As a reminder these paintings will be started next Monday, November 3rd. The invoices must be paid in full by Sunday please. Expect 3 weeks turn around, with exception to perhaps slot #4, which might go into week 4 since I work on these in order.
Also: Mom's surgery went well! While we got there at at 11am, she ended up staying and I didn't get home till 8. (We had initially been led to believe she would be coming home same day.) I am heading back out to get her this morning, so replies will be slow until I return this afternoon. Slots are first come first served, so I will go by time stamps if need be :3 And this will not be my last sale so ofc ^^ Thanks!

lmao whoops /flash moved to WEDNESDAY THE 29TH
Posted a week agoNot my adhd riddled ass forgetting to open the flash sale yesterday
So like the biggest reason was I was out the door at 8am for errands/fun October things, and when I got home at 11 I just sorta collapsed into bed, put on yugioh reruns and passed out.
Woke up at 9am this morning and went from =w= to OnO when I realized I never got the sale open. My bad ya'll, it sure was fun yesterday though, we did the Haunted hayride with new people and that made it so much more fun!
Since mom's surgery is tomorrow (and we STILL don't know what TIME) I'm gunna open the sale Wed and just keep an eye on things, however the same thing of 'not starting the paintings until next Monday' will still apply. So I guess that works better, shorter wait time and all that!
Sorry for the forgetfulness, but will see you Wednesday if anyone is interested in a slot! Thank you <333

Just my usual updating for across the board. I'll start with the time off next week due to a few factors.
I'll be away from Tuesday the 28th to Saturday Nov 1st. My mom's having knee surgery on Tues and I'm gunna be her primary caregiver. (Ah...awful as this sounds, with all the horrible health issues and accidents my Dad used to have, this scheduled, routine surgery sounds nice and easy for both of us, we've agreed. Still, I want to be available for her because she doesn't know when to quit and I could see her trying to do shit she shouldn't. Plus, she's one of my best friends <3)
While I'll be around until Tuesday, I'm lumping her care and then my anniversary on Halloween (yay!) so I can look after her AND enjoy some time with my girlfriend. I'll be back to my normal schedule by Nov 3rd, unless something strange happens which I will update ya'll on. Since I don't take off for thanksgiving, next time off will be my usual 2 weeks in December.
I will, however, be holding a flash sale for paintings starting Sunday the 26th, prolly going live 12pm est. Limited slots. I will begin the paintings November 3rd. The sale will go from Sunday to Tuesday--or until slots fill :3 I'll mention this in the journal for them as well about the wait time, as I always wanna be transparent with wait times for my prices.
Commissions will be opening in November but likely not till mid November to give me time to finish some back log, and get the paintings started. If I had to pick a number out of my hat, I'd like to say expect them to open November 14th, but as always check my profile for the accurate info--even if it says closed it means I haven't decided yet.
A small reminder, prices will be going up starting January. For some, like sketches, it won't be by a lot. For paintings and the like, it will be more of an increase. Thank you to all who commission me as always, my part timer has cut more hours and I think next year I'll have to drop that job. Getting to do art as my full time, biggest job is honestly a huge treat. Getting awesome peeps as clients is frosting on top <3

My usual slapdash way of keeping ya'll update sooo leess goo!
-Commissions are closed for Sept. The queue be long and loaded up so as of right now I do not anticipate October slots opening until mid month. I'd love to say earlier but right now I can't until I chip away more on the list.
-As always, check my fa page in October which will update once I see a good date to look for new projects.
-Outstanding commissions are caught up with exception to two, one from June and one from August--you know who you are :3 so if anyone did NOT get their finished commission via discord or gmail PLEASEE speak up! cause my excel sheet says I'm all caught up with waiting peeps :3
-I would love to do a Halloween NF YCH next month. ...just need to get some actual ideas down on paper first >>; If anyone has any suggestions on theme/posing that's Halloween based, hit me up bc my well runneth dry. Open to sfw and nsfw ;)
Which goes into my next point-- I am starting to feel burn out. (Sounds counterintuitive but ychs are fun and help me relax more than the average commission.) Not surprising that I am, but not enjoyable. I'm looking into a short vacation at the END of October which will get me through to my Xmas holiday. My mom's having major surgery at the end of Oct so if I can like...bogo some time off to take care of her and not stress over art, I'd like to do that. I remember in August 2023 and Feb 2024 I hit the wall HARD both times so bad and I'm trying to avoid all that nonsense.
I'd like to get what I can done though, especially my current big project which shall remain a mystery until posting time >3 but im so eager to share with yall.
aaa is that it? NO it is not that's right! I'm slowly getting back into making traditional arts! Most of my supplies survived the dry spell, with exception to my knock off copic/alcohol markers. (No surprise, they were from high school & got me through college. So they hadn't been touched since we moved in '17.) My watercolors/gouche are fine, as are my colored pencils. (Thank god for the microwave trick of saving col pencils.) We used to have an awesome art store that let you test markers on your own paper you brought in, but it closed over covid. (Also holy shit there are masking fluid PENS now my flabbers were gasted I was so excited.)
If you are reading this and you use alcohol/copic markers, whats your favorite brand? I'm looking at mid tier quality mostly, but will consider higher if the cost is worth it and they impress. (I have a small supply of acrylic markers as well, so I'm good there!)

Since I still have some commission slots left for this month, there are two higher priced tiers that come with digital art if anyone is interested :3 I typically sell my traditional pieces at fairs/fb and the like, but since this one is everyone’s favorite ‘useless reptile’ I thought I’d like to find this piece a home through here. Usual ToS and commission rules apply for those! The painting is done in mixed media, namely watercolors, ink, and acrylics.
The painting will not come in a frame, but it’s recommended it’s placed in one or mounted on mat board. I also will not roll it, as I have had more success with flat shipping. Also, please do not place this art anywhere that gets direct sunlight for a long time, as this can make the piece fade over time! This piece is 1 of 1. <3

Posted 2 months agoHappy Friday!! September is hereee. Halloween starts September 1st in this Cryptid's forest and only ends mid November. In my childhood my mom would go around and turn around every pumpkin to be 'Fall' themed and not 'Spooky' themed. Last count that was about 150 pumpkins lmao. Well anyway! Busy few months coming up. My mom has a knee surgery end of October and I'll be her caretaker until she's back up and running. For now, I don't plan to take a break except when I take my and my girlfriend's anniversary off, being October 31st. My usual 2-3 weeks in December will be around Christmas. So opening quite a few slots this month, so hit me up!
If you got a commission last month, you can get another this month. If you have a commissions in the works, while you are welcome to get another project going, I understand those who would prefer to wait until I'm done with their current one. Just wanted to put it out there though :)
Note: I now accept payments through Stripe! If you are an international client this is a recommended process especially if your country has issues with Paypal. It also costs much less in fees.

August Commissions are Closed 👌🤗
Posted 3 months agoI thought I was doing good and then I deleted this half-completed journal like 4x on accident. So uh! Things Have Certainly Been A'Happening. Last Friday I was gone for the evening, came home incredibly late/in pain and just kinda saw to the animals and flopped into bed. Woke up the next morning way too early with a strange feeling and discovered my 13 yr old rabbit Thor had passed in his sleep. Was it a surprise? Hell no. Lil dude's life expectancy was 6-9 and he was active/chipper up to the end. He was literally normal when I got home at midnight and checked on him. Did it still hurt? 100%. I mean, after over a decade of him living with us it's a huge shift in routine and mood. I was home alone so my Saturday was spent digging a hole and just wandering around the house like a ghost.
All this to say... I did what I so often do with Grief, and threw myself into Arts when Monday hit because it was the best way for my brain to quiet down for a while. Due to this, I've gotten my To Do list in a much better place than I imagined. Not really the plan, but as they say, lemonades from lemons and such. So for August, more slots are open. (I honestly planned on doing 2 at most.) Terms of Service has also been updated and made a bit easier to read. I will be around as best as I am able, as I'm starting to hit my wall. YCHs are still on track for projected timeline as well, I believe I've only got 2 of those left.

Posted 3 months agoMy family always uses that Hitchcock term when changing the subject randomly haha. Eh this is less random though and more just I needed a quick ass title for an equally quick journal update!
1. Concert was absolutely 100% worth it, so amazing. My god I love the killers, this was a huge bucket list dream for me I got to cross off.
2. holy hell I am NOT made for that life though. The venue was sold out at 15k people and I am a quiet cryptid who hangs out in the woods or sleeps on a dock by a secluded lake somewhere.
3. So, still recovering a bit. Don't regret it though. But apologies if replies for this week are slower than usual bc I can't string two thoughts together. Feeling totally fine to sit and make The ahhhts though!
4. YCHs will begun to be completed this week and likely into the next 2. Poke me if it goes past week #3 (so if you do not have your ych by AUGUST 22nd PLEASE lemme know but they should be done by then!)

I have a killers concert on Aug 2nd and I'm SO incredibly hyped!! ....but also need funds for such a rare treat, at least the tickets are bought lol. Due to last months flash sale, upcoming vacation in 2 weeks and my own battery I am only opening a few, thank you for understanding :3 As always, if you've commissioned me before you can request a slot for next month. Now. The only reason this may change is that I'm switching over my harddrive to a shiny new SSD this weekend. You'll know if it went okay if come Monday the profile info still says 'Opening June 16th.' If it doesn't...💀 We gun cross that bridge when we come to it. I need to mirror them and have the bios change the boot drive and historically my work pc and I get into arguments over shit like that. I built this pc 8 years ago with a friend who guided me through the process but I do recall he was the one who set up the system initially cause I had to run to work and we were impatient/excited.

I had half a mind to make the Great Drive Migration wait till June 28th. Two things: I'm only 50% confident the old hard drive could make it to June 28th. Second, June 28th, has been a...rough time of year for me since my dad passed in 22. Last year, in fact, my car started doing the death rumble outta no where and the engine was failing. Aside from the insane cost of repairing it, I was also without a car in an incredibly rural area for the next month and a half. It absolutely destroyed my mindset and ruined most of my summer being so trapped.
I basically got the news about replacing the hard drive and was like 'Yeah, naw. I'm not waiting. Cause if something catastrophic happens on that date or even near it, with my livelihood computer I'll crash out.' You know it's concerning when even your executive dysfunction steps aside lmao.
Oh! Herbie is doing better!! For those I've vented to about that! Slowly but surely! The vet decided he had sarcoptic mange. (Then didn't tell anything beyond that aside from give him Simparica. Oh, no, they said 'go to your doctor for a cream if YOU get itchy. So...thanks.) Which seemed...odd, if it was so serious and devastating. I looked over his vet records for the last 6 months and discovered on Feb he received in one day 3 vaccines, one that needed a booster, PLUS two weeks of apoquel for a hot spot infection on his haunch.
He had the booster on March 3rd, 3 days later he was in emergency. That put him on prednisone for 2 weeks, and more apoquel which apparently wasn't working. A second opinion confirmed what I thought it was-- demodectic mange, brought on by the multiple vaccines cooking his immune system and leaving him open to infections from them. He started losing fur around paws, ears and eyes ONLY around mid May, and by end of May we had him in the vet where they labeled it sarcoptic. (He wasn't losing fur in Feb, March, or April we noticed.)
Combined with his symptoms, and mostly our lack of symptoms (or the other pets in the house, such as KITT who is around him all the time but has no hair loss or itching.) we're sure that it was that. I'm...not happy the vet dodged some of my questions frankly, nor am I happy with them not offering to stagger his vaccines. 'He'll be fine,' they had said. Well, he wasn't. Aside from annual vet visits he's genuinely never had health issues like this.
I'm pretty damn easy going but you don't fuck with my dog. He turned 10 early June, and just this week has begun acting like the Herbie I've known and loved for that decade.
It's been a long year for me on that end. Work wise though, things have been enjoyable and pleasant, not to mention kinda exciting with the various jobs I've been getting! I appreciate you guys so much. I know I've slowed down a bit more but for colored line arts and paintings, I feel the end result has been worth it. It's nice to feel growth as an artist!! I felt very stagnate this time last year, so this is a welcome improvement!

My gf and I have a inside joke for this, whenever one of us exclaims over such things, the other one replies as if we were an Onion article: Local woman shocked by natural progression of Time.' 💀 I mean you'd think we'd be used to it by now lmao.
Annnyway, journal is what it says on the box! Lots of slots this month guys! I have one final tattoo planned before summer (and the killers concert in August *o* My first ever concert and it's my favorite band since I was like, 8?? Bless my Uncles for treating meee) so please hit me up if you'd like a commission! I need to make and save munny real hard between now and August....and November, since I also might have caved and ordered the life size water puppy 🥹

Also, I will be updating the ToS to reflect this but going into effect this month: On a case by case basis, I may request partial or full payment at or before sketch. This will be discussed, it will not just be a surprise. In 85% of the time this will not be something I will need to bring up at all. But there have been enough instances over the past year and a half where I have gone unpaid or the waiting time has gone beyond two months or more, meaning I lost money and a slot. I prefer the sketch-payment-lineart-payment-finish method for my own peace of mind, but unfortunately I've gotten too much stress continuously from the above happening. I also don't wanna change my entire process, since as I mentioned this is maybe 3 out of 10 people, so while that number is low...I'd like to have a plan expressed beforehand and be transparent! Thank you for understanding ^^

Life update, Flash Sale, just a lil check in
Posted 7 months agoWhy has parts of March, particularity the weekends, been 5 years long?
Two weeks ago on Sunday I had to get Herbie to an emergency vet for a hot spot that got infected. He was put on hard antibiotics and a steroid. (They quoted us $400-$800 and then it became $1000 which like, fair its emergency but also 💀 blz)
Took his meds like a champ and then on day 13 (Sunday morning at 2am) began getting sick like 8 hours after eating. It was just food and stomach stuff. AND his rash comes back-- all over his body and making him miserable. He had a vet app already scheduled yesterday. Basically cleared him for the meds but the vet thinks he caught a stomach bug. I'm just trying to get him to drink water at this point, but we're both miserable and run down lmao. He's 9 years, gunna be 10 in June, and he's never had allergies like this before, or frankly any health problems? We thought food (chicken allergy) might be the cause but 2x changes over the course of 3 months, each time eliminating certain proteins, haven't done much. And now of course he's not eating, so even trying to get him rice or boiled beef isn't going over well.
The vet said he wasn't dehydrated yesterday, which is kinda surprising but a relief. Got him home and he took in some water but zero interest in food.
So today I'm gunna try to work but also monitor him. I do not want to take him back to that emergency vet, but if he keeps this up I'll need to reach back out to our vet. He's not shaking or panting or doing anything weird, and he's alert for certain questions so I'm really hoping its just a stomach bug after the drugs for 2 weeks.
If anyone knows or has owned a golden retriever, it kills me to see how he acts around me (sad, pathetic, big old yeller eyes of pain) and then we get him to the vet and he's like 8D "Hi hi! I'm so chipper and happy and make my girl look like a liar!!" Kills me. I love that dog though, he's my absolute heart and soul and the animal I'm closest to since I lost my horse. I'm so frustrated with not knowing why things aren't working for him, frustrated I can't just afford every single test to determine that, and angry that I'm letting him down after everything he's done for me, as well as having to start to process that, regardless of health, he is getting older and older and one day I won't have him.
Okay vet stuff over. I need to move away from that topic, here's the stuff for my arts:
Uh obv funds are now basement level low, and I haven't even done taxes yet. With that in mind, there is a flash sale coming up Thursday-Friday of this week. Right now thinking of just colored sketches since I do need munny but also don't want to fall behind on commissions, but if I get some more work done I might add a slot for a discounted lineart 👀👀
And this is a gentle reminder: If you can't pay for a commission in the month you get a slot, please consider waiting. I am willing to be flexible to a point, but this year I've had sketches going unpaid for 2-3 weeks and...longer. And honestly, I have no problem waiting if I get some communication about an expected date. It's sort of discouraging and it makes me want to reopen slots just so I can get by, but then I run the risk of quality dropping if I take on too much work. My commissions don't close in a day or even a week anymore, and that's also starting to get to me.
Sorry this journal is one of the lower mood ones, but I just wanted to keep yall updated. I took off yesterday due to the vet/monitoring him but I plan to be around the rest of the week to work on arts.

However due to unexpected expenses I had at the vet this month + student loans + car insurance, I'll be opening some discount colored sketch slots at the end of this month to make sure I can get some groceries and take down bills. Keep an eye out at the end of the last full week, round the 27th or so for a journal on that. Thank you to everyone who got a slot this month <3 <3 ilu

Birthday!
Posted 8 months agoToday's my birthday and despite the state of... Everything, I am determined to carve out this day and make it something nice and chill and lovely.
I was able to keep my tattoo appointment, because my artist is amazing 😭
And tho I don't typically work on my birthday, I am this year so I can tomorrow off and recoup from my session.
And I requested strawberry shortcake from my mom is the best baker I know 😊

Vent journal /student loans
Posted 8 months agoSo I went to renew my IBR plan today since I just got a letter in the mail about it
And there's a notice about a court freezing the plan and there's no way to renew
Right in time for my birthday next week.
And in March I'll have car insurance, registration renewal, and taxes due on my freelancing.
So uh. Not sure what to do. Besides watch a clock tick down to March 12th when they'll want $300 I don't have since I make like. A LOT below poverty level 👌 love this country. Would love to move if I could afford that too but! Can't do that either.
Money is freedom, my grandmother used to tell me.
I just want to be free enough to afford gas and groceries, ain't that pathetic. I'll talk to my tattoo artist and cancel my app. I'll figure it out. I'll try. It's all we can do.

Febuary Commissions Status + YCHs Valentines
Posted 9 months agoHullo all. First month of 2025 come and gone. It's certainly been an interesting one.
I think with respect to the few remaining commissions from 2024, and January's commission list, I will not be opening commissions this month. They will open first thing March, which is also right after my birthday! I somehow got SOOOO incredibly lucky and snagged a tattoo slot with my artist on my bday!! Which is unheard of, typically they're booked 2-3 months out, and I asked for a slot last week...just about fell outta my chair when they came back asking for that date XD <3
I'm pretty ambivalent or even antagonistic toward my birthday. I think it's just, lots of reasons. Not a fan of parties, nor this time of year (I was never the kid who got a pool party considering it was always deep winter. I did get a snow day once or twice...as well as being snowed IN entirely, as as getting Scarlet Fever and spending my bday hospitalized >>; ) and I'm not a fan of getting older. (Well, who is??) SO basically to be getting a tattoo is kind of a dream come true. It will make my day super fun and I'm totally hyped instead of glossing over the day XD
With that cost in mind coming up at the end of Feb, I will be doing (as of right now, I hope) TWO Ychs for this month! One will be a SFW NF/LF duo for Valentines Day (think romantic swim!) and the other...I haven't decided but it might be nsfw NF solo OR a feral sfw feline solo bc your cryptid creeture wants to draw cats ;)
Both will be cropping up Mon/Tues next week and will have limited slots since they're releasing at the same time. If those aren't your speed, my YCH folder is up to date :) So if it says there's a slot available and you're interested, feel free to note me and we can talk shop!

🎄 Winter break! 🎄
Posted 10 months agoWrapping up some last minute things. While a handful of projects are going into the New Year, it shouldn't be too many. I believe I updated the people who are waiting with either finished work or a check-in/timeline.
While I'm taking a stay-cation, I won't be checking socials much. As always, email is preferred for getting in touch quick, but discord works too if we're already friends on there.
I plan to do lots of arts for me, finish a small httyd fluffy comic, do some writing finally...and take out my crappy closet and completely redo and reorganize it. I think I'm most excited for that last one haha. Ever since we moved my closet has been the bane of my room, with one low shelf and nothing else, so things get piled, stacked poorly, dropped on the floor. It'll be nice to be able to put away clothes without a fight for my life!
Oh annnd ofc a sewing project or two ;) Working on a Serendipity the Pink Dinosaur plush. I'd like to either make another smaller Toothless or perhaps finally work on Vaporeon properly, but Vaporeon's pattern needs drafting x.x Toothless I should be able to just get started on...once I buy black fabric lmao.
Happy holidays, and remember to stay warm....and hydrated! Important in winter too haha.
