So I figured out why I was getting a little burnt out on drawing the comic, and thus slowing up on the upload rate - I've been focusing entirely on one group for too dang long!

There's more than one pack of oddjobs involved in the events at Bladeheim, some of them with much more malicious intent than others - and pre-spelunking seems an excellent moment to cut away to what some of the others have been up to!

Ghargash et al will return to the focus soon, but there's some other familiar faces - some of them friendly and some of them not - to involve in this particular plot arc before things get too manic and intense to do so organically. Watch this space~ :D

Following some recent medical issues that I won't go into the full details of for... well, personal reasons it's become apparent that it's better for me to be at home than out working 40-ish hours a week. As of this coming Sunday, I'll be back to working from home full time.

This means that I shall be more available and able to work on Caves and Critters, Gracie's Fantasy and a return to Commission work!

I won't be re-opening commissions immediately as I still have an overdue queue to finish off - however, it would mean the world to my husband and myself in our efforts to make our lives less stressful if you'd like to consider subscribing to either the Caves and Critters or Kinky Kobold Cave Subscribestars! (Commissions are great and fun and I absolutely will be opening them up again in due time, but even then, the semi-reliable regular income from the subscribestars is much easier to plan expenses and such around.)

And of course, if financial support is something you can't or don't want to offer, then even just throwing links to my content around would be greatly appreciated. I really am looking forward to getting back to regular art-ing, and I'd love to see my creations reaching more eyes and making more people smile. <3

Both will be receiving a more frequent flow of content starting within the next week or so, including a return of the regular bonus content like the monthly character polls, free copies of finished Kinky Kobold Cave content when it is finished, and just general regular updates of my tomfoolery and deviancy.

As you all already know, I went and got a full time job at a hotel around 6 months ago. Things are still going fine with the job itself, but you don't need me to tell you it's affected my productivity across the board on art - both CnC and my other stuff. I've been working primarily morning shifts (7am-3pm), and by the time I get home most days, my ADHD meds are already starting to wear off - and while my booster dose helps, it can only give me focus, not energy, and after an 8 hour shift handling hotel guests and their assortment of bullshit, I'm pretty lacking on the latter lol

I recently got a promotion to Supervisor, and once I'm settled into the new location, I'll be on primarily evening shifts. My hope is that this will result in an increase of my productivity again, because I'll be at home when my meds are at their peak, rather than at work. XP

So with any luck, things SHOULD pick up again soon! I'm very sorry again for the lack of communication and updates and, well... everything... but I've just not had the energy for arts by the time I get home, most days. DX

So, pending background checks and references, I have almost certainly got myself a job! Pretty decent paying one too, and conveniently close to the public transport network. Bosses both seem like good people with good attitudes, so hopefully it'll be gud shit.

I do not expect this to affect the comic's update schedule, as I intend to make it my focus in my free time. It does mean I will be scaling back commission work, as I don't want people to be waiting forever to get their art from me and I don't yet know how much this will affect my available time/energy/etc. I do also intend to continue working on Gracie's Fantasy until it's finished, and I'd rather give what time I have outside of working on CnC over to that, since people are paying to see it finished lol.

Once I have a better idea of how it's going to affect my energy and time, I'll see how things are for opening commissions again.

**CAMEO CONTEST**!

You read that right. Been a while, ain't it? 😁

We have a need for a couple of characters for an upcoming page, and it's far enough off that we have time to gather some cameos for it!

What's a cameo? It means we're gonna borrow your character's appearance for a comic character! Last time we did it was for the boat ride with Ghargash's group, where basically every crew member who wasn't a main cast member was someone's OC!

Rules to follow; details on how to enter will be at the end!

Rules!

First off; characters that have previously featured as Cameos in the comic cannot win again. You *can* enter if you've won before, but it must be a different character. Due to the specific nature of the species required this time around, characters that fit the umbrella of 'Fishkin' (Sharks, Whales, Orcas, Seals, Turtles, any other fish or similar creature that naturally lives in the ocean) can be entered again even if they have won before. (Note that this is still not a guarantee you'll win a slot. They're limited, and we can only pick so many!)

Secondly; The slots are for *Fishkin* cameos - so sharks, other fish, etc etc. Saltwater species, ideally. Whatever species the character is, they need to be one that could believably spend large portions of their time under the sea.

Thirdly; The cameos are speaking roles, but the speech is pre-set. We're using your OC's appearance (and possibly name) only! That means that their established personality as your OC may be entirely different within the CnC-verse.

With all that in mind, if you have a character and would like to enter, then you need only answer the following question to prove your worth! (AKA prove you're not a bot/care at least a little bit about the comic lol)

So, not spoiling anything plot-wise, but with my dear husband and co-writer  mightymightyena's help I think we've just figured out, through a lengthy chat, where the comic is going and how it's all going to end (in a much more concrete way than the very vague details I had down, anyway).

At a rough guess... we have about 5 chapters left until we're done. Maybe a few more, but we'll see exactly.

Which is such a weird thing to process for me. This comic has been part of my life for over a decade now, and it's... well, ending.

Don't get me wrong, with 5 chapters to go there's still gonna be a lot of work to be done, and the comic has at LEAST another few years worth of updates - I'd say three at least - to get through before it's there, but still.

Updated the art for Chap 12 after it became apparent that my original pacing was a million miles off and this is going to be pretty much solely a 'Kharma's Backstory' chapter. Go check it out! I'm pretty happy with it.

Not really sure what good reason there could be for instagram accounts full of pics of kids in swimsuits to have a Patreon following of any kind, let alone one apparently comprised largely of older men. I will continue to update as time goes on, but as Subscribestar is pretty inarguably better for adult content creators *anyway*, I'll probably stick with that move regardless.
