i had to delete my twitter recently because i was applying for jobs (me and  demonicdesigns ran into some financial troubles) and the company i applied for was trying to find my twitter through my email address.

i deleted my twitter very hastily without any notice and i apologize for that- i wasnt aware jobs were able to look you up through your email address. i am going to recreate my twitter soon using a different email.

someone won a free raffle from me a few months ago, and i owe them an art piece. i believe i remember who this person was but if it was you (the reader of this journal) and i contacted the wrong person, let me know.

my job is going to lay me off at the end of this month (december 2021) so im going to take the oppurtunity to try and make my commissions a full-time job. many of my YCHs still have open slots, and i am open for commissions (for more details go here: https://cryptidcat.carrd.co/ ).

i base the prices on how long each thing takes me to do. i also tried to have price range variance for people on smaller budgets or people that just want to go all out and ask for a massive orgy in a tropical waterfall wonderland with an art deco border or something.

hi everyone

so im confused about how to go about opening commissions. for context, im artist that, if it wasnt for covid-19, would probably have started a tattoo apprenticeship last year or this year. but that is put on hold for who knows how long lol. in other words, i plan to spend my career making art as a professional artist.

as an artist my interests go all over the place. half of my gallery is nsfw content because i think its fun, but also because i find its a good source of income. i enjoy doing decorative poster-like designs for my nsfw YCHs because i love patterns and decorative art. although i admit the reason i do so much nsfw to begin with is because it is more profitable, and i find nsfw commissioners are really nice and usually tip. my few times doing sfw commissions for people (ex. house paintings/animal portraits/human portraits) ive found the clients undercharge and actually get offended if i ask for a fare wage. so im hesitant to touch that market again.

however, ive found recently on fA that my animal paintings get a lot more attention. so im wondering if maybe the furry fandom would be more fair to a sfw artist? id like to try doing sfw commissions of people's fursonas, human OCs, and possibly pets. or just whatever general sfw stuff gets thrown my way.

so im asking my watchers what they followed me for? sfw content or nsfw? and if i was to open commissions, would people be more interested in a commission sheet from me that is sfw or nsfw? or both?

anyone know any good serious websites for young artists looking to learn and improve their art?

i eventually want to make an artstation (when i feel comfortable with my portfolio) but i dont think im up to that skill yet. ive been feeling more and more lately that furaffinity has far too much spam and inkbunny weirdly has a lot of cub art (which makes me uncomfortable). i am also finding that the furrynetwork seems to only be good for already popular artists, as the newest page focuses on most favorite/most popular work. i guess im just looking for a site that has a majority user base of serious artists looking to work on their skills together and give each other feedback. something like what conceptart.org used to be back in the early 2000s (i really missed out on that LOL).

while i am a furry i do make nonfurry art and i love painting humans, landscapes, houses, ect, literally anything i just love painting in general. i would really like to find like minded artists along with a website that encourages personal growth in your art.

i havent been posting much at all because i lost my job and a roommate during the coronavirus, so me and my partner  demonicdesigns had to move in with my parents. been really depressed about this because my parents have been arguing nonstop since we moved in, making it really hard for us to concentrate on our art.
we live in ontario which has been seeing rent hikes all across its cities, including the rural ones. we are trying to find an affordable city to live in where the rent is 900$ a month or less for a bachelor (pet friendly) but havent had much luck.
really disappointing because i just started school for a career i love and thought things were going to go smooth but the coronavirus happened
this is a bit of a far stretch but if anyone knows about a place that offers rent for 900$ a month or less (pet friendly, all inclusive) id be really happy to hear about it.
im also always open to commissions for cheap so please dont be scared to ask

my classes resume again this friday! im beginning the first semester of my 3d environment art program. ive played with autodesk maya but ive always found it kind of confusing. really excited to learn from an expert how to get set up in maya and start modelling.
i dont learn zbrush until next semester but i hope by then i can start doing sculptures of people's fursonas as commissions.
ill still being doing 2d art (paintings and drawings in photoshop) and uploading them so if you followed me for my animal paintings there will still be more made in the future

maybe some have noticed but i havent been posting my usual amount these last 2 weeks.
knowing how crazy these times are, and seeing a lot of furries post that they have gotten the coronavirus, i just wanted to assure everyone that i am ok. the reason i havent been posting much art is actually due to depression. my mom's coworker and friend who was 33 died of the coronavirus 2 weeks ago. i never met her but seeing my mom so upset, and knowing how deadly the virus is, just made me feel really depressed. i hope everyone is doing ok in these hard times. remember to stay inside and stay safe : )
