Posted 8 years agoSo Ceraphyna and I are planning on attending MFF for the first time this year and want to stay in the con hotel, which I've estimated to be about $900 for five nights after taxes are applied. I'll pay the full room price if I have to, but I would like to attempt to find two or three others to split the cost with, so drop a note or comment if interested. :D

Posted 9 years agoAs this is my first time attending TFF-- or any fur con, for that matter-- is the Guest of Honor Dinner worth attending? And if so, what should be expected should I actually attend? I'm definitely purchasing the Super Sponsor package, but I haven't the faintest idea what to expect from the dinner and I need some insight to determine whether it would be worth attending or not.
If anyone who sees this journal has attended previous dinners or has at least some knowledge of the subject, please do share!

Posted 9 years agoI don't care if anyone reads this or not, I just wanna get it off my chest.
If you come into a chat room you've never visited before and immediately start bitching about your life and bringing down the general mood of the room, of course you're not going to be well liked. And it doesn't help if you're also a cold, mean, and generally unfriendly person to boot.
If all you do is bitch and moan about things you don't like, you're guaranteed to chase people away from the idea of even attempting to form some kind of friendship with you, as that makes you pretty much unapproachable to a lot of people. Don't be surprised if you are warned that you will be banned if you don't lighten up.
And definitely don't insult the mods/admins of the room when they warn you, because that is a surefire way to get banned permanently. And insisting that the reason you're being banned is because I'm "hateful to story-driven RPers" will dissolve any remorse I might have experienced. Which I'm not hateful to story-driven RPers, as that wasn't even relevant to the reason why he was banned? Like, what?

Posted 9 years agoHow hard could it possibly be to find a freaking job when I live less than a quarter mile from a freaking mall? I've looked at the mall's website and nothing popped up. I've looked at city jobs and I'm barely unqualified for most of them. Even a library aide. I've applied to most of the local businesses in my area with no success. At this point, I'll probably put an ad up on Craigslist or something and clean houses or babysit, but I don't trust those kinds of sites. If I had my license already, I doubt a lot of this would be a problem...
