Okay, okay!
Posted 14 years agoSo, I have power. I'm also moving. I'm also doing Over-Time at work.
I see I have notes I'll have to get to, I'll get to them when I get back from work.
I don't know if I'll have much time for art, but I'll try.

Next Batch to be...

I have a few other things to finish first, of course. I went away over the weekend to LARP, so I didn't get as much done then as I wanted.

Badges, Birthday, Bad Stuff
Posted 14 years agoHi! My birthday is this Friday, (the 15th,) I just thought I'd mention that to start.
Nyss has already given me the gift of gaming with the legendary Blood Bowl. My undead team's been "killing" the competition.
Aside from that, we're having painful issues with the bills lately. It's probably that money I put towards AC... but no matter! I want to make it there, as I want to do other things, you see.
So, I'm offering to do badges for AC or FAU4, since I'll be at both. I can do the badges is anime, chibi, or feral styles, and the setup of the badge is yours to decide!
Anime Style Examples:
Human: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5495075
Anthro: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3429270 - (This one's fairly old. However, my mate says it's her favorite.)
Chibi Style Examples:
Human: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5459326
Anthro: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5500058
Feral Style Example:
Dragon: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5312877/
If you just want a colored up badge that I would send to you via the interwebs and you'd print it out and do whatever for your own, then that's just $4! You can choose the layout, where you want the name and everything, and you can even do it while I livestream the making of it. So you can yell at me WHILE I progress on it, rather than later. Of course, that bit's optional, if you don't join a stream, I'll happily send updates as it moves along.
From the same process, if you want me to put it on card-stock and laminate it and bring it to the con for you, it'll be $10 total. This price stays the same if you want it sent to you via mail instead. I'll still send you a digital copy of course.
BADGE examples:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5574098/
I'll post more as badges are made.
Also, there can be a small extra charge for characters with difficult bits, (ultra-feathery wings, awesomely detailed apparel, etc...) Though the price of the badge will NEVER exceed $15 unless there are more than one character.

That Iron Artist Thing
Posted 15 years agoNow that I got the tablet, I was thinking about hopping on the whole "Iron Artist" 100 sketches thing. You've all heard of it, right? Give someone $2 and they'll do a sketch of your character?
Well, mine would be fairly simple, just as the norm. $2, single character, 100 slots. Poses, etc, no problem. Additional characters may make it $4, or $5, depending on what they're doing.
The do's and don't list is the same as my Usual Commissions.
My PayPal info is ClawsofSlash@aol.com... a~nd, here we are:
Batch 1:
1: Nellie-Owl - "Elf" Loading, please wait... 60%
2: Kiatsu - "Waterbending" Waiting to Hear Back... 90%
3: Kiatsu - "Dragon/Sune" Queued

Commission Information
Posted 15 years agoWell, since a Scanner is on the way, I don't need to keep a fundraiser going, but I'll still offer the commissions. I'll have up to 4 slots going, then. They can take anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks, depending on complexity and my own time restraints.
Slots: Currently Open
Single Character Sketch - No B/G = $2
Examples - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5608652/ / http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4188856 / http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4188832
Add Sketch Background = +$1
Example - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4454899
Single Character Digital Ink - No B/G - Submitted as JPG, sent to commissioner as transparent PNG if they want someone else to color it. = $4
Examples - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3417024/ / http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3458571/
Single Character w/color and no or crude background = $6
Examples - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5582149 / http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5495075/ / (NSFW) http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5021504/ / http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5459326/
Looking to go beyond a single character? Just add 50%, but price may vary at that point, especially if there's only part of another character, which might only make it like... +20%.
A background? Oh, background attempts are included as I see fit. I'm not advanced with areas... characters are my current point of focus.
Any naughtiness or adult material will be submitted on my adult account;
Ieo, which has a drasticly small amount of art.

Are their any limits on poses and outfits? Well, as you can see, most of my figures do not wear too much, and some of them are equipped.
I'm not so good on excessive fluid, but otherwise I have very few moral limits. If my level of skill prohibits your request I will let you know.
I do, however, have something against drawing fan art. Don't ask... but the characters I draw will always have to be original...

Please Help?
Posted 15 years agoSee, here's the situation. I've got quite a few pictures ready, and at least two requests I want to finish... but I don't have a scanner anymore.
What happened is that we - me and
stakie - moved into a new apartment, and moving is expensive enough as it is. The scanner I had been using broke, and that explains that.
However, due to financial issues of mine and hers, I haven't been able to get a new one. So, in an effort to get these things done and afford a scanner, I would like to offer commissions.

Now, I figure a scanner would only be about $20 on eBay, so if I could get a few commissions, I could have one shortly and have the commissions up and scanned fairly quickly.

Job!
Posted 16 years agoYay, I got a new job! A job with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, even! It's a fairly well-paying job for not needing much experience, and that makes me happy.
Anyway, I'm selling cell-shaded icons for $3 if anyone wants one commissioned. Just have some references for your character, and I can doodle up something like what I did for Kufky or Stakie. (I might even go lower depending on who you are. ;p)

Commissions, please...?
Posted 16 years agoI'm low on money after a recent splurge I ended up going on, (but so TOTALLY worth it.) Unfortunately, that means I probably won't make bills this coming month, which is making my mate sad.
Please, I know my sketches kinda suck, but if you commission me for one, I'll only charge $5.
Examples:

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2944648

Plus, if you want it inked, I'll only charge $10, (total, not additional.) Inking would easily set it up for someone else to color without a problem, I'd assume:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2520358/
I'd offer colored too, but I haven't learned how to color properly yet.
Anyway, this is me pleading... Please?

In Loving Memory...
Posted 16 years agoToday I've lost a family member... True, I only knew her for a year, but she was absolutely one of the best pets I've had.
She may've been a little pirate, bandit, thief, whatever you want to call her, but she was my girl.
"Lori" Murray died today, taken by a somewhat common affliction in rats - lung cancer. Yet, what is it to die if you have not done things to make sure other people never forget?
From the time she dragged a balled up sandwich wrapper from BK all the way across the room to her cage, then went back for the empty fry container, to the numerous times I found her dragging birdseed packets into her little den of collectables. I'll never forget my girl, and I'm sure neither will her sister.
I'll see you again someday, Lori...

Stories Vs Pictures
Posted 16 years agoI have, over the years, noticed the huge difference in popularity between pictures and stories. I've got many theories on these, but I'm fairly sure I understand a few points.
1: Stories are usually written in a single language. To read that, you would have to know that language, (and the larger the vocabulary of the writer, the more you need to know.) Pictures, however, don't need spoken words to tell their story.
2: Stories take longer to read than pictures take to look at. Not everyone has time to sit down for a chapter, but plenty of people can take a peak at a picture.
3: Generally, a good artist can make a character sketch much quicker than a good writer can make a short story. Now, personally, I can dump out a short story or a chapter in an hour, but my typing speed is damn near 80 wpm, so when I'm concentration, my fingers almost move as fast as my mind does when thinking out a story. That being said, I'm not a practiced artist, but I can sketch a character design in an hour, so in recognization, a fast artist would be much quicker than my writing when it's unedited story vs sketch.
4: When you open a story, you cannot be guarenteed quality. Even from the shelves in a bookstore you can't be sure that it'll have proper grammar anymore. What with the deterioration in English studies, I've opened up a "New York Times Bestseller" and couldn't get past the second chapter because my mind broke from the inappropriate usage in non-speech quotations. Now, that isn't to say that looking at a picture you can't be guarenteed quality... but you can tell much quicker. Where I read for half an hour, I would only have to look at a picture for half a minute, if that.
I'm not sure if I'm arguing against my main trade or not...

Hmmm...
Posted 16 years agoWell, my family line tells me that I should probably take up drawing. I mean, sure, there's a lot of commissions I've bought for myself, but I'd like to learn some technique, myself.
Normally I'd be writing the TwV manual, but I'm getting stuck in a few parts and need a distraction... I guess I want a tablet. That would be cool.

Dangerous Waters...
Posted 16 years agoAlright, for anyone checking out my gallery, you may see some of the interesting commissions that were done for TwV, (you know, the more recent, non-crappy art.) We're coming close to the end of the road on the commissions.
Unfortunately, I'm running out of ideas, and what's worse - my "eternal love" left me over something I found to be pretty silly, and now I'm befuddled, and confused.
So, since we're near the end of the line, I need more character concepts to drop to my artists to draw up. Now, the artists are mostly listed on my DA journal; http://xenozangotta.deviantart.com/journal but a bunch of the species for TwV are in fact furries. We've got canines, felines, rodentia rattus, leporids, rodentia sciurids (squirrels,) reptilia chamaeleonidae, and those strange gronk things...
If you have a character or a character concept for a fairly adventurous being, then check out the journal over on DA. Anything that says its an unfinished class, (mercenary, hydro mage, agent, etc,) is open for considderation for a character. Giving a character concept that we accept will allow you (and your friends,) to purchase signed copies of the rulebook. Which, should the game take off, and I sure as hell hope it does, should gain a bit of value.

RPG Making!
Posted 17 years agoWell, it's time to flex my talents back into the world of gaming. Specifically, RPGs.
Furry-Within.com is working on a new collaboration project, which I've somehow ended up in the middle of. See, I can design games using RPG Maker software, which I used to use in 2002, and made games until the communities went down.
Now, I picked up a copy of RPG Maker VX, and the idea struck me!
A game where furries are the heroes! Aparently, in all of nerd-dom, I have not found any freeware RPGs that star furries.
So, artists... What's a better chance than now? Have you ever wanted to make art for an RPG? Music, bad-guys, good-guys, faces, walking sprites, etc... Whatever. Working your way into this collaboration gives you free right to have your fursona inserted into this game, provided we can assemble an appropriate character graphic.
Gives you the right, doesn't mean you have to.
Send me a note with questions and information. This project may take a little while, but it'll definantly be worth it... and once it's done, you can say; "my art's in that! Play it and see."
