I am taking 10 BADGE PREORDERS FOR FWA. Taking them now so I can pace myself between now and FWA. :3
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE ATTENDING FWA TO GET A BADGE. HOWEVER, ONLY VIDEO GAME-THEMED BADGES ARE OPEN AT THIS TIME.
Badges will be of your character of choice dressed as a video game character of your choice.
Price for these badges are $45.00 (plus $6 S&H fee for those who cannot do con pickup).

Highly complex props (like portal guns, guns in general, extremely elaborate weapons/props, etc) will be an extra $10-15, depending on size/complexity.
Before anyone asks, I will not hold any slots open. These are on a first come first served basis. If you don't have the money now, you're welcome to nab a slot at FWA or when I open again.

Posted 9 years agoFor those who aren't aware yet, I will be taking a hiatus on any and all commission openings until February 2017 for a much-needed personal art break. If I don't get this art break to focus on personal projects for me, I will go insane, haha.
I'm so grateful to those of you who have expressed interest in the past few weeks regarding commissions, and I'm super bummed to have to turn you down and tell you to wait 'til February to get in my queue. I'm especially grateful to those of you who have told me the wait 'til February will be worth it and that you'll be the first in line when I do open. :'3
In the meantime, be on the lookout for YCH openings for some holiday-themed YCH pieces I've wanted to do for years but never got to due to my commission queues taking priority. Also be on the lookout for more print designs and buttons/stickers/charms that will be available at 2017 cons BUT will be available for preorder at a discounted price to those following this account and any of my social media pages. :3

BLFC, DCC, and Commission Status! <3

BLFC was a blast! A bit stressful, as I was working a good chunk of the time (in the den and outside of den hours), but still had fun when I was able to. Much drinking and many stories to add to my collection.
What shocked me most was having to close commissions within the FIRST TWO HOURS of the den being open! That has...NEVER happened, guys! Thank you SO much for enjoying my artwork so much that you all piled in and cleaned me out of commission slots in record time. I was hoping to take more, but due to my current queue, I closed early so that I wouldn't be overwhelmed by BLFC commissions on top of the commissions I still owe so many people (you know who you are, and once more you have my eternal gratitude for your patience and understanding and trusting that I will get to it as soon as I'm able). More on that in a sec--
DCC
DCC (for those not in CO, this stands for Denver Comic Con) is FOUR SHORT WEEKS AWAY! AHHHH! @__@ This con season is just flying by so quickly, and I'll be behind a table for three days once more in the blink of an eye! The plan for DCC, this year, is of course a new set of dino/prehistoric creature prints to add to my Prehistorable line, per my yearly DCC tradition that started two years ago! Also on the menu is a new set of animation creatures to add to the Animenagerie line of prints (no definite creatures as of yet except for Haku fom Spirited Away). Ten prints in four weeks...can I do it?! ....hopefully! XD
Commission Status
As I had mentioned earlier, I closed up shop early at BLFC to avoid getting another backlog of commissions to further delay cleaning out my queue. My goal between now and mid-July is to have that completely cleaned out, at which point I will open one last time for RMFC preorder badges. When I say "one last time," I do not mean "forever," but I DO need to take a break from the ever-looming cloud of commissions that always reminds me that it comes first whenever I'm inspired to work on personal projects. Due to some life events, my personal queue has been severely put on hold, for over a year now, and if I don't get a break to work on said personal projects, I very well may go insane. Don't worry, said personal projects will be fun for you guys, too: new badge styles, many more prints, fun fursuit/cosplay showcases...and dare I say a COMIC?! 83

All badges will be completed for BLFC pickup at my dealer table; if you are not attending BLFC, shipping costs will apply, and your badge will be completed shortly after the con (mid to late May), unless I happen to be ahead of schedule in the following weeks before the con.

So COAF was actually not bad at all for its first year! Very successful con. First day was a little slow in sales and I was worried about breaking even, but day 2 exploded in sales and I broke even, making Sunday an all-profits day! ...except I'm still a couple hundred dollars in the red thanks to business expenses, but hopefully that'll remedy itself as I sell at more cons through the year.

I was selected to be in the Artist Alley...it's my first time selling at an anime con, yay! I'm hoping to finish six new prints as well as some new button designs in time for the con. Also, I'll have stickers and charms, which is my first time offering those options! I just hope the attendees find my work worth their while! ...and money. X3
As it stands, I'm slowly but surely clearing out my commission queue from 2015. Only about six to go! Unfortunately, I have quite the queue for 2016 already due to a fundraiser I ran for a friend, so I won't be opening for commissions anytime soon. On top of that, I really need to get through the work for COAF, which is 14 days away, in order to make my booth there worthwhile. As a result, commissions are on a two-week hiatus.
PER MY TOS, IF YOU CANNOT WAIT THIS TWO-WEEK TIME PERIOD, FULL REFUNDS WILL BE MADE IF YOU REQUEST THEM. I have no issue refunding customers who do not want to wait; I fully understand wanting to spend the money elsewhere in the meantime. I am fully aware of my slow turnaround rate due to this being a hobby business and nothing more for me, so please message me if you need to cancel and be refunded.

Due to the nature of chemotherapy, she will be unable to work for four to five months. As you can imagine, that puts a serious damper on her financial situation.
I'm doing my part to help her out by offering sketch commissions that I will work on between actual commissions to help get her some help.
This has been an emotional ride for all involved thus far, myself included, and it has only just begun. So, I will be offering little sketch cards featuring individual emotions.

Posted 10 years agoAs of last night, I've been accepted to be a dealer in Colorado Anime Fest's first convention ever this coming February 12-14. Now I really need to hunker down and work on several anime-, cartoon-, and video game-themed prints I've been meaning to do for a long time now!
On the list currently are the following:
- POKEMON POKEMON POKEMON...DUH. xD
- Attack on Titan (MATTHEW MERCER IS A GUEST AT THE CON OMG I'M SO HAPPY I COULD JUST SHIT)
- Final Fantasy (most likely 7 characters)
- Legend of Zelda
- Star Wars (not anime, I know, but goddamMIT I MUST RAISE TAUNTAUN AWARENESS)
- Steven Universe
- My remaining stock of MLP:FiM prints XD
- Sword Art Online
- Deadman Wonderland (probably my favorite "modern" anime right after AoT)
- Full Metal Alchemist
...okay, so I'm a bit old school and still getting back into the swing of things by watching more "modern" anime. XD I'm a bit behind 'cuz life gets in the way, but I'm working on it!
If folks have suggestions for anime that are good to watch, lemme know! On my list to watch are Parasyte, Norigami, Blue Exorcist, Black Butler...in general, I like the more dark/Hell-related animes, as you can tell. Folks have also told me to check out Soul Eater (watched the first three episodes before I got distracted XD), Fairy Tail (wasn't TOOO impressed with this one, but given it has such a large following, I'm gonna guess it's just one of those that takes a few episodes to get into), Free!, Kill la Kill...
Lemme know what you like, folks! Please no super goofy over-the-top or high school anime titles. I'm old now, so I require a bit more "substance" with my anime...and by substance, I mean dark themes and things dying. XD

Posted 10 years agoSome friends are having their wedding this Saturday, October 24th, and I promised them a free art piece as a gift. They want it available at the reception, so I have exactly five days to finish a detailed 16x20 of them and their two dogs.

Closing Up Shop For Good.
Posted 10 years agoJust an FYI, once I get through my current commission queue, I will be closing up shop indefinitely.
I will no longer take commissions, and if I do, it will be a VERY limited number of pre-con orders and at-con orders to help me cover con expenses.
I will spend all of 2016 as a prints-only vendor. If my endeavors as a prints-only artist fail to bring me any noticeable success, I will be closing up my art business for good at the close of 2016.

Status Updates, and FOLDERS OMG YAY.
Posted 10 years agoOkay...so it's kind of funny how whenever I post a badge somewhere, I get about five or six inquiries flooding in asking about the status of orders. While I'm happy to give an update, I felt it'd be easier to point you all to my Trello:

I keep this thing more up-to-date than anything, and it shows where everyone stands. I basically do each piece in order (from top to bottom) in each list, and address each list in order (from left to right). So, you'll notice that, if you paid for something already, you get priority. If you have a freebie, whether from a raffle or because I offered, you unfortunately get put behind the folks who paid (for what I hope are obvious reasons).
I hope that helps answer any questions for folks! I'll make my usual statement that I work a 40-hour job, so finding time to work on art is limited to evenings and weekends, assuming I don't have to clean my house/attend events/address emergencies.
Not to mention I'm getting hitched this Friday. X3 The "wedding" (just a party, no ceremony) is going to be in November, but there's a lot to plan for even that. Not that I plan on still having the current items in my queue until Thanksgiving, but just know that things will happen slowly but surely.
Per usual, if you don't want to wait on me finding the time to finish your piece, you're more than welcome to request a refund. In other news, how about dem folders, eh?! I'm so happy FA finally implemented a folder system. Being able to organize my gallery really helps my OCD. XD~~~

I keep this thing more up-to-date than anything, and it shows where everyone stands. I basically do each piece in order (from top to bottom) in each list, and address each list in order (from left to right). So, you'll notice that, if you paid for something already, you get priority. If you have a freebie, whether from a raffle or because I offered, you unfortunately get put behind the folks who paid (for what I hope are obvious reasons).
I hope that helps answer any questions for folks! I'll make my usual statement that I work a 40-hour job, so finding time to work on art is limited to evenings and weekends, assuming I don't have to clean my house/attend events/address emergencies.
Not to mention I'm getting hitched this Friday. X3 The "wedding" (just a party, no ceremony) is going to be in November, but there's a lot to plan for even that. Not that I plan on still having the current items in my queue until Thanksgiving, but just know that things will happen slowly but surely.
