Posted 10 months agoTesla of course, but Amazon as well. Bezos abused his wealth to stifle the Washington Post. Don't give the billionaires that have taken the US any more of what little you have. Boycott them.
Canine DNA
Posted a year agoSo I watched a Youtube short in which a doorbell is rung
Roommate's Great Dane BORKborkBORK reacts and runs to the door
but the deal is she's never lived in a house with a doorbell. She was born in the house of the previous owner, he didn't have one, and I don't have one so why the react?
CONCLUSION: Doorbell reactivity is genetically encoded in canine DNA, confirmed.

The biology (specifically neuro-biology) of transgenderism.
TLDR: Brains of transgendered people, whether pre- or post-op, are wired differently. Effects of the hormonal alterations involved have been ruled out as being the cause, by non-transgendered persons undergoing hormonal therapies such as testosterone boosts for women and estrogen boosts for men not showing any link to the brain effects documented in transgendered persons.

New car
Posted 2 years agoI recently bought (through Carvana) a 2019 Nissan Leaf, an electric vehicle, which will be not only my first EV, but the first time I've bought a car requiring financing instead of paying for a clunker in cash. Right now I'm going through about $50/week in gas, and recently my roommate starting paying me rent which has relieved financial strain, so the $300/mo I'll be paying for financing doesn't seem like it'd be too much to manage. As I get used to the new monthly bill, I'm hopeful I can save up more money for a good down payment on getting solar panels and maybe a powerwall, but will see -- might need to pay off the car first.
My tailwagger crossed Rainbow Bridge :(
Posted 2 years agoShe was sick, she's been sick before, but this time bloodwork revealed her kidneys had failed and it was late stage, so just a few hours ago she was put to sleep. My heart is broken :(

My beloved artists ...
Posted 5 years agoThank you all. You deserve more than the few shinies I've been able to fling ... but unfortunately got news today that all bars and restaurants will be closing. I deliver produce, and while I still have some customers (grocery stores), the surge they are having won't make up for the complete obliteration of the other stops, so my income will be falling even lower. With this, making my own basic bills is going to be a challenge, and I've had to entirely shut off my patreon subscriptions for the time being :( I also regrettably won't be able to fling the shineez I have in your streams.
I really wish it hadn't come to this :( Your creations are a vibrant feast for we fans. I fear I am not the only one falling from a position of generosity into desperate survival, so ... please be ready. I hope you can continue to work your craft.
Thank you, awesome artists. You are very dear to me. I love you all.

Going to have to cut back patreon :(
Posted 5 years agoCoronovirus is hitting hard. I've been having 47 hours pretty consistently delivering produce driving a big truck, but restaurant orders have all but vanished and this will likely persist for many months, maybe even a year. The loss of OT I expect to shrink the pay I get for this week by 40% versus my normal checks. While a one week bump like that is certainly endurable, its reasonable for me to presume this is going to continue for the forseeable future. I can't maintain my expenses with 40% smaller paychecks :(
With regret to the many hard working artists I have a Patreon subscription to, I am going to have to pare back my subscriptions and cut some of my other expenses.

Traffic report
Posted 6 years agoOn the FA artway, that blocking incident seems to finally have been cleared. It will take some time for this gigabytes-long backup to clear out, though ...
Last year I got a $16 refund. This year I owe $1200 :(
Posted 6 years agoThanks to Trump and Congress telling the IRS to reduce how much is withheld from Americans' paychecks to trick Americans into thinking they were getting bigger paychecks, like a lot of Americans I have a shocking and unprecedented tax bill. I have never before owed taxes, but suddenly I have a $1200 bill. This is a huge financial setback for me to say the least :( I was getting ready to arrange for an expensive ovary-sparing spay for my doggo, but now I can't afford it :(
Finally the REAL teaser for the CGI remake of The Lion King

Car recovered again
Posted 7 years agoThis time they caught the guy, he tried to ram a police car, my car has some minor damage, and I'm going to be out another $300 to get it out of impound in addition to the $160 I had to pay to get it out of the impound Thursday night.
My car has been stolen TWICE in 2 days!
Posted 7 years agoSomeone stole my car Wednesday. I spent 2-3 hours with police reporting it, yesterday (Thursday) the Seattle Police found it and I had to get a ride from my parents to get my car out of impound, got home very late last night after getting almost no sleep yesterday. The thief had something jammed in the ignition and had a window rolled down that I couldn't roll back up .. I kept checking it every couple of hours, last time at 5 a.m. Finally managed to sleep a couple hours, woke up at 9 a.m. ... and its been stolen again :(
