Anthrocon 2014
Posted 11 years agoWent to AC this year! It was my very first Anthrocon, my very first furry con and also my very second major con! And what can I say, other than wow? Just wow.
That was a blast. I had a really, really good time. It was so much fun being able to hang out with
zeoc713 and
shadowcat819 irl again, after so many years! And it was so much fun hanging out with their friends from thier area, too (I don't know any of your FA's, so if you were one of em please send me a note so I can add ya!)
I think my favorite event was the Uncle Kage/2gether charity event. That was hilariousX3 And it was also great to see all the fursuiters, though I was too a couple of em!
I also got a few commissions, as well. I've poted the ones that I was able to pick up in person at the con. I will be posting the rest as they are completed. After this weekend, I'm feeling really inspired to become more active in the fandom, and that meant that I needed to commission first-pictures of a couple of my characters who have never been drawn before.
It was an all-around great experience! The con was great, my friends were so much fun, the fursuiters were all so welcoming and adorable (and one was really really energetic!), and it was great to meet many of the artists that I've been following for so long. for those of you who went, I hope you had a great time! For those that didn't, I hope to see you next year!

Me and my silly romantic/sexual side
Posted 12 years agoOkay, so I’m tired and a bit sad, so this may be a little incoherent. Bear with me. I might also not explain everything as well as I want to. But I’ve been needing to let this out for a long time. I doubt anyone’s gonna bother reading this, but this is something I need to finally be completely open about.
Firstly, as you guys know, I’m currently single. I can’t handle being single, though. It’s just not right for me. I feel so much better when I’m living for someone. What do I mean by that?
When I’m in a relationship, I feel an overwhelming urge to bring joy to my significant other. And not just to the extent that other lovers feel that urge. The urge is much more powerful to me. I never knew I liked romance until I saw how happy it can make the other person, and now I can’t get enough of romance. It gets to the point where I’d be perfectly happy and perfectly satisfied just living for them (as long as the love is mutual, I mean. I don’t want to simply be used..).
Now, I will say that this urge does have it’s sexual sides. I admit that the concept of a mistress giving me commands is… incredibly, INCREDIBLY sexy to me. In fact, if you’re in a relationship and you give me a command that’s pretty much gonna make me melt on the spot and say “Yes, ma’am!”
However, it’s much deeper than a mere fetish. It’s something I feel as an emotional need as well as a sexual one. Because to me, it just feels right that my relationships should work that way. If I love a person, why should I not serve them? Why should I not be constantly looking for ways to bring them happiness? Especially when I get so much joy simply my seeing their smile, and even more when I know that I put that smile there?
The thing is, a lot of women seem uncomfortable with that. They’re used to society telling them that THEY should be the more submissive one in the relationship. I know without a doubt that this is a big part of why my last relationship ended. But it’s not something I can bottle up, and it almost seems to put off most women. So if I’m ever going to live happily, I need to find someone who doesn’t mind having her man be… well… HERS. If you know what I mean=P
But I’ve been trying to find women like that. I’ve tried dating sites (OkCupid being the main one), I’ve tried Fetlife, (and from what I’ve gathered, this type of stuff tends to be hard to find outside of Fetlife these days.). No luck. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong, though. And none of my friends have been able to give advice, nor do any of them know people who can help. I’m on my own.
And I know what you might say. That I shouldn’t be searching for the “perfect woman”. But I’m not. All I’m looking for is a woman who is open to being served. A woman who either likes that idea or could grow to like it. And even then, I don’t instantly want to become their lover. I wanna become their friend. And then see if love ignites. If it doesn’t I still have a cool new friend. But if it does, then I couldn’t even express how valuable that person would become to me!
Until then, I’ve got this nagging urge to please someone, yet no one to please. I feel empty. Very empty. But as I mentioned before, I currently have no one who can help me here. I’ve never felt so lonely.
Realistically, I know not many people pay me much heed. So if you read this far, thank you. It means a lot. If anyone can help, it would mean more to me than I can express.

Fluttershy's rage will bring about the end of all things.
Posted 13 years agoIt is reported that news of SOPA and PIPA has reached the ears of Fluttershy. In response, she has sent out a legion of her gigantic, fire-breathing clones to bring about the apocalypse. When questioned about this, she reportedly had this to say to all proponents of the bills: "How dare you? HOW DARE YOU?! Now listen here, misters and misses! You may have power and huge pocketbooks, but you do not- I repeat- you do NOT HURT MY FRIENDS!!!"
So far, many cities have crumbled under the wrath of these giant, fire-breathing pony clones, who have oddly styled their hair after Rainbow Dash. While the raw power of these monsters is a force to be reckoned with, reports state that at least 70% of all victims actually died from their heart exploding. Twice. We have helicopter footage from the scene. Be advised not to watch it unless you have a very high tolerance for adorableness.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?featur.....;v=WCP9Jn2Q0cQ
Fluttershy has not hinted at any plans for negotiation. She has, however, stated that, "If this is the kind of world where big, old meanies can get away with this, I need to make way for a nicer world. That is, if you don't mind." Investigators told her that, in fact, we do mind very much. Allegedly, she simply stated, "Oh. That's fine," locked herself up in her house and has not been seen since.
WE MUST STOP SOPA AND PIPA!

Please, vote on it and tell other bronies about it, if you like it!^^
Here's the full-sized version of it, since Cheezburger likes to shrink it down:

I'm back!
Posted 14 years agoI finally got my computer fixed!:D It feels so wonderful to have it back! I'll never part with it again^^ *huggles it tight*
I won't be online for at least a few days
Posted 14 years agoOk, long story short, this is just an announcement to tell everyone that for the next few days, they aren't going to be able to reach me unless they have my phone number.
Long story: I went to move my computer's power cord, and it unplugged itself. When I looked at it, I noticed that about half of the inner prong was suddenly missing. Where is the other half? Stuck snuggly in a very, VERY tiny hole in my computer's power inlet/outlet/thingie. I'm typing this up on the remaining battery supply (which isn't much).
I've spoken to a few friends about this, and because of how small the hole is, it's looking like I won't be able to get the prong out unless the computer gets taken apart and that entire part of the computer is replaced. Now, there is only one place around here where I can take my computer in for repairs: Worst Buy. Oh, I'm sorry, "Best" Buy. The only problem there (besides the fact that it's going to be expensive because it's Best Buy) is that I'll need a bus to get there... and there aren't any busses that go over there until Monday. (This is Saturday)
Which means I won't even be able to take my computer in to have it repaired until Monday. And after that, I have no idea how long it'll take Best Buy to fix it. So long and short of it all, you guys won't be seeing my online for a few days at least.
http://oi52.tinypic.com/2qbyums.jpg <-- Here's a picture of the power inlet. Sorry for the fuzziness. You see the tiny, tiny hole in the center? Yeah, that's where a piece of the prong is stuck.

How to be an acceptable person
Posted 14 years agoOk, evidently, I need to teach a few furries how to behave like socially acceptable people.
1. If a small child happens to be spending the night at your house, do not hold a party where you all get shit faced, have loud sex and proudly show each other your vast collection of Zeta and Bad Dragon toys as if they're trophies.
2. The morning after the party, when you go to a FAMILY restaurant (a PUBLIC PLACE), do not (and I repeat, do NOT) talk extremely loudly and proudly about inside jokes that involve dicks, dildos, vaginas and other very sexual things. This embarrasses not only you, but everyone around you and everyone in the furry fandom.
There's a lot more, but frankly if I have to explain this to people then there's no point in giving more examples.

What's yer fave Kubrick movie?
Posted 14 years agoHey, I'm just curious. Out of all the Stanley Kubrick movies you've seen (if any), what's your favorite?
Here's a list of em all, in the order that they were made:
The Killing
Paths of Glory
Spartacus
Lolita
Dr. Strangelove
2001: A Space Odyssey
A Clockwork Orange
Barry Lyndon
The Shining
Full Metal Jacket
Eyes Wide Shut
Personally, my favorite is a tie between 2001 for the grand statement it packs and The Shining for how scary if gets.

Racism? Really?
Posted 15 years agoSo evidently, the professors at my school want us to condescend to black people. No, not simply understand the plight of black people, but to condescend to them.
Let me explain. This semester, my Production III class was split up into eight groups, each of which was responsible for producing a 10 minute short. The script we picked, and the one I rewrote for the production, was about a young kid named Howie, in a microcosm of other kids. A deaf kid named Will moves in and is labeled as an outcast. The film's about Howie learning to stand up for Will.
During casting, we had an excellent actor come in for the part of Howie. He's top-notch for his age, probably the best actor we had. It didn't even enter our minds that he was black. But guess who's minds it DID enter? Every single one of our professors! From the time we picked the kid to play Howie, the professors were on our backs to take advantage of the fact that he was black, and to have all the other kids (who were COINCIDENTALLY played by white actors) be constantly picking on Howie because of his skin color.
I just got out of the screening of the final cut of the film, and a good majority of the feedback from the professors was "I'm very disappointed. Here you had a main character who was the only black kid in the neighborhood and you didn't use it!" And when we actually started explaining why him being black wasn't a big part of the film, we got "Well, you're white so you don't understand." SO WAS THE PROFESSOR! Every single professor we have is white! And yet they're bitching at us, telling us that we can't have an opinion on this matter simply because we're white? Fuck no! I've got an opinion on it, and I'm the fucking SCREENWRITER!
First of all, not every movie about a black person has to be about the fact that they're black. Black people, believe it or not, deal with problems OTHER than racists. It's hard to believe, I know, but it's true. Secondly, these professors keep pushing us to be original and to steer clear of doing things that have been done before. Oh yeah? Well how many movies have been about black people being opressed? Huh? Thirdly, all but two of the characters in the film are children, and it takes place in present-day suburbia, yet they want us to have Howie be picked on by the other kids for being black. How many suburban children these days are racists? How many? Because unless I'm missing something, it seems that each generation is getting over it easier than the previous generation, and racist thoughts aren't even going to enter the mind of a kid.
I'm just really pissed off at my professors. They don't want to drop the fact that he's black. They don't want to let it just be another detail about him. They want it to take over the film. I don't know about you, but that is not only condescending, but it goes against tolerance.

Kimba vs Simba
Posted 15 years agoOk, this is pretty much gonna be me getting something out of my system. So if you don't wanna read it, don't.
I am sick and tired of the The Lion King vs Kimba the White Lion controversy. For those of you who don't know, there's a controversy going around that The Lion King is a ripoff of an old anime show called Kimba the White Lion. Do I believe it? Hell no! Do people realise that it's possible for something to be similar to something else without it being a ripoff?
"Lord of the Rings" shares some similarities with "Chronicles of Narnia"! I mean, they're both about little people (hobbits or children) being whisked away from a down to earth setting (The Shire or England) to free a magical world (Middle Earth or Narnia) from an opressive ruler (Sauron or The White Witch). Along the way, they are protected by a powerful, wise figure (Gandalph or Aslan), who dies and comes back later to utterly destroy the armies of the enemy. Also, both LOTR and Narnia have eagles! And in both of them, the main characters have their faith in each other tested severely! And both of them include a character who betrays the heroes, almost to their doom!(Gollum or Edmund) Now, does this mean that one is a ripoff of the other? Of course it doesn't! All it means is that the two share coincidental similarities because they're both inspired by the same thing (Christianity).
The Lion King was based off of Hamlet. In fact, it's on Rotten Tomatoes' list of the top best Shakespearian movies of all time. How do we know that Kimba the White Lion isn't also based off of Hamlet? It's not far fetched to imagine such a thing. Hamlet is, after all, probably the second most popular story from the best writer who ever lived. So is it really hard to imagine that an old tv show might base itself off of it? And even if the makers of Kimba didn't base the show off of Hamlet, the makers of The Lion King did for their movie, and the similarities are just coincidental. Sure, it's a weird coincidence. But of all the shows ever produced in the world, if you can't find one show that's coincidentally similar to a Disney movie that was made afterward, you aren't looking hard enough.
And I know what some people will say: "Come on, Chinchy. Even the main characters have almost the exact same name. Simba and Kimba. Come on!" Yeah, do you realise that Simba is Swahili for "lion"? Disney named almost every character in The Lion King by using a Swahili word. Scar and Ed are the only exceptions. So again, one didn't rip off the other, they both probably took inspiration from the same source.
So in other words, can it about Simba vs Kimba, enjoy a good movie and stop looking for controversy in every little nook and cranny of every fuckin thing!

Anyone know where I can commish a fursuit?
Posted 15 years agoPretty straightforward question. Anyone know where I can commission one? Specifically a partial?

GO SEE SCOTT PILGRIM!! Also, a short review of another flick
Posted 15 years agoOH MY GOD! This is the greatest movie I ever seen in my life!
Well, second greatest. Inception was still better.
Scott Pilgrim vs the World is one of the most quotable, most hilarious movies I know. It's seriously a shame that it's doing badly in the box office. I blame the marketing. The previews and posters suck, and audiences are too afraid to risk parting with their ten dollars in order to see anything that's not about explosions. But anyway, Scott Pilgrim is definately worth the money! If you're timid about seeing it, see it anyway! On the off chance that you don't like it (you probably will), you'll at least have tried a different kind of movie. I mean really, if 'you gotta defeat my seven evil exes to date me' isn't a creative idea, then I'm the queen of England. And I'm not old enough to be her!
Also, I just saw 'Where the Wild Things Are'. (SPOILERS AHEAD) I have to say, for all the hype that I've been given about this movie, I'm quite disappointed. It wasn't inspirational, it was just a bunch of 'Hey, let's play and have fun!' Not something I'm opposed to, mind you, but it doesn't exactly make for a riveting movie. I mean, where's the conflict? Sure, there's a bunch of short conflicts thrown throughout the movie, but none that last from near the beginning of the movie to the end of the movie.
Also, Max is kind of a brat imo. I mean, he gets mad that his mom is paying attention to her boyfriend at the moment, and not him. So what does he do? Run around the house, jumping on furniture and screaming like the most uncontrollable little child in the neighborhood. Then when his mother dares to get mad at him for this, he bites her, runs away from home, and goes out to sea BY HIMSELF in a small, rickety, old boat. I can see him doing something a BIT outrageous to get attention, then throwing a tantrum when his mom gets mad... but that? Come on. I mean, I realize they were going for the misunderstood child, but they overdid his mood swings.
And then when they get there, the movie tries to make you feel sorry for the monster that's tearing down the homes of the other monsters in the village. Sure, they explain why he does it later on in the movie, but having this be the first thing we see him do causes us to think of him as just a bigger tantrum throwing whiner.
Also, one last thing. When I read the book as a kid, I liked it. It was a great kids book. But in the movie, they talk about stuff that would depress and horrify children. I mean, there's even a scene where the science teacher is lecturing the class of 8 or 9 year-olds about how the sun is going to die! He conveniently leaves out that this won't happen for several billion years, but he does talk about how it'll engulf our planet. Ya know, for kids!

CHECKMATE! *dramatic music*
Posted 15 years agoWhy the dramatic music? Hell if I know. But I do have an idea I wanna share with all you chilla-lovers! (that'd be you).
So I'm startin to get into chess. Been teaching myself the basic rules of the game, and trying to spot the flaws in my strategies, ect. The way I see it: I want something that'll exercise my brain, and if chess doesn't do it then nothing will.
So I had an idea. It'd certainly be a big project for me, as I'd have to buy materials, spend lots of time and get access to a kiln. But regardless: What if there was a chess set for the furry fandom?
Here are my ideas for the pieces. Each piece will be cartoony and clean, meaning no wieners or exposed melons. Also, all the pieces on one side would be white-furred, and on the other, black-furred. Pretty much, you'd expect to see this chess set in a cartoon. The rook (the tower piece) would be a giant kangaroo leaning on a skyscraper. The knight would be a cyberfur horse, aiming a built-in ray gun at something. This'll be because robots have natural armor, like a knight's armor. Also, they are often better fighters, just like a knight. The bishop would be a fat fur eating out of a bucket of popcorn. Why? Because when I think of a bishop, I think of a fat guy. The queen, being the most powerful piece in the game, would be a muscle-bound, female wolf with "Queen of the Gym" on her shirt. Inversely, the king (who has to run from attack and must be protected from the opponent) would be a very feminine, jumpy little guy. So he'd be inspired by fembois. Lastly, the pawns would be little, chibi foxes. If you dunno why they're foxes, you dun know the furry fandom.
Anyway, I'd also make the board itself quite decorative, but I'm keepin the specifics of that to myself. What do ya think? Comments? Questions? Cookies? Oh, please, let there be cookies D=
Hmm..... checkers with pieces shaped like cookies..... I might have to think about that.....

'Inception' and 'Airbender'
Posted 15 years agoTo the few of you who will read this, I'm gonna be giving my opinions on two movies that have recently hit theaters. If this does not interest you, there's the door. Or at least, there's where the door would be if we were actually in the same room.
Anyway, there are two recent movies that have left a very deep impression on me. The first one I saw, 'The Last Airbender', gave me the odd sensation of feeling guilty for giving the movie theater $7. I went into it expecting it to be the kind of bad movie that's so bad that it's funny. However, I underestimated the power of the crappy side of the cinema. This movie was so awful, so horrid that it seems to have gone past the funny level of bad and doubled back into the "This movie is just the worst thing I've seen in my life" kind of bad.
"Airbender", for those of you who are lucky enough to not have seen it, takes the entire first season of the television show and crams it ALL into about 110 minutes. Knight must have figured that if the series was good, then the movie would be as well if it did the exact same stuff. Seriously, I remember about 5 separate times when I thought to myself "Hey, I remember this from the show. Only in the show, it was interesting and took up 30 minutes, instead of being bland and only lasting for 5 minutes."
On top of that, the writing and acting are horrible. The characters weren't on screen for 30 seconds before I knew I hated the actors. And as the movie progressed, they proceeded to show their lack of talent.
In summary, "Airbender" is quite honestly one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
However, there is hope! On the opposite end of the spectrum is a movie that I saw last night, entitled "Inception"! Just in case you haven't heard of it, it revolves around a band of people who can break into people's dreams and steal (and also implant) ideas in their minds. This will utterly end up changing the person profoundly, as ideas can consume a man.
Without giving too much away, the main character is a troubled dream thief who's subconscious is constantly invading dreams, thus bringing mortal danger upon himself and his team mates. As the mission progresses, he will have to face his dark past and learn to let go of the things that he holds most dear.
"Inception" is a very action-packed thrill ride. It's full of CGI, however this is the rare case when I'm alright with that. The story can really only be told with CGI. And it's a heart-wrenching, gripping, intense and thought provoking tale.
So coincidentally, out of the two movies that I've seen most recently in theaters, one is very possibly the worst movie I've ever seen in my life, while the other is definitely one of the best movies I've seen in my life.
Never ever EVER see "Airbender". But when you're done reading this, go straight to the movies and see "Inception".
