...really doesn't concern me at all. Every single thing made by the Hostess Foods company was utter garbage anyway. The American diet is better off without Hostess. Hork - I originally meant to post a journal concerning Draw-A-Bird Day this MORNING, but today was chock-full of activity, so no time for goofing around on the internet until now. Among other things, I finally got a job! Now it's time to get down to business - about drawing birds for Draw-A-Bird Day, that is.

Here is the official site for DABD: http://www.dabday.com/ It's really a charming story, about the innocence of children and the desire to create healing and joy in the world. We coud use a little bit more of that, I think.

So, THERE'S STILL TIME!! (I'm going by Pacifc Daylight Time, lol. There's still time for ME, anyway. :>) Draw a bird, peoples! It doesn't have to be good, or super-realistic, just reflective of the spontaneous spirit behind the whole thing, and post it on the DABday site. The Oregon legislature recently adopted a resolution exhorting those of us in this fair state to live by the 'Code of the West'. Sounds awesome, doesn't it? Makes me want to get a sixgun, or something, or get me a horse and learn to ride it, and usin' the phrase "ah reckon" a lot more. Yup.

Apparently, the 'Code of the West' was invented by a Wall Street banker/hedge fund investor (crook, in other words) who all of a sudden thinks he's like, a cowboy.

Now, I know this doesn't really change anything, which is good, but I question the motivation of the bill's sponsors. I also question Mr.Owen: How the FLYING FUCK does a Wall Street banker live by anything even remotely approaching the so-called 'Code of the West'? More like lie, cheat and steal, and you know what we do to people who do that kinda thing around here, pardner. (we re-elect them. Oof.) RIDE FOR THE BRAND! YEEE-HAW! I know, it's just more puffery, and I shouldn't get my britches in a wad about it, but... something about it just makes me twitchy. I'm not real comfortable with this whole nostalgia thing, it seems almost like desperation, wanting to not face the facts.

Every single person shown speaking in the video works or has worked in support of the fossil-fuels industry. They are working through the churches to miseducate people about crucial issues. Big Oil + Big Religion = Big Trouble, as far as I am concerned. This is being promoted in the big suburban megachurches nationwide, and they intend to distribute it to SCHOOLS as well.

Anybody want one? I like to make my own holiday cards with original artwork and send them to friends. Such a quaint tradition, one that is dear to my heart and that I hope shall not fade away.
