Farewell Art Clokey
Posted 16 years agoArt Clokey, the animator who made Gumby and brought claymation into the mainstream passed away a little over a week ago. I first saw the Gumby show the year after I graduated from high school, and I appreciated its refreshing surreality, as well as its more cerebral qualities as compared to its competition.
    Candy For Furries?
Posted 16 years agoDid you ever just wish you could french kiss a cartoon animal? Well, look no further. I mean, look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rz4.....eature=channel
Somebody in product development gets some bizarre ideas. Personally, I'm not rushing out to Walgreen's right this second.

Gumby and Pokey Adventure???? O..O
Posted 16 years agoHay, if you have an account on DeviantArt, check this out!

(Not safe for work!)
Why does Pokey get all the good adventures????
[Update]
Here's a new one by the same photographer.
http://fc06.deviantart.com/fs42/f/2.....SJAFOCUSED.jpg
(Also not safe for work, kids, etc. and requires adult access on DeviantArt.)
Now I'm not so jealous of Pokey anymore. *shiver*

This is another weird series. They messed up the links in the website, so use mine instead:

The themesong's in a different style for each episode. Kinda cool.
I'm not sure what happened to this one. (Actually there's a real episode squashed in there near the end.)

Unicorn Planet
Posted 17 years agoWell, so far I haven't been too impressed with the Link of the Day. I guess I'm not too interested in the "kick in the balls" type of comedy (unless it's kinky :-P ).
Here's something that's kind of funny, and it's furry-appropriate:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQJD1ura7G4
There's also five other episodes.
OK...um...I can't think of anything else to say right now.
End transmission.

The Catillac Cats
Posted 17 years agoHere's an interesting trip down memory lane:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73aS.....-048g&NR=1
This is from the Heathcliff/Catillac Cats show, first aired back in the late 1980s.
I remember seeing Cleo the cat back when my teen body was flooded with frustrated hormones. Most cartoon females were a caricature of femininity, but this show was different, and I think Cleo was actually meant to seem sexy with only a light touch of exaggeration. Of course, we had no internets back then (and no yiff) and I never guessed that others could develop a crush on a fictional ideal, so I never told anybody (until right now). (Note: everybody has some kind of fantasy, but this kind is pretty harmless since it can't cross over into the real world.)
Something else impressed me when I was watching this clip. It doesn't have the kind of sadistic character interactions that you see in so many cartoons before and since. In the part where Leroy was trying to disrupt their plans and was about to bring objects crashing down on him, the cats actually warned him to look out, and when he was stubborn and got clobbered anyway, Riff Raff actually rescued him. I was actually touched by this shocking display of civility. I hope it isn't just a thing of the past.

Journal Entry Zero Point One
Posted 17 years agoI'm not done yet, but I'm starting a new entry so I don't have too much entered at once that could accidentally get baleeted.
Anyway, since my fursona has basically no connection to me in real life, I don't have real life events to air here. Instead I'm going to post interesting (and usually furverted) links to stuff I find on the interwebs.
I stumbled into some interesting animal mating videos on Youtube recently. No, they aren't beastiality or anything like that, but they are somewhat graphic, even though some technically aren't rated for mature audiences.
[Note: I removed one from here because the video was deleted by the owner.]
This shows something I hadn't noticed before from animals mating:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcokB0Ms2-4
You don't see anything quite like this in documentaries. Just check out that huge splash of splooge when the male pulls out; it's really impressive. This candid film caught it where most nature films try to protect our sensitive eyes from too much reality.
OK, this one isn't natural at all:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPIj7JWv0MY
He has an interesting idea for the Fur-Real Pony, but personally I'm not quite furverted enough to go out and buy one.

Journal Entry Zero
Posted 17 years agoSince my journal has been sitting here unused and boring, I thought maybe I'd try writing something. First I'll introduce myself.
I call myself Charlie Walker, since that was the name I came up with when I first signed up with Furcadia. My furry connections go back further than that, though, to back in the Furrymuck days when "yiff" was just a gutteral sound foxes make. Actually it was already in my imagination far earlier than that, before they even started networking personal computers together and "furry" just meant covered with fur. So, for me it's more of who I am and has little to do with the current furry "subculture".
Anyway, while so far there is very little in my gallery that could be considered "yiffy", anybody that glances at my favorites can tell that I am very much a furvert. I don't try to hide it, because it's basically what attracts me to the furry scene.
I will probably try to make contributions of my own to the general yiffyness of the furry art world as a way of motivating myself to develop artistic skills of my own. So I'm pretty much here to have fun and I hope I will help improve your experience in some small way as well.
