If you know me, or follow me, you know that I am a long term autoimmune sufferer with several issues... The main one being Lupus. Lupus has been kicking my ass completely. I've been in a perpetual state o autoimmune Hell for months, up to and including horrific scalp psoriasis plaques that feel more like horns than normal scalp skin, cracking skin on my scalp, inflammed joints... You name it. Add in a back, knee, and ankle injury from a bad fall in December that has left me with two bulging disks, torn ligaments, and a destroyed bursa and yeah... I'm in Hell.

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!

The other night was devoted to an ER trip complete with heart attack symptoms and elevated, but stable, Troponin T levels has revealed that Lupus has very likely caused damage to my heart and I need to jump on a biologic that my damned insurance has denied even wth my 10+ year long documented battle with autoimmune diseases. They said they WILL cover it if I come out of pocket and show that it shows success in resolving the immune response that I've been in. Cute right? No? Yeah... Not cute...

So this is me pushing my shit to try and get that biologic covered. Check out the stickers I have listed or HMU for a quick sketch... Something... Thanks in advance for your help on this drama, I'm not one to usually ask for help, let alone beg.

A lot of you know about the passing of Lyric, the Arabian mare Ta'kom and I rescued last January. I haven't been super chatty since then... And then we were hit with the loss of one of my 2023 foals due to a freak accident last week. That has made me even more closed off and dangerously depressed... And just when I think we're on an upswing, I catch wind a couple days ago that one of my greatest mentors and friends lost her battle against severe autoimmune disease - the same type that I suffer from.

I am not ok.

That said, please understand if I'm not responding or doing much of anything aside from projects that speak directly to me. Some do, some don't and that changes daily.

Give your loved ones an extra hug and I love you. Time is a thief and life is fleeting.

There are multiple ways to get in touch with me and, on the off chance I'm off in Outerspace (not literally), there are two people who can get ahold of me within minutes if the issue is emergent (not sure how art can be an emergency, but you get the drift). Those two people are  Takom13 and  DreamMerchant - they can also pass me notes from you on a non-emergent basis ;) That said... I have been very open about the fact that I have a pretty awful short-term memory and tend to flit around like a bit of a hummingbird from one project to another thanks to ADHD, past traumatic brain injuries, a stroke, and autoimmune issues. Please, if you're feeling shoved aside, communicate. I can't fix what I'm not made aware of. I'm a lot of things, but a mind reader isn't one.

On another point... I do not belong to anyone. I am not your monkey and you are not my organ grinder - I will not dance for you. While I LOVE creating art, supporting artists, and sharing what I've created - I am under Z E R O obligation to post the art I create here or anywhere else. This is not an assault on you or representative of how I feel about you, your character, or the art I've done for you. It's representative of me having other obligations and the time spent uploading things and sourcing keywords etc is often spent on those things (fencing repairs, healthcare, kid stuff). I will catch up and upload your stream sketch or YCH or whatever when/if I get a spare minute. I am trying to be better about uploading art. Please understand that this isn't indicative that I feel some kinda way towards you for any reason. You have zero idea what someone's mental health is doing at any given time - so please. Try to remember this before you go making comments and speculations in a 3rd party's inbox.

I love all of you for the support and fellowship you have shown me. Some of you have become my closest and most cherished friends and I look forward to chatting with you each and every time we jump into one another's DMs. It hurts me to think that I have, in some way, failed or left you feeling underappreciated or forgotten. I have been diagnosed with my 3rd round of Covid, and it is a doozy.

Coming on the heels of me being down with Strep AND Influenza A, my body just doesn't have anything left to give at the moment. Needless to say I've been hospitalized twice in the span of a week at this point and am probably going to wind up in there again.

Hi folks,

I regret to inform you that there will be a small delay in receiving your pieces while I try and figure out a new computer/lap top. You see, my 6 year old dropped a 16oz bottle of Dr Pepper on the keyboard and the thing is pretty well toast. The keyboard is effectively shot, as is the mouse. I have a wireless keyboard plugged in and it's about as worthless as the original one - maybe marginally better. The wireless mouse is hit or miss as well. It WILL respond to my tablet and pen, but it's slow and painful at best. Right now I have everyone's files backed up and saved on Google Drive so once I have a new device I'll be able to access everything and get it done.

I ask for you guys to be a bit patient. I promise you that I am working to figure something out as quickly as I can - but you know what they say; when it rains it pours... And apparently it pours Dr Pepper :/

Hey y'all,

So here's the scoop. I need your help. I cannot find the note book I keep all of my commission notes in and I need everyone who is waiting on work from me to message me on Telegram, here on FA, or even on Discord to remind me what it is I owe you. I have established a list based on what knowledge I do have, but friends... my brain isn't what it used to be after the stroke I had back early this past summer and the last thing I want is anyone upset with me.

I'm real easy to get ahold of. Please make sure you can provide me screenshots of our agreement about your commission and proof of payment - not that I don't trust y'all, but we all know they're are people who will take advantage of these situations.

All of this info will be going onto a Trello board system since I highly doubt that will get lost.

Juuuuuust when I needed things to go smoothly so I could net the 25 round rolls of hay I needed in order to get me through the winter, one of my mares (who just so happens to be pregnant), whom I rescued earlier this year from a scary situation and have been rehabbing from poor farrier care, emaciation etc, is suffering from a NASTY hoof infection that has resulted in two huge drainage tracts being opened up in the bottom of her left hind foot. This has apparently been brewing for awhile and with her being laminitic, it's a huge problem. We're treating it carefully, but her antibiotics and medications are NOT cheap and it's looking like the farrier will have to be back out because she is still 3 legged lame even with it actively draining and wrapped. We can no longer purchase penicillin at farm stores and it requires a vet call and prescription which turns it into a $120 ordeal JUST to grab meds that we farmers could easily administer and use on our own. This isn't going to be a political rant, though.

I am offering the following;

Just when things seemed to be coasting a bit better, I manage to find myself in yet another pinch. I managed to fall yesterday evening while carrying a bucket of water up to one of my horses and subsequently broke my right wrist, severely sprained the left, and wound up with 2 stitches in my left knee (thanks to having a crushed limestone driveway, that crap is like razorblades if you fall on it).

So... Yeah... Things are painful. Things are slow. I'm trying to draw and color, but things could be painfully slow (har har) for the next 5 weeks or so until they pull my wrist out of the cast for a recheck. We can all hope that I can graduate to a "soft cast" at that point.

Unfortunately, I cannot afford to take 5 weeks off when I have commissions to get out and new YCHs/commissions I *MUST* sell in order to obtain hay and feed for winter at this point.

And to make things so much more fun, my birthday is on Thursday. So here's to the last few days of being 34 and the beginning of being 35, being tainted by this bull.

Saying I'm depressed is the understatement of the year.

Because some of you can't behave, we now have to have rules.

1.) I will not even attempt to emulate someone else's style. If you want a piece done in a particular artist's style, please contact them.
-- If you're looking for something in say MLP or TLU style, that is different and you will need to understand I will put my own twist on things.

2.) If I sell an erotic YCH or commission with one of my characters in the piece, it is ART. It is not REAL LIFE. You are not buying me or the rights to be "going steady" with me or my characters in any way, shape, or form.
-- Any attempt to go RL will result in you being blocked by me on any and all platforms. Any attempt to circumvent those blocks will result in me contacting law enforcement.

3.) Hyper sexual messages in my DMs, on Telegram, Discord etc will earn you a super quick block. I don't roleplay, and if I did it would be at MY discretion. Just because I am an NSFW artist does not mean I am your source of sexual entertainment or that I'm even remotely interested in being treated as such. Nor will I put up with zoophilia centered comments surrounding my real life animals. Have respect.

3.) Payment is due before I will even begin a basic sketch. There will be no "free samples". You see my gallery, that's example enough.

4.) Requests are R A R E and I prefer to do art trades. That said, do not be offended if I say no. I only trade with artists who I absolutely am obsessed with.

5.) Any lineart I place on my account is not meant to be used as a reference or coloring sheet. If I catch someone using my art in any part, it will be reported and you will be blocked on all platforms.
-- exception; posting art that I have done for you or using reference sheets I've created for people or YCHs they have purchased etc are totally exempt so long as they are used correctly and credit is given.

6.) I am willing to make some changes to YCH pieces - but I will not make massive changes to the body type/shape etc. What you see is generally what you get with few exceptions (always listed in the terms of the auction). If you would like to commission something custom, that can be arranged.

7.) Unless previously arranged, know that any YCH or commission piece is likely to be live streamed as I work on it. If it's a special gift piece or something you want to keep private, please make sure you tell me this in a note when you pay for your piece and send over reference sheets/we discuss the commission. Yelling at me while I'm streaming and you haven't said anything previously is not the appropriate way or time to handle this.

8.) I fully reserve the right to cease work on any and all pieces where the commissioner begins stalking (cyber or otherwise) or making unwelcomed sexual advances etc. In those cases, funds will not be returned and will be donated, at my discretion, to legitimate 501c3 non-profit foundations that provide help for victims of domestic and sexual violence. The pieces will be destroyed or, in the case of YCHs, re-run for sale.

9.) I am not willing to work with the following themes (and there will be no exceptions to this rule);
- Scat
- Water sports (not including cum or squirting within reason)
- Cub/Child/Pedo tones of any kind, including grooming etc
- Heavy gore
- Anything racist, sexist, or abusive towards any ethnic, sexual, or religious group etc

Some of you need to pull a Bart Simpson and write that last sentence over and over and over again on a chalk board until your fingers are raw, bleeding nubbies. Unless we enter into a binding commission contract, we literally owe you nothing. We do not appreciate being harassed. We do not appreciate being poked over and over and over again by people who demand our time, attention, and then our patronage to another page (or pages). If you wind up going from artist to artist and repeatedly harrassing them over every form of communication you can find of theirs, asking about commissions leading from the initially benign and continuing to escalate to the extremely sketchy and inappropriate (even for those of us that adore erotic/NSFW art and are FAR from prudes!) and then never pulling the trigger/paying for services, but then request that we like/follow your art pages and continuing to try and have inappropriate conversations... AND/OR attempt to go RL... You're gonna be blocked. Especially if the hint of non-response isn't taken... Or the hint of being banned/blocked from groups these artists are in... Or or or or or.

Sadly, this journal entry comes from a a personal experience that the entire Hawt Horse Herd has experienced over the past 48 hours or so. We've also been hearing that it reaches far beyond our group with many other equine-centric artists.

It's not that we're snobs or prudes - it's that we literally are being made to feel extremely uncomfortable. No one should ever be made to feel like that. We deserve to feel safe within our communities - especially one like FA and the spawn off satellite groups that have evolved from it. We are not your endless source of sexual entertainment and unless we willingly engage in that kinda chatter, do not come at us like that or continue to provoke us when we have given you every signal that we are unwilling to continue to engage you in conversation.

So... Moral of the story? Don't be a freaking creeper. Treat artists with respect. Be excellent to one another.

First things first; Hello. I am still alive.

I wound up suffering a small stroke/TIA event in June in addition to being in a near constant state of flare that even chemotherapy medication is not touching. They're still trying to figure out what it is that has all of my levels in such a toxic state of upheval, but don't believe the stroke was related. In fact, they believe the stroke was related to an old TBI (traumatic brain injury) I incurred a little over 9 years ago that left me with a massive concussion and small brain bleed. There's a possibility there was a teensy clot and it moved and when it moved it triggered this event since this event is precariously close to where the TBI occured.

I am able to type and think just fine - but when it comes to making my thoughts verbal, things get a little tricky and there's a lot of pauses and fumbling because it's like my mouth just refuses to sync with my brain.

Hand eye coordination is a little rough as well, and then there's the fact the entire left side of my body is still quite weak compared to the right side. Got to love that. At least the weird drooping/swelling has remedied for the most part. It was pretty heinous.

I want to really thank  Dream_Merchant and  Takom13 for being there for me through this insanity. They were the first people I alerted and they have stuck with me through thick and thin. The encouragement and cheerleading to get well and beat this crap has been unreal. There's A LOT more people I need to thank, and I absolutely will as I go along. You guys are the real MVPs, and I don't know if I'd still be walking this planet if it wasn't for all of you.

So yeah... That's what's going on in Calima land. Expect new art as I use it as therapy and much of it will be in the form of finished commissions and gift art and just random doodles as I explore life in this new way and wrangle my hand and eyes back in sync once again.

Right now she's moderately comfortable, but you can tell that walking isn't her favorite thing. She's currently hanging out with my junior mare and they seem to have become fast friends. It warms my heart to see them happy and safe.

What can I say other than it's been a pretty violent ride for little ole me. Some of you may have heard me hacking up my lungs while on stream with Dream, Morrigan, Ta'kom, and Fusilier - and it hasn't gotten too terribly much better. I've been in and out of the hospital, rather begrudingly (I'm an awful patient and extremely restless even if I am extremely kind to those treating me) and they've discovered some rather odd areas in my lungs through imaging. It's believed that they're residual issues left over from my run in with Valley Fever and the scars from when I had severe double pneumonia when hanging in Australia with Dream 16 years ago.

Either way, the crud has kicked my tooch and set my Auto-Immune symptoms into overdrive. I have the shakes pretty severe and I just cannot afford to take the time to take a vacation or respite from life on this farm.

I will not be taking any commissions or offering up any YCHs until my current list is knocked clear out of the park. Y'all have been so kind and patient and you will be rewarded for your wonderfulness. I just ask that you remain patient with me.

I miss and love you all and will try to at least jump on stream and lend my voice while the other lot draw. It's been very depressing not having you all to chill with.

To those who have had the heart to donate to me... Y'all have touched my heart so deeply. I cannot say thank you enough.

The road through life with autoimmune disorders is a very rough and rocky one. It's also an extremely expensive one. For instance, ONE MRI co-pay to keep an eye on the progress of my AS and how badly degenerated my discs are, is $510.

At this point, the sales will have to continue because I have 3 MRIs scheduled which are meant to assess multiple portions of my spine and joints dealing with AS and Psoriatic Arthritis. I have multiple tests that need to be run to see how my kidneys are handling medication load and how Lupus has affected things with my heart (it LOVES TO mess with organs and functions). I'm not asking for a pity party, but I do feel the need to be transparent and it certainly feels good to get things off my chest and be able to talk in a setting where no one is judging me. I think that's party of the beauty of the Furry Community.

That said... I will be running an interesting series with a chance for your characters to interact with mine in a rather unique and... well... sexy way.

My goal, right now, is to be able to pay off at least $1000.00 of my medical bills within the next two weeks, and avoid them going to collections because taking a hit to my credit right now is absolutely not going to help me in any way. It'll only make things worse as I try to navigate through life with a new farm and trying to get through winter when the cost of propane (the source of heat for this house) is ridiculously expensive.
