since i've run into issues with commissioners asking for large edits in the past, i figured it was only fair to require an extra charge from now on. small edits such as color and sketch revisions will be free, but changes such as new poses, composition, and edits to rendered backgrounds (colored and shaded) will cost $20 each. i won't spring any extra charges on anyone, i'll let you know when your edit is large enough for it so you can decide whether or not to proceed, but i might reject an edit if it's too large/drastically diverts from the original plan.

drawing for long periods strains my hand and when i have to go in and change something as large as an entire pose, it consumes my time and energy. i'll do it, of course, but i want to ensure that i'm compensated for it from now on! this is experimental, i'll probably expand on what constitutes a large edit in the future, i'm not even sure if i want to do this lol

i'm honestly a little fed up with people adding me on discord asking me to be friends, it makes me deeply uncomfortable. i had my discord listed only for people to add me about commission inquiries, not to chat; i don't care if i sound like an asshole, but i'm not actively looking to make friends. chatting with people during the commission process is fine by me, i'm certainly not an unfriendly person, but i'm not a social person, i have my small circle and i'm content with that ^^; if you commission me and you want to move to discord to talk about it, that's fine by me, i'll send it to you, but i'm taking my discord username off my profile

that's all for that. in regards to my posting after what's been going on with furaffinity; i have some art ready to upload publicly (and i will upload it once posting is back online) but if you ever want to see it early for $1/mo (not $3/mo, sorry), i post everything i complete for my patrons first! i'll be making some changes to my patreon soon (mainly regarding discord, i don't think i want to offer discord benefits for now because i feel like that requires me to be more sociable than i currently am. i mostly keep to myself, i'm not the best server admin lol) and one of them is to start posting EVERYTHING on there, not just paid content. maybe once artwork has been up there for a certain duration of time, it'll become publicly available for free patrons. i do want to accommodate people who are simply following me on there, as much as i possibly can without bankrupting myself, of course.

so if something ever happens to furaffinity, or if i for some reason stop posting on here, patreon will be a good place to view my artwork. just note that i post ALL my art on there, not just furry artwork! i know there was at least one or two people (anonymous) who weren't interested in my non-furry artwork from a poll a while back - which is fine, i'm not offended by it, just thought i would point that out for those who might care :3

after talking to some people and getting input, i've decided to just do sketch comms from now on, lineart does look nice but it's too fine and particular of an art form for my poor, withered right hand

maybe someday i'll offer it as an addon, but for now on i'll only do it for personal art when i feel like it.

one thing that WILL change about sketches is that i'm going to bump the prices by $5. so busts will be $15, half bodies will be $20, and full bodies will be $25. character detailing (shading/lighting), detailed backgrounds, and extra character charges will all stay the same price!

i'm currently working on my new commission sheet, but i doubt it'll be ready by the time public comms are open this month. you'll know when it's announced though!

i need to remake my commission sheet for 2025, and i'm reevaluating how much time and effort i should be spending on art going forward. i'm leaning towards the idea of removing lineart from my commission sheet for good, the time it takes in comparison to the payout aren't worth it anymore, plus the physical toll it's taking on my hand and wrist. i could make it more expensive, but i really don't want to do that. sketches, however, are way more efficient for me, i can make many of them in a week and i usually wind up liking the cleaned sketch better than the lineart anyways.

anyhow, nothing is set in stone, and i don't want to break someone's heart if they liked my lineart and i stopped offering it one day lol. here's a poll, but please comment your opinion;

a problem i have with being a furry artist is that i like to draw non-furry stuff as well, and i draw it because i enjoy it, but there's always that nagging voice in the back of my head dictating that i shouldn't post it because i'm "just" a furry artist.

i've remedied that by separating my furry art and non-furry art between here and bluesky/tumblr and posting whatever i want to my patreon, but would you guys like to see that here? :/

i may make another poll if the majority of you agree you want bases, because i can't decide if i want to make something complex that costs more (ie something with layers containing different hairstyles, tails, fluff, eyes, ears, etc) or something simpler and cheaper (only one layer, white base and/or transparent). the simpler one would be quicker for me to produce, but the more complex one would offer more variety for character designs.

if i had to guess, the simple base would be $20 or so, and the complex base like... between $70-$100? not sure, could also be an opportunity to offer discounts to bandit tier patrons for the complex bases!

as i mentioned in my last update, i will no longer be doing sketches as a reward for tips, and sketches will no longer be included in monthly comms. i of course will be happy to do sketch commissions again, but i'm not quite sure how to include them in my line of services, since i already have so much, i'll have to deliberate on that at a later date. but for now, only lined art is available for monthly commissions. my comm sheet will stay the same for now, but i'll make sure to indicate that i am NOT taking sketch comms at this time (maybe a big red x will suffice LOL)

i'm no longer doing sketches for tips after this month, my queue is just very loaded - i MAY still have some reward in place for larger tips, but i'm unsure on that. i'm thinking about making sketch commissions patreon exclusive, but that would require me to remake my commission sheet to not include them... another alternative is keeping them public, but opening them up as separate commissions from the monthly ones. i may even bump up the prices for sketches - it's getting harder for me to make so many when they're in such high demand

much to think about. no one ever gives you a written manual on how to juggle your health, hobby, and profits when it comes to art commissions, so it looks like it'll just be one experiment after the other. such is life!

so after hearing concerning rumors that patreon might be banning all explicit content, i've made the decision to move from there to subscribestar. i made this decision rather frantically and i'm not quite sure how it all works, but for now the same tiers and rewards will be available! the only thing that i changed was that all tiers now have access to the discord server :)

update 12/12/2023: unfortunately, due to underlying circumstances, subscribestar just won't work out for me at this moment. i've reinstated my patreon as it's more convenient for me, even though it would be very disappointing if they banned all explicit content from their website, i can still offer rewards and share sfw art!

so i'm going to be experimenting with something. used to, i would close my comms whenever i filled up my 10 slots, and then open them after they were cleared out, but starting monday i'm closing them off for public access, meaning you can no longer simply fill out my commission sheet to commission me.

public access WILL still be available in the form of auctions, my thinking is that i'll open 5 slots for auction and it'll go the same way all my other auctions go, it ends 24 hrs after the first bid or autobuy. i'll leave a listing of winning tiers like i usually do on, showing you what you'll receive. (here's an example, just check the description!) after winning the auction, you're welcome to upgrade it however you like! (ie, if you won a $60 full body you can upgrade it to $80 for a full body with detailing, so on and so forth)

i'll reserve the remaining 5 slots to specific clientele and the $10 "bandit" tier on my patreon, but specific clientele will take priority. specific clientele would include frequent commissioners or close friends of mine. (edit: also, bandits who snag a commission slot will have a 1 month (experimental) cooldown so that other bandits can have a chance at getting a comm, unless i have remaining slots to sell or the number of bandit tier patrons is limited)

my commissions will close entirely when all 10 slots have been filled so that i can get everything finished up and cleaned out again.

i will STILL make ych's and offer bonus drawings alongside adoptables, you're also free to send me a tip and will receive a sketch for it. (although if i get an overflow of sketch commissions that may be limited as well, i don't want to overwhelm myself)

i linked to this journal on my hostile-elf account, so if you're here from that, hello! i've decided that i'm going to walk away from transformation for good, it's just not for me anymore - i wish that someone had told me years ago that it would've made a noticeable impact on my physical and mental health, but i don't necessarily regret drawing that first sequence. what i do regret is not expressing my sincere gratitude to every kind person i've met through tf/tg in that first journal i made announcing my break.

i'm sorry if this is a disappointment to anyone... but again, i'm truly grateful for the kindness i've been shown, and the couple friends i've made! you are all wonderful and i don't take that for granted <3 no one is at fault for me losing interest in tf/tg, it's just something i had a casual interest in for a while and then lost the passion for as burn out took over. as i've told others, my art just started to look ugly to me, and i want to make quality artwork that both myself and others can enjoy!

i'm not really sure what to do with my hostile-elf account as of right now... it'll be hard to post normal content on there, since it's kind of the tf/tg account in my eyes. i thought about deleting it entirely but walked back on that decision - i don't think i'll be active on there anymore, but i'll still leave all the artwork up for everyone to continue viewing. but until further notice, consider the hostile-elf account dead.

so i've been deliberating over the state of my patreon and kofi, and i believe i have an idea of what to do with them.

PATREON will be for fan art and sfw content. i'd like to move back into drawing fan art again, as well as some oc content, but my oc content will probably stay regulated to toyhouse! i'm multifandom so my interests will change from time to time, but i'm thinking that patrons at a certain tier will be able to vote for characters they want drawn (with some limitations) every month

(EDIT: NEVERMIND kofi doesn't allow nsfw content ;w;) KOFI will be for nsfw content, there will also be lewd fan art there as well! it'll work the same on patreon where you can throw a couple dollars at me to see WIPs as well as the finished product before the public release

and of course i'll still do commissions! pretty soon i'll have to update my commsheet with more recent artwork, the art displayed currently is getting outdated.

FOR NOW, while i'm going through my queue and cleaning out the backlog, i will not be posting much on kofi and patreon, as i have my hands tied already. but i have some fan art planned for osomatsu-san and maybe skyrim in the future! anyways, that's all, this is just me sharing my ideas and brainstorming, so we'll see what happens and if anything changes in the future!

i was considering making some ych's with sweeping scenery in places like whiterun hold or maybe of the dragonborn confronting alduin. if it had a detailed background it would be upwards of $100+, not including detailing, which will be an optional addon as per usual.

i'm not sure how many people know this but i started a comic called "her name was nightrun" back in 2018, and it's been on an extended hiatus while i rewrite it. in the future, i'll make another tier for those who want to read the comic 5 or so pages earlier! it might go at $10/mo, but i'm nowhere near ready to plan that out yet, that may change!

for now i'm waiting to hear back from patreon, which will probably be between a few minutes and a couple hours after i post this journal :P i'll make a new journal to announce its launch!
