Hey again everyone! I have some words and stuff about commissions and the future that I wanted to share with you! First, I wanted to make a brief announcement that I will be participating as a Beta Tester for FurryNetwork's upcoming Commissions feature!


That being said, what with having a lot of stuff outside of the furry world going on in my life, and me personally having a desire to keep myself from spreading too thin: **For an indefinite period of time going through FN's upcoming feature will be the only way to get a commission from me...!**
I really cant give a confident answer on when I will accept commissions everywhere again but, if school keeps going the way it is I will likely keep my comm's FN exclusive until the end of the semester.

To finalize: I will be opening up commissions again once I'm told I am able to start using the feature, and will post a journal here announcing it!
While I don't want to get any hopes up, this should be happening in the next few weeks!

Been noticing quite a few people tagging along on my journey to watch me do art and stuff, it really really awesome <3 I'm actually getting along towards my first thousand watchers on here... that's like crazy to me!

Sharing since I, for some reason, feel like im more obligated to accomplish things when I share them publicly,
What I wanna do better at in 2017 is focus my time and talents to one thing. I just wanna git really gud at just one thing, before I start piling on so many different sub-divisions of my working / spare time. I think a lot of people are right in saying im spreading myself to thin, and have been leaving too many loose end projects that are mentally distracting me from the ones I would like to matter the most.
That and, a technical contradiction to what I just said BUT, I'd like to re-start my garden my mate and I attempted the other year. But at least that's half their job, haha. Gonna have to start soon :x

Hand-Drawn arts, and Garden. And passing my classes, that's kinda important to. Hoping I can come back around Dec 2017 and say those three things were the things I got done, haha.

...I miss having overwhelming amounts of spare time to spend drawing... I feel like i've done such a small amount of work this past year and it sucks. Not to mention the things I DO do a spread over such a long period of time because I dont have any quantitative stretches of time for just. Art stuff. Hey there everyone! How's your week been going, good? Mines been super busy as always haah.

So, I've been thinking quite a bit lately about Anthroocoonn haha! If you hadn't noticed, I am fricken SO READY to being a dealer there in 2017. Oh man, the hype is so real.
I've also been mulling over my artwork prices as well considering I've been developing quite a few 'new' commission types, whether they've been made public yet or are still WIP's

And, considering all that, I have been remembering something that was said to me while I was in the Artist Alley last year at Anthrocon in relation to my pricing... Something that I found to be incredibly offensive and ignorant. I was actually intending to make this journal soon after AC 2016 but had way too much on my plate and had forgotten about it until now.
But, if you havent figure out among the context clues, it was a comment about my NSFW charges. So, I wanted to offer you guys a bit of an explanation as to why I charge more for NSFW

Well, you see my wonderful and understanding watchers; When I am doing NSFW pieces, and especially so with Reference sheets, I spend a significant amount of additional time working on these pieces, to obtain the appropriate arrangement and additional, ehem, anatomical details in and as accurately as I am able to portray. If you guys have seen any of my NSFW art, you may or may not notice (Ive sure noticed) that there's a ABSOLUTE BOOTY LOAD of extra expressive movement, and that every part of every character is accounted for very very intentionally placed.
So, taking that in mind, and pairing it with the fact that all of my commission prices are and have always been based on the amount of time spent on a commission piece... The working time difference was certainly drastic enough that it called for a consistent price increase, as I was noticeably spending a significant amount of time working on NSFW pieces as opposed to SFW pieces.

So no,
It's not because I'm a prude, or that I think I can rake more money out of a higher demanding market.
I'm not adding an additional cost to NSFW art for the sole purpose of offending you.
I am only thinking of myself here, and properly compensating myself for my time spent working on your commissions, because this is kinda my job. It's the same reason I charge more for Digital versus Traditional... just cause it has proven to take me more time.

So I hope that I gave you guys a little more insight into why I do what I do. I cant speak for other artists as I know up-charging for NSFW is a common occurrence in this community but. That's why I do it, and I mean I THINK its a pretty fair reason?

As a side note... When I mentioned I've been thinking over my prices a lot, I def have been.
it's been about a year or so since my last price sheet was made, and I've since come up with more commission types as well as have been considering retiring some commission types that haven't been fairly unsuccessful ^^
Not to mention, that examples are SUPER outdated at this point and could use a refresh themselves
Since I seem to do it around this time every year, I think I'll make a sort of regular thing to update my price sheet each new year.

Prices WILL probably go up a teeny tiny bit, but I really dont expect them to change too drastically from what they are. They're more so likely to just be a little more balanced and have a tighter pricing range. The only HUGE difference is the types of commissions I offer will be reworked and be made clearer and more tailored.

That being said, I will likely close ALL commissions EXCEPT Button commissions in the next week or two while I am making the updated sheet...!
For those on my Ref Sheet waitlist, if there is a price increase on the sheets, you will be guaranteed the original price at the time you were added to the waitlist <3 In general, Waitlist Ref Sheets will be unaffected by the closing of commissions and potential price changes.

That's right! It's been confirmed that Laelap and I will not only be attending Anthrocon 2017, but I have also been approved for a dealers table!
In addition, as long as circumstance allows it, fellow artist and friend will be joining me as a DA and we'll be selling some of her work as well!

Essentially, my close friend and fellow artist danigrillo is in a really tough spot. She has been schooling in the US on a student visa, and due to the state of her country and the fact she is restricted from working, she is currently struggling to pay through school.
She is asking for helping paying for school this year so that she will not be forced back to her home country. She is originally from Venezula, which if you've seen any news on the country is an absolutely catastrophe.

I keep forgetting so so much. So many things.

I'm so busy all the time and when im not I'm too much an unsorted mess to do... anything really, haa. Cept sleep. My goodness thank evolution for sleep I wouldn't function without it.
The temporary changes in commission might be ah, slightly longer than I anticipated. I know I didn't say any sort of estimate for that to change but, my reasonings for reeaallly taking it slow have done the damn opposite of improve. I've barely gotten the chance for personal stuff cause im just busy or drained to do much about it, aahhh.
