Posted 7 years agoOh, I'm glad I was able to finish all of the Black Friday commissions! Again, I apologize for being so late on them but life likes to bite me in the butt sometimes. Even the past week has made me a bit depressed. I don't know why though. Maybe it's the stress of trying to focus on so many works of art in a short time or maybe Twitter drama has gotten me down. That's done now and I only have 3 big comms to work on for some wonderfully patient people!
I said before I'll be seeing my fiance for Christmas and we've decided to start the trip this week! And yes, he does have a tablet and my art program at his house so I'll be able to work on stuff there. I really wish I could have done some holiday art this month but I just didn't have the time. I'm hoping that this trip will clear my mind a bit. Also, I'm bringing my cat!! I can't wait to be surrounded by 4 cats lmao
In terms of daily art, I think I will start it again in January. I wanted to start it again this month but my mind has been too clogged to focus. If I did, I feel like it would show in my art.

Work Delay

I haven't been able to sleep well ever since the kittens left. Not because I miss them (I do though sometimes), but because my cat has been SCREAMING for the past entire week. The day she stopped doing so was yesterday but that still didn't help because I had to be up before 8am today to get her to her neutering/vaccination appointment. I couldn't sleep early so I stayed up and the moment I started feeling tired was when I realized it would be too late to rest without me sleeping through the appointment.
Not only that but I drank some juice yesterday and today and I think it's expired. I almost threw up in the car on my way to the appointment and now I can't find my appetite despite not eating anything today. I have a burger with me but it's cold now because I couldn't decide to eat it or not in case it made me feel even sicker.
I hate that every time I make plans to do a lot of work, I end up having to deal with something unexpected. I apologize to anyone waiting on commissions from me but I'm hoping on getting as much as I can done this week since I need to make plans on when to visit my fiance for Christmas, I can't go too late since I need to get presents while I'm there (my mother won't allow me to buy stuff for him despite it being my money used).

Cat Fundraiser Done!
Posted 7 years agoAhhhh, I have good news guys!!! After looking around, I found a place that vaccinates and sprays cats for low-income families. They do everything for $75 (although I still need to get booster vaccinations)! The only requirement is proof of your family being low-income so I sent in an application and some proof of my family's annual income. Since my mom runs a small sewing store, you can imagine we don't as much compared to other families. I got accepted and I made an appointment to get it done on the 3rd of December! I'm happy that I could get find a way to get my cat vaccinated without draining my bank account. I'm also happy that the kittens have a safe place to stay and I hope that maybe I can visit them again before my trip to see my Fiance.
Thank you, everyone, that helped out by donating and commissioning me! I really do appreciate it and I know I say that in every post I make but it's true. I'm amazed that I get more help from strangers on the Internet than my own family. With your help, I was able to pay for my cat's and kitten's examinations, medicine and healthy food. Posted 7 years ago***An update on the kittens! I emailed the shelter that I mentioned before and they gave a heads up to one of the clinics they're associated with. I'm heading there tomorrow afternoon to hand over the kittens. Ahhh, I'm really sad to see them go but they're too much for me to handle especially since I live in a small apartment-like space. They need more room to explore. I'm happy that I was able to find a safe place for them at least. I'm going to miss all of them but I think I'll miss the little kitty with the single spot on her head the most. She always runs to me when I enter the room and doesn't leave me alone until I pick her up and scratch her head. She's also the quietest kitten.
**Good news!!! After going around to different pet shops, I asked a clerk on where I could send the kittens and they gave me the contact info for a pet food bank that also fosters cats for adoption. I emailed them and they said they would be glad to take all the kittens!!! They also said they can cover all the vaccinations so that I can focus on vaccinating my main cat. There's a $75 fee to bring them in but that would be the same for all shelters. I won't give them away right away since I don't want to risk separating them from their mother too early but it's nice to know that there's a shelter that can take them.
I am still going to continue the fundraiser though since I need to get back the money from all the vet trips. I also need the money to pay for my cat's vaccinations and everyone's cat food. If I can get the money then that means I won't have to worry about anything besides my trip to see my fiance for the holidays! Just a reminder that it's more than $500 for gas on a road trip like that that doesn't even count the motel costs and the fact that we both don't have that much money. If I can get the money for the cats paid off then I might be able to help pay for the trip alongside him.
Hey guys! As some of you know, I took in a stray cat who so happen to be pregnant! She gave birth on September 21st and the litter is currently 6 weeks old. They are perfectly healthy and active. I love to watch them run around and try to climb my legs. I was sitting on a chair and one of the kittens climbed up from my feet all the way to my shoulders! It was hard to get him off, haha.
Long Version:
I took the kittens to the vet last Monday for an examination and to get their de-worming meds. The total cost for the visit was around $200! Not only that but I need to get their first set of vaccinations before I send them away to an adoption shelter. They said it would be $99 per kitten so that's almost $400! After that, I need to find a shelter to host them because I cannot afford to keep the kittens and pay for their other vaccines once they get older. Most of the shelters in my city cannot accept cats due to the cat overpopulation here. Too many people are bringing in cats for adoption. Because of this, there are shelters here that KILL cats if they don't get adopted. I DO NOT WANT TO BRING MY KITTENS TO A SHELTER LIKE THAT. My hope is that paying for the first vaccinations will make it more likely that a safe shelter can accept them as it gives them less to worry about. My kittens are my main concern but I still worry about my main cat, Blu. Since she is a stray, she has not gotten her vaccinations nor is she neutered. She has gotten her rabies, de-worming and flea treatments, however, the other vaccines must be done after the kittens are gone. They told me that the total cost for everything may be around $400 or more! This isn't as important as the kittens as this can be done anytime HOWEVER I still want to do it as soon as I can in order to keep my cat healthy. Not only that, but I recently had to pay $200 to get Blu checked up on as she was peeing blood. I had to get antibiotics for her. I also have a hope to visit my fiance for Christmas and in order to bring my cat with me across the border, I need her to have gotten her vaccinations. I have already missed his birthday, our engagement anniversary and am going to miss Thanksgiving. My only wish is to see him for the holidays since he does not have many people that he can celebrate it with. He could see me here but he just got a new job and I don't want to take that away from him. Besides, he is also attending college.
Not only do I have medical bills to worry about, but the average cost of cat food per week for me is also $40+ since I have to buy good quality kitten food. Even Blu has to eat it since she feeds the kittens sometimes. I also have to buy litter every so often and that cost around $10-20 depending if it's for my cat or the kittens.
Why am I telling you this? I'm telling this to you guys because I need to fundraise to the money to pay for everything listed above. I have just enough funds to pay but that will definitely leave me with no money in the bank and I need at least a bit of money to pay for cat food and other things. My mother is also growing a dislike for the kittens because of how much I am spending. She stated, and I quote, "you spend more money taking care of the cats then you do with me." What? Who else is going to spend the money? Medicine isn't free. And besides, what do you mean "take care of you?" I already cook every day for you. Do you want me to give you the money you don't believe I have from the job you don't believe I work at? You mentally abused me for 18 years and still judge me to this day but I stay because you will mentally get unstable if I leave and no one will want that.
Short Version:
The point is, I need help getting about $1000 to pay for my cat's medical bills. I'm not asking for donations specifically but they will help me greatly in the long run! I will be opening commissions, selling bases, YCHs, adopts and possibly doing in-stream commissions. I would really appreciate if I didn't get any painted or SUPER, super detailed comms as I need to get this money as soon as I can. You can still order them but they will be the last thing I will do.

Posted 7 years agoSorry to anyone waiting on those Kinktober requests! I was going to finish the rest today (5 left) but I got busy with personal stuff. I'm going to be uploading them later and I do apologize to those waiting for their request to be finished.
I do have most of them finished and uploaded to my Patreon (they get early access to my art) so I will upload what I can today. I also apologize to those waiting on commissions. I have a bad habit of trying to finish all the work I do in a day so I'm constantly thinking about what I am going to draw for each piece as I am drawing. It stresses me out a lot so I apologize for any delays. ;-;

Daily art Delay/Update
Posted 7 years agoYou may have noticed that I haven't been posting any new dailies for the past two weeks and I'm not here to say that I will be canceling the series but I just can't continue it at the moment. For one, I love drawing in ink and I've always wanted to do Inktober but I find it difficult considering I 1: am not used to drawing in ink every day. 2: Am also doing Kinktober prompts on FA/Patreon and 3: still have late art to finish.
I LOVE my dailies but they get tiring especially when I'm backed up on art to finish. I want to work on Patreon art more too since I recently got some new patrons (thank you btw!). ALSO, I'm trying to develop a pron comic for Patreon as well. I've got some thumbnails and refs done but I'm still working on it. I may post the cover art when I have time.
To cut to the chase, I'm halting dailies at the moment but may post comics or media relevant art from time to time. I think I'll be taking that break from now till the end of November. But that also gives me more room to do more commissions and YCH art! BTW I updated my site with a "YCH" tab that includes all the ych comms I've done including the dating sim one and Amiibo cards. I've also added a new Dungeon and Dragons themed YCH sheet that is a wip.

No Art for a Couple Weeks/Broken Tablet

The entire day I've been fighting with my tablet. It's been acting up SO much today. I've spent 8 hours straight reinstalling drivers, defragmenting my computer, reinstalling programs, deleting programs, restarting my computer and testing different tablet settings but NOTHING!!! Nothing is working.
The problem was that whenever I tried to draw, my pen would freeze mid-drawing. It got worse throughout the day to the point where I couldn't finish a commission I was working on. It was something with the pen or its calibration. I noticed it wouldn't move the cursor when I hovered my pen over the tablet anymore. When I drew, I couldn't put any pressure on it without it freezing. I had to draw VERY lightly and on an angle. Yeah, it froze when I used the tip for anything. Like it couldn't detect it. I messed with settings (both tablet, pen and program) but it didn't change.
Then I opened the pen up. Untwisted the top. That was a BAD IDEA. I did notice how weird it was though. It had a long wire wrapped around the top with a wire going down. The entire day I've been fighting with my tablet. It's been acting up SO much today. I've spent 8 hours straight reinstalling drivers, defragmenting my computer, reinstalling programs, deleting programs, restarting my computer and testing different tablet settings but NOTHING!!! Nothing is working.
The problem was that whenever I tried to draw, my pen would freeze mid-drawing. It got worse throughout the day to the point where I couldn't finish a commission I was working on. It was something with the pen or its calibration. I noticed it wouldn't move the cursor when I hovered my pen over the tablet anymore. When I drew, I couldn't put any pressure on it without it freezing. I had to draw VERY lightly and on an angle. Yeah, it froze when I used the tip for anything. Like it couldn't detect it. I messed with settings (both tablet, pen and program) but it didn't change.
Then I opened the pen up. Untwisted the top. That was a BAD IDEA. I did notice how weird it was though. It had a long wire wrapped around the top with a wire going down. Posted 7 years agoYooooo, I want to try to improve my "semi-realistic" style and try to draw anthro characters to be more alike to their real-life animal counterparts. Like in facial structure and body sizes but still keeping that cartooniness. Kinda like in Zootopia.

Also, just so you guys know, my mom has been out of the country dealing with family problems for like 6 months now but should be back soon. She didn't think that she'd be gone for so long so she didn't leave us with enough money to last 6 months. I've already paid a $200 internet bill and maybe $300 on food and other stuff since I've been back with MY own money. Not only that but I found a stray cat that has been living on my porch for months now and I need money to take him/her to a vet to get checked on. They let me pet them so they're obviously a lost or abandoned cat. There are LOTS of stays here.
So anyway, if you want to help out in getting me some of my money back then a commission with defiantly help! You can also donate a bit to my Ko-Fi if you'd like too.

Posted 7 years agoAnother update! Sorry but I'll be back in Canada maybe next week. I know I said after the 4th of July but my fiance has to work a week without time off since his company is working at a carnival and they NEED people to do the other contract locations too (he works security). There are about 24 employees and 30 contracts. Plus a lot of the employees slack off so who knows how much my fiance will have to work.
I've also been helping my fiance move and pack a lot of stuff from his old house since it's been decided that he can't keep it and that he needs to sell it. It's upsetting to us that all the work put up to keep it was for nothing. I feel awfully sorry for everything that happened to my fiance. His dad who he's been fighting to be with over years (his abusive mother kept trying to take him as a kid) died last June, his house that he promised his dad in his deathbed to keep burns down and he doesn't have enough money to keep it and now his grandfather's house is being foreclosed because he can't afford to repair it. He'll be getting money from the insurance company for everything that was destroyed but that can't replace memories and antiques. He even kept the box to his first Gamecube and now it's gone. Old Nintendo Powers and NES games gone. It's hard to believe that this all happened in a couple months but it did. I don't know how well he'll hold once I leave for Canada.
In other news, my tablet is being a butt but I am getting more used to it. I think it just might be a Windows 10 glitch but sometimes the tablet will work fine but the next day I restart the computer and it acts as if the tablet driver isn't connected. I'll move the pen and it acts like a mouse. THEN once it does work it will erase my tablet settings and go to the defaults. I use a Wacom Intuos Pro and if anyone else has had this problem then I wouldn't mind hearing your solution if you have one.

Not Home Yet! Update
Posted 7 years agoI haven't returned from my trip to see my fiance yet so I apologize for the lack of content!
I've decided to stay an extra month (maybe after the 4th of July?) for multiple reasons. One, May was really rainy, like depressing. We couldn't really go anywhere so we spent most of our time in the house. My fiance also works 12 hours a day (maybe 4-5 times a week) starting at 8pm so a majority of the day was him leaving for work and coming home to sleep till 4pm. That leaves 4 hours for us to do stuff together minus the time he needs to get ready for work. We actually got really depressed about that and he just wishes that he could spend more time with me. On the days he has off, he's usually too tired to do anything or we need to head to his mom's house to get showers (his house's shower doesn't work).
Not only that but he just got TWO foreclosure statements for the house that's getting fixed (it burned from a fire) and his current place (deceased grandparent's home). The house he's in now isn't foreclosed but the statement states it may start soon. No one is paying the mortgages for both houses because one is in need of being fixed (provided by the insurance company) and the other hasn't had anyone living in it for more than a year! So now he needs to find a temporary place that's affordable and accepts cats. Most of the places around here are either in shady neighborhoods or they're infested with bugs. He could live at his mom's for free but her husband doesn't accept cats. He doesn't want them peeing on anything even though my fiance will be living the basement he hardly goes in.
Things have been rough for my fiance and I just don't know what to do to make things better. He just wants to make me happy and spend time with me but I'm worried about his overall health. I'm worried of what's going to happen once I go back to Canada. He hardly has any money, he needs a home that can keep his cats, he has to find an immigration lawyer to help with the visa and he has to work a job that pays little and makes him work 12hrs a day. I know life can suck and that this is adulthood but come on. How many people here has had their whole house almost BURN DOWN. The insides are completely destroyed besides a couple of rooms. He's going to have to go back to school in September so that adds to the list too. It just doesn't seem fair...

Posted 7 years agoAHHHHHHH turns out that my mother is returning next Monday so she changed her arrival date AGAIN. There is no way that I'm waiting for her now. She keeps extending and changing her dates and it's causing me to stress dearly because I'm trying to plan a trip to see my fiance but I'm waiting for my mother to come back to approve. I refuse to wait anymore. The problem she's dealing with is hers, not mine. I just got my passport today and next week I'm leaving, probably on the 25th but it depends on whether or not my fiance can find a hotel or rental space. I've been waiting for MONTHS and I am becoming more and more agitated at the obstacles that keep blocking me from seeing my love. She called today giving me an update on things but I didn't want to tell her about the trip since she sounded upset. I plan to tell her this weekend since she'll probably do a video chat and I can show her proof of my passport and plans. I'm too tired from all of this stress to do anything art related now so I think I'm going to go on a hiatus until I'm actually at my fiance's place and I'm comfortable with making some minor art.
In the meantime, commissions are CLOSED and will not be open until I get back from my trip so please do not pm asking me when I am opening them or if they are open. I am confirming now that they are closed.

Posted 7 years agoWhaaa, my mother said that she'll be coming back on the 19th now so there's a chance I could see my fiance earlier than last expected!! I haven't told her the plans yet but she did say that once I get my passport, I can leave whenever so I hope she keeps her word on that.

Posted 7 years agoMy mother has been on a trip to deal with family problems and she suddenly said that she might be back later than expected. She was supposed to come back on the 19th but now she says maybe the 25th. I'm getting my passport on the 20th and I WAS planning to leave on the 25th but she hasn't confirmed anything yet. I'm confused as to what I should do. I organized myself so that I can leave early but now I might have to wait until the second week of May (bc my fiance is busy on the first week). It all depends on when she comes back but I don't know WHEN she'll come back. This is the second time she extended her stay too. My mindset has been up and down :/
As much as I'd like to say that I can leave right after my mom comes home, I think I'm gonna have to wait until next month to do it. I don't want to upset my mother especially since she's been going under a lot of stress with her son that she had to go see in Vietnam. Apparently, he wants to sell the house that my mom paid to be built for him so that he can give the funds to his newly met girlfriend. He agreed to give my mom the house back but then changed his mind last minute and threaten to break it down (he actually showed up with gear to break stuff). She called the police on him and then he tried to attack them. Sooooooo now she has to stay there longer until things calm down. I guess this gives me more time to work on art so I might open back commissions again once I finish the last one I have left. Once again my trip is delayed :////

Posted 7 years agoAHHHHHHHHHH my birth certificate just arrived today!!! I thought it would be here maybe two weeks later but whatever! I'm so happy ;u;
Now I can finally get my passport and visit my fiance!!!!! Most likely this month! This is both really great but also kind of troublesome considering I just started doing commissions again. It might take a couple weeks to get all the paperwork done (I still need to get a bank account and social security number) and prepare so I can still do commissions during that time. I'll be super busy this month to finish stuff and get my work done. I'm too much of a perfectionist so there's a lot of stuff I need to think about.
I'll be able to finish this commission batch for sure but I'm not sure if I'm going to open them again later? I can't promise that commissions will be open while I'm visiting my fiance since my mother may not allow me to take my art tablet since it's so expensive and I don't want to upset her because I want to make the first visit as calm as possible. I'll be gone for a month since my fiance can't afford to drive 10 hours to me and back and then back again (40+ hrs total) for only a week of visiting and he'll be working a majority of the time so I want to have as much time as possible with him <3
