✶✶✶ I BEAT POKEMON MOON ✶✶✶
Posted 9 years agoI feel so excited and exhilarate right now. I managed to beat this game in seven days.
I always count the end credits as the end of the game even though there's obviously always extra that I'm more than happy to explore.
But this is my very first game that I've ever gotten on time with everyone else. I've grown up always getting pokemon games 6 months or so behind everyone else. So by then the hype is gone and I'm usually the only one left playing it. My very first game was Silver, and it took me about 2 months to beat it. Also it took me about 5 tries to get through the Elite Four.
This game, Seven days and I beat the entire Elite Four in one try. As I don my game title of First Alolan Champion, I feel so much pride. Almost as if I was actually in the game. I really do feel like I've grown with these games and learned. I was also proud of the fact that I maintained the same five pokemon through my ENTIRE game and only actually switched one out once. (I honestly sent the ones I didn't really like to my box immediately.)
So you guys can expect me to doodle up a celebratory picture relatively soon. Going to start it later tonight. You guys will get to see my Dream Team that's been with me the whole day. I'll be doing all 7 of them, even though your team can only hold 6.
(I m a little sad that I didn't get to make my journey with Lucario at all, but it's cool. At least I had my Lycanroc, Decidueye and Kommo-O ❤❤❤ )

Renaissance Faire
Posted 9 years agoSo I had a amazing time yesterday at the faire! It's probably going to become something we do every year now, since I seem to have gotten my roomie hooked on it.
I went as a fairy, and they went as kind of a hobbit this time around. But they want to work on a Troll costume. I've got most of my costume as it is. I just need a bodice and some accessories for my belt.
I think two of my favorite moments where when I got to interact with other fairies. Some of them were kind of snooty, but at one point one came up to me and I gave her some of my pixie dist, which I was carrying around in a salt shaker. Then she gave me one of her snowflakes.
My roomie also got me a woodbaby as a late birthday/early Christmas present. Another fairy was fawning over him. I still don't know what to name him yet. I think I want to call him StarGazer, because his eyes look like they have stars in them.
I also got to meet a unicorn yesterday. She was small. Very small. And her handler/Princess had a little diaper on her too. Can't let that unicorn poop get everywhere now can we? It's worse than glitter.
It's not really every day that you can say a Unicorn booped her nose against you and then nuzzled you. :D
Also, for those of you who have never had Mead before, t's fantastic but very strong. I hadn't even gotten four gulps into my drink and I was feeling it. I was one tipsy fairy for a good two hours there.

+Another Hurricane Update+
Posted 9 years agoSo we're back home safe and sound! We spent the night with a friend and distracted ourselves with bad horror movies and playing with the ferret.
Honestly both of us worried ourselves pretty badly about the state our house would be in when we came back, but we got lucky and it's in good condition. No broken windows. The tree branches fell AROUND the house instead of on it. The swamp rise pretty high, but didn't reach the house like they said it would.
Also there is a slight fear of the storm coming back because there's a secondary Hurricane (Nicole) out in the ocean that is probably going to bat Matthew back towards us, but we'll be staying home if that happens. As nice as this person was for letting us stay with them, all I wanted was to be home.
The bad thing that happened though is that Not only did I lose out on two days of work because of this, but my roomie also lost about $50 in last minute storm preparations and emergency food.
So I would like to remind everyone that my commissions are open and I'l also be working on some YCH's to try and make back those lost wages. Or if you'd just like to donate, I'll still be more than happy to do a piece for you in thanks. Just note me and I'll send you my paypal details.
If you can't donate or commission, I'd really really appreciate if you passed this on.
Thanks for sending us your good vibes! I really appreciate it.

+ Hurricane Update! +
Posted 9 years agoSo uh... things have gotten a bit more interesting. Unfortunately being at work today screwed me hard core and we didn't get the information we needed till it was too late.
There's no water left anywhere. Every place is sold out, including my work. No water, no flashlights, no canned goods, no bread. No battery operated storm radios or fans. No generators.
EVERYONE is panicking over this and running to stores to stock up on all they can.
Which leaves my roomie and I with bottles and jugs of tap water we managed to fill up. I'm also going to be filling up my bath tub so that if the water goes out we'll be able to flush our toilets. (It takes a gallon to flush the damn thing)
Also, there is a possibility that we will have to be mandatory Evacuated tomorrow. Because we live in a mobile home and we also live right on the swamp... which they are predicting is going to rise significantly. So the roomie went with a friend to get sandbags and tried to pile them up behind our house earlier. I'll be going again with the roomie to get more.
In a matter of days, this state has fallen into a state of complete dissaray.
I already told them that tomorrow I can't come into work. If we get evacuated, I need to be home for that. Also because I AM NOT LEAVING MY RABBIT BEHIND. Everyone who thinks that I'm going to leave my little fluffy baby alone durring a storm like that can go fuck themselves. If we go, he's coming with us.
Also I wanted to make a lot of these updates earlier, but I get headaches from the pressure some of these storms bring. So I had the start of the headache at work and nearly fell asleep driving my car home. Therefore when I got home, I was dead to the world. lolwhoops.
Anyway, I wanted to update all of you in case I went missing for a while. This is while. I'm REALLY hoping we don't get evacuated or lose power or water, but we shall see.
Send me your good vibes, guys~

HURRICAINE AHOY, batten down the hatches!
Posted 9 years agoI wanted to give all of you lovelies a heads up. Hurricane Matthew is on its way towards us. We got a bit of rain yesterday but it's supposed to hit us hard tomorrow.
Idk how far inland it will go. Orlando usually just gets rain. But they're evacuating everyone on the coast to safety. Here's to hoping we don't lose power.
Yay hurricane season ;w;

Well this isn't good...
Posted 9 years agoSo I've really been trying lately to cut down on the negativity and honestly keep my problems to myself so that I don't bother anyone with them, bu I kinda feel like I'm about to burst.
So what I'm saying is, this is a vent journal and if you don't want to read something sad/negative/unhappy, go ahead and click out of here. Trust me, I wont be offended.
Let me start with the fact that I have a lot of medical issues. Anxiety, Asthma, and IBS for sure. Also I have to be pretty careful because a whole slew of things seem to run in my family that I don't even want to get into. But the thing is, lately I've been having a new issue that scares me quite badly.
I've been waking up not breathing.
Luckily it's only when I lay on my back, so rolling onto my side fixes the problem. But it's still scary as hell. I was trying to read it up online because I don't have any money or medical insurance to see a doctor with, and it ranges anywhere from Sleep Apnea to Heart Failure.
Honestly I'm trying not to to think about the worse things and I really hope it's something simple like my Asthma acting up worse or even just post nasal drip.
On top of this, it's been kicking my Anxiety into high gear. Part of the reason I have such trouble dealing with this is because I literally can't take the medications for these things. A lot of them I'm allergic too (like when the doctor nearly killed me with asthma meds. Not even exaggerating. Work wanted to send me to the emergency room on the spot. That was fun) OR they make me sick.
I've been trying to do herbal remedies and things, but when you get really low on money, it's hard to get your supplies to do so.
I've also been drinking WAY too much coffee lately. Partially it's because I like the taste, but I also rely on the caffeine WAY too heavily. I've been drinking anywhere from 1/2 a pot to a whole pot of coffee a day. This is highly unhealthy and could lead to crazy things like high blood pressure later in life if I don't stop. So once I run out of the current coffee I have, I might try to switch over to drinking primarily tea instead. It's way healthier and I can incorporate the herbal remedy stuff into it.
It might also make me a lot happier in the long run. I've been having a lot of sadness randomly smacking me in the face lately. A stupid thought will cross my mind like: I have these new, really great friends, but how long will it take them to get bored of me and move on?
And then it all spirals downwards and I feel like I'm going to cry just because I focused on a fleeting thought for too long. I might be because of things that have happened in the past. But at the same time, I really feel like I'm not good enough to be around the people I've been around lately. I feel like I annoy them even though I just really want to talk to them because they're exciting and sweet and fun!
And then there's the whole...relationship thing. I don't even know how to feel about this subject anymore. People look at me funny when they see I'm 26 and I don't have a significant other at all. The only people who seem to be attracted to me are really unhealthy for me. AKA my last ex in particular, but it still applies to others from the past. The people I'm attracted to never want anything to do with me. I'm not pretty enough. I don't draw well enough for them. I have no money. So I have no qualities that they actually like.
So I've tried to semi-dabble in Polyamory. Kinda of..Still really fuzzy on that that word even means anymore because theoretically it SHOULD mean someone who is having full-fledged, equal-value relationships with multiple people, but everyone seems to have turned it into 'you sleep around with whomever you feel like even if you're in a relationship'. I don't even know anymore.
Point being, I've tried to basically get rid of my sexual urges with friends, or people I do actually like as more than a friend. Because in a way my roomie takes care of some of my emotional needs. But then I run into a BIG problem.
Two of the friends I have slept with that I made PERFECTLY CLEAR we were just going to be friends, nothing more (I didn't want a relationship. We're just friends who fuck occasionally, THAT'S ALL) then went and got IMMEDIATELY clingy after we slept together. It makes me uncomfortable in that case because we established from the get-go, no strings attached. But they get all possessive and overly-clingy to the point of sometimes making me feel smothered and...as much as I want someone to be with, I REALLY don't like that.
Like, I know I can get clingy, but this was RIDICULOUS.
At this point in my life I think I can really only handle long distance. I don't have enough time to try and do what these people expect me to do. Which is literally drop everything and all of my friends and go spend all of my time with them doing whatever they want. I don't dig that.
Anyway, that was MOST of what was bothering me. Glad I got that off my chest.
If you actually read through all of that, I commend you and also apologize because I know it was a whole slew of shit. ;w;

Hit in the face with memories
Posted 9 years agoOh man, so I wanted to try and do a 50's themed YCH and I was looking up pictures of Diners and I suddenly came across a single image of THIS place.
Peggy Sue's is somewhere in between Las Vegas, and Ontario, California. When my mom and I lived in Vegas, we would drive down to Cali to visit family or when she would drop me off with my grandma for the summer. And EVERY time we went one way or the other, we'd stop off at Peggy Sue's. The trip itself was 4 hours long, so it was mostly just to stretch our legs and use the bathroom, but we'd always wind up eating there too.
It was the first place I ever had fried pickle spears, and the only place I've ever seen that has them. Everyone else has fried pickle chips and they somehow aren't as good.
Maaaaan I want to go to Peggy Sue's now. The atmosphere is so much fun! They have a outdoor dinosaur park in the back and a fun little souvenir shop.
It's literally just this diner out in the middle of nowhere, and it was ALWAYS busy.

Commissions?
Posted 9 years agoHey, if I opened commissions would any of you guys be interested?
They'd just be flat colors of sketches. There's just, admittedly a lot of things I want to buy and I have a very minimal income at the moment. Gotta have priorities when it's a choice between needing a new phone or getting the roller skates I've always wanted, you know?
And food. Food is always important.
Also if you guys just want to do a PWYW kind of thing, I'm sure I could figure out something like that too.
I'll just have to doodle up some examples I guess.
ALSO also, I do tarot card readings for donations if you're interested in those~

DRAWING
Posted 9 years agoI go to a theme park...all I want to do is sit down and draw. So I whip out my sketchbook and do a couple of crappy speed doodles. The urge subsides.
I go to work. I REALLY want to draw and I just want to go home and sit down and whip out that tablet and---And I'm home, sitting down, watching youtube videos and chatting on skype for hours.

Of Inspirations and Downers
Posted 9 years agoSo I've come to a strange realization as of late, due to some lovely people I've been talking to as well as someone else that I know. In a way as I gave advice to this person, I was also giving advice to myself. Now I'm giving this same advice to you.
I know it's hard to be ignored and to feel like your work isn't good enough because it isn't getting enough views or favorites, or reblogs or likes, or ANY of those things. But that doesn't mean it's bad. Sure you might have the same skill level as other people, but most of the people you see who have all of this talent have had years worth of experience. They've pushed themselves forward and never given up.
Never wish that you were older and more talented, because if you really think about it, that older more talented artist or writer might have been in the same boat as you when they were younger. But they kept going. They pushed and pushed and pushed themselves until they reached the point that they're at today. Not to mention, that doesn't make them perfect. The beauty of art is that it's forever changing. You're forever learning and improving. No one is truly a 'master' at art.
If you feel burnt out, take a break. You're doing this for fun. Never lose sight of that.
Draw or write things you like, and people with like minds will come. Don't worry about the popularity. Don't worry about the number of likes and views you have.
Just do what you love.

Posted 9 years agoNight of the Quartz moon - Second or third week of February
Much as the human moon can sometimes become red or yellow, once a year the moon of Jo'Arka becomes a beautiful, almost crystalline pink. Some say it is because of the light of a pink star radiating for too far away to see managing to shine it's brilliant rays against the beautiful moon. Others say that Helgin and Hylcinth's children turn the moon pink to show their love for their parents, each other, and for the world they have all created together. This is a very important time of year to most Stardragons. Even Shooters tend to take part. It is the one time of year all fighting is put aside. No wars, no raids, only love.
Most importantly, the love is universal. It is not just from one partner in a couple to the next. It's about appreciating the people around you as well as yourself.
Each culture tends to celebrate in a different way, but all celebrate. The skies are carefully paid attention to around this time of year to predict the night the Quartz moon will rise. It has also been noted that fertility rates seem to raise on this night, and many couples trying for a baby will often plan on attempting once the moon rises.
Eaters - Eaters tend to vary based on what region they are in. But for the most part it's a town-wide celebration. Usually the group will get together durring lunch time to eat together, dance, and show their appreciation to everyone around them. However once the sun begins to set, the festivities are put aside so that couples can spend time together. It is customary to watch the Quartz moon rise and to share another year's kiss under the stars. Or for some, it will be their very first kiss. If an eater doesn't have a spouse/partner, they tend to take the night off to just do something that makes them happy. Usually it's something along the lines of having a delicious dinner, bathing in lovely scented waters, and either curling up to do their favorite thing, or spending more time with their family or friends.
Fishers - For the fishers, this is very much a night of music. Whole cities will swim up to the surface of the water to sing their hearts out to the great blue skies. Though they will still not allow boats to cross through their territories, they do ejoy singing for an audience. Therefore, the ships will be allowed to go around them in order to listen to their sweet, almost haunting melodies. Fishers will dance together in couples under the water for sometimes up to 8 hours straight simply to show their love for one another under the bight, gorgeous moonlight. They have also taken to building lanterns with things found on the shore to float on the water above their dances.
Shooters - Most Shooters pretend to hate this holiday on the outside, but on the inside they do adore it. They take the time to pamper their lovers and to allow their lovers to pamper them as well. Most marriages seem to be arranged for their kind just to make things easier, but this is a day (or sometimes days depending on the sentimentality of the shooter) when the couple actually makes an effort to understand each other. Usually when enough effort is put in, they genuinely grow to love each other. For the Shooters, this night is more quiet and intimate. The traditional boxes of chocolates and sweets, flowers, and romantic dinners apply here more than anything else.
Weavers - For the Weavers, the Night of the Quartz moon becomes a week-long love fest. Lots of specific herbs are burned (and sometimes smoked) to fill the celebrating Weavers with the feeling of love. There is good food, lots of music, tons of dancing, hugging, kissing and quite a bit of love-making. Picture the 60's, minus the tye-dye.
Crafters - The Crafter celebration is quite similar to the Weaver celebration in the sense that, it lasts for a full week, and there is quite a lot of emphasis on merry-making and love-making. Rather than herbs, there is quite a lot of alcohol involved. The mood is always bright and cheerful, and admittedly most courting is lost in the fray until the very last day of the festival. There is also a lot of private time taken here for crafters who are coming of age (or even adult crafters) to explore self-love in a very physical way. They take the time to discover their bodies and generally learn to be okay with themselves. It's thought of as quite healthy and a good way for them to grow up knowing that they are wonderful and loved just the way they are, and there is nothing at all wrong with any of their differences.
Robbers - The robbers tend to keep to themselves this time of year. Though they still celebrate, it's usually in the privacy of their own homes, lest they wind up being chased out of a party by others who are more superstitious. However that doesn't mean they don't have fun with it. They decorate their homes with hanging crystals and flower petals. Usually the main dish of the year for them is a hearty but heart-warming stew with herbs that do tend to make them quite a bit more amorous with their lovers. When a Robber has befriended a Stardragon of another race, they can usually be coaxed out to join other celebrations. After all, it is a day when everyone is accepted. (You know, Minus the ones who are more likely to rip one's lungs out than kiss them)
Sweepers - Sweepers adore using this night above all other nights to try and court the partner of their dreams. However, they tend to jump into the fray even if they haven't met their future partner yet. They adorn themselves with strings of jewels, exotic and lovely smelling oils, and gorgeous flashy clothing in order to dance their hearts out. The dance itself is meant to show their intent, whether it be to attract a mate, or to show off their love for themselves. Though some would usually find such a thing cocky, most sweepers realize that in order to love someone else, you have to love yourself first. They dance in whatever way makes them the happiest when they dance for themselves. Not to mention they adore the way the jewels adorning their body glitter in the light. For the most part, it's one big party. However passing travelers have also seen singular Sweepers out in the night dancing with joy and love in their hearts to thank the gods for their creations.
Dashers - The Dasher celebration is quite similar to the Sweeper celebration, however it is a tad longer. When the Dasher tribes become aware of the Quartz moons coming, they prepare a 3 day long celebration. 3 is very much the magic number in this case. There are three large feasts a day, three dances (one on each evening), and three special kisses. When a Dasher chooses to court their lover on these nights, each night the intended will give them a kiss. If the Dasher receives all three kisses, the last being on the night of the Quartz moon, it is say that the gods themselves will bless the union. Each set of three represents the three children of Helgin and Hylcinth. Those that do not wish to court a lover on these nights spend their time showing their friends, neighbors and family how much they love and appreciate them. Between the celebrations, the Dashers also take time for just themselves. They take time to bathe in sacred herbs and clear their bodies and minds with crystal healing. It's a way to refresh and take care of themselves. They not only adorn themselves with many strings of jewels, they also adorn their bodies with many, many flowers.
Couples of mixed races will often celebrate a mix of their two versions of the holidays together in order to compromise and be happy. Or sometimes they will switch off. One year they will celebrate one way, while the next year they will celebrate the other.

Card readings for Donations
Posted 9 years agoIs anyone out there interested in card readings? I have a few decks of oracle cards and I'd love to do some readings for everyone. I do take donations for them rather than asking for a set price.
So if you're interested, here's what to do:
1. Donate here. (The amount you've donated will contribute to how many cards the reading is. It can range anywhere from 1-7 cards)
2. Send me a note with this form filled out:
Your name: (Birth name is preferred but if you REALLY don't like it, give me the name you relate to the most)
Is this a general reading or do you have a life question?: (Keep in mind, these readings aren't the absolute. Things can change based on the actions you take as well as how YOU view the cards meaning)
3. Tell your friends! This is really something I enjoy doing and I want to hone my skills more. So the more the merrier!
Your reading is guaranteed within 24 hours of you sending in your form. I'll upload the picture and the reading itself into my scraps. You can choose to have me put it up without your name in it, or I can put your icon in there to let people know who the reading was for. You'll then be noted the image.
Hope to hear from you all soon.
