, and making a living being a digital artist. As of September 2024 we achieved this goal. We are entirely funded by our amazing supporters! This means we can finally commit to doing art full-time!!
If you're new here, welcome! If you've been with us for a while, thank you for sticking with us for so long. We would not be able to do what we do without you! Now this is a pretty big post, but I have written this in a way where you can freely jump around as you please. Skim if you like, or focus on the parts you need to reference before commissioning me. Ready?
Like many other digital artists, I offer a "Standard" set of commissions: Icons, Halfbodies, and of course, Fullbodies. Each of these are set at a base price. -- My full commission sheet is, here!!
An icon is set on a 1000x1000 canvas and is commonly used for profile pictures (pfp) or avatars. These are on a square canvas by default...although platforms are slowly getting rid of square icons in favor of circle-icons, so I offer those as well. A free circle-crop with your square icon, upon request.
Some examples of variety are as follows:
- This icon is ambient.
- This icon is connected. (1000x2000)
- This icon (warning: blood) is spectacular.
- This icon has a custom background, and rendering.
- This icon has a prop, with rendering.
- This icon has a lot of accessories.
- This icon has a lot of accessories, and is complex.
Icons focus on a character's face, expressions, and can be depicted from the shoulders up, neck up, or whatever the composition is in the request.
There are some exceptions to icons, but they are rare. Here are some examples.
- This icon displays from the character's upper chest-up.
- This icon (18+) displays from the character's waist-up.

FA Workflow Slow and Functional
Posted 8 months agoFA hasn't changed much, but I don't have my barrings just yet. Might take me a bit, but at least for now all the regular stuff should be pretty functional.
Firstly I'll have to consider if I want to migrate the rest of my gallery here from Weasyl. As for a while now I've intended to only use FA for my Sweetnsimple style and related art. Figured it was a good idea to have a dedicated spot for one particular style I do. Things are changing though.
Next I have to decide on workflow. Commissioning. I can either use the Journal or a regular dedicated Gallery post? This is undecided. I'll have SelfDugGrave to help me out and work through eveything like usual.
For now we will continue to use a public queue as that's working well. Both for us, and you!
We will still use Mastodon and Weasyl as backup galleries, but likely not promote commissioning over there anymore. At least not as the primary focus. After all even split between two people, this is pretty challenging to do 100% manually. Absolutely no automation via Postybirb at all.
Closing this out without much fluff. We're slowly gaining our trackion back here after hitting 400 followers on Mastodon (at the time of writing) so it sort of feels like starting over. I guess it's like that for everyone whenever you shift platforms. So here's to our somewhat new beginning!! ☕

Migrating to FA 2025??
Posted 8 months agoSeems rather sad but as much as I've stayed proud to be a Mastodon artist. I'm noticing a large shift of so many others moving to Bluesky. Even those who have stated they would never leave Mastodon.
Weasyl and SoFurryBeta are no longer viable, and now that I have confirmation the same developers also support FA financially...well I guess that sort of points me all the way back here. Again.
Not sure if I'll bring my entire gallery here with me just yet, but I'll definitely start opening up YCHs here, since that's a little easier to manage.

Posted 11 months agoInstead of trying to re-upload my entire gallery for the 100th time, instead I'm only going to upload personal ads, adopts and auctions, and my Sweet & Simple style only. Regular stuff will be on all the other platforms.
I've only kept FA for crediting purposes for those who stayed. I know with how things have been with so many people moving platform to platform, it's unstable and very annoying. I myself am very tired of trying to wrangle whatever I can and stay on top of it.
Anyways full disclosure, I won't be super active here besides posts. Replies might be slow or non existant unless I make an announcement otherwise.
