Posted a year agoI'm not dead, but clearly I haven't updated in some time.
I'm not gone, just have other things to focus upon in my life.
Kinda retiring from here lurking, faving from time to time, but probably not posting much anymore.
I've inspired others to enjoy this sort of thing and my roommate has taken it to heart and ran with it.

Posted 5 years agoSo y'all really haven't seen any content from me for some time. I'm still alive n' kicking, but clearly I haven't gotten out much given the whole global shitshow that's been going on. Had some financial challenges, life changes, just a general great big nope in life right now. I'm ok, friends and family are ok, everyone I know is healthy, I just I haven't really been here much.
I can't really say that my interests have changed, I still love a muddy good time, just I haven't had the time really to pursue mud, or commissioning anyone to do more artwork. Of me and my adventures. Time just isn't available lately.
I don't foresee that changing any time soon. If ya message me, don't expect a prompt response it won't happen. I'm pretty much marking my self as not here.
Hope 2020 pulls its head out of its collective ass and makes nice.

Little Updates
Posted 7 years agoHad a bit of an issue with my account, got it fixed so I'm back in action. Seems I never updated my email address back during the big account snafu. Everything is back to normal now though so I'm happy!
I got a new computer!!! Its a spiffy new MacMini that makes my life so much easier (and more easily viewable!) My old mac (late 2k7 iMac) had dire monitor issues, sluggish performance, and was barely functional anymore. It still runs mind you, but its slow. I've relegated it to being a music server hooked to my home theater and stereo emersion system. I love music, so this does the job! The new macmini is connected to a spiffy little 40inch lcd screen, sooooo much better than the 20inch that was built into that old mac. *LOVE*
I've been scouting! Me and Ette got a bit slippery with a bit of exploration that she lead me to, I think she's totally ready for some full on scouting this summer! Deep mud fun for everyone!

New Year, New Friends
Posted 7 years agoHey all, I would like to introduce a new Swampfox Scout!
Her name is Silhouette, but she goes by 'Ette' for short. She's a solidly built anthro earthpony thats sorta a blue-grey tint, with floofy fetlocks, and hooves for feets! Ette is sorta an extension of Sara, (Sara's Girlfriend!) and doesn't persay have a fursona (though she's hooked on ponies, so...) Please welcome her to our little corner of the swamp!
Welcome to the Scouts Ette!

Posted 8 years agoThe weather is shot, no more exploring in this weather, we got 8inches of snow the other day. Me and snow are no. Oh, and Thor is a great movie, go see!
Singin' in the rain
Posted 8 years agoSo, rainy season has begun in earnerst out here with the first run of our fall storms. First storm packed gale force winds (seasonal normal for us, no big deal) and lowland flooding. Its Galoshes and rain jacket weather. The tide zones where I often play, are 1. hunting territories, and 2 extremely flooded and trecherous. 3 cold, cold cold!. Did get out the other day for a good trail hike and found some good run and slide trail mud. Standing slides down a trail. its simple balance surfing, and occasionally wet knees or an accidental cold wet slip on your ass. Just slippy trail mud not more than a half an inch deep, enough to kiss your boots and thats it. No sinky, but certainly wet and slimy! Those dark blue leggings will never be the same sadly

Also, Ponies
Posted 8 years agoSo, I've always waited to catch the pony movies once they've made it to DVD, but this time me and my husband got a chance to go see the new MLP movie. It was very worthwhile, best animated movie I've watched in a LONG time. I am a fan as is, not an extreme fan, but I enjoy the show's and look forward to more. Its really enjoyable! If you have a chance, go see it, support more pony!

Seasonal Inactivity
Posted 8 years agoSummer came, and went with only a few short excursions of the muddy variety. This summer's weather was good but vastly spoiled by the smoke from fires in our surrounding forests and territories north of us here. It unfortunately made living conditions down here very unbreathable. On a good day or two we were out riding our bikes up in some beautiful country taking in the ample trails of the area. That camping trip we were planning got canceled due to that campground being red-flagged and closed due to fires in the area.
We did take a road-trip down to Central Oregon to watch the Eclipse. That was AWESOME. I'd really recommend a watch of one of those, I do believe the next one is in a few years and should be visible for the lower states. The darkness mid-day and seeing the stars come out and the sudden temperature drop was quite an odd experience, It was in the upper 80's one minute then the upper 50's just a few minutes later. that was weird! We were in a zone that was in the high desert yet outside the 'party zones' where thousands of people flocked. We were right on the line though so we saw everthing!. I set us up with a beastly telescope with a solar filter, and some of the approved glasses too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astroscan
The weather has changed temperatures dropped, the smoke cleared, and the rain has returned. Rain is what makes this part of the world so beautiful, rich and green, what makes Washington pretty. It fills our lakes and makes everything rich (and wonderfully muddy during the summer). For that I am thankful.
I'll be around-ish so note me if ya need me.

Summer Mud Fun!
Posted 8 years agoI’ve been a bit quiet this season, there’s finally some good weather and we’ve been out exploring, mostly hiking and walking, a bike ride here and there, and just a little bit of mud this year. Myself my Jacob and Sara all went on a trip down to a place that used to be super muddy back when I was growing up, but found it had been dramatically altered by beavers. No mud to be found, at all sadly. We did find some decent mud on the trip home, but at the time couldn’t deeply explore it, I tested and got in to about my knees, tide was not in our favor for that trip unfortunately I also didn’t have any mud gear on for that bit of the trip (we weren’t expecting mud out there to say the least) (black panties, and black cami-skirt and of course some older knee socks, so it looked swimsuit-ish from a distance.) My friends kept watch for me while I plodded into some of the softest tidal muck I’ve played in in ages. It was Very relaxing, but I didn’t get super messy as tide was on-route in. All in all, we have some plans to return to this place here soonish, maybe this weekend! We might (if all goes well, might have a muddy double date going! Sara's been seein' someone lately!
Always muddy

Devious Plans
Posted 8 years agoSo Sara's got some devious plans for me this summer, and she's been shopping too. Her shopping for me without my knowing is a love hate thing more or less cause she always buys expensive things or stuff that I'd never afford. Sara has a bit of money, and while its cool, gosh.
This round its some super comfortable, super white ballet tights, then for up top she got me this long sleave snap crotch bodysuit. (its basically a leotard, but with easy in/out and easy bathroom access. (awesome) but its got high leg lines, still has a full butt, but it practically shows the tops of the tights while wearing the bodysuit over the tights. A giftcard at the local ballet shop will ensure I get some new leather ballet slippers too for my feetsies. She also got me a two tiered skirt that makes the whole outfit look perfectly fine to be out and about in public in.
Sara has me scheduled for a roadtrip later in the summer and this outfit is for that outing. She's not saying where we're going, only that I'm sure to absolutely love it.
I'm both timid of this, and enthralled.
Sara has some unique tastes

I think the on switch is stuck!
Posted 8 years agoSomepony Please kick a pegasus or something, Turn off the flippin' Snow already!
The 'its just a dusting' is total BS Its just a dusting that is two inches deep now, and still 'dusting' *twitch twitch*
We are already seeing the spring birds, things are starting to bud, the tidal range is starting to become more 'traversable' the sun /should/ be starting to get warm-ish soon-ish Come On already!?! We are selling swimsuits, and camping gear, and have gotten rid of our winter blankets and warm stuff.
Sara and I were at the mall just the other day and she was already spying all this summer stuff, and picking and choosing all sorts of stuff, she also tries to coax me into outlandish outfits like her. No, just no Sara! I know you read these! even if you swear your not a fur, *pbbbbt* ha ha *hugs* only time I'd wear what she was suggesting was if i was out and getting dirty! *wink*
But back to my point. Someone really has to be reminded to turn off the winter switch!
So not going mudding about in the snow, even if that winter-princess ice-skating outfit Sara showed me was pretty cute, its still only a thin nylon lycra long sleve leotard with attached snowflake patterened sheer dance skirt and the tights were epic! they started as teal up top, down to about the thigh, and faded down to white!. The whole ensamble was shiny white with silver and the lightest sky blue and teal, super pretty, but. ha ha, that vs the cold of actual winter, and mud. Nope, I'm not about to become a frozen kitty! No way!
So please if you come across a weather control person, pegasus, or deity of some variety, please tell them to turn off winter, please

Married
Posted 9 years agoSo, getting no more, the deed is done and I got hitched.
The foxy seen in the last sequence of my Muducation series Jacob Fox is the fellow,
We've been together on and off for the last ten years or so, and its been a good ride so far. We take road trips every summer, and been all over the place so far (11 western states checked off the list) He's been my road trip buddy and on a gain off again housemate for the past several years. Its all good with the both of us, and as an extra special bonus, he's also into the Swampfox Scouts just as much as I am! He's found some good places and we share our finds to explore further together later.
You'll surely see more of him on my pages sometime (whenever we can afford it) We did share two buckets full of sloppy gooy cake batter painted like a wedding cake between us to celebrate the momentous event. What a way to start a marriage! It was fun and oh so messy!
Carrie and Jacob!

Getting MARRIED!
Posted 9 years agoSO, theres been this fox in my life for, like forever, and we've been living together for awhile now, and blamo, he pops the question and of course the answer is yes, so woooooooohooooo, theres a party on right now, so I'm getting back to that, yay and oh sorry for not being too active lately, its the weather. its yucky out, cold and not swimsuit weather at all, a 'tit bit nipply' as he likes to say, and its soooo true! well wedding is happening in another few weeks, right now is just the party and now I'm gonna go grab another of those drinks they're buzzyyummy!
I think its over
Posted 9 years agoI think its over, the good warm mudding weather that is. The weather has turned sour, leaves on the trees turning orange, and its a wee bit chilly outside, that and the typical PNW Rain is back it seems to stay until next summer. There will be a few photo updates here and there and a report upcoming detailing some birthday shenanigans a mud run, and some time with friends that is definitely worth reporting in on.

A go-Go
Posted 9 years agoSo, while I'm not entirely swept up in the Go Craze that has drug mostly living-room and game room dwellers out into the wild daylight. I have been involved sorta. I've been doing a lot of driving with Sara, or For Sara while she becomes a Pokè-mom to countless 140-something pokemon out there capturing 7 gyms in the area and wasting nearly 400miles/a tank of gas, in a weekend pokemon hunting road trip. (go Blue Team) Theres totally a Squirtle hiding in the middle of a sewage treatment plant. Seriously, and a gym in the middle of an industrial clean up zone... Really people? and it has a gym leader even!!!! No, just plain no.
So I might be out trolling for pokèmon (driving not the catching) I still use an old slider texting phone that is no smarter than a simple calculator.

Mud Run Outfit
Posted 9 years agoSo I have a recipe for a good mud run outfit!
Sara took me out recently and we participated in a sponsored mud run event and it was awesome!
She set me up with some awesome ultra-dry wicking running tights and a halter back swimsuit. She outfit me with some soccer shin guards as lately i've had ankle and shin issues, and even bought me a pair of shoes and soccer socks too. Not the cheapest outfit, but it worked out well. Oh also had one some rubberized grip yard-work gloves and some arm-warmer lycra elbow guards. We're both noobs for mud-runs even if I have some boggy practice. But this outfit worked out really well, and after a good splash and hose down the outfit looked as if it never saw a bit of mud! Washed out perfectly!
So thats.
Soccer Socks
1 piece swimsuit
Running tights
Soccer shin pads
light weight running shoes
elbow pads, and some
flexible rubberized work gloves

Un-Summer-able
Posted 9 years agoUn-Summer-able, its not a word, but should be! Its that chronic lack of ability to properly summer. Summer is warm, sunny, do-outside-stuff-able! This *points outside* this isn't. This is Spring weather, fall weather, winter but warmer weather. //////rain//////warm-outside-rain////// Its just plain UNSUMMERABLE! (yay, added that word to my dictionary :( ) But no news from me as I haven't even been able to go scouting in this stuff. *bobcattie is grumbly right now, grumbly grumbly Grumbly!*
Reality Check
Posted 9 years agoThis is just a little addendum to the Muducation concept.
Muducation is first and foremost an educational guide, an assistive tool that may, or may not assist you all out there for finding and exploring swamps and marshes and, becoming 'Swampfox Scouts' and that sort of thing. I like to help people, its something I Enjoy, and if I can help just one person, than cool, more, flipping' awesome! Thats what I set out to do with this project, lend a helping hand. I've been 'scouting' for quite a few years now, figured I'd share my information and help people out.
The Swampfox Scouts are a work of fiction, its not an actual thing that exists outside of the adventures of the characters whom I have (and a few friends of mine have) created for this place here. The members are depicted in various muddy situations and circumstances befitting these muddy scouts and their programs.
Other muddy furs have similar topics and trends, and ideas are often shared, and concepts are similar such as the adventures of Penny Marshmouse. from the early days of the web and interactions with the early Furnation service. Its been some time since I was inspired to create the Swampfox Scouts. I believe she created a similar trend with that of the "Mud Scouts" Railride also joined in that topic with actually drawing up various members and more muddy art was brought forth from the muddy world of the various scouts. "Sarra Marr also had dabblings in the muddy relm and was a frequent poster of a similar theme, they continues to create awesome muddy content to a similar theme.
Can your character join the Swampfox Scouts? Yes certainly, by all means they can join, its really very open. This concept of the Swampfox Scouts is sorta an open universe, similar uniforms, outfits, age ranges for various members, and that sort of thing.
I'm not an artist,Thus I don't draw, and you don't want to see my chicken scratch (no offense to you avians out there) but art isn't my thing. I have a few go-to artists that I go to when I need to put thoughts on paper. i write, dabble in stick-figures and thats about it. I like music too, don't play enough with that to post that sort of stuff here. maybe I will someday, don't know really just yet.
I'm not confident enough in my art to even give a try at drawing your character, let alone any of mine. I often, (did go to second life back when my computer could handle it) and render some ideas for art. I even did a series with a good friend back then. It was some of my first work on FA, literally YEARS ago, its pretty dead now.
In Real Life Im a Photographer that often gets out into nature and has a chance to get messy in my job. (awesome really) but by and large I am taking photos of buildings and structures, occasionally people and interactions with aforementioned structures. Its a living. I do so willingly, and get paid for it.
I'm just posting this sort of update as somewhat of a reality check. I'm a real person, have a job, a life outside of FA and the furry relm not everything revolves around this place, as fun as that often would be from time to time.
I appreciate the fans and friends that I have found since joining FA, all your comments and commentary has been very enjoyable, and sometimes even informative and I hope to continue my stay here in such a community, and to continue to provide all of you with Muddy Kitties, foxes, and the continued adventures of our Swampfox Scouts.
Thanks for listening/reading.

Updates
Posted 9 years agoWell furs and not so furs, thats my pile of updates for a little bit, there is of course going to be more photo explorations out there, but no more art for a while (maybe late summer) or so. Had a big budget RL thing pop up sooner than I expected, its all good here so no worries for me, but it does effectively cancel out my arts budget for now ☹️
More information IS coming regarding Muducation and hopefully i can enroll some other swampfox scouts for details on muddy experiences.
There is also still the matter of a certain otter camp counselor lady whom is yet to show her face. Maybe she is just a bit camera shy or something...
Thars all for now from your most explorative Swampfox Scout

Muducation Update
Posted 9 years agoWell, as some of you know I started a big project absoloutely years ago and still have nothing to show for it. I got it arted, I wrote some stuff, and a friend wrote some stuff, but, I just can't seem to finish it. Its really a good rehash of alot of what I've written here and there in various journals and submissions but has some other cautions and relevant information thats mostly useful. I just seem to be going in circles with the project, so I'm gonna post the pictures and see if I can post the text. There's alot of text in the mix so we'll see how that goes.
