Rules and notes on art/fanart of my sonas
Posted 2 years agoI just wanted to put this up somewhere prominent to cover my bases; sometimes people want to draw my sonas, and that's really nice of them. It always means a lot to me. I have some things that I am specifically comfortable or not comfortable with being drawn of me or associated with me, though, so please keep them in mind if you do:
Both:
- Please keep all art of my sonas safe for work and not suggestive, and avoid fetish themes. I am extremely uncomfortable with NSFW subjects and do not ever consent to being associated with them.
- Please don't feature any firearms, weapons, gore, or potentially violent themes in art of my sonas. It's extremely important to me that I'm never depicted in this kind of situation.
- The above point is also important to keep in mind if you see me streaming or playing any inherently violent games like Doom. If you enjoy it, that's great, but my sonas and I aren't the in-game character, so please don't draw me in the games' situations or settings. I don't mind it with games that I play pacifist, though.
- Please don't feature any alcohol or drug use in art of my sonas.
- I'd hope that this is obvious, but please don't feature my sonas in art that is hateful or disrespectful to any person or group of people.
- Please don't change the species of my sonas, or make human/gijinka interpretations of them. I've allowed a couple of artists to draw me as an alternate species, but those are commissions that I've specifically agreed on with the artist. <3
- As much of a cuddler as I am, please don't draw me being physically affectionate with someone unless I say that it's okay, and especially don't try to ship me with someone unless I explicitly say that I'm dating them.
-Please don't feature my sonas in meme/"cursed" art; I'm not comfortable being drawn that way. Certain meme things may be okay, but please clear it with me first.
Chameleon:
- Please note that the chameleon is physically male and should always be male; the chest is flat. Don't add a bulge to any clothing, though. >..<
- Feel free to get creative with outfit designs. <3 I love anything feminine or femboy, and have a particular love of short skirts, cropped tops, shiny things, and animal cosplay, but other ideas are always welcome.
- The only exception to the above is please don't draw me in a maid outfit. >..< People have been weirdly pushy about this and it makes me uncomfortable; being a femboy doesn't mean that I want to do that.
- All colours except the eye colour are up to whatever you want. I am a chameleon, after all. <3
- If you want to change any of the markings as part of a colour change, please run it by me first. <3 It's a cool idea, but I have rather bad OCD and some pattern concepts set it off very badly.
- Please do not add hair to the chameleon. I rock the bald reptile look.
- I'd prefer it if you drew me clothed; the unclothed reference is only to show markings.
- Please don't forget the two horns on the nose. <3 They tend to be easily missed.
- My tail is not the size of a large planet. I'm not going to dictate the exact size, but please at least don't try to one-up however big the last artist made it.
Tarantula:
- This sona is a representation of childlike innocence and a way for me to deal with trauma, so please keep that in mind. When considering any themes or situations, I ask that, if you shouldn't do it to a child, please don't do it to the spider.
- Please don't feature me in inflation/deflation/popping-themed artwork. I may be a living pool toy, but that's not my intended purpose.
- Please avoid any references to harming spiders at all. A major inspiration for the tarantula is that it'd need to be protected from the alarming number of people who want to, and I've already had my share of awful comments towards me because of it.
- Please note that the hands are like mittens; there is a thumb on each, but no fingers. Artists rejoice.
- The opisthosoma (which most people would call an abdomen) is about a half to two-thirds the size of the rest of the tarantula. I don't at all mind if you don't make the size exact, but please at least refrain from making it comically large as a joke or anything.
- It's also not a butt. <3 Please don't call it that; it makes me very uncomfortable.
If anything isn't listed here and you're not sure about it, please don't be afraid to ask anywhere you can reach me. <3 The absolute worst that can happen is that I'll thank you for the gesture but say that I'd rather not. Thank you for reading this.
