2020 is out the door and 2021 will be here before you know it. I haven't really touched my art for quite some time now. I'm hoping I can change that when 2021 rolls around. I drew something recently and I could see how out of practice my art was, so I know I have a bit of a road ahead of me filled with lots of practice before I can even think of doing anything commission related, which I miss doing quite frankly. It's flattering knowing someone likes your art enough to give you money to draw for them.

Anyway. I'm hoping to get back into drawing in 2021. Let's hope I don't screw it up. :)

Needed an excuse to make a new journal entry to push the other one off. Since Turkey day is a few days away for us 'Mericans, which do you like? Ham or turkey? Personally, I love ham, but turkey can be good too -- though only if it's made right..

This year the hubby doesn't want to go through all the prep work to make a turkey, so we're having ham. \o/

Exciting, I know. :P

If you've kept any sort of tabs on my gallery, you might've noticed I haven't uploaded anything in quite some time! I could list the reasons why I haven't drawn in so long, but honestly, I feel it boils down to two factors: My self-esteem when it comes to my art and the fact I've allowed myself to become such a "lazy" artist. I used to joke about that fact, but it's kinda.. grown stale at this point. I'd like to change both, but the one thing I'd really like to change more than anything is the frequency of how often I do draw and upload. I know I'm rather out of practice and I know I could benefit greatly by some tutorials on how to draw certain aspects of my art I think I have challenges with and would like to improve. I also think by watching other tutorials on drawing could benefit as seeing things from a different perspective couldn't hurt, right? Maybe I'd see something or some things I hadn't seen before.

My question for you guys is, do you happen to have any suggestions on videos or tutorials on basic/advanced drawing techniques? Maybe there's an artist you know that does frequent tutorials that you find helpful or the same, but they are a youtuber. I'm happy to take any/all suggestions you guys might have! I'm also open to the suggestions of books, especially if you can find them online for free.

Another thing I'd like to work on is my colouring abilities. I don't colour much at all because I've never liked what I could offer and found whenever I did decide to take the chance of colouring something it really was like rolling the dice; either I liked how it came out or "ruined" a drawing by doing so. Confidence on colouring more is something I could also greatly use!

I'm really hoping that this is more than the start of a hopeful New Year's resolution as I have missed drawing quite a bit and feel I can make this happen, but really want to start from the ground up. I need a fresher and of course LOTS of practice. I'd also like to get back into drawing as I owe a special someone A TON of backlogged commissioned artwork; they've been a total saint with their patience but I've avoided/procrastinated long enough.

Any suggestions you guys have is deeply appreciated. Also, I'd like to thank those of you that have stuck around this long. I really do appreciate it more than you might know. :) Thanks for putting up with this lazy housecat guys!

Designing male characters has always been a unique challenge for me. I'm not talking about drawing them (although that is at times difficult!) but rather creating them as OCs. I find myself uncertain of what to go with and how to go about designing them. It's super easy for me to come up with various female characters, especially giving them features I either like or find super attractive. But males? An absolute mystery. I tend to end up falling for other people's male characters and wanting to make my own (so I can swoon over them all I want and not worry about creeping out the creator of said OC with my admirations) but doing so is just a mystery for me. I feel almost like I'd rather commission someone to design one for me, but that's lazy (and expensive).

I'd like to come up with a few in the foreseeable future as I know many artists who draw males absolutely deliciously and love to see these characters drawn by them.

For now, designing them is a strange enigma...

Does anyone still use this and use it for roleplay? It's been a hot minute since I was last on SL and since then I've been told by friends who still use it that a few of my favourite sims I liked visiting have been closed. I'm getting the itch to wander onto SL again, but I have no idea if it's worth the curiosity or I'm better off not bothering.

Alive and kickin'! Haven't had a lot of drive to draw for awhile now. I blame work, WoW and the fact I'm a lazy horrible procrastinator in general. ;D

I've been busy on WoW lately trying to get exalted reputations on Horde and Alliance so when I'm able to play Battle for Azeroth, I can play all the fancy new allied races. I'm most excited to play Nightborne as they remind me of Drow, and I do love me some drow, mmyasss ~. I might end up race changing my Tauren druid to a Highmountain Tauren because those moose antlers are just too rad.

I still RP (when I have the time!), but mostly on WoW or through Discord. I have my own Discord server too. It's fairly small, but those that are in it are good people and we share dank memes, WoW-related babble, and smut.

And I really don't like what they did with Garona's look and character. At all.

Just been busy with work. :) I snagged myself a jerb at Big Lots earlier in the year and have been steadily working there since. I haven't drawn nearly as much as I'd like, due to spending way too much time on WoW roleplaying. Hope to change that.

As a follow up to my last journal entry, things ended up working themselves out. My husband was able to get his truck towed home via my step-mother's Triple A service. It's still dead, tho. For the moment we'll be relying on public transportation (i.e. bus) and good 'ol walking to get us where we need to go. Luckily my husband is able to get a ride back and forth to work via carpooling with a coworker. As it stands, we're looking to replace 'ol Bertha (RIP) with a used car/truck, but that's something we can't look at until next year.

For the moment I am still taking commissions. The money spent on them will go right towards saving up towards or new (used) vehicle. Or a bus pass. One or the other. For the rest of December, I will continue to offer commissions at a reduced price to encourage more buyers. You can however choose to pay my regular price IF YOU WANT. No pressure, promise!

When it rains, it really does pour. My father passed away last Saturday. I had been anticipating it for awhile but it still came as a shock. As if that wasn't enough, our truck broke down as well, and it couldn't have done so at the worst possible time. My husband was forced to leave it on the Freeway to be towed because we have absolutely NO MONEY until Friday. Right now, all I'm focused on is trying to get it out of whatever yard it's in and into our driveway. Then we can figure out what to do from there. It's not like we have any money to get it repaired, but at least it won't be sitting in a yard collecting fees daily.

I'm asking, BEGGING you guys, if you can spare the money, PLEASE consider commissioning me. I hate the idea of begging anyone, especially family for money, but I don't know what to do right now.

What I WILL draw:
I'm pretty open to kinks and fetishes, even darker ones. But, there are a few I simply WILL NOT do.
What I will NOT draw:
This includes: Scat, heavy watersports, vomiting, heavy mutilation/guro, sexual or violent things with children, other people's characters (without permission), hardcore drug abuse, things that can be considered racist or hateful against a group of people (or person). I also can't draw mecha, buildings, or cars at all.
