Wooops! Regarding updates of Sister Sister
Posted 7 years agoSorry for not being on for the past few days! I got really busy with other things. Anyway, I totally lost track of where I was comic page wise...and I ran out of pages :p As I said when I came back to this site, Sister Sister is currently on hiatus due to real life issues and changes in work schedule. So, hate to say it, but welcome to hiatus hell.
But not to worry! The comic will be returning shortly! I'm working on building a buffer so I can keep long hiatus to a minimum or get rid of them all together. The buffer will be five pages long with several that will be available for viewing by Patreon supporters.
So here's how the future of comic updates will work:
Every Saturday, the comic will be updated on here. clicking the "Next" link will take you to the website where you will see the next page. In the description of that page, there will be a link to yet another page, BUT this will only be available to Patreon supporters who donate a whopping....$2 a month.
For people who pay $4 a month, they will see TWO more pages.
And that's it...for now at least. I may add more tiers as time goes on.
So while you guys are waiting, I'll continue to post comic-related doodles as well as adopts and commissioned art. I'll post updates as they come up so pay close attention to my journals.
I hope you enjoyed reading so far! Thank you all for your support and comments!

Some important notes about the difference between the tip jar and Patreon...

Annnd I'm back!

So after months (close to a year I think?) of thinking, I decided to come back to this site. Sorry for basically disappearing all of a sudden. I don't usually up and abandon sites I go on unless I'm faced with some major issue...this one revolving around a couple pissy trolls that I just had enough of. Not planning on revisiting that junk again :p
I've been debating for the past few months to come back here and this morning I finally made that decision and I'm happy I did! I really do miss this site and the people who weren't rude or nasty towards me for whatever reason.
But leaving all the badness behind, I'm basically going to get a fresh start on here! I'll upload the pages of my comic that haven't been posted here yet as well as more art. My art style has changed and improved since I last logged in here. I also have some adopts for sale that need to be uploaded yet!
I must tell you though that my comic, Sister Sister IS on hiatus at the moment! I'm working on a buffer that will hopefully prevent long hiatuses.
My commissions are still open, but the prices and what I offer have changed dramatically! So if you want a commission, please note me. We can talk about the details though notes until I get a proper pricing sheet up.

Incoming break-Set date, commissions, and fan map!

Some of you already know this from my DA, but yeah the comic is taking a short break. The page this Saturday will be the last one until May 28th or June 4th. There are a few reasons for the break:
I got finals coming up! Finals week for me is the first week of May I already started studying for them and I really need those final two weeks to really be focused solely on my schooling.
Catching up on art I owe people and/or do commissions! I have a couple of things I still owe people and I want to use this break to take care of business. I also want to keep my hands drawing stuff so I opened my commissions! You can check them out here. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15928433/
I'm adding new stuff to my store and making things to sell at cons! Selling at cons is a pretty new thing for me, but I love it! So far I'm registered for two cons: Cleveland Comic Con in October this year, and Wizard Con in March next year. I'll be making new prints and buttons that will also be up on my Etsy and on Ebay. I also want to sell printed copies of Sister Sister, but it depends on how many pages I have. I may not be done with the chapter in time. I still may sell mini-comics though :D
I'm making dragon templates! The free templates for fire wings and sky wings will be finished soon! With these templates and attached info, you can make your own Sister Sister OCs that you can do what you want with AND I'll include them as background characters in the comic! You can also make your own characters into SS dragons!
I just need a break. I know this last reason seems selfish, but goodness this comic takes a toll on my brain and hands! Making a comic that consistently updates means I have to draw several hours a day! A single page takes maybe 5 hours to complete, but I do much more than work on one page a week. I also work on other pages, sketches, concept art, stuff for the website, and even a full world map that is still a long way from being complete! How do I do this every week? I honestly can't tell you. Sometimes I'm too tired to even draw, but I do it anyway because I love the comic and all of you who read and support it
Again, thank you SO much for reading! You guys are all awesome and I appreciate all of you! :D The comic will return before you know it!

Posted 9 years agoAs always, the comic will be FREE to read online, but in an effort to help fund printing physical copies of the comic, I set up a Patreon where you can donate money to help pay for it! https://www.patreon.com/crystalcircle
Rewards for funding (more info on the site). If you donate a certain amount, you get everything listed in the lower amounts as well as the unique awards for your pledged amount. This is "per month" So if you pledge $1, you will be charged $1 per month.
Your email and mailing address is required for some of these! (Again these are now PER MONTH!)
ALL patreons will be added to the Patreon list on the websites! New ones will be announced with every new page! *note* I will just put your name...not the amount you pledged (unless you want me to do that).
$1=A virtual hug for me
$3=added to the mailing list for news updates and comic updates (you get these before anyone else!) email address required!
$10=As an email list member, you now get concept sketches and doodles with your email updates. Yes...sketches and doodles will no longer be available to the public.
$20=You will get colored images in your emails AND you can get free sketches from me! one sketch per month at max...I can't draw for you all the time unfortunately ;n; Colored images include wallpapers!
$30= once a month, you can get any one item from my Etsy store! (mailing address required!)

Posted 10 years agoHey guys! The Sister Sister website needs a little redecorating...and here's your chance to decorate it with your art! Every 5 days I'll change the banner to something different during the holidays. I know this is kind of a late start, but I just had the idea today :p
I'll be accepting holiday and new year themed banners!
Banner specifics (VERY important!):
MUST be 1000 x 300 pixels! It won't work if it's bigger or smaller.
Has to have "Sister Sister" someplace in the image.
Can be any character(s) doing anything (no NSFW!)
Must be your own art (don't steal or use a base)
the background has to be transparent or use this color #090b14 (dark blue)
can be a gif (animated)
Do not move it or re-name it! Since the site grabs the image URL it's important to not change or remove the image. If you do, it can't find it and it won't show up!

again, no NSFW content
any level of talent is accepted!

Sister Sister is back...and more news!
Posted 10 years agoAfter a long hiatus, the comic has returned! Sorry for the wait! While I was taking care of personal issues, school and con stuff, I learned more about comic making...and printing comics!
Sister Sister Issue #1 will be for sale soon! I'll be uploading it to my etsy store. You can check out the store now for pins and prints! https://www.etsy.com/shop/CCsButtons
So back to the comic: I learned how to better structure pages and prepare them for printing. Future pages will be at a larger resolution and the dialog boxes will be smoother and reflect the speaker's current emotions (see the newest page for example)
If you want to dig deeper into the world of Sister Sister, I made a spin-off site that is for ALL my comic-related work...this includes concept art, species info and world map! Check it out here http://twoss.thecomicseries.com/
Since this comic is going to be printed, PLEASE let me know if you find any errors. Any at all! Grammar errors, spelling, missing scars, horns, uncolored areas, etc...I'm good at catching art errors, but spelling and grammar are biggies!

The Site's banner has been updated with the launch date of chapter 1 (a Sunday because I'll be busy that Saturday). Yeah it's a long time, but I figured it would give me plenty of time to work up pages, finish school this semester and wrap up any trades or commissions I have.
Speaking of commissions, I'll be CLOSING them in one week! I want to have time to dedicate to the comic when it starts updating, so I will be closing all trades and commissions until I get to the next hiatus. You can reserve Commissions after I close them so that you are the first to know when I open them back up!

I like to give people a heads up to what's to come so that they know what to expect and let me know if certain things make them uncomfortable. PLEASE tell me if I need to tag anything as a trigger! Sister Sister Prologue-CH1 hiatus-info!
Posted 10 years agoHey guys! How did you like the prologue? Yes, the comic is entering a hiatus so that I can build a buffer to maintain consistent updates, but that doesn't mean the comic totally stops for now!
You can ask me or the characters ANYTHING!
During the hiatus, you can ask characters (or me) anything your heart desires! I'll try to draw out mini comics as answers! I may have to decline some questions because of possible spoilers, but asking personal things like "what's you're favorite color" are safe bets. Make sure you tell me who your question is directed to!
You can ask a question by commenting on this journal, PMing me, or sending me an ask on the comic's Tumblr! If you want to ask anonymously, please use the tumblr...it has anon enabled!
Submit fanart to be displayed on the website!
Submit your fanart to the comic's tumblr or just tag it as "Sister Sister Webcomic" if you are on tumblr. If not on tumblr, you can just tag me in your artwork here! ALL fan art will be posted as an update on the site for hundreds to view! It will have a link to your DA page in the comments. I'm hosting a massive design contest where you can win 1,000 DA points and features on a popular group! Now the prize is DA points...about $10 worth! But sadly, the points are worthless anywhere else on the internet. So this contest is for anyone who has a DA account.

The challenge is to design a sharkface villain for my fantasy adventure comedy webcomic, Define Hero!
A sharkface is a quadruped, lizard like, beast that has a long slender body (usually bony) and a head resembling a shark's. They even have gills, sharp teeth and the ability to swim very fast! They also can possess shape-shifting abilities and can wield an element. Some are centaur-like and have two human like arms that can wield a weapon. See the contest link above for full details, rules and refs of other designs!
This contest ends on January 1st, 2014!
