Quick Anime Review - "Problem Children"
Posted 11 years agoIt's been a while since I posted anything in my journals, I'm going to experiment a little with short reviews of games or anime that I watch and want to recommend to others.
Also known as "Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?"
Summary:
Izayoi Sakamaki, Asuka Kudou, and You Kasugabe have tremendous psychic powers and are bored with the regular world. An envelope arrives for each person, and when each opens their envelope, they are stunned to see the scenery around them change to a world they had never encountered before. They've been summoned by the Black Rabbit to help the community "No Name" to overthrow the Devil King.
What makes it worth watching:
The characters!
The three main characters are surprisingly intelligent, they quickly learn how to work together, they form good plans and show that they can overcome problems with a good mix of their unique powers but also their heads.
At first glance Izaya appears to be a typical shonen protagonist, strong, stubborn and always looking for a fight. But he also shows a desire to learn about many things and while he is super strong, he doesn't let his power cloud his judgement, some of the best plans the characters do come from Izaya.
Asuka has a power similar to Lelouch from Code Geass, that is she can give people orders that they can not resist. Sufficient willpower can allow a person to resist or ignore her orders though. The twist is that she hates her power because she doesn't like to manipulate people and throughout the series she tries to change her power.
You Kasugabe's power is to borrow and enhance abilities from animals she befriends, copying a cat gives her super dexterity and reflexes for example. She can also communicate with animals. Her reason for going to Little Garden is to make new friends. A lot of her character development centers around her insecurity and feeling of being the weakest of the group.
The show contains a mix of comedy and action. There's a bit of fanservice but all of it mostly focuses on Black Rabbit, because of the outfit she wears normally.

The setting:
Little Garden, the world the 3 main characters are brought to is a place where myths, legends, stories and history intertwine, it's filled with gods, demigods, legendary heroes, ancient artifacts and so on.
The rule in Little Garden is that you can host a game, with specific rules. Those who join a game can use their money, land, artifacts or even their own powers as betting chips.
While it is called "Little" Garden, it is certainly anything but that, the surface of the world is comparable to that of a star, no wonder since its filled with almost every myth and story ever.
Throughout the series we only see a few stories, the greek myth of Perseus and various artifacts from it, a gryphon, the story of the Piper of Hamelin and a few others.
Hopefully a second season will come soon with more stuff, thanks to the setting of the world there's infinite possibilities.
I definitely recommend this show to anyone who likes a well written anime with good fight scenes, fun characters and a unique setting.

Update on journals
Posted 11 years agoI haven't had much reason to post any journals here on FA, but since I seem to have a decent number of watchers I wanted to post something at least.
The only thing I can think of are first impressions and reviews of games, movies, tabletop games, anime and similar stuff.
I'll try to post some content before Christmass and then try to add new stuff at least once a week or so.

Aliens vs Predator - demo - updated - some thoughts
Posted 15 years agoSome of you already know but for those who don't the multiplayer demo of the new AVP was released yesterday, while today they fixed a bug that was gamebreaking for matchmaking.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/34200 get the demo here
A lot of people are currently whining that it feels too "consolised"
While it is true that the game was optimised for both PC and consoles and thus shares alot of console features it is still a pretty decent game. (But not worth the 50€ price tag on Steam for EU, unless you want Universe at War with it)
I'm probably going to buy the game once it's released, the only critic I have is that the controls for the Alien feel a but clunky.
Anyone else here played the demo and wants to share a few words? Or anyone want more info?

City of Heroes 5th Anniversary
Posted 16 years agohttp://www.cityofheroes.com/news/ne....._annivers.html
So to celebrate the anniversary they are giving everyone a free month of time if they ever played CoH in the past!
Just a heads up for those who didn't know.
Also congratulations to them for having a MMO that lasted for 5 years!

Cartoon Network MMO, I got into open beta after 9 months
Posted 17 years agoso I finaly got into the beta, haven't had time to play it yet but for some strange reason it's browser based.
You need to download some plugin and you play the game over your browser, keep in mind its a full 3D cellshaded game.

NEED HELP :< weird memory errors...
Posted 17 years agoSo I tried to play TF2 today and got kicked out of the game when the loading bar finished and got a link to this page:
https://support.steampowered.com/kb.....hp?p_faqid=150
I read everything on it and tried uninstaling AVG but that didn't help.
Can anyone help me? please? :<

Wrath of the Lich King - Death Knights
Posted 17 years agohttp://www.mmo-champion.com/
Those who play WoW probably know this site, but I wanted to link it anyways.
Some of the more interesting things I read was :
# All players with a level 55 character will be able to create one Death Knight per realm, per account.
# Blizzard's designers decided to start the class with a full complement of abilities right off the bat, figuring that any player that has advanced a character to level 55 would be able to learn to handle the new class with minimal difficulty.
# Death Knights will have a summonable Skeletal Deatcharger Mount
# Death Knights will also revive an enemy (or ally) as a ghoul to use it as a pet with its own special abilities like a disease-inflicting strike and a stun.
# When an ally is risen as a ghoul, a pop-up will appear and this ally will have the choice to control the ghoul if he wants to.
The last two points being the most interesting ones, ressing an ally as a ghoul and letting him control it? Awesome :D

Ah well, thread died, anyways it was about a comic with a furry version of Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, the monster from Jeepers Creepers, Pinhead etc.
Jason and Freddy are a couple and have a baby... Jason gets pregnant.. etc.
Anyways...
DAMN YOU FURRIES!
You can rape my childhood... you can abuse any videogame character and rape my childhood more...
BUT STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM JASON! X_X
