Ideas so far

Hydrogen: dragon breathing fire or some thing to do with stars.
Helium: Inflation fetish its a common prop.

Carbon: A diamond and coal some sort of underground creature.
Oxygen: something plant related

Now that's not true for me I do identify as a furry but I wish to talk about people on sites like this who don't.

Now first I recognise your right to recognise yourself as you wish and define things as you wish.

Here's my problem in my mind the broadest definition of a furry (in real life) is a fan or creator (whose majority of work is in this area) of anthropomorphic and related character types. Now I see that is a bit too broad and includes some people I recognise as non furrys but it my starting point.


Now when I find people saying they are not a furry in most cases I find they define furry as everything in the fandom they don't do. In fact they border on no true Scotsman.

In this I include all of you bi, pan, lesbian, man lovers even some heterosexuals can be included.

you may think this is just flaming gays making a fuss trying to be the centre of attention but with out this we are more likely to lose rights then to get more. Fundamental religious groups and homophobes will not stop till we are all back in the closet or worse and the number of swing voters is larger then you would think.

As a minority we're almost in a red queen run we need to run on the spot to stay where we are and allot of the rights they fighting for are needed if homosexuality is to be recognised as normal and not as some quirk though I will agree that some are over reaching for more then there share.

Pride events are not about the outrageous displays its about forcing people to remember we exist because people will be more then willing to forget we exist. If you think pride events are filled with too many flamers then go yourself to prove that we're just as normal as everyone else.

Women's and black's rights are still not completely have equal rights there is still many discrimination to these groups even though their movements are older then ours and they are visible to the public all year round.

So all you who say I don't care about the right that are being fought for us, who joke about gay pride remember how you felt when you first came out the fear and the shame (if lucky you didn't feel it then) think about living you whole life feeling it and then that is why we need pride.

oh and if you in the closet and attacking pride on-line the place you can be yourself in secrecy you are not even worth my time.

To all you artist out there could you do your fans a favour please give you files a unique file name.

Now I'm not saying to give them a great name even if its just the date at the end will be better then the type of files i'm talking about.

a pet love and hate about avatars

love: when animated ones sync with what i'm hearing be a tv show, music or even someone talking it rocks. It doesn't mater if its dancing or lip syncing its cool.

Hate: When animated avatars flash rapidly they distracted me as I have to stare at them.

As a self confessed lurker (ok semi-lurker I make the odd post now and again) I'm wondering whats peoples definition of lurking and opionion.

Personlly I see it as a ok thing as not every one has time to be a full time contributer but still have an intrest in what goes on. Some days I personly feel like I cheat places by not contributing but at the same time I don't think I have any thing to contribute. I surpose I could faviote art now and again and maybe do more journals (thought about doing a journal about budgeting and how it improves finanises). I guess differnt people even online have differnt levels of social ease which is odd as I'm more out going in real life.

Don't really do journals but I thought comming back online after a whole year is a big thing. No big reason why I've been off line but that I've left university, and got chucked out of my student digs early. Been living with my boyfriend parents for a bit and now we have our own flat with our own internet and not a borrowed one though I'll most likely be on here less which means I'll do even less talking then before and before I was a lerker anyway.
