Rolf-B235 Brief Summary
Posted 3 months agoAlr so I had a brainwave, and thought I should make like a brief summary for my SPARTAN-III OC from Halo, so here it isCW for those uncomfortable with child soldiers, group homes, dead parents, dead siblings, terrorism mentioning, gore, etc.(context: a SPARTAN-III is a class of Supersoldier created to fight aliens, they were experts in stealth, and rarely went to the frontlines)Rolf-B235, born Rolf Harald Sjöberg, was a SPARTAN-III Supersoldier of Beta company, born in mid 2533 on the outer colony of Mamore. His parents were refugees from the outer colony of Harvest, a largely Scandinavian(look idc if it says it was colonized by Americans, ain’t no way that’s true when literally every named location on Harvest is a reference to Norse mythology) world that was the site of the first contact between humans and the alien theocratic regime: “The Covenant”(for these purposes, they are generic evil aliens). After the disastrous contact, Rolf’s parents evacuated along with the vast majority of Harvest’s residents, eventually settling on Mamore where they would become insurrectionists.
In the year of 2536, a violent insurrection broke out on the planet, which prompted the SPARTAN-III program’s Alpha company to respond by quelling the rebellion, this resulted in the death of Rolf’s parents. Now an orphan, Rolf was sent to a group home where he was subjected to the standard group home stuff of today(yeah it may be the future but like, world war 2 on steroids is happening so it’s underfunded), this prompted him to learn to adapt to the hostile surroundings. This amongst other traits is what prompted the Office of Naval Intelligence to “enlist” him in 2539.
After being “enlisted”, Rolf was shipped off to the world of Onyx, paired with 3 other kids, and competed with >400 other candidates to fill one of the 300 slots in the SPARTAN-III program’s Beta Company. During one training mission Rolf and his team were sent out in the wilderness of Onyx, and forced to return to camp without any help, unfortunately him and fellow squad-mate Nicolas-B396 were swept away in one of the many rivers of the forest they were stuck in. It was deemed by their trainers that there was no reasonable way for them to get back to camp, so search and rescue parties were sent after the two. Unfortunately for the search and rescue parties, the 2 candidates were cocky bastards, who took it upon themselves to make it back to camp on their own, even going so far as to attack their would-be rescuers just to steal their supplies. Eventually the 2 made it back only to be greeted by harsh scolding, and punishment for wasting the time of the trainers there, but their teamwork and skills in hiking unseen were noted in their files.
In 2545 Rolf officially graduated, and was augmented along with his squad mates, going on to assist with a handful of operations, before he and his squad-mate Nick were mortally wounded during Operation: SHADOW DEBT, which allowed the two to narrowly miss the disastrous Operation: TORPEDO which claimed the lives of all but 2 of the combatants. Now that the entirety of Beta Company, minus a handful of SPARTANs were killed, it was deemed that there remaining members of Beta Company were to fill niche roles, like trainer, Cat-2, and in the case of Rolf and Nick, headhunters. Usually headhunters were chosen during training, and given extra training after augmentations, but due to the war and lack of time the two were informally “knighted” as headhunters, with none of the additional specialized training given.
Alr there you have it, 4 paragraphs on Rolf’s backstory, I took a few liberties with stuff like Cat-2s, but there’s literally 0 lore on Cat-2s other than they exist. Might make another thing like this to fill in the gaps between 2545-2552 but for now this is what I got.
Blegh
Posted 3 months agoWhat’s up, it’s ya boi, cheese here, back at it again with empty promises
I re-read like a few chapters of Halo: First Strike, and now I absolutely hate my current Halo series thing. So I’m gonna like actually put more than 2 seconds of thought into it this time, and also try to make it not be complete ass so as to not disrespect the legacy of our lord and saviour (insert Halo book author here)
Also congratulations if you read this, you’ve wasted your time

Idea gathering
Posted 11 months agoJournal number 2 is here, and I have got some ideas for future content!
So I’ve got a few ideas for future stories, with a few characters concepts who I will keep to myself for now. But for right now what I need are some more ideas, to bridge the gaps between the smaller ideas I already got. So if anyone has any ideas regarding story ideas, leave them in the comments below.
Now for ideas I already got:
-Series of stories surrounding the headhunters from my first novella
-Pre-war novella following an Orion Candidate
-String of naval concepts for stories
