Fall update 2025
Posted a month agoAyo what's shaking?
Just a lil update that I've been doing alright. A bit stress with what's going on in the political sphere, but trying my best to do some self-care. Plus I've working on making some stickers to eventually start selling them somewhere and eventually get a PO box.
Still got a lot on my hands with mainline commissions and keeping up with in-stream comms to pay the bills. While some taking care of myself as well as I can physically do so right now. Also in case anyone is worried, I'm still doing the Torque weight gain sequence, and shared a couple wips over on the blue skeets. Just taking a lot longer because to finish because I've got a lot on my hands on the IRL side of things.
Also working on dergmas and have a form out for anyone who wants to get in this year; https://forms.gle/CVkFsjChp6UPXCVP7. Also trying to get it all sorted and planned on what will be this year's theme, and also getting it started early so I don't work myself to bone.
Also in case I'vent mention it yet, I've been on linux for quiet a long time now. Started back in January this year, and have had little issues besides the usual web browser leaking memory like on windows, and quirks with a drives on a lot of adapters adapters ( SATA>SAS>SATA>M.2). Though the one notable issue so far has been NVIDIA's drivers freezing up, and having to switch to a tty to unfreeze it. So, I plan to switch out the GPU with AMD or Intel since their drivers have better support and don't need some wizardry to run properly and let me play dx12 games. Also playing games have gone quiet well for me with really the only modern game I play being helldivers 2 runs well (dare I say a lot better than on windows).
Would recommend it if you're using krita already or plan to switch to krita in the future. Though if you need something like photoshop/affinity or CSP then you'd have wait a little longer or if you're tech savy enough get a virtual machine setup with windows to use the software. Granted there is WINE and Proton you can use, but won't work for all software (Affinity will work tho which is nice).
Anyways that's the update,
See you around.

Big Berry Surprise
Posted 3 months agoJust uploading the backlog of Juicy July I'ven't gotten around to upload since I've been busy getting it done.
Status update 7th of May
Posted 6 months agoThings have been wild, and so far I'm just holding on hard as I can with how things are going. A general recap is that I've for the most settled into a new place with my folks last month, and so far things haven't imploded yet and I'm just about making rent. I've also started getting a streaming schedule together that a bit more stable, and lot more time to work on things. Plus I think I'm feeling a lot more motivated to upload my art, as I think I was in a bit in a rut for while.
Also if you're curious, I've got a patreon
As well currently open to work on commissions and taking in-stream commissions during my weekday streams.
latter in which you can submit a form to reserve a slot for the next stream.
Also I've started a little hobby of making a little homelab with recycling old pc hardware since I've been needing something physical I can mess around besides art.
Oh and I've been wanting to make some physical prints, alongside some stickers so if anyone interested in seeing anything particular from me, feel free to make a suggestion.

A January update
Posted 9 months agoAyo, celebrated my birthday yesterday, and I'm now 27. Things have for the most part been okay on my end, but I ain't feeling to great about a lot of what's to come this year (and beyond). However, on the bright side I do plan to make some artpacks this year, and try making stickers again. Also plan to switch over to linux this year as well off windows since I've mainly been doing art entirely in Krita, and I'll have a windows laptop on the side in case I need it (all the games I play all work on linux currently as well, so I've got nothing stopping me except very minor bugs in wayland).
End of Year Update
Posted 10 months agoAye its almost the end of 2024! What a busy year it has been. I'd like to say thank you for those who wanted to have their OCs take part in Dergmas this year, and a 7 year adventure for me. Here hope for it going for another 3 years as it'll be a whole decade of drawing dragons.
As for other things, its been pretty intense and busy this year. I'll admit I'm not in a great financial situation(as well living situation) going into the new year, and likely post less art as I look for work so I can some extra money to fix it. I'll keep commissions open in the meantime, and plan to do some reworking to my patreon into the new year. Other than that, this past year been pretty packed with doing a lot of work but also getting to visit some friends early on in the year which did a lot to make feel relaxed (also I got to ride on the train yippe).
Also heads, granted I might start posting less next year, I'll be trying to take sometime to relax in January since I've been pretty stressed and tired the last few months dealing with IRL stuff I'm caught up in.
So Happy New Years, and hope things are mildly better in 2025

oh a quick update on socials
Posted 11 months agoSo pretty much deleted both my sfw and nsfw twitter account last week. I also emptied out my fatfur account of art as well too, and plan to make one big archive download of it. Granted I'll see if I have enough time to make separate downloads of sfw and nsfw stuff.
Won't be using twitter much at all besides maybe the occasional update for comms or stream announcements. Otherwise you can find me here, or on bluesky and tumblr posting art (probably chatting more on bluesky);
groundbyte.bsky.social
greundwork.bsky.social (goddam groundwork was taken by a think tank lol)
groundbit.tumblr.com (fun fact, if you add "/rss" you can get an rss feed when I post. So if you got rss reader you can see post through there. Also putting the whole username handle in bsky does the same)

Posted 12 months agoAye so it's a bit late when I make a post like this, but ya know life comes at you fast. But I'm getting to start working on it, there are slots opens to have your OC take part, and with the usual silly outfits for disguised dragons. You can put your up you OC in the form below, slots are also first come first serve ;

Also trying out this year about seeing getting some volunteers to help me out with the workload, so if you're interested I've got a form setup;

Though feel free to message me here for questions or feedback on the form.

Guess the last move update for a while
Posted a year agoWell some good news and bad news. First the Bad News.
Pretty much got strung along and our move out date been pushed a whole extra month, and likely till the new year at this point, So pretty much had to pack all my stuff (including stuff to keep warm for when the weather starts cooling down). Pretty much a bit annoyed about, but at least there is also a reason, not going into to much detail but its some serious medical stuff with a relative, so not much use about to get upset about it.
Good News tho on the other hand. Should be getting internet back up soon, and would've gotten it earlier if I had the fore knowledge, so I'll be back to streaming again hopefully (and more flexibility to stream at better times). Which I'll be doing to also finish the last few wing-its from last month, and keep wing-it type comms open for the rest of the month (plus continue the 15% discount for Halloween themed comms). As well the Multi-shot YCHs as well.
Also besides the multi-slot, I've also made another YCH weight gain sequence that's up for bid also set in the Sweet Valley Inn if anyone interested in trying to get something bigger.

Crazy PC update
Posted a year agoHad a big brain moment while fiddling with a sim tray opener idly, and used to it straighten some of the bent pins on the old borked cpu. First time since I last did on a socket-able cpu on a laptop a long while ago, and did it by eye (also used my phone camera to verify and couple more fine adjustments). Also cleaned up some thermal compound that had gotten on some other pins on the chip very carefully with some alcohol pads. It smoothly went back into the cpu with little to no issue, and cleaned off the residual thermal compound off the thermal spreader. Now just gonna leave it in there and lets it overnight and a full day to doubly make sure any water has been evaporated as it was 70% isopropyl so don't want to take a chance on any of the 30% sticking around in there.
Will still look to get a new cpu since this one was also on its last legs since I've spotted a burnt spot on one of the pins in the cpu anyways.

lotta updates this month huh?
Posted a year agoSome quick status updates, Still haven't moved yet but I've packed most my stuff up now. Though so far been doing alright so far with all the bills and stuff being thrown my way.
I did do a big oof as I was trying to get some new thermal paste on my cpu and managed to yank the cpu out the slot with how little paste glued onto the cooler I was trying to take off (the gentle tug and twist didn't work cri). However, that wasn't the worse yet as the cpu pins were okay up until I went back to put it back in the slot and slipped, bent like 3 pins and cover 4 in thermal paste since it had a bunch built up on the sides of the heat spreader. Did try to bend the damaged pins back into place but I don't have a flat head screwdriver thin enough to pull it away from the nearby pins there up against. Good news is that I can get a new replacement for the socket, but won't be able to until next month since I've got a lot of other things that are gonna have to come first. Good news tho is that I've at least got two decent old laptops that should be good enough to draw.
tdlr; doing alright, fucked up my main pc's cpu, and won't fix until next month. Otherwise, I've got two janky laptops that suffice.

Posted a year agoWell there some good news and some bad news. Looks like, tho not entirely sure, our move out date was extended. Which is great because there was no plan at all for where to go, and now I've got more time to plan and organize everything.
Unfortunately the bad news is that I've got no internet until we move out, which currently slowing down my ability to send updates and get feedback from clients, and also to a greater extent hampering my ability to contact some clients discord mobile doesn't do account switching. Also the fact I need to use the mobile app is a massive pain. Silver lining tho is that managed to download scrnpy through my phone so I can cast and controly phone through my laptop.
Oh yeah and a downside with using mobile data to do some work is gonna cost a lot as I pay per gb of data used. Hopefully I can get some more work to cover the august bill.
Other than that, I've been holding out decently.

important update: moving house
Posted a year agoSo I'm pretty much a bunch of things happened among my folks that culminated in a family member and I having moving out on short notice, and got till maybe the end of week leave (originally it was a month, but things got worse). So been packing and well trying to figure out where we'll be staying, since I've been kept in the dark on a lot of things while I've been sharing listings for place as I been asked to do.
So commissions are gonna be slow as I pack this week. Also internet been out so sending updates will be slower as I'll have to send then through my phone unless the internet comes back (l though I feel like it's a big if rn).
Tdlr; stuff that I'm not ready to share happened and a family member got kicked out, but not without dragging me a long. So this week gonna be rough, but I'll try to work on comms until the day before we need to leave.

Here's Some pleasent news
Posted a year agoHey so its about that time of year where your neighbors start decorating for christmas, and you know what? I might as well do the same for dergmas, and this time I want to try something a little different. That is to say I think I will try and take in some help this year for Dergmas, and try to ask around if anyone is willing to volunteer this year (be it a post/form or asking any mutual who might be interested).
It's a first for me to do this, but hey, gotta try something new. The rough plan is to split empty slots between either groups of 2 volunteers or a single volunteer. Each person or group can pick what day or days of dergmas they want to draw. I'll assign a group of Dragons OCs from what folks in the community submitted, but give at least half of the empty slots allotted to let volunteers also draw Dragons from their favorite artists (There probably be cases where I'll let some groups pick for all the slots they've been assigned).
Considering they way I've done dergmas for almost 7 years was to draw something nice for friends and artist I loved their works and at the same time at give something nice to random folks in the community. I might as well let volunteers at least do the same if I'm gonna ask for help. The plan is still a bit rough, but that's because I got covid lol and haven't really had much time thinking about it between working on a month long commission, and getting sick. So honestly I'd like to hear some feedback on this plan.
P.S. I feel like I should define this, but "Dragon" as I'd like to define it as something that can be either biped or quadruped, have at least 2 pairs of wings (tho don't go to crazy with em), and at least 1 horn regardless if their is floof or scales on their bodies. Also there are "high end" "top of the line" disguises that would fool even the smartest dragons (just silly cardboard wings and horns, no where in the rules does it say wings and horns have to be perm-) or you can ask to have your character turned into a dragon.

Status Update
Posted a year agoAlright so, quick lil update. Doing alright, as best as I can, getting back into a regular commission grind after being doing a massive juicy july commission.
However, there been a bit of a spanner and that's a family member I've been helping caring for caught covid, and by extension I likely did as well as I also got sick. Granted I don't think I will know 100% since it burned through me on sunday night with the following day of me dealing a cough induced headache, and was the same day I got the covid news. So sitting here still with a cough, that is at least not as bad as it was on sunday, and able to walk around and stand up without my head feeling like it got spun. So good news I was out of it physically for about 2 days (tho it was 1 since I was able to do stuff on sunday with my cough) and recovering with the cough easing up in severity and haven't lost my sense of smell yet either.
Other than that comms will still be open, and gonna do some more in-stream comms as well.
