Hello, everyone! Long time no journal
Posted a year agoIt's been quite a while since I've typed anything here, huh?
Despite my lack of activity as of late, I am still alive and working on art. Reason I'm not posting as much lately is precisely that I've been awfully busy with commissions and other projects and my attention span is sadly not the best. That and I've been struggling a little bit with my health the past couple of months, nothing serious though!
Now, why am I posting today of all days? Well, I have some news and I thought it'd be fair to give you all a heads-up. I'm not exactly sure when, likely when I have a bit more time, but I'll be doing a gallery clean-up and removing some content related to non-con and necro stuff. I'll also not be doing this type of content in the future as I'm in a better place mentally and I no longer feel invested in those themes.
I am aware that it's all fictional and I have absolutely no qualms with it. The issue is that I would be too detached from the art and I'm very sure that the quality would suffer as a result, and I would hate to deliver a less than ideal product, if it makes sense.
I figured I should let you all know before I delete anything in case there's any images you'd like to save, be it commissions you ordered in he past or just stuff you like and wish to keep.
That's all for now! I hope you've all been doing well!

Good news
Posted 3 years agoGood morning/day/evening, depending where you are.
I noticed that I haven't updated in a good five months, so I figured it's a good time now.
Finally, I've been able to finish all of my workload. I can not thank people enough for being so understanding and patient with me. I will be re-opening business shortly, albeit with some changes to my ToS.
Another thing that I'll be changing is just how much work I'll be doing at a time. Back in my country, I did not have the privilege of choice when it came to income, as I could barely afford basic necesities. Work, any amount, was very much welcome. While it -still is- welcome, and this is still my main source of income, I am not in a situation of near poverty anymore (thankfully) so I can safely be a bit more lenient.
With this, I mean I'll be taking smaller numbers of commissions at a time (let's say five at a time) and reduce the amount of comic pages too (Making two or three at a time instead of 12 for example). And while I am still okay with big projects, I'll be choosing to work on these by very small portions instead of all of it at once, for the sake of my mental health. I'll also focus on personal art on the weekends, since I haven't been able to in a while.
All in all, I am happy that it's all done and I am sorry it took that long to get it done. Hopefully now I can have a more normal work routine without all the stress and uncertainty. Don't get me wrong, though... a lot of that stress was from the place I was living at, rather than the workload itself.
Also, it's been really god damn hot lately. It's like the tropical hellhole weather follows me wherever I travel to... haha. Ugh.
Anyway, I'll be reading you later!

Hello
Posted 3 years agoGood day (or night), everyone!
I was recently asked by a couple people about my whereabouts, assumed to have quit art and left the interent forever or something like that. I realize I haven't communicated in quite a while and my art updates are kind of slow too, so I understand where this assumption came from.
But no. I have not left FA, I have not quit art, I don't plan on doing so anytime soon, unless I end up severely disabled (or dead). In fact, I am still here and I browse the site almost everyday. You can still talk to me and I'll answer.
Reason I am not as active as one would expect is that I am still working on my queue, which is actually nearly complete. On top of that, I don't really know what to post about on journals, I am bad at initiating conversation aside from the usual "How are you doing?". I don't have a lot to write about lately, as life is generally "boring" for me, which is not a bad thing, I am an introvert and I appreciate the peace and quiet.
But yeah, the long queue is almost finished. After I am done with this few comic pages, I will re-open commissions, finally, but I will not be taking as many as I did that time, especially comic pages (I am totally okay with long stories, just not everything at once). I was thinking of opening an X amount of slots at a time as to prevent backlog, delays and stress. I will also change my ToS, been meaning to do so for a while now.
As for personal art... I've ben asked about it too. There's really no reason for me to quit making it. At the moment, I am giving more priority to this queue. I work on personal stuff when I get some free time, and for now I don't have much of it. Same reason as to why my gallery uploads are slow.
So... that's pretty much it. I hope it explains the situation a bit more. Activity should be back to more or less normal when this is all finished. I'll hopefully have time for personal projects too.
I hope all of you are doing well!

Re-arranged gallery
Posted 5 years agoHello!
Yes, as I said in the title, I'be been doing a small re arrangement of my gallery. If there's any pieces that you like that you don't see in it, don't worry, nothing was deleted! Just check scraps or any of the gallery folders :)
I will be updating my ToS too... which I should have done a few months ago, but kept postponing in favor of finishing commissions... guh.
How are you doing, by the way?

Hello. Yes, I am still active.
Posted 5 years ago'Sup guys? Yes, I am still here. I apologize for the lack of posting of new pictures and sketches, I should have some stuff ready soon-ish, but for now I am still working on pending stuff that I had. In fact, the queue is now almost empty. The reason I am not finishing them very quickly is because these projects are rather long, but (thankfully) everything is progressing smoothly c:
Now, about how everything is going around here. I can't complain. It feels good to be able to afford basic things like food, medication, tools and anything you might need without restrictions, taxes, devaluation and other fun things my old country had. In that aspect, I am really happy.
However, in terms of social life... I am rather alone at the moment. I have my husband and a couple of friends that I talk to on a daily basis, and I am eternally grateful for it, but I used to talk to a lot more people before, be it friends or groups. Most of these people have either drifted away or "unmasked" and shown an ugly side of them that I'd rather not see, forcing me to back off and it's not a pleasant feeling, to see everyone you once knew and spent time with disappearing one by one, and if someone remains... well... it's usually only me the one that initiates and it can get very tiring. Not to mention, it can also get tiring to try to share games, music or anything with them and nothing you show interests them. I often find myself alone with my interests, my problems, my art and everything else. I find myself in the role of listener way too often though... that can get tiring too if you're the only one that listens, haha.
Anyway, sorry about that little rant. Now that that's out of the way, how are you?

How's everyone doing today?
Posted 5 years agoYes, I am still around. I haven't posted a journal until now because I have no idea what to post about. There's nothing new going on aside from the usual, so I try to avoid boring you all with that stuff :B
The queue is now even smaller. During this time I finished two large projects and I am in the process of completing a third one. So... yes. Lots of progress and delivering of arts!
How about you? What's up?

Slight gallery update (edit)
Posted 5 years agoHello people! I think it would be fair to let you know that I will, at some point these days, go through my gallery and remove some art, either super old or things I don't like as much (sucks that there's no "storage" option or a featured folder to show what you want).
If any piece you commissioned is removed, don't take it to heart. I always do a cleanup after a couple of years. Feel free to re-upload anything to your own gallery though, I do welcome that! (with credits, obviously).
Edit: I will be listening to you and move the old/less liked stuff to scraps instead, so they will be hidden, but you can still view it if you want. I will also be uploading a lot of "new" pictures there, which is mostly small sketches I've been making from time to time. Someone has been encouraging me to show them instead of leaving them in a pile gathering cobwebs.

Advice?
Posted 5 years agoHello guys! I wanted to ask you something.
What would you do if a person that paid you for a project either disappeared or blocked you leaving you unable to continue? I had these two things happen recently and I am debating on what to do.
The first case is someone that paid and poofed out of existance 2 years ago, no idea where they are to be able to ask them what they want.
The second case is someone who I was working for on a comic project. I had inked a number of pages, they paid for more, but due to a uh.... misunderstanding, they blocked me and left, without telling me how to continue.
I was thinking of adding a line including this on my ToS... but I am not sure what exactly. Should I even wait or scrap these projects?

h0i, what's up?
Posted 5 years agoI have been thinking about my art, both nowadays and in the past, and my husband suggested me to return to something more "common" and "tame" (well, tame as I can be). Mostly due to my gallery being filled with "questionable material" for the most part and an overabundance of it might scare people away or get them to think I solely make that type of art.
That's why I was considering trying to expand horizons and making more personal art instead of mostly commissions as it's been as of lately (NOT closing commissions, just clarifying!) and also trying out some lighter kinks (like growth, fats, bulk related, pinup, idk). Would anyone be interested in seeing this stuff? I would like to have an opportunity to practice and try, but I'm still insecure when it comes to art, so the input of others would be helpful here.
Let me know what you think!

The ways of life, eh? (vent)
Posted 5 years agoI've always disliked the concept of keeping most interactions as business only. I mean, when I am hired and I draw for someone (even if paid to do so) I semi-enjoy talking to them to a degree, they're human after all.
I don't like the concept of the super serious artist that sees others as cold superficial work possibilities and nothing more. Those who pay you to do art have as much of a life as the artist that provides that service, buuut.... some people are really tiring me in terms of being friendly. Everytime I get to know someone beyond business, they think it's ok to take advantage of it in some way.
Yeah, customers are human and should be treated as such, but I would kinda expect the same courtesy from them. I am not an art dispenser that you just "own" and get to use whenever you want. I am not a psychologist or a doormat, you're not entitled to an instant answer from me when you send me a message and you have no right to lash out because I did not respond yet. I can't fix your life issues and I will not walk on eggshells around you because you were hurt in the past. I am not at anyone's disposition 24/7 and it;s especially upsetting that some people think that it's ok to treat me this way just because they paid me. You're literally just paying for a drawing, not buying a person for yourself.
I am slowly losing motivation in engaging in more than just business because this is happening too much and too often. And it's sad. I guess I'm still naive and hopeful to a degree, thinking that being friendly will be met with well... more friendliness. But so far, whenever I lend a hand, they grab my entire arm and sink me into the lake as well, and it's becoming tiresome.
Guess I'm starting to understand why a lot of paid artists are this way. Not everyone is out to take advantage of you and people as a whole are not this way, but you can not be sure who is who, so better be wary of everyone equally, right? It sucks.
Sorry for the semi-long venting. I had a number of conflicts of this caliber, all in one week, all of them for similar reasons. Maybe I'm being too sensitive, but it does get frustrating after a while.

A much needed update and pricelist
Posted 5 years agoHello, people!
Some (or many) of you might have noticed that my page looks a tad different. Basically, due to some unfortunate bad experiences I've had, especially lately, I've worked on a proper ToS and other info. Some of it was previously in my front page, but I decided to change it a bit and put it all in one neatly orderly journal for your convenience.
I still want to paste a pixely image like the bananas I had, but I forgot how I got that to work :c
And following the advice of several people, including customers, I've changed my pricelist and fees. I plan on offering other commission types too, like A3 sized, but that's for another time!
If you notice something else or want to ask me a question, feel free.
I'm also bracing myself for the backlash and guilt tripping from a few individuals due to the change in prices... ugh...

I... can't believe I need to clarify this.
Posted 5 years ago... But I'm going to have to, again, given the circumstances.
I am coming across an alarming number of people that think I can use layers or "CTRL + Z" on paper and pencil. I am not sure what to think of this. Am I really stuck in the stone age? Is this normal?
In any case, no, I can not "edit" a picture to remove or add major details once it's finished. That's what a preliminary sketch is for. If my sketch is approved, I will advance to ink and color, and if there's a mistake I am not aware of, I can not fix it once the picture is complete.
I've been able to fix minor things before, with paint or even digitally, I mean... it is possible in some cases. However, me mentioning this does not equal that someone can demand a major edit (adding bodyparts or changing color of something, for example) at the ending of it because that is impossible.
At last... Generally I use pencils for coloring, a box of 48 for the moment. When it comes to unusual colors, I either try mixing colors or use what is the closest to the references I'm given. I can not do a lot more here. And i... definitely can not change all the color once I painted a piece. And no, I can not "go to the color layer and erase it then recolor it".
I don't intend to be condescending, but I can't believe that people tell me these things. Thankfully it does not happen often, but it happens more times than I am comfortable admiting. I even thought of putting a disclaimer on my front page, but wouldn't that sound absolutely silly?
On a different note, I want to clarify something as well. If anyone aside from myself tells you that I am not available for commissions, busy, full, etc. please ignore it and come to ask me directly.
That's all folks!

I am here, but still no PC
Posted 6 years agoHello everyone! We arrived to Lithuania on the 19th, it went well despite a stomach bug I caught somewhere in the trip that had me in bed for a week or so....... :D Aaaanyway, I still have no computer, this is my mate's and I am borrowing it just to type this.
I've been working on a few things these past couple of days while we get the needed stuff for my workplace. I had absolutely no way to reply to notes for the aforementioned reasons, I apoligize for that. I should (hopefully) have everything ready next week.
This is all for now, I'll write a little more when I get the chance!

Moving and no PC
Posted 6 years agoHello, people!
As I said about a month ago, I will be moving out of the country on the 17th. Tomorrow they will be taking my computer, electronics and other items to send to the new place. It's far, it will take time. I'd say... a month or so (maybe a little more).
Obviously I can not post art or talk to anyone until then. I'll work on pictures as we wait for the departure date, but yeah... no posting or pretty much anything :/
I'll make a journal when I get the PC back, though... so stay tuned :D

Some news, if you wanna hear :)
Posted 6 years agoAfter many expenses, stress and paperwork, we finally have the tickets for the travel, on October 17th. Needless to say, I will be offline for a while while we move and transport the electronics (I'll make a proper journal about it though, but later), not to mention I will most likely be dead as fak from he trip and full of anxiety from being in a completely alien territory.
Thanks to the people that donated some money for some of these expenses, everything's in order for the moment and I'll be working on coms until the day of the trip comes.
Not gonna lie, I am scared as heck about it.

Updates
Posted 7 years agoHello, people. It's Chilla talking now. It's been a crappy week so far, in terms of health.
Long story short, shoulder area majorly flared up, ended up in agony and now I can't feel my right hand/forearm. Had a number of injections, medications, to no avail so far. Strenght in that arm also diminished a lot. No idea when it's going to recover.
I thought of offering art packs to cover up medication expenses, but I already have a lot on my plate and idfk what to do :1 I mean, the number of things to do is not the issue, the issue is how long it'd take to finish considering the state my hand is. Urrrgh.

Sudden developments
Posted 7 years agoGood morning/day/afternoon/night,
This is Chilla´s husband writting, hope you´re all having a decent day. With great regret, I have to inform that wife is currently completely bedbound due to a sudden burst of shoulder/arm pain. We assume it´s related to a nerve being constantly damaged and/or pressed by the shoulderblade, but no real answers so far. I cannot imagine her agony at the moment, but even now she´s twisting and grunting from even the slightest movements.
While we are currently trying to resolve this issue, despite incompetences from the health insurances and her family, it goes without saying, that she will not be able to perform any work in these days to come, and, being how she is, she is incredibly self-cautious and torn up about it. So, if possible, all she needs now, is understanding and patience. As she said in her Profile post, she *always* finishes the work she owes, even if it takes a while. Goes without saying, but doesn´t hurt to reitterate.
In any case, pardon for the lenthy, and rather depressing, post. I will be certain to keep her company and inform her of any notes accordingly, including keeping track of her health development and updating her journal here as necessary (being her primary working place). If anyone has any advice in regards to how this complication could be resolved, any assistance would be encouraged. Thank you for your attention, and take care.

Back home
Posted 11 years agoAs the title says, I was sent back home yesterday. I seem to be getting better, still have some difficulty walking on my own and my shoulder hurts like hell at times. I'm medicated with a bunch of painkillers and corticoids. I still have tests to do also.
I'll start again with the commissions, fortunatelly. I have all of my works here waiting for me. I'm sorry for this sudden problem, let's hope things improve now.
I also have finished commissions to post. I'll be uploading them soon.

Posted 11 years agoI thought it was time for an update.
I am still here in the clinic. There's some improvement, I can walk better and I'm receiving medication orally now, instead through needles and tubes.
The problem arises in the morning though. I get severe pains after waking up and it takes a long time to sit and stand up. This problem has ups and downs, they told me.
Blood tests are possitive, nothing bad was found. Now I have to get my bones checked.
I'll write again when I have anything new going on.

Posted 11 years agoHello people.
I'm using my laptop to type this, since I'm not home. I'm currently at a medical center under treatment. My injury was more than just a hand. I've got joint pains and inflammed joints, this makes everything difficult as heck. I'm using a walker to help myself move and I'm given painkillers via some apparatus connected to me, not sure what its english name is. My condition is not serious, but they have yet to find a good medicine to keep the pain at bay.
I promise to go back to working on your pictures as soon as I get out of here. I shall keep you all updated. I'm awfully sorry for this inconvenience.

Hey people, I have some news
Posted 11 years agoI'm currently working on your commissions, however... I got ill a couple of days ago, and, on top of that, I've gotten an injured right hand. But do not fret. I've trained my left hand in case of a situation like this, so I will keep working, I'm not going to let you down. I'll just be slower, but nothing more.
I thought I should inform you all :)

Frequently Asked Questions
Posted 11 years agoHere's a bunch of questions I am asked often, as well as some I was asked... not so often. I figured it would be a good way to get to know me, maybe? Well, if you're interested in doing so!
1. Why do you draw the things you draw? (regarding personal art)
Because what I draw reflects a big part of my mental state and mood, it also helps me vent and express myself. It can be really helpful, especially when you're not very good with words.
2. Which materials do you use to draw?
A4 paper, pencils, acrylic paint and markers. Those are my main tools. At times I've drawn on bigger papers and even digital media, but I am not that good with the tablet, that's why I don't use it that much.
3. Do you do other things aside from drawing?
Yes! I can sculpt with Epoxi and I like painting little models from tabletop games like Warhammer. I used to actually sell my sculptures, but it's mostly a hobby now a days.
4. What do you like to do aside from art and crafts?
I play some video games on PC, watch videos and listen to music. I don't like traveling or outdoors activities in general.
5. If you don't go out a lot, then how do you socialize? Are you an introvert?
I honestly don't know if I am a complete introvert, because I still enjoy talking to people, but I am very selective with who I speak and connect with due to bad experiences in the past.
I do my socializing on the internet mostly, which I am aware is not the same as directly in person, but it's the most comfortable option. It's also a lot easier for me to open up by writing than by speaking face to face. I did get to meet many of my friends in person, though! Heck, I even married one xD
6. Will you be my friend? Will you add me to messenger/social media?
Like I said, I like to choose who I speak to and the things I open up about instead of being forcefully shoved into groups and interactions. That can be anxiety-inducing and awkward.
While I am more than happy to talk to you on notes and comments , I'd rather not commit to speaking real-time on messenger and calling it a friendship until some time has passed and some trust has been built.
7. Do you offer trades or free art?
By default, no. I enjoy making art for people at times, but by my own choice and by surprise not by request. Asking for free art from me usually makes me not want to make it at all.
When it comes to trades, I tend to do this with certain people with who I've built some trust. Not just that, but I also prefer to approach people myself if I want to do some trading.
8. Why is your fursona (Chilla) a small kid?
This has to do with my own personality. I am still childish to a degree and a part of me has not grown up and refuses to do so. I figured it would be more relatable if my fursona/mascot reflected it.
9. Can I draw your character/s?
Of course! I appreciate and value every single piece of gift art people have made me. The only small thing I would request, though... is to please not draw fetish/sexual art of them, unless the character you want to draw is indeed a fetish or sexual character. I know it sounds really dumb to be clarifying this stuff, but uh... past experience has shown me that not many people have common sense.
10. Want to roleplay with me?
Sorry, I've stopped doing this many years ago. I have nothing against the people that do, though!
11. Can I re-post your artwork?
Yes, just as long as you credit and link to my page. You're free to upload any commissions I've made for you too if you wish!
12. I have a question not listed here yet.
If you do, then send me a note and ask. I don't bite c;

Well, hello there c:
Posted 13 years agoI finally moved in this site as well.
I won't be moving my entire gallery though. I've had enough work doing that on Devart. I shall be posting new artwork as soon as I have the time.
