So I've decided to create a Trello account to keep track of all my commissions not just from FA but from Facebook and other social medias as well. This way they're all together in one place! I can stay organized and commissioners will see what my queue looks like, where they are in the queue, and checklists for progress.

Hey all! Sorry for my slowness again, it's been a mix of my job and people/tasks demanding my attention moreso than usual. So I've been feeling incredibly exhausted the past couple of months. ;n;
Thus I've been in an art rut for awhile but I've dug myself out of it and got back into the swing of things!

So about Photoshop!
I've been successfully working on my new desktop, everything is functional EXCEPT for Photoshop (which is what I use for a number of tools, effects, and text) the disc I used for CS5 cannot allow anymore installations. So I discovered Adobe is now offering a Cloud Service and you pay a monthly or annual subscription fee to use their art programs. B(
I can't say I'm thrilled about that idea using a Cloud for something artists need every day.
I want to know has anyone paid for a subscription yet? I downloaded a free trial (for only 7 days? Really??) and I do like it, works just fine. I'm considering buying the 1 year package of PS and a thing called Light Room (The Photographer bundle). It's the cheapest of the bundles, I'm curious why the Photographer bundle is cheaper than subscribing to Photoshop itself?
I really need Photoshop for the work I do, I'll be buying the subscription soon but I wanted to know first what anyone else thinks of this?
(And no I don't want to pirate Photoshop because a wise old friend said there is coding in the photoshop files that will reveal the program I have is pirated, and if I were to finish a professional project for a business/company, they could get in trouble and so will I. ;-; )


As for Projects!
Everything on this queue list below is NOT my entire to-do list.. >_> As I've said before there are a couple private projects for clients I've been working on, and I'll be honest it's really hard for me to say 'no' to someone who approaches me asking for art even if I'm technically closed to accept more commissions. I really hate turning people away or disappointing anyone, it's a problem, then when I accept more I get overwhelmed with work.
I need to do better and limit the amount of work I need to get done for every load, or I'll shut down and have to deal with art block.
To get out of it I try to just draw anything, without trying, it can be stupid things, it doesn't have to look like anything, just so I can rekindle the motivation to work on art again.
Sometimes all I need is a break for a few days, maybe a week, and recharge my batteries. =)
I can't tell you enough how thankful I am to have understanding clients, you've all been so patient and believe me the art blocks and art ruts are beyond frustrating. I'm slowly tackling each project one by one!
If you have any concerns about your commission just send me a note and I will happily answer your questions!

In regards to my next commission opening I honestly don't know for sure right now, but do keep in mind when I reopen I'm going to take less slots because it will help me feel less overwhelmed and I should get them done faster!

I still need to transfer some files and install more software like Photoshop on here, so hopefully soon I'll have everything I need! I already have Sai and my Tablet driver installed so I can get right back to work on commissions! Thank you all for being so patient with me I'm sorry for taking this long to get everything set up. Once again my laptop is acting up but this time I can't get it to boot up at all :(

Hopefully I can get it fixed by this weekend if not replace it. I knew it was a matter of time and I kept putting it off so now I'm paying for it. >_<
Not to worry though commissions will not be delayed for long, I'll see about buying a new laptop this weekend and get the old one fixed so I can grab some files off of there. Thankfully I have backed up a majority of my files last week.
Earlier this year I did mention I'd get myself a desktop but I was advised to wait until I save more money as it was a big investment. Plus I was still on the fence whether to get a really good laptop or a really good desktop. >.<

I apologize for the delay this all just happened last night and I'm trying to take care of it asap.

Hey guys good news! After many scans, driver/amd updates, and crying I FINALLY got my laptop in working order again! I decided to do a system restore one more time (selecting an older date on the list this time) and now it can finally open sai again!! I don't know how or why that worked but I'm glad it did, you've no idea how happy I am. ToT

So now I'm looking into getting a new desktop computer built soon! was so kind to help me decide what I'll need and where I can find parts for the computer, so it should run smooth and last a good long time!


I'm going to reopen for COMMISSIONS soon so I can afford the new desktop, and be able to draw on it (especially in case my laptop goes on the fritz again). TuT

Look out for my next journal! I'm going to add another commission option that I'm willing to take on! It's handmade and cute, you'll see in my next art post. :3

Agh bad news dudes, my laptop suddenly decided it won't run Sai anymore. I thought it was a virus messing with my programs so I did 2 full scans with different antivirus programs and found nothing. Then things spiraled down from there and my laptop didn't want to run properly at all... I had a friend help me out and do a system restore. Although my laptop can function properly again, Sai still refuses to run. We think it might be a hard drive issue, I've tried everything to get it to run again.

Seeing that my laptop is almost 6 years old now, I think it's time to retire the old girl and get a new laptop. All you techy fuzzbutts out there lend me your wisdom!! What kind of laptop do you think I should get? I need a laptop that can run games and programs, and hold a lot of memory.
I've been using this HP Paviilion dv6 and it has served me well for the most part. I think I'd like to try something that's not an HP but I'm not picky, HPs are fine! I just think I should try something new but feel free to suggest any HP laptops you'd recommend.

So with that I'm afraid art commissions will be on hold until I get a new working laptop, I'm really sorry you guys. I'm very upset and disappointed that I can't complete any artwork right now. =(
I'm hoping to get the new laptop asap, but I need to take the time to find the right one that can fit my needs!

A lot has happened this year and definitely knocked the last couple years out of the park! I've graduated college, was invited as Guest of Honor for GFM, got a new and better job, went to my first Comicon, and got to travel more to visit friends!

I hope everyone else has had a good year as well!

I've been feeling much better lately, the weight that's been keeping me down is lifting. I physically feel lighter, it's amazing. ;u;

So far progress on art is going well! I want to thank my commissioners again for being so patient with me. You will not be disappointed!

Hey gang, just a quick update on how things are going.

It's been a really stressful couple of months mostly because of work at the jewelry store. Long story short everyone has a sales goal each month and I'm struggling to reach mine. Even though I'm doing great in all other aspects of my job, corporate only cares about numbers. :/

So it's been getting difficult to keep my spirits up this season. I noticed my health isn't doing well either (mental and physical). I've been fighting a tooth infection since October and I can't take action until next year rolls around because we can't afford it at this time. I'll be seeing an oral surgeon as soon as possible. It's hard to believe but I still have a baby tooth in my bottom jaw. An adult tooth never developed so it just stayed put this whole time. Now the roots of this tooth are pretty much gone so it's a dead tooth. It'll have to be removed and I'll need an implant to replace it (our insurance doesn't cover the procedure).
Until then I'm taking antibiotics to fight the infection.

I hate to bring this up again, but because of the season and the holiday stress, my depression has been kicking my butt again. I think if I just be honest and get it off my chest it should help me feel better. I've been procrastinating to write this journal mostly because I feel ashamed.
I just don't want anyone to think I'm using 'depression' as an excuse or for attention. I can't express how disappointed I am in myself, because when I get this way it's a real struggle to get any work done. When I don't get work done, I let myself and others down. I don't deserve your kindness and patience. I hate making anyone wait so long on their commissions but I can assure you it'll be worth it in the end.
Right now it's like pushing a boulder up a steep hill and it keeps sliding back down.
I'm not giving up, eventually that boulder will reach the top and roll to the other side.

It warms my heart when people want art from me, it truly does. <:')

I'll be rooming and traveling with and along with her friend and mate, and we're staying at the Crowne Plaza. I'm only bringing one suit (Roxy of course). I'll mostly be walking around in suit just playing it by ear, so hopefully you'll cross paths with me! Pictures are always welcome, if out of suit I don't really mind but I might not look my best (my skin tends to break out when I suit). -u-

If you want to hang out don't take it personal if I decline. It really depends on what I may already have planned and how I feel that day. There are a lot of people who I know will be there and I want to try and see everyone! ;u;

Afternoon my friends, I just wanna be real with you right now and explain what's goin' on with me as best I can~

I feel absolutely terrible for taking so long with commissions. I really don't like making you guys wait because you all have been great and supportive of me. I'm worried I'm getting worse finishing things in a timely manner though. It's not easy to explain but it's like sometimes my ability and confidence wavers. I'll accept a commission, then I won't feel confident I can do it just yet for awhile, but eventually I'll kick into high gear and finish it no problem. Sometimes it's an emotional issue, or I start doing too much at once and I burn out. @.@
I'm trying to keep it under control and organize my work balance. With my part time job I have time to myself to finish commissions or my own personal projects, but sometimes work will wear me out and I feel too tired to draw. Which sucks because I still feel motivated to work on art. The spirit is willing. XD

Another problem I've noticed about myself is communication. When it comes to responding to notes/messages, at times I just forget to reply, and sometimes I put it off in worry that I'm not ready to say anything just yet. I know it's a really stupid reason and not a good excuse at all.
But please if anyone has concerns or wants to know what's going on with your commission you can note me. You have the right to know. I do update my journal list under "Commission Slots" so take a peak, and if that's not good enough you can message me.
I have NEVER had a bad experience with you guys. You've always been so kind and patient to me, and I am really sorry for being this way.

I wanted to explain myself because my poor communication is a mix of fear/anxiety, and at times I have it under control but I don't think it'll ever really be fixed.

Lastly I'm going to try working on more serious art. I need to strengthen my portfolio, but also having personal work with 'substance' to fall back on (comics, animations, made for merch, etc). As well as getting my butt into a studio where I can work with other creative people be it for a game or a cartoon show. ;u;

So good news I really love my new job! It's low stress and easy work! Plus I really like my manager and coworkers we all get along great. =D
I've been doing very well making sales and I already reached my goal for the month! We get a little extra money when we reach individual employee sales goals. I hope we reach the monthly goal for the store because that means big bonuses (which I'll really need TuT).

Still aiming for art gigs though, I need to get cracking on my portfolio and become active on some art forums/communities to get connections. ;n;

I really had an amazing time last year so me and my buddies planned to go again for 2015 and this time our group has grown larger. We have a couple youngin's who haven't been to this con before so it'll be a real treat for them!

I'm not gonna do a con meme this time, I think ya'll have grown tired of seeing those by now so I'll just give you the basics. XD

I lost track of time and for that I'm deeply sorry for taking longer with commissions than I already am, but they are surely getting done!

Furthermore I have some good news! I've been given a part-time job at a local jewelry store (which I severely needed) and it's all thanks to my roommate who's been working there for awhile now. ;u;
The manager is very nice and understanding so I'm looking forward to starting my training. =D

This should not interfere with my art since it is part time and I told them I was okay with working minimal hours. HOWEVER I've been considering taking a hiatus from accepting anymore commissions, mostly so I can focus on my own projects and develop my art portfolio for art gigs.
The thing is I still enjoy working on art for you guys, so I'm going to decide on the middle ground here.

I will accept commissions but only a couple at a time and they'll be few and far between. Keep an eye on my profile page and see if the "Commissions" status says OPENED or CLOSED. I will also announce in journals when I'm open to accept more. =)

First things first I want to thank you all for commissioning me! it's really helped me out a ton, you've no idea. ;u;

Second, as far as conventions go I can only afford to attend RMFC and MFF this year. I am currently job hunting so I can save, and that also means looking for opportunities to start my career working for studios. There's a lot of competition out there now so I want to keep working on my portfolio and make new demo reels.
Starting next year I'm going to try to take it easy on con-going. I really want to pursue my goals. =)

I'm happy to say that Gateway Furmeet has been a success! The staff have been amazing and welcoming, they worked very hard for this con. =)

It was a great experience meeting new people and hanging with old friends. =D

Next year we're hoping to get this con more known and expand. Any and all support is much appreciated!

With all that craziness done I'm going back to the commissions I had to put on hold!

First I want to talk about the GFM badges, I have been asked if people could get a badge like these after the con. Now I wanted to make these a GFM exclusive badge and will only make them for people who have attended the con.
SO IF YOU WENT TO GFM AND WOULD LIKE A ZILLA BADGE, please show me a picture of your GFM attendee badge and I will make a zilla badge for you! It'll be the same price of $20 which will include the shipping.
Please send me a note with a link to a photo of your attendee badge and we'll take it from there. =)


Those of you who have been very patient while I had your commissions on hold, I'll be picking back up on them this week so expect to see a note from me showing WIP's.

I'll also be accepting some more slots after getting some of the current queue done first, but it will be VERY limited. You'll see a journal announcement when I open so keep an eye out!

I will have your badges with me at all times! Just tell me the name of your character you had me draw and I'll happily give it to you. =)
You can call me by Roxy's name or my FA name Clawshawt (claw-shot) to get my attention.

Don't be afraid to ask for hugs whether I'm in or out of suit! If I'm in suit and it looks like I'm in a hurry that means I'm either heading to my room or to the headless lounge to cool off, OR I have to get ready for a panel. Please understand if I can't stop to talk. ;u;

You'll have plenty of chances to see me and talk to me! I'll be hosting 4 panels and I'll be in the fursuit parade. \^.^/
