"A friend of mine has a young dog (less than 1) and he broke his leg yesterday. He is very mild, mannered and wouldn't hurt a flea, much less the children, cats, and other dogs he plays with, but he's very hyperactive. It's rare to see him laying down.

After coming over to my friends house, I see him in the kennel he sleeps in and he looks sick. As mentioned before, this very usual especially when company comes over. I check his nose, wet and warm. I check his ears, not hot, no temp.

Then I looked at his body, looking for bites and bruises. Nothing... then I lifted his leg and he wollers in pain. After examining the leg... it's obvious that he broke his femur. It cracked and crunched over light touch.

The problem is that my friend doesn't have enough money to pay the vet bill. I can help a little, but I'm in a tight spot too...

I'm watching this Nova special, and it's fantastic. I'm completely amazed. As a dog owner, I already knew that Roo could tell my emotions and that I could pick out what her specific sounds mean. But to see it backed up with scientific studies is awesome.

They have a group of people that they let individually listen to several different barks, and these people could identify anger, anxiousness, playfulness, etc in the barks.

He's made some huge leaps doing the dropped crotch padding (which looks hilarious, btw). After torturing myself trying to do Piston's head, I finally got him to help. So now the head is over half done being padded. :D Got one foot padded. The other is still just a shoe. XD The fur should be getting here tomorrow and I'll probably start on the bodysuit so I can get it done and over with. Wooo~

It was fecking amazing. I waited, prepared, and saved up all year, and then drove 40+ hours from Oregon just to be there. Oh and see family... kinda. XD The new hotel is absolutely gooooorgeous~ And there's no theft and all that shiz. I was sad to see they didn't have a nice big garden court like the old hotel, but that's something I can gladly trade for being able to walk to DollarGeneral!

I met a ton of rad furs, who I can't list because I don't know their FAs and because I'm delirious with what is possibly strep throat. Oh did I forget that?

Yeah friday night I came down with something nasty. Had it the whole weekend and only just got a chance to go to the doctor today. Strep test came back negative, but apparently they have a 20% fail rate, so we're treating it as strep since the antibiotics are free and more tests are too expensive for me to pay for with no insurance. D:

But dammit I had fun in spite of some stupid swollen, nasty tonsils and fever! Loaded up on ibuprofen and said fuck it! XD

I'm already preparing for next year. I just realized that RainFurrest is like... now. o___o Looks like I'll be missing that one. I'd really hoped to add that to my con!list since it's much closer to where I live, but after this con and the doctor there's no way I can afford it. Baw. ;0;

Been a while since I updated. X3 I made it safely to Oregon. And it DOES rain a lot here, just FYI. But apparently I came at a bad time. The weather's turned pretty nice the past week, though we did get a chill today so I'm expecting more rain. I wouldn't mind the rain if it would actually... RAIN. It just kind of drools... Storms are so much cooler.

So I'm gearing up for Campfire Tails, which is Oregon's first and only fursuit convention. It's kind of like a furry Buring Man. XD Everybody goes out to this awesome campsite and sets up their tents. Then you do whatever you want! All the activities are created and run by the people attending the con. So if you want a how-to-draw-furries workshop, go make it! I'm really super stoked. I've been working on refurbishing Sumo for this and MFM. I redid her once, then ripped all the fur off the face and am redoing her again. XD The foamwork was just horrible.

Speaking of MFM... I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED YOU HAVE NO IDEAAAAA! <333 My first convention, and it's VERY dear to my heart. I'm stoked to see the peeps I haven't seen since last year, and show off my improvement with the work I'm doing on Sumo~ -flails- We are going to have to make a 32+ hour road trip there, though... with two dogs and four rats in one tiiiiny car. The horrors that await me... ;_____;

I'll be getting three baby rats Thursday, so I'll try to take some pictures. We found a big male wandering around outside (no worries, he's a hooded so obviously a pet) and managed to lure him out of a bush he was hiding in. After trying to find his owner, we just decided to keep him. :D And now he's getting just a weee bit aggressive because he's been alone for a couple of months, so I'm going to try my hand at introducing some babies to him~ <3
