Suit duplication without consent
Posted 13 years agoAn American guy contacted me to say he loved my suit, it was the "perfect" wolf, and he was going to have it duplicated. I asked him not to, as it was my Character and special to me, but he insist he will, and has downloaded my ref sheets. I contacted all the suit builders I know, but there are so many, I suspect the big builders wont copy from pictures, but there are hundreds of smaller builders out there, and in the US, I'd never reach them all. As he has not actually done anything yet, I cant go legal, and besides, it would cost tens of thousands to try and stop someone overseas, and if I recall, a greater than five percent change in an item constitutes a new item, so if he changed one colour and the eyes, it would be a new suit... so design copyright probably wont help.
Just passing it on, there are some idiots out there who have no creative talent to design their own character, they have to steal others.
