Chance Seishinsei
2.) Do you know why you were named that?
Chance – Long before my creator became (or admitted that he was) a furry, he always identified with a dragon character he'd come up with in the fall of 2000, one who couldn't fly, breathe fire, or use magic (like me...huh! ^_^()), but always ended up being fortunate in the strangest ways. That's where I came from, I suppose! (Also, yes, I am self-aware! Being a character is a lot of fun! )
Seishinsei – I was originally part of a story that my creator's high school friends were collectively working on; I was the adoptive brother of his best friend's character, a human girl named Lina Seishinsei, and the last name seemed to fit, so we kept it

First off, to all of you who know me and went to FC, sorry for not being out and about more! x_x I spent a great deal of the con in my room, practicing for the two FC Unleashed performances I was in So yeah, definitely not doing two performances again, I want to spend more time doing actual con things! ^_^()()
To those who saw the show though, I hope you guys enjoyed it! ^_____^ Many thanks to all those who helped me prep for the show, especially fenrisulfr and somniacela, and congratulations to 
lotuswolf1784 and 
ravenwelesa on their proposal and upcoming wedding! And special thanks to 
kyash-tyur for being an epic musician, and helping out with Lotus's group act!
Aside from practice, practice, practice, I got to show off Chance 2.0 for the first time at a con, yaaaay!! (Didn't get to swap expressions much, but hey, more of that at BLFC!)

SD Furs - Chance & Fenrir's Housewarming + Ren Fair 9/12-13!

Chance and Fenrir's Housewarming Party! 9/12 @ 7:00 PM
2000 E. Main St. #30, El Cajon, CA 92021
Hey everyone! Fenrir here, and I'd like to announce a rather quickly made meetup.
A Housewarming party!
That's right, me and Chance have successfully moved in to our apartment, and want to hold a small housewarming party to celebrate us finally getting a new place! We have most of our schtuff set up and ready for guests, including this sick couch, amazing TV, and lots of room for people to come hang out. We got a PS3 and an Xbox 360 set up, so grab your controllers and bring your favorite party games. We also got room for a Wii/ Wii U if you feel like grabbing that sweet piece of Nintendo hardware and bringing it down. Movies are also a possibility, if people wanna sit back and relax. Bring anything you think might be fun to play! Card games, board games, table-top games, go crazy!
Bring a bit of cash too, since we'll all be pitching in to get some pizza from Dominos. It's BYOB; if you feel like getting drunk and passing out overnight, you can do so, but try not to overdo it, since the Renaissance Fair is the next day! If you plan on sleeping over, know it's also BYOS (Bring Your Own Schtuff). We got some air mattresses and such, but couch and floor space is limited. Bare minimum, bring blankets and pillows for yourself!
Parking is on the street only, so try to come early to secure a spot closer to the entrance. We're apartment number 30, right behind the mailboxes at the main entrance, so we're easy to find!
Let's all have a good time to break in our new place, which we have affectionately named Pair 'O Dice (pronounced like Paradise)!

Hi everyone! ^_^
For those of you who are, like me, disappointed with the unfortunate turn of events that has limited the Prancing Skiltaire's available space to the house ONLY, we have a vastly superior alternative in town on this weekend---and the next!!
The Escondido Ren Faire has been a blast every time I've gone, and I'm sure they wouldn't mind some fuzzy faces running around! Me personally though, I'm probably going to have to watch out for any overly zealous knights wanting to slay me... ^_^()()
Anyway! Weather looks to be relatively hot, highs in the upper 80's are average for this weekend, so prepare accordingly, and for the suiters, drink LOTS of water the night before, and bring lots of it to the event!

San Diego Furries - Lake Murray Furry Anthro Outing! 9/6/14

I figure that I should start posting our meetups on FA again, to get the word out there that we really do have something going on every weekend, with few exceptions!
This coming Saturday, it's our usual fun in the sun at the lake! Hopefully this time, it won't rain on our parade like it did last month... @_@
So far, the weather forecast looks good; high of 88 and mostly sunny, so be sure to bring some shade, lots of cold drinks, and some sunscreen. We might go out on the boats this time too, depending on how things go!
Also, sporting equipment is highly encouraged! The giant soccer ball is wonderful, though it doesn't hurt to have variety! So bring your dodge balls, soccer balls, frisbees, and whatever else might be fun. ^_^
We're still looking for a good place for everyone to head to after the lake, so if anyone has any suggestions, please let us know! Our ideal place will have a good variety of food, relatively low prices, and can seat a large number of people comfortably. Something within a short driving distance is also preferred. So if you've got a place in mind, let's hear it! ^_^
And as always, any helpful suggestions, constructive criticisms, interesting ideas, or whatever might benefit the group and make it more fun, speak up! We want to hear from you! XD

San Diego Furries Meetup - Festival of Sail! 8/30/14

I know I haven't posted a journal in some time, and sorry for the short notice, but since nothing else seems to be going on this weekend, I'd like to invite anyone interested to come down to the Festival of Sail that's going on at the Maritime Museum and surrounding area! There are old sailing ships to see, naval reenactments (CANNON BATTLES!), a street fair, beer garden, and even a petting zoo (which would be hilarious if the suiters ended up in there... XD)

Quick life update: I have a job now! Yaaaaay! ^___^ Still don't know if biancatesoro and I will be able to make it to Califur, but we're still hoping! ^_^ We miss you guys from SoCal, and even if we can't make it to the con, we're hoping to come down sometime for a PS or LMFAO!
Anyway, in my off-time I've gotten into playing Star Trek Online (I'm a HUGE Trekkie anyway and should have done this sooner, LOL), and Bianca and I are looking to make a fleet and have some furs join us! Please comment or note me if you're interested!

Sorry I haven't been around on FA much, things have been pretty busy since I moved to Seattle! Thank you everyone who has watched and shouted me, it means a lot! You guys are awesome!
So I was talking with my friend redfeathers the other day, and the topic came up of a list of 10 things I would tell people about life in general. For better or worse, here's my two cents!
1) Be Honest--with yourself, THEN everyone else.
2) Keep things simple, as much as possible, in every facet of your life.
3) Have an open mind. You never know when someone else can open up a new view of the world for you; it might be better than the one you have now.
4) Listen To Your Instincts! They will rarely steer you the wrong way.
5) Have FUN! Don't underestimate the importance of keeping your inner child alive.
6) Know who matters in your life, and who doesn't. Those you know either lift you up, or bring you down; keep the former, let go of the latter.
7) Believe in something greater than yourself. You may be surprised how your life can change when you put stock in it.
8) Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Discretion and sound judgment can save lives. Try to never say anything you'd regret.
9) Money is only a means to an end. Use it wisely; do not let it use you.
10) Life is what you make of it. Attitude is everything; you can live in a trailer and feel like a king, or live in a penthouse and feel like a slave. If you want it to change, make it happen!

Chance and Bianca's GOING-AWAY PARTY! + Long Day (TL;DR)

It's been quite a while since I've posted a journal, but this one covers a couple of topics that stood out.
For starters, today was, well...interesting...
My day began abruptly at 7:30 AM, woken up by a call from a friend of mine who was in truly desperate need of company and comfort, due to her mate (and fiancée) leaving her and her son, and running away to the Midwest in a flurry of insanity and mutual pain. I woke myself up fully, showered, and headed over there, and spent about an hour doing my best to comfort her before we got to IHOP for breakfast.
Right as we're about to leave to go take care of an important errand my friend needed me to give her a ride to, at about 11:00, I get a call from my non-fur roommate, who it turns out was headed to my mechanic friend's shop to have her brakes, rotors and tires replaced...and had one of her tires pop 3 blocks from the shop in question. So we rush up to another part of San Diego County to help her; it turns out she'd tried to put the spare tire on herself, but had put it on backwards... ^_^() After we fixed the spare tire's position, we helped her limp her car to the shop, got it checked in, and took my roommate home.
When I got home, I had to address the extremely important issue of getting my mate biancatesoro out here to San Diego, seeing as (long story short) American Airlines screwed her over by not allowing her on her flights yesterday and today, because they were discriminating heavily against her for having a service dog. (Protip: Don't ever give American Airlines another dime of your money, they don't deserve it. We'll never fly with them again if we can help it.) So we get the ticket worked out over the phone and online, and I head out with my friend again to finally run her errand, at about 2:30 PM.
We manage to reach the office we needed to see at about 3:15, and after waiting in line (and letting in one person ahead of us who was in a rush, to be nice), we get to the front and find out...that the person we'd let go first was the last person they were taking for the day, and our trip there had been in vain...we'll have to go back Monday to settle it.
Exhausted and exasperated, we have a small late lunch at McDonald's, then head back to my friend's house, picking up another friend along the way...and on that second leg of the trip, I find out from my other roommate that T-Mobile wants $200 from me for an “early termination fee”, despite the fact that my contract was up and I had never renewed it (I switched to Sprint afterwards, because T-Mobile no longer offers quality Android phones with physical keyboards...bastards >_<). So after...*GASP*...getting someone useful and courteous on the phone!...that was sorted out, and they dropped the ridiculous charge.
After dropping off my passengers at my first friend's house, I start heading home...only to find out immediately before I was going to leave, that my parents requested my presence at my cousin's house, because my aunt from Utah was in town. So I sigh, and head to my cousin's house in another part of the county (I've put about 80 miles on my car today, without leaving the city), socialize with my extended family for a while, and finally, finally head home. It's almost 10:00 PM at this point, and I'd barely had a moment to breathe since I got out of bed at 7:30 this morning...
And today was supposed to be a quiet, uneventful day where I wake up at noon, clean my room and the house, and get it ready for my mate to be here the next day. Yeah...that didn't happen. ^_^()
>> Since that's probably TL;DR for a lot of people, loooong story short, my day has been literally nonstop from 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM. With the possible exception of some days in Marine Corps boot camp, this has been the most nonstop day of my life ~_~ lol
On a lighter note though! This journal is also the announcement for Chance and Bianca's Going-Away Party!!!11one We're moving to Seattle very shortly after Halloween, so we want to have an awesome get-together with you guys before we do! Here's the scoop:

There was a meetup called FurNow that ran for a few years (2008-2011) in San Diego, before LMFAO came along; that was where I was first welcomed into the fandom, and began becoming more of a part of it, and before the meetup even was called FurNow, there was a trial run get-together to go to Julian back in 2008, which started at Boomers in Kearny Mesa, then at The Cider Mill. There were only maybe a dozen or so of us back then, but it was a lot of fun. Now that our community has grown, I would like to re-do that meetup before Bianca and I go up to Seattle, except in reverse order!
We'll be meeting up at The Cider Mill at noon, wandering around Julian for a while, maybe having lunch at The Miner's Diner, then before we leave, we'll all have some delicious pie at the mouthgasmic Julian Pie Company!
Once we're full of delicious pie, we'll head back to San Diego, to the Boomers in Kearny Mesa, to have a ball playing mini-golf, go-karts, arcade games, and whatever else there is to do there! I'm working on getting clearance from the management to have fursuits there, I'll keep you all posted when I find out what the final word is on that!

Before anything else, I gotta announce, my girlfriend
kandikatkreations is OPEN FOR COMMISSIONS! If you want an awesome, low-cost, high-quality fursuit (or pieces of), cosplay outfits, and whatever else you can think of someone making with a sewing machine or needle, go see her! XD
Once again, time to invade the lake with tons of furs! This time, we've been personally invited by the manager of the boat house to take part in nautical nonsense, so I say let's take him up on his offer! XD
The plan's pretty much the same as usual, have fun at the lake until about 4:30-5:00, then take off to get something to eat!
Now, it was left to a vote whether people wanted to go to Denny's as usual, or try out a new place, @Spacebar (an internet cafe/deli with FREE WIFI), and it looks like the popular vote is @Spacebar, so we'll be heading there instead of Denny's at our usual mealtime!
A note about this and all future meets, though: From now on, unfortunately we must rigidly enforce our policy of no one under 18 attending our meetups without parental permission or parents present. In light of recent events, this has become a necessary step towards maintaining the integrity of our group, and preventing any legal action from happening. I apologize to those of you who are not of age and would like to attend, but because of the events of the weekend before last, we have no choice. x_x
On a lighter note, please bring lots of entertaining stuff to the lake, and if you're coming to @Spacebar, bring your laptops! I hope to see you all there, and let's make this the best LMFAO yet! ^_^

Anime Expo!

So it's been a while since I wrote a journal, but thought I should get with you guys and see who all is going to my favorite convention!
I'll be heading up there on Thursday, June 28th for Day Zero to get my badge and hotel stuff sorted out, and I heard something about a furry gathering for dinner at Denny's after the opening ceremonies, so if I'm free around then, I might be going to that. The info for the Furry Day Zero Dinner can be found HERE. ^_^
Not sure what all is going on for Day One, but Day Two is the awesomesauce Valve Gathering!!! Which of course, I'll be going to as a TF2 Engineer; I highly recommend everyone go to this gathering! I'll be there with fenrisulfr who'll be a Medic, and my non-fur roommate who'll be a Pyro. XD
The Valve Gathering is supposed to happen at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 30th behind the West Hall.
Also, the AX Furry Gathering is happening on Saturday too, at 2:00 PM in the South Hall, hopefully we can all gather there and have an awesome time!
If anybody knows anything else about what's going on at the con, furry-wise or any interesting stuff, please let me know! I'd also like to get a bunch of us together to go to Little Tokyo at some point, before, during or after the con, so we could swarm the place and maybe go to Orochon Ramen... XD

So it's been a while since I wrote a journal, but thought I should get with you guys and see who all is going to my favorite convention!
I'll be heading up there on Thursday, June 28th for Day Zero to get my badge and hotel stuff sorted out, and I heard something about a furry gathering for dinner at Denny's after the opening ceremonies, so if I'm free around then, I might be going to that. The info for the Furry Day Zero Dinner can be found HERE. ^_^
Not sure what all is going on for Day One, but Day Two is the awesomesauce Valve Gathering!!! Which of course, I'll be going to as a TF2 Engineer; I highly recommend everyone go to this gathering! I'll be there with
fenrisulfr who'll be a Medic, and my non-fur roommate who'll be a Pyro. XDThe Valve Gathering is supposed to happen at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 30th behind the West Hall.
Also, the AX Furry Gathering is happening on Saturday too, at 2:00 PM in the South Hall, hopefully we can all gather there and have an awesome time!
If anybody knows anything else about what's going on at the con, furry-wise or any interesting stuff, please let me know! I'd also like to get a bunch of us together to go to Little Tokyo at some point, before, during or after the con, so we could swarm the place and maybe go to Orochon Ramen... XD

The Road to Vex's Funeral

I'm heading up to the Bay Area for
ponybird's funeral on Sunday afternoon (April 1st).
So far,
dizzyorca is confirmed to be riding with me up there; 
seleniacrossfire may be going with me as well, but we're still working out the details. That leaves room for one, possibly two more furs to ride with me. You'll need to have been personally invited by 
sillyserpentine to attend the funeral, per her wishes. You may also need to make your own lodging arrangements, because as of right now I'm not 100% sure what mine will even be.
I'm leaving from San Diego, but I'd be willing to make a detour through most anywhere in southern California to pick you up if you need a ride, and wouldn't mind pitching in for gas money. Night Fury's quick, but until I get her tuned she's only getting around 20 MPG, about 200 miles to the tank.
If you're okay with all of the above, please note me. Let's give Vex a good send-off.

SoCal Furs - Lake Murray Furry Anthro Outing! Feb. 4th

I forgot to make a post-FC journal, but long story short, it was amazing *_* It was great to see everybody there, thanks to you all who hung out with me!

Who needs a ride to FC from San Diego/LA? ^_^ / LMFAO Recap

First off, LMFAO was a blast, thanks to all of you who attended! (I'm making a note here: Huge Success It's hard to overstate my satisfaction!)
There is definitely going to be one next month, especially considering what happened towards the end of the lake portion... When Growly and I were packing up and getting ready to leave--we'd both de-suited already--this 93-year-old lady comes over to us. She'd gotten the word apparently that there were cartoon animals running around the lake, and her daughter (who was in her 50's I'm guessing) had brought her by to see us. I'd gotten a little bit of warning from a couple friends, so Growly and I got back in suit quickly (minus the wings) and greeted her.
It turns out she's suffering from cancer, and has a life expectancy of zero...basically living on borrowed time...so it was very, very moving to us when she complimented our group, and said something along the lines of us being "artists, expressing ourselves through any medium" (please correct me if you were there and remember more closely what she said)...
We told her a little about our group, and that we would be having this meetup monthly, on the first Saturday of the month (this last one was on Sunday because of the PS). So I sincerely hope she will be there for our next meet, which is set for Saturday, February 4th. Hope you all can come down again!
Also, after the old lady and her family left, Growly and I were told not to get out of suit just yet, because a Water Department Lake employee came over in the truck, and at first I'm thinking we were in trouble and they were going to try and shut down our meet...but they ended up asking us for a picture! So we climb in the back of the truck and pose next to the orange light on the top, snap a few photos...and as we're climbing out of the truck bed, the lady who'd told us about the employee had lowered the gate to help us get out--but ended up ripping the gate off its hinges!
So what follows is probably one of the strangest and most hilarious things I can remember at a meet... Two fursuiters and several furries pushing, kicking and wedging a truck gate back into place (which we succeeded in doing, with much cheering afterward ). ^_^
So yeah, good times! XD
But on to the next matter at hand: Who needs a ride to FC? I'll be leaving San Diego sometime Wednesday before noon (hopefully), and if you'd like to tag along, all I ask is that you help pitch in for gas. ^_^ I'm going to try and pack light so that there's room in Night Fury's trunk to put a bunch of stuff in. XD
So please note me if you need a ride, or text/call me if you know my number! I'll try and check the comments on here too. Hope to see you at FC, whoever's going, and take care everyone! >^.=.^<
