My 2013 Game of the Year is...

The MUSIC <3
No hesitation
No Regrets
Now one of my favorite games of all time.
Going Pro!
Posted 12 years ago I never really embraced being good at videogames, I kind of just ignored it , would forget its there, and if anything, felt a bit of shame because i didn't think it would really go anywhere. its what I did all my life because maintaining a social life was literally impossible when I was young (lived in a different district than everyone else at school, so hanging out with any of my friends was not possible at all). So, the only friend I was able to maintain was a Nintendo 64 and all the consoles before an Xbox 360 (except the PS2).
But then, I realized something....
Not everyone can have a 83.5% win rate in a fighting game(UMvC3) and beat Maximillian Dood (Pro Gamer), have an obnoxiously high k/d in almost any shooter and get top in the scoreboards 90% of the time (Battlefield 3/BioShock2/Crysis2/Max Payne 3, etc), play expert on every instrument in Rock Band/Guitar Hero/etc, or be #1 in the Dishonored Global Leaderboards all at the same time. Not just that, but finding a true "Hard" difficulty is proving to be harder than the actual gameplay itself. i can never be challenged by a game by today's standards. (Oh what's this? Bioshock Infinite 1999 mode only for the hardcore mode? Pfft, too easy...) I always start my first playthrough in any game on the hardest difficulty and can never be satisfied.
I thought to myself: "maybe there's something I could do with this..."
Today, I don't game as much seeing as I now have a job and hang out with friends a lot more often to the point where both are kept at a healthy balance. And I'm pretty content with this (so much so that I'm expecting something unfortunate to happen to me because Life hates it when im happy). I still love to game but due to the fact that there haven't been many games coming out, I've been stuck playing competitive games and developing an ego that can only be satiated by the tears and blood of my defeated adversieries/opponents.
I learned that its not about the play time that makes the game worth playing, but the intensity of challenge, and the thrill of success.
And of course, utter dominance/domination, lol.
I feel like it would be a waste for me to NOT take opportunity with my skills. At least try to go somewhere with it. really think I can find a spot in something. Doesn't matter which game. Time has proven to me that I've become some sort of a Jack of All Trades. I'm good at many types of games. All I have to do is pick one and roll with it.
School is still a priority of course, but the Pythagorean theory isnt going to teach me how to pay taxes, buy a car, or how to survive in an economic crisis. It WILL however, be good at sucking the bills out of my wallet only to reward me with stress. So its going to be a low priority.
I've already got a gaming monitor for optimal playing performance, now I just need to find local tournaments and a team to play with.
Won't be easy, but I'm still young, the games are getting even better, and I have all the time in the world!
And since we live in an online age where things are much more convenient and at grasp... I think its...
TIME TO GO PRO BABY!

Good to be back/Next-Gen Consoles?
Posted 12 years agoHey guys, hope everyone's doing good. I haven't been really active here due to reasons but that's all taken care of now.
So, I've been meaning to ask you guys:
Xbox One or PS4?
I personally pre-ordered the PS4 just 2 days after E3 (for obvious reasons at the time), but now it seems that the Xbone has adapted by getting more powerful hardware and the removal of DRM requirements.
While it is tempting, I wont get an Xbone day one, but next year when they release the inevitable $399 "No-Kinect Required" Xbone bundle with Halo 5. Plus there aren't any games for it at launch exclusives besides Dead Rising 3 but Capcom will just re-release it a year later as Super Dead Rising 3: Frank West Edition, no doubt (no Frank Best, no sale).
I'm personally looking forward to getting the PS4 just for playing Battlefield 4 with my BF pals. Plus I want to support a company that had hardcore gamers in mind when making the console. Sony deserves my hard earned money.
But this is all subjective and there is an actual incentive for others to get an Xbox One. So which one are you getting? Why? What games? Day One? The Wii U? (lol)

Happy Holidays!!!
Posted 12 years agoJust wanted to wish you all Hoopy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
I know I haven't been on here much but I've been real busy with holiday shopping for the wee ones and spending time with the family and whatnot with traditions and such. Note to self, order everything online next year and save myself hours of being in traffic...
I just honestly can't believe its already going to be Christmas again so soon O_O, the whole year went by too quickly (at least for me it did).
So yeah, hope everything goes well for all of you (yes, I mean all of you :) ) and that it is truly a Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday!
And for my BF3 pals, Enjoy this new episode of Battlefield Friends!

Ken Levine: "You know, 'let’s make that narrative scene that much better. Let’s do another pass on the timing of that scene. Let’s do another balance pass.’ It’s a game we could have shipped in February. It just wouldn’t be the game that we think the fans deserve. And that doesn’t mean it was far off from that, but they deserve what they deserve. And when we ask people to pony up a lot of money for this game, we have to feel confident that we’re giving them something that they deserve.”"
>Bioshock Infinite reveals boring/bland action-y cover/box art http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/g.....68-660x647.png
Ken Levine: “I looked at the cover art for BioShock 1, which I was heavily involved with and love, I adored. And I tried to step back and say, if I’m just some guy, some frat guy, I love games but don’t pay attention to them… if I saw the cover of that box, what would I think? And I would think, this is a game about a robot and a little girl. That’s what I would think. I was trying to be honest with myself. Trust me, I was heavily involved with the creation of those characters and I love them.”
“Would I buy that game if I had 60 bucks and I bought three games a year… would I even pick up the box? I went back to the box for System Shock 1, which was obviously incredibly imporatnt — that game was incredibly influential on me, System Shock 2 was the first game I ever made. I remember I picked it up… looked at it and I said, I have no idea what this game is. And I didn’t have a lot of money back then. So, back on the shelf. And I was a gamer.”
“I wanted the uninformed, the person who doesn’t read IGN… to pick up the box and say, okay, this looks kind of cool, let me turn it over. Oh, a flying city. Look at this girl, Elizabeth on the back. Look at that creature. And start to read about it, start to think about it.”
“I understand that our fan says, that’s great Ken, what’s in it for me? One, we need to be successful to make these types of games, and I think it’s important, and I think the cover is a small price for the hardcore gamer to pay. I think also when we do something for the hardcore gamer, there’s something we’re talking about and something we’re sure about. The thing we’re sure about is that we’re going to be releasing a whole set of alternate covers that you can download and print. We’re going to be working with the community to see what they’re interested in.”
I fucking love this guy. Why can't everyone else in the industry be as thoughtful to fans as him?
Here's a little something-something I made for you , Casey. It's rich with artisitic integrity :D <3

My DmC Devil May Cry Hands On VIDEO
Posted 13 years agoAfter finally realizing that the 140 hours of Halo 4 sweepstakes is a total waste of my time and sanity (oh...did I lose it....),
I decided to use the time towards something more useful like making more videos out on youtube.
Anyway, I decided to have a "looser" approach to this video seeing as how my others were always serious (Reviews are srs bizzness man).
Enjoy and have a Happy Thanksgiving folks!

My Dishonored VIDEO Review
Posted 13 years agoDoes Akane's new IP succeed on bringing fresh air into the industry?
Watch in 720p for best quality
I'm trying my best to streamline the reviews so that I don't waste much time while still getting the points across.
Going to save up for a better mic so that I won't have to sound like a such drone (I use the one I got from Rock Band, enough said)
Tell me what you guys think, honesty is appreciated!
As always, easter egg after the "video credits"

My Borderlands 2 VIDEO Review
Posted 13 years agoJust a quick word on why I do these reviews:
My video reviews are more streamlined than my written reviews (where a bit more into detail) so
just an FYI for those wondering why I don't cover everything in the video reviews.
Also, I've been reviewing games for 2 years, but I've been doing video reviews for only a year now. With every
video I make I get better, that's why I love making these even though they take so much time, skill, and effort. its
satisfying (and cool) to see what I can do in this video, and then think of what I can do in the next.
Progress. Improvement. But most of all, rewarding accomplishment.
That immensely satisfying feeling when its done and uploading, kind of what artists feel when finishing artwork.
Anyway, enough of my stupid sappy blabber, hope you guys enjoying watching it as much as I enjoyed making it.
COMING UP NEXT Tuesday: Resident Evil 6 Review

My (rusty) Rubik's Cube Speedrun (VIDEO)
Posted 13 years agoDescription:
Haven't solved the cube ever since my first one was broken in college by a certain someone. That was almost a year ago.
I finally was able to get my hands on a brand new cube and put my skills to the test again.
I didn't beat my personal best (49.04 seconds) but its still a great time considering that I'm a bit rusty.
If you can solve it under a minute, you're officially a "Speedcuber".

My BF3 Armored Kill Video Review /My New Youtube Channel
Posted 13 years agoFor those wondering where I have been, I've been busy working on making a steady Youtube channel. Making videos on videogames isn't as easy as it looks and its time consuming as well.
I try my best to upload at least 2 unique videos a week and I do reviews, previews, montages, casual gameplay, shooters, fighters, commentaries, etc.
Here is my review for BF3 Armored Kill
(Easter Egg at the very end)

What's your favorite videogame memory?
Posted 13 years agoI still remember Christmas morning of 1999. Opening up my Dreamcast and popping in this game...ugh...the memories are overwhelming that its depressing when you realize how fast time goes by... but those were the days....back when Sonic still had some class and dignity.
And playing this song just makes me feel 6 years old all over again...
What about you guys? What's your favorite videogame-related nostalgic moment?

"Take Back Omega" will be the next Single player DLC
Posted 13 years agoIt seems that some were able to peek through the Firefight Weapons DLC and find some files that were related to Omega. It will have 4-5 missions and it will also treat Omega as a hub world.
ALSO, some audio files were found that were unused and sound like they were something she would say on Omega.
I'm not really surprised with this since it was hinted in the game and so forth, but what do you guys think? Will you buy this?

MASS EFFECT MOVIE SCRIPT NOW WRITTEN!
Posted 13 years agoLast year at Comic Con, Legendary pictures declared that the Mass Effect movie would be a "completely different story" in the universe.
Apparently they have decided to take a new direction and a script is now written and based off the original, first ME game with Shepard having the prominent role.

I can't wait to hear further updates on the movie as it goes along (I wonder what the cast will be like).
Though I will say that I'm worried...
Are you guys excited?

BATTLEFIELD 4 OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED BY EA!
Posted 13 years agoSo earlier this week EA's Origin goofed when accidentally listing that you can play the BF 4 beta when pre-purchasing/pre-ordering the LIMITED EDITION (cmon EA...) of Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

Well it seems that EA has decided to come out and confirm that Battlefield 4 is indeed coming!. The beta will be available Fall 2013.

Here's the kicker...since the beta itself is taking place next year, will it be next-gen? Just some food for thought...
Either way, what are you thoughts on this exciting announcement? Too soon? Do you think it will be Next-Gen? Day one buy?
