Car recovered again
Posted 7 years agoThis time they caught the guy, he tried to ram a police car, my car has some minor damage, and I'm going to be out another $300 to get it out of impound in addition to the $160 I had to pay to get it out of the impound Thursday night.
My car has been stolen TWICE in 2 days!
Posted 7 years agoSomeone stole my car Wednesday. I spent 2-3 hours with police reporting it, yesterday (Thursday) the Seattle Police found it and I had to get a ride from my parents to get my car out of impound, got home very late last night after getting almost no sleep yesterday. The thief had something jammed in the ignition and had a window rolled down that I couldn't roll back up .. I kept checking it every couple of hours, last time at 5 a.m. Finally managed to sleep a couple hours, woke up at 9 a.m. ... and its been stolen again :(
I've been voodoo jujued by a snake!

Posted 8 years agoSomeone bumped into the front of my car while it was parked near my apartment sometime between parking it after getting home from work Friday morning and when I left for a friend's party on Saturday. They damaged my car's crappy, cheap plastic bumper, causing the wheel cowl to grind into the tire. :/
No, of course they didn't leave a note. :/

Ebonlupus
Posted 8 years agoI imagine most whom know the name Ebonlupus have a less-than-rosy view of him and, truly, he had a gruff, pessimistic exterior. I loved him -- truly, we were lovers; he was my last lover, in fact -- and I still love him, but unfortunately Friday I found out from his brother posting on his Facebook account that this past Monday, May 29, he passed away.
Say what you will ... but I will always know him as a great, deep spirit whom embodied learning and understanding multiple points of view.
I shall treasure the time I had with him, and I am yet again grieved by the passing of a mortal soul I am close-at-heart with.

Lost my phone
Posted 8 years agoI lost my phone a few weeks ago. I have a replacement at the same number, but I've lost all my contacts. If you have my on your contact list, could you send me a text saying whom you are so I can add you to my contacts? Thanks.
Terrible day
Posted 8 years agoI've been feeling quite hopeless lately, failing at job after job. Got fired for the first time from a job on Monday. And today just became the worst day I've had in 11 years ... my sister's Belgian shepherd, whom I love dearly -- in fact he's my favorite of all the dogs I currently know -- was viciously attacked by two of her pitbulls. I spent about 6 hours kneeling by him trying to provide what little comfort I could ... but he succumbed to his injuries this evening :(
I knelt by him. He was terribly in shock, distressed and confused. He couldn't focus his eyes on anything. His most serious wounds were along his belly ... I'll spare the gory details :( But he couldn't sit up. He managed to work himself from laying on his side to on his chest a couple of times to try to squirm toward me when I rested from otherwise constant pets on him ... despite all he was through, I know he recognized me.
I am very devastated. I am a deep dog lover, and of all the dogs I've known since my own German Shepherd passed away 11 years ago, he's become my favorite. I braggingly love that I proved to be his favorite human, even more than my sister, as he would always come to me even over her when I visited. He was hobbled by an old leg injury he had before my sister had him, but loved adventure, enjoyed attention but wouldn't push another dog out of the way whom was getting attention, unlike the two pits who killed him (both of whom would shove, bark at and/or even nip another dog getting attention :/).
I don't deal with grief or strife well :( I was just getting over an anxiety attack from having been fired Monday ... now I'm even more devastated :/
Tomorrow I will help my sister bury him ... gentle, loving, peaceful Pharaoh the Belgian Shepherd.

Posted 9 years agoFirst ever Artist Beware callout
Posted 10 years agoReally don't want to do it, but its gone on long enough. I sent an e-mail off to the artist last Friday asking for a refund for a commission I paid for around July of 2014, was promised a sketch by January 2015, but more than a year later I have nothing. If they don't respond to my e-mail by Friday (one week after I sent the e-mail asking for a refund), I feel I must post a beware on them.
I really like their artwork, and understand they've had a hard time, but ... I paid for something I did not receive. :/

Anyone like 4X Turn-Based Strategy Games?
Posted 10 years agoI have 2 50% off discount coupons in my Steam inventory, one for "Endless Space Emperor Edition" and another for "Endless Space Disharmony." They both expire one minute before midnight on New Year's Eve, so just 4 days.
Endless Space is one of the better space-based "4X" turn-based strategy games in my opinion, similar to the "Master of Orion" series. In fact, I think its come about the closest to MOO and MOO2. Endless Space Emperor Edition is the base game, and Disharmony is an expansion.
The games are already on an 80% off holiday special. As I understand it, you can combine discount coupons with existing discounts for even more savings ... before any discounts, Emperor Edition is $29.99 and Disharmony $9.99; with the 80% off, Emperor Edition is currently at $5.99 and Disharmony $1.99. I think the 50% off discounts cuts those down by a further half (but not sure, don't take my word on this) to roughly $3 and $1 respectively. $4 total for both would be crazy to pass up if you like Master of Orion-type games and don't already have Endless Space! Again, I'm in the poor box so I can't give you the $4, just the coupons.
I have one of each to give away ... first come, first serve!

ABOUT FUCKING TIME
Posted 10 years agoThe FDA has overturned the 30 year old homophobic ban on blood from gay men:
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-u.....0U423Y20151221
I know there's a lot of fucked up shit in the world going on. I do no mean to demean at all the Paris or San Bernadino attacks. But pretty please could some FA artists sharing my ebbing-of-long-bate-breath at this commemorate the occasion with some relevant art? No unfortunately I have no shinies to spend, but ..... if I'm worth some gift art, or a meaningful teardown of a homophobic regulation like this is worth some art, I hope you'll consider drawing something celebrating it. :)

Mile 1 starts tomorrow
Posted 10 years agoOrientation complete, all written tests complete, I have been assigned a trainer and will start hauling my first official load tomorrow. My trainer is on a dedicated account within California, so this means I will have a limited, fixed selection of pickups and dropoffs within the state. When my training is complete in 5-7 weeks, I will be "OTR Lower 48" or long-haul all over the lower 48 U.S. states, but I'm glad my training is a more limited area since it'll help me build confidence faster when I can get used to where turns, pickups and destinations are instead of random, all over, with every road and road likely being the first time I've been over that road or taken that particular turn ... so hopefully this will translate over to an easier progression through my training.
Anyhoo ... I do not know how much time I will have for the near future.
TTFN.

Leaving Saturday Morning (10/3) for Fontana, CA
Posted 10 years agoWill attend orientation at Werner on Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday I start OTR training -- that's driving and hauling with a trainer for 5 weeks.
May be leaving the state for 5 weeks on short notice
Posted 10 years agofor training with a truck driving company.
Getting the legal license is one thing, I gotta train to actually drive for a company. I will be getting paid, but ... yeah. Five weeks out of town!
Not sure when exactly, but could be short notice. I'm going to call to commit tomorrow.

CERTIFIED TRUCK DRIVER
Posted 10 years agoI PASSED THE TEST!
I now have a CDL (Commercial Driver's License), Class A -- that means I can drive anything that doesn't require special endorsements -- tractor/trailer, dump truck, even a firetruck.
Looking at going OTR -- Over-The-Road, aka long haul trucking.
