Commissions
Posted 10 years agoWelp, times are getting tough and so I'm going to make a big leap and start doing commissions. I can only do traditional for right now, I've got colored pencils, including watercolored ones and markers. A simple sketch is $5, additional characters will be an additional $2. A colored sketch will be $10 also additional characters $2, I'm more comfortable with colored pencils since markers are a bit new to me. I'll start out with 5 slots but I'll be at work tonight so it'll be first come first serve. Please provide a reference as well. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I'll try to get back to you ASAP.

Trotcon 2015
Posted 10 years agoSo we went to Trotcon yesterday, it was my second con and first MLP con. It was such a fun experience, I got to meet Brian Drummond and Kelly Sheridan. I took some pictures of some amazing cosplays and I got a commission of Duff and Clover, which I will post later ^^ I know I have mentioned in my last entry that I want to get into doing commissions so I can get better at drawing. I'm a little hesitant and I know I keep using my busy life as a partial excuse but who really wants to buy my art when there's tons of others that are way better than me? I was in a room full of amazing talent yesterday and I was both awed and belittled. I bought a small sketchbook recently so I can carry it with me and draw whenever I get inspired but then I get all meh, why bother? I found an inexpensive digital drawing tablet since everyone prefers digital to traditional anymore. I even found a tumblr page that does a 30 minute art challenge but when I checked it, the most recent post was a year ago :/
Summer is Coming
Posted 11 years agoSo with school coming to an end soon I've been filling out applications for a summer job. It kind of reminds me of high school. I've been tossing around the idea of doing commissions or adoptables as well. I've been tinkering with FireAlpaca and I've come to the realization that digital art isn't for me at the moment. It just feels like everyone wants a digital piece of artwork. Traditional doesn't seem to be as appreciated nowadays. I feel more comfortable with using colored pencils and pastels. So you may see a little more from me in the not too distant future.
Sally
Posted 12 years agoMy dad's Mini Dachshund, Sally, has a cancerous lump on her left hind leg. Now she is like a member of our family, a little sister more like it. She's 9 going on 10, her birthday is October 23rd. She's given birth to four healthy litters of pups and she's a very loving and protective little girl. My dad called me earlier this week thinking that he'd have to put her down and it was very crushing to find that out. He asked me to come with him to the vet since I was with him when he got her. She's dragging her leg but she still has that sparkle in her eyes. That's when my dad decided that it wasn't fair to her to give up on her. Her vet visit this morning went well, she was very well behaved and didn't raise a fuss during her x-rays. Her surgery won't be until late this month or early November. I'm glad that she's getting another chance because I know she's got a few more good years left in her.
Loss
Posted 14 years agoA tragedy occurred in the animal kingdom recently in Zanesville, Ohio. It is about 30 miles from where I live and it still felt close to home and heart. A man released his collection of exotic animals:bears, tigers, lions, monkeys and wolves, before committing suicide. The community's immediate reaction is to shoot and kill these majestic creatures, who were not at fault for their actions. They were acting on instinct, they have never been truly free in their captive lives and as soon as they experience their natural calling they were punished. There was one animal that was a true danger and that was a baboon that was HIV positive and also had rabies. But the others could've been tranquilized humanely and possibly transported to any other zoo in the state. Jack Hannah even said that shooting them was the right thing to do and that surprised me the most because he is a well-know animal lover/supporter. My heart goes out to the animals that didn't have a chance and to those that are still alive and coping. Why must humanity treat their fellow creatures this way? They share our planet with us and as soon as they get in our way apparently the only solution is extermination.
